First off, thanks to each and everyone of you for your feedback, you have no idea how much it means to hear you guys are enjoying this fanfic. And now… the moment you've all been waiting for… Noah's elimination from "Total Drama" and what went down. Why did he not want to talk about it? Read on to find out. ;) This chapter will be told from Emma's POV as she watches the episode after Noah left her apartment to catch a flight back to his family's house in Winnipeg. Hope you enjoy!
(Emma's POV)
I sat down on the couch and immediately turned on Total Drama as soon as I got back from the library, even though all I wanted to see was the elimination ceremony.
Noah's elimination ceremony.
All I've been wanting and asking how he got eliminated but he just always says he doesn't want to talk about it. Honestly it was a miracle that the next morning he even shared with me that he found out from Cody that he was in a relationship with Sierra.
Except that is a whole other thing.
Right now, I just wanted to find out why Noah was being so closed in about not wanting to tell me how he got eliminated.
So… this is my best shot.
And I had to admit, this episode was a good one. The challenge was a puzzle based one that looked like it totally worked in Noah's favor… well until he was beat out narrowly by Alejandro.
Honestly Noah should have won on all accounts in my opinion, but you could completely tell Chris was 'playing favorites' for ratings since he kept on finding ways to 'distract' Noah more than the other contestants.
Owen almost got last place in the challenge which wasn't shocking to me.
Although honestly… Owen's kind of grown on me.
Back during the race when I first met him, I thought he was kind of annoying, gross, and frustrating and I had no idea how Noah was able to put up with him.
Mainly because Noah and Owen are about as polar opposite as Kitty and I.
But… I don't mind Owen now and I can see why he and Noah are practically best friends. He's a nice guy and always tries to do anything he can to help someone.
And also I like that he and Kitty have been hanging out more after the race since Owen's family lives really close to our parent's house.
Owen is a 'partier' like Kitty but at least he's not a bad influence and wouldn't make her do anything crazy to get seriously hurt.
Sure, maybe I'm just being the 'paranoid older sister' and yeah Kitty's 20. But, I still appreciate her hanging out with people that aren't bad influences.
The commercial break ended and I immediately turned my attention back to the TV.
The camera settled on the bonfire elimination ceremony being held at dusk as the final 6 contestants were gathered around the fire. Noah, Owen, Alejandro, Heather, Lightning, and Harold. All the contestants took their seats as Chris and Chef entered the situation. Chef stood off to the side with his arms crossed as per usual, awaiting for the loser to be called to eject the latest loser via the 'Cart of Shame'. Which was really a glorified death trap of a mining cart that they sent with the loser inside downhill in. Chris; however, looked eager to take center stage as per usual as he stepped right up with a tray of marshmallows and smile ever present on his face.)
Chris: "Very interesting work today campers! Some of you excelled and others… Hehe, yeah. Not so much."
(Owen looked off into the corner and bit his lip, looking embarrassed. Considering the only thing that kept him from being in last place was Lightning. But, considering this was the first real 'wit based' solo challenge Lightning had to face up until now in the game and had only excelled up until that point with mostly physical based challenges giving him the cutting edge. However, if his showdown with Cameron in the season 4 finale displayed anything, it's that Lightning still wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to overall intellect. And Lightning seemed to just be ignoring this whole situation all together, definitely as a proclaimed 'overachiever' obviously not taking 'losing' very well and was already anticipating to be 'talked down to' by his dad for it once he got home whether he won or not.)
Chris: "Well, losers aside and Alejandro having immunity… let's see who tonight's 'loser du jour' ended up becoming, shall we? You all cast your votes and the first vote goes to… Noah and another vote for Noah."
(The camera panned over to see Noah looking over to Heather and Alejandro, giving them a 'look'. Knowing Heather and Alejandro as the numbers started dwindling down in the game have been less and less involved in their 'blackmail alliance'.)
