56- Aunty Holly
Summary: An older Holly bonding with her nieces.
Requested by: Boris Yeltsin
Holly looked up at the small gray house.
She couldn't believe this was her sister's house.
Ever since Nancy and Johnathan had a child, they moved back to Hawkins and lived at the Wheelers for the first few years.
But now, they bought a house at the edge of town.
Holly's eyes trailed to the car parked in the driveway.
Mike and El was visiting from the town over, where they had a small apartment and a daughter.
"Hey Holly!" a voice called.
Holly turned and saw Will climbing out of his car.
He'd gotten rid of his bowl cut after spring break of 1986. Now he was sporting a spiffy haircut and a job drawing cartoons. It was a surprise that Will was still in Hawkins.
"Hi Will." Holly greeted. "How's it going?"
Will shrugged. "The same. How about you?"
"The same." Holly told him, giving a sly grin.
Will shook his head and laughed.
"Have you seen Lucas or Max around?" Will asked her.
"Um, the last time I saw them was at the grocery store about a week ago with a cart packed full of diapers. Babies take a lot of time I guess." Holly told him.
"For sure." Will said. "I just wanted to know how they were doing. The last time I saw Lucas all he talked about was the baby and how many scholarships Erica was getting."
Holly smirked. "Who would've guessed? 5 years ago, they couldn't stand each other and know they're closer than ever."
"Reminds me of some other siblings I know." Will said.
Speaking of siblings, Nancy poked her head out of the front door.
"Hey guys! Come on in!" she called.
Holly and Will walked up the path and entered the house.
"Holly!" a young voice cried.
Holly's oldest niece came running up and threw herself into Holly's arms.
"Barb!" Holly squeezed her, despite seeing each other only two days before.
Barb was three years old and was as curious as her parents, who ran the town's newspaper.
Holly put Barb down, just for her to do the same thing to Will.
Holly gave Nancy and Johnathan hugs.
"Hey baby sis!" Mike greeted, coming around the corner.
"For the thousandth time, not a baby anymore." Holly told him.
"Oh, you'll always be my baby sister, get used to it." Mike said, giving her a hug.
El appeared, juggling a baby in her arms.
"Holly! Nice to see you!"
"Nice to see you too!" Holly gave her a side hug.
The baby giggled.
"And nice to see you too!" Holly said, taking the girl out of El's arms.
Terry kept giggling and Holly grinned at El.
Terry was 7 months old, and everyone was excited that Terry and Billie, Lucas and Max's one month old daughter, would be in the same grade as well as Dustin's soon to be born son, who Dusitn and Suzie were planning on naming Eddie.
Though no one knew if they would be going to the same school with Lucas and Max still in Hawkins, El and Mike in the next town over, and Dustin and Suzie living in a town near Indianapolis.
But who knew? They could all be in the same town when the kids were in kindergarten.
"How's Ryan, Holly?" El asked as she watched her daughter play with Holly's hair.
"Pretty good, he's in North Carolina, visiting family." Holly told her.
Ryan was her boyfriend who was in 10th grade, making him a year older than her.
Will came up and took Terry from Holly. Barb then came up and dragged Holly to the kitchen. "Drawings!" she exclaimed.
Holly smiled and looked at the messily drawn pictures.
"They're so pretty!" Holly told Barb. "Can I draw one?"
Barb nodded and plopped in a dining room chair. Holly followed in suit.
"Here," Barb said. "We can draw this with these colors."
Holly looked down to an outline of a pony. It reminded her of when she loved to draw.
Holly and Barb got to work, Holly following Barbs instructions in how to color her pony. It turned out having a purple body, pick hair, and green eyes.
El came in soon later, juggling a slightly fussy Terry.
"Nap time." El told the two girls after complimenting their drawing.
"Could I put her down?" Holly asked.
El looked hesitant but replied, "Sure, just know, it might take a while."
"That's okay." Holly said. "It'll be good bonding time."
Holly carried Terry to the guest room, where a crib was set up.
Holly then paced around the room and sung quietly, like she'd seen Nancy do many times before with Barb.
Soon after the second lullaby, Terry's head was resting on Holly's shoulder and her eyes were closed.
Holly carefully placed the sleeping girl in her crib and turned to find her brother in the doorway.
"Wow." was all he whispered.
"What?" Holly asked.
"It's just," Mike started. "It takes us at least five lullabies to put her down."
"For real?"
Mike nodded. "You know Holly, you're making a pretty good aunt."
"Really?" Holly asked. It had been worrying her that she'd never be a great aunt to Barb and Terry.
"Yeah," Mike told her. "I'd bet money that they'll be calling you Aunty Holly by next month."
"Aunty Holly," Holly whispered to herself. Then she smiled at Mike.
"I like the sound of that."
AN: I hope you liked it, Boris Yeltsin! I would just like to say that all of the names of the OC's were their ideas. Happy February! Requests are open everybody!
