Heyo, to Karicke, First. Cheers for the love. Second…yeah the odds do not look good, though I'll at least try to get to the USJ arc, and if I do drop this, I'll probably just write a long chapter where I skim over to the end, or just have a portal open and a quick thanos snap that ends the universe.

And to the guest account wanting moaaaar, here ya go.

Edit: ahh! Damn you formatting, apologies, this chapter should now have all the right italics in the right places

"Good morning, are you Izuku Midoriya?" The receptionist asked with a smile and voice that sounded almost robotic.

"Y-yes, I'm here to register my quirk" Izuku replied nervously.

"Righto I'll give the registration department a call, and they should send someone down in a moment" she smiled as she picked up a phone and rang.

True to her word, a moment later a man with a lizard body was down and brought him to room 4.

"Good morning Izuku, my name is Dr Muimi, I understand you originally had an invisible quirk, and just so you know, I can taste pheromones so you won't be able to lie to me" the man spoke with experience.

"Yes, I recently activated it, it's a wraith th-" Izuku began but the doctor stopped him.

"Woah woah, first tell me how it activated?" The doctor asked, his tongue flicking around the air and tasting Izuku's hesitance before he added.

"I understand this may have been a traumatic experience, but we need this information".

Izuku was unable to lie to the doctor, though fortunately the doctor didn't pry too deeply so some of Izuku's more obscure abilities were able to slip under the lizard's radar.

"Now, what would you like to name your Quirk?"

Months later

Toshinori was on his daily walk, both for his health and for relaxation, he passed by the trash heap that was Dagobah, how he wished he could fix it, but his time was valuable and he couldn't waste it on community service.

However while gazing at the beach, he noticed a lone figure, hidden by the early morning sun. By the movements of the person, Toshinori figured they were exercising, though why they were here and not a less smelly environment was a mystery.

But as Toshinori saw the green hair, he couldn't help but feel he had seen this kid before, but that was to be expected, as the Number One Hero, he met many people every day and always felt horrible when he didn't recognize them.

His curiosity got the better of him and he moved further down the sidewalk, looking to get a better angle and he was honestly amazed.

The kid was benching what looked like broken microwaves filled with sand, and judging from the speed and consistency, the kid wasn't struggling.

All of a sudden he dropped the weight and caught a pipe being swung at him from behind by a bright ghostly figure that resembled his height.

"STOP WITH THE DAMN SURPRISE ATTACKS!" The kid yelled at the ghost, whatever the ghost replied with, annoyed the kid enough that he threw his arms up in frustration.

"I'm going to do the responsible thing and leave them to it" Toshinori backed away from the beach and continued his walk.

Back to Izuku, He was currently cooling off by floating in the water of the beach, letting the waves wash over him. He had discarded his shirt because half dead or not, a wet shirt was uncomfortable, fortunately for his dignity, he had purchased swimming shorts that he would not be taking off.

"Be sure not to fall asleep and get dragged away to sea by the current"

"I just can't relax around you" Izuku swam back to the shore, and although he didn't look like it under a shirt, he was a lean, mean, slightly dead machine.

"The entrance exam is in 2 days, you shouldn't be relaxed" the wraith hummed as Izuku picked up some plastic bottles filling them with sand and adding them to the pole.

"I can move faster and hit harder than the average man, and together we are even more faster and stronger, we're going to pass" Izuku replied as he began lifting the weight. It was heavy, but with his endurance, he could lift it for hours.

'We have to pass'

Elsewhere, a crimson haired man entered a rundown bar.

"Yo this the new villain hideout?" He popped his head through the door, drawing attention from the two people in it, one being a purple cloud, the other being too busy playing on a handheld device.

"You're lucky we're in a run down part of the city where no heroes patrol, or else I would leave you at the bottom of the ocean" the cloud replied as the red head entered, his sharp teeth and claws reflecting off the light.

"Sorry boss, I've been in a lot of groups, it just feels like another job at this point" the red head laughed as he took a seat and fished out some money to buy a drink.

"We don't accept blood money" the cloud said as it refused to give service.

"What? This money was earned from a difficult robbery, it's dirty money" the red head explained with a toothy smile.

"I'll reword my reason, there is blood on this money" the cloud pointed to the drops of blood on the cash, drawing a laugh from the red head.