*{Confessional: Noah}*
Noah: "Yeah, wonder where those came from? Can you see how 'shocked' I am? I'd have to be an idiot to not see 'Bonnie and Clyde' were gunning for me and breaking the alliance. But hey, it's their funeral. They know my terms."
*{End Confessional}*
Chris: "And let's see, a vote for Heather… and another vote for Heather. 4 votes down, 2 to go."
Noah: "Yeah, thanks 'Captain Obvious' can you just get on with it?"
(Noah just wanted to get this over with since he was waiting for his shot to screw over Alejandro and Heather. He knew Heather and Alejandro were going to turn on him sooner or later since at this point it was basically Owen and Noah and then Alejandro and Heather being the only alliance loyalties when it came to voting with Lightning and Harold being the only 'wild cards'. And since Lightning was a 'lost cause' and kept insisting he was a 'lone wolf', plus the fact that he didn't get along with Noah at all made that point even more obvious. So, Noah aimed his luck at Harold for a vote, which he seemed on board with when he approached him after the challenge. After all, to him it only made sense, Harold narrowly beat Heather in the challenge and Noah didn't really have anything against him. Sure he thought he could be weird and kind of annoying with him talking up his 'mad skills' and bizarre interests… that and he still couldn't forget the time during the first season that he got trapped in a conversation with Harold going on and on about how 'beaver's shouldn't be considered rodents'. But, desperate times called for desperate measures. And Noah just felt lucky Harold agreed to vote with he and Owen.)
Chris: (Giving Noah a glare) "Moving on… Our 5th vote is for… Look at that. Noah! One more vote to go. Another vote could send this into a tie breaker… or send someone down the tracks to the land of loserdom. And our final vote goes to… Lightning. So that makes our loser of the evening, Noah!"
My eyes went wide as I sputtered to myself, trying to figure out what happened or how anything that happened with the voting made any sense, "What?" And it was almost ironic as I saw Noah react in the same kind of confused way as me.
(Noah's eyes widened before he knit his eyebrows together and stood up in near uncharacteristic and confused outrage. His line of sight immediately shot over to Harold as he heard a familiar long, breathy sigh come from him. Harold finally looked up at Noah as he held up his Num-Yo that he had been missing for the past week.)
Harold: "Sorry, Heather and Alejandro found my Num-yo. I owed them a favor."
(Noah's focus immediately shifted to Alejandro and Heather, who were currently flashing wickedly satisfied grins at the fact that they outplayed Noah. And Noah realized precisely how they just screwed him over as his fists slowly clenched at his sides so tight that his knuckles were almost turning white.)
*{Confessional: Alejandro)*
Alejandro: "While a very shrewd player with the blackmail, mi novia and I felt it was time to show that anything Noah could do… we could do MUCH better. While the odds were against us in the beginning, the numbers have dwindled and dwindled until there were only 6 of us left. And while Heather and I didn't want anyone to know about our 'status' together to avoid giving anyone an edge over us and try to split us up earlier in the game due to our engagement. But, now that is all null and void. All it took was either myself or Heather earning immunity today, and ensuring Noah got enough votes to go home and make Heather and I the only alliance to command this game from here on out. So farewell, amigo."
(Alejandro immediately started chuckling in devious satisfaction as the confessional went to static.)
*{End Confessional}*
*{Confessional: Heather)*
Heather: (She smirked and brushed her hair casually behind her ear as she casually crossed her legs) "Sure that sarcastic little dweeb may have had us in the beginning, but it didn't mean anything in the end. It's all about playing your cards right. Yeah, Noah's not an idiot, actually the twerp is annoyingly too smart. Ugh… But, not smart enough to out play me. If there's anything I excel at more than anything else, it's knowing how to get things to go in my favor. In the beginning, it's all about eliminating your team's weakest links and in the end it's about eliminating everyone who is a threat to you. Lightning's strong but also a total idiot and was going to go for the obvious of voting for the next in line without immunity, Owen is under Noah's influence completely since they're 'buddy-buddy', Alejandro is obviously loyal when it comes to me, and then there's Harold. The only key was to somehow get Harold under my influence to get him to vote with me and Alejandro. Sure he'd vote with me, but it would take A LOT more than that to get him to agree to doing anything with Alejandro. All I had to do was further gain his trust myself by making sure he 'misplaced' his 'Num-yo whatever' and then find it just in time to convince him to vote for anyone but me to avoid a tie breaker. So…
(Heather slowly reached into her pocket and pulled out what looked like a tasteful yet expensive ring and slowly slipped it back on her left ring finger to signify she wasn't hiding the engagement anymore with a deviously satisfied smile on her face as she looked back at the confessional camera and she waved almost 'mockingly'.)
Heather: "So long… sucker."
*{End Confessional}*
Chris: (Grinning and definitely showing his satisfaction of getting rid of Noah specifically.) "Well, anything else to say before you go, dude? Or have your 'comebacks' finally come up short for once?"
(Noah just had a stone faced expression as Owen looked like he was in a state of shock and also like he was trying to fight back from having an overly dramatic outburst. Well, until Noah stood up and unclenched his hands.)
Noah: "That's it. I'm done."
Chris: (Continuing to grin in satisfaction) "That you are, man! Hehe… Time to pack your bags and get on the cart of!..."
Noah: (Immediately getting right in Chris's face with an extremely 'over it' look in his eyes.) "Oh no, Baron von Sadist. I don't think you pulled your head out long enough to hear what I meant. I said I was done. I'm done with you, I'm done with dealing with this insane-ass backstabbing freak show, and I'm done with being in the loser 'peanut gallery' for the umpteenth time. So, see you never! I'm going home."
Chris: (Holding up what appeared to be Noah) "Not so fast there dude! In case you forgot, YOU signed a contract. So, if you are refusing to go down the cart of shame, then you can't…"
Noah: (Getting right in Chris's face.) "Can't what? Be asked to come back? Have any shots at the million? Make other TV contracts? News flash! Does it look like I care anymore? You have been mentally tormenting me for money since I was 16 without so much as even getting CLOSE to the million until now. So WHY?! Why am I still here?! I clearly must be a masochist if I keep coming back to get tortured by you over and over again. I'm a competitive gamer, I have a Computer Science degree, and I have a girlfriend. I don't need any of this crap. So as far as I'm concerned, you can just go!..."
Chris: (Cutting Noah off as he started, clearly losing his patience and composure) "Whoa there, man! This is a family show here and look at who you're talking to. Might want to watch your words carefully."
(Noah gave Chris a hard, done, and burnt out glare; clearly showing he did not care anymore. And he especially showed it by what he did next.)
Noah: (Still glaring at Chris and looking like he had nothing left to lose.) "You know what, Chris?... %*#$ you."
(Everyone, even Chef, went wide eyed and silent. While Noah wasn't the first contestant to swear on the show or mouth off a little to Chris. But, considering Noah's past track record of insulting people MUCH stronger and scarier than himself should not have made this too surprising… He was the first contestant to swear at Chris to that extreme of an extent, specifically pulling out the F-bomb without a second thought. Noah; however, seemed completely unphased as he just proceeded to walk into the cabin he was staying in and almost immediately walked back out with his duffle bag. Chris, whose shock now seemed to wear off, knit his brows together as he started calling after Noah.)
Chris: "HEY! Where do you think you're going?!"
Noah: "Dude, do you need hearing aids? I said I'm going home. I will walk back to the damn airport if I have to."
(Noah paused for a second as he walked past Alejandro and Heather before just flipping them off silently with a glare in his eye as Alejandro and Heather rolled theirs. Despite both of them secretly being impressed by Noah's 'closing address'.)