"Oh! You had me going for a second there, but no worries, I got it" the red head laughed again before he pinched the money with his fingers, the blood retreating from the it before separating completely.

"A blood quirk I presume?" The cloud said as it polished a glass and filled it with a liquid that is usually found in a bar.

"What tipped you off? The red hair? The appearance?" The red head listed rhetorically before he downed the drink.

"So? Am I in?" He asked the cloud, who just shrugged.

"I'm not the leader, but I recommend you don't bother him, unless you want that drink to be your last" the cloud said before the other person in the room threw his device away in rage.

"Fucking AOE attacks!" He turned to grab his drink, but noticed the red head, who gave a wave.

"Kurogiri, there's a pest in our midst" he eyed the red head.

"Oh don't worry, I'm here to join, just waiting for the leader" the red head ordered another drink.

"Why should I let you join? You're too cheery to be a villain" he said, surprising the red head before he laughed again.

"Oh damn, you're the leader?! Why didn't you say 'Kurogiri'?" The red head faced the bartender, now known as Kurogiri, who kept cleaning the glasses.

Despite being ignored, the red head continued.

"Well I'm just a happy go lucky guy who just so happens to enjoy killing people for fun, but most groups I join always have a code of conduct. Don't randomly kill, don't torture, don't kick puppies" the red head listed as he downed his drink.

"I'm just looking for a group that actually wants to be villains for villains sake you know? And I've heard this is one messed up place, it's perfect!" The red head yelled excitedly as he ordered another drink, already tipsy.

All the while the leader listened before he sipped his drink.

"Fine, you can join, but you're going to be a mob character for now, if you're still here I'll think about adding you" the leader yawned before continuing.

"So who are you? What's your deal?" He asked.

"Call me Chichi Satsujin, and I honestly just want to spread mayhem, maybe get a free drink or two" Chichi looked at Kurogiri, who shook his head.

"Worth a shot!"

The Day Of The Entrance Exams

"Woah, this place is larger than I thought" Izuku said as he took in the grand size of UA.

"Keep your eyes in front of you, or you may fall" the wraith warned as it saw a rock.

"Yeah whatev-" although it was a very small chance, Izuku managed to get his foot caught in the rock and began to fall, sure the wraith could've done more to stop this but it was more entertaining this way.

"Told you" the wraith laughed as Izuku neared the ground before stopping, courtesy of a fellow attendee.

"Screw you" Izuku replied before he realised that he didn't faceplant, unfortunately due to the wraith not being seen, Izuku's saviour felt offended that her actions were met with such rudeness.

"Well I was just trying to help, Release" she pressed her fingertips together and Izuku resumed his fall, hitting the ground with a softer thud than what would've occured before.

"I should start calling you silk, cause that was smooth as sandpaper" the wraith laughed at Izuku's misery.

"I wasn't talking to you, sorry" Izuku quickly jumped up and bowed, this got the girl's attention though it was skeptical.

"Who were you talking to then?" She asked with a sharpness to her voice.

"I was talking to him" Izuku pointed to his wraith, who chose this moment to remain hidden.

"Very funny" the girl turned and walked away.

"Thanks alot" Izuku grumbled, first time he properly talks to a girl and he manages to accidentally insult her and then her intelligence.

"Could've gone worse" the wraith snickered as it disappeared.

"Asshole" Izuku muttered.

"What was that Deku?!"

"Oh come on!"

Once Izuku got inside into the examination hall, he found that he was sat next to Bakugo, something neither felt comfortable with, though both for different reasons.

Papers were given to the students, one was the question sheet, the other was a stack of papers for the answers.

The questions ranged from the usual arithmetic and other school subjects to the laws regarding quirk use and heroics.

Although Izuku was fine with the questions, it didn't help that his wraith was looking at others answers, laughing at the ones they got wrong.

"No wonder UA has a low acceptance rate, these people are idiots!" It laughed, no one heard except Izuku.

"Can you shut up, I'm trying to concentrate" Izuku whispered, hoping that Bakugo would just think he was just crazy.

Although Izuku had now gained a quirk, he was yet to tell anyone in his class, the main reason was he didn't want the attention, plus the wraith found alot of enjoyment in toying with his classmates, something Izuku couldn't help but agree was also fun, Bakugo however.