Chris: (Sounding as if he was a guardian with a rebellious and insufferable teen, despite just getting what was coming to him from a burnt out 21 year old Noah for a LONG time coming… And also now fearing for his reputation now that he got burned on TV and knowing there would be no way the executives would cut it out due to the ratings it would pull in.) "Well don't expect me to bail you out if you run into anything! We're in the Northwest territories, in case you forgot!"
Noah: (Still not seeming remotely bothered to care anymore as he turned back with his usual deadpan and undeterred facial expression.) "Listen, I grew up the youngest of 9 in an Indian, Catholic family with a bunch of meatheads as brothers and had to deal with you and a bunch of weird-ass freaks for the past 6 years of my life to try to win cash, so at this point… I practically fear nothing. See ya!"
(As Noah walked off, it was like Owen finally snapped out of his shock and got up and started jogging to catch up.)
Owen: (sounding slightly out of breath)"NOAH?! Buddy! What are you doing?!"
(Noah paused for a second and pat Owen on the shoulder)
Noah: "Sorry, big guy. I just gotta get out of here. I'll see you when you get back… whenever that is. See ya, dude."
(After that Owen and everyone just stared in shock as Noah just… left. Aside from Duncan's temporary 'hiatus' in season 3… Noah's 'resignation' at this point was the most serious issued one in Total Drama history to date. Noah was leaving… and it looked like he was serious about never coming back as he walked off and the show ended on a dead silent Chris, Chef, and remaining contestants.)
I immediately shut off my TV as I just sat there and tried to 'process' everything I just witnessed.
The following morning
(Noah's POV)
A snow storm ripped through Toronto and I had to crash at a hotel for the night since my flight got cancelled and I was going to see what else they had today to get back to Winnipeg.
I was going to go back to Emma's to spend the night, but I didn't want to distract her from her law school stuff so… I knew I had to give her space.
Even though it was really hard to give her that space after Friday night.
Dude…
Look, I know nothing really even happened since all we did was make out half naked but… man, that was the furthest I've ever gotten and it was awesome.
She was awesome. Seriously, I still have no idea what it is about Emma that makes me act like this, but I still seriously don't care.
I was sitting on the edge of the bed in my room as I tried to get my head back on right and decided to distract myself by looking at flights.
I was scrolling through until I saw a notification show up on my banner, it was a text.
Cody Anderson: "Hey dude, are you still in Toronto?"
And the plot thickens! Looks like Cody is trying to patch up his friendship with Noah after their 'talk' from a couple chapters ago. But will Noah accept? Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed the episode of "Total Drama" I devised to show how exactly Noah got eliminated. During Noah's time in the show and while Noah had a good deal of growth from his time in TD to RR, I could see him just getting to a point of just being 'done' and then walking off without giving a crap about anything else. Especially since his elimination came at the hands of Alejandro and Heather screwing him over by playing 'ping-pong' with Harold's allegiance. And that gets into this next part, Harold. I always thought Harold, like many other characters, got screwed out of making it to a finale. While a very 'quirky guy', Harold was actually multi-talented and resourceful player and deserved better than what he was delt. Especially since his time in TDWT was just… lack luster. And quick side note, I actually really liked his dynamic with Leshawna (Another character I always thought deserved better). While kind it was just a pairing that came out of absolute nowhere is TDI… I actually really enjoyed the pairing. Plus, if anything you gotta admit, Harold was probably into Leshawna, respected her, and defended her honor more than any other guy did with any other girl they were with on the show. Just saying, say anything bad about Leshawna to Harold and the guy will throw down if he has to. Haha. XD Anyway, I hope you enjoyed seeing some classically manipulative Aleheather at work and Noah being the one gutsy enough to mouth off to Chris. After all, Noah has already insulted Eva, Duncan, Courtney, and even Heather before so I didn't think Noah finally just telling Chris how 'done' he was with the show and everyone there was too far of a stretch. ;) What will happen to Owen? What will happen in general going forward? Stay tuned and leave your guesses as to what you think might happen. I always love to hear from you all. :)
Thanks for reading and stay classy!