Bakugo hadn't really spoken to him much since the sludge incident, not even joining in with the usual mockery the class gave Izuku, he didn't know why Bakugo had decided to lay off, but it was appreciated, though this meant he was unable to tell him since he didn't want to just approach him and tell him he had a quirk now.

However, as Bakugo turned his head to Izuku who could only offer a nervous smile, he just turned to his own paper and continued writing.

While Izuku was unable to tell Bakugo about his quirk, the latter already knew but had yet to tell him, mainly because of the words that haunted him.

'take a swan dive and hope you come back with a quirk'

After the written exam was complete, the papers were collected and the next part began with a loud…

"HELLO EXAMINEES! A hero spoke without a mic, it was the one the only…

"Ahh Present Mic!" Izuku squealed in excitement, his wraith giving a less enthusiastic reaction in the form of an excited grin.

"His voice is truly spectacular in person" the wraith spoke with respect heavy in its tone.

"I know right, he's so awesome" Izuku added, drawing a couple eyes to him.

"CAN I GET A 'YEAH'!"

Izuku had to stop himself from screaming joyously, his wraith however...

"YEAHHH!" It cheered, being joined by another student that couldn't be seen in the dark, though a bird headed attendant did facepalm for some reason.

"AWESOME, WE GOT GOOD VIBES IN THE CROWD TODAY!" Present Mic laughed before continuing on with his speech and explaining the exam.

It was while Present Mic was talking about the scoring system that another examinee stood up and began arguing about a missing villain.

"He sounds like someone who organises his dishes in alphabetical order" the wraith joked, and although he tried his best, Izuku couldn't help but let out a snort, drawing more eyes to him, even the arguing examinee's.

"And you" he pointed at Izuku, whose face was red enough from trying not to crack up.

"Regardless of whatever has you guffawing, you have been talking this whole time, if you cannot take this seriously, please leave" he demanded as Izuku was honestly trying his best.

"I'm old but 'guffawing'? watch out Izuku, he may try to challenge us to a duel for our Kingdom" the wraith mocked with a heavily old timey accent, Izuku personally didn't care for the choice of words but with everyone's eyes on him he couldn't stop laughing in absolute embarrassment.

"I'm sorry... honestly" Izuku said as he blew a raspberry trying not to laugh, fortunately his wraith decided to be of assistance and hold a hand over his mouth, allowing him to hear a few other students guffawing around.

Bakugo was next to him, confused by who he was talking to, must be the other 'Izuku', but damn the laughter was contagious, he found himself cracking a smile, but he made sure it wouldn't go further than that.

"Damn it Deku" he said as he facepalmed, mainly to hide his grin.

Izuku sat on the bus to his faux city with his head in his hands, "I must look like such a fool" he groaned, the day had been a mess of him just embarrassing himself over and over again.

His wraith was not helping, as it was still laughing.

Once everyone was off the bus, Izuku eyed the girl he accidentally insulted twice. He was going to approach, but he was not wanting to get into another misunderstanding so he just stretched and waited.

"We should aim for the middle of the city, then search the surroundings" the wraith strategized.

"I'm pretty sure everyone's going to focus on the middle, we should try to get in first and take what we can before searching elsewhere" Izuku argued, however he once again caught the attention of the spectacled examinee.

"Are you trying to distract us? First the incessant laughter now saying your plan out loud, or are you a secret part of the test put in by UA to mess with us?" He asked sternly as he approached.

"No, you see my quirk is se-" Izuku was unable to finish as he was interrupted by the signal being given, and his wraith was off, taking Izuku along for the ride.

"Time to show them the fruits of your labour!"

"Yeah, my labour"

In the viewing room, multiple teachers and other members of staff sat and watched the many many screens that showed all testing areas.

Two people had a spark of recognition when they saw Izuku flip over a robot and drive his hand between the metal plating on its head, crushing the essential systems and shutting down the robot.

"It's always interesting seeing quirks in action, you never know what a quirk can do until a creative person has it, such as this young man, Tenya Iida. He uses his quirk to boost his kicks, making them strong enough to-" the principal paused his speech as said student kicked a robots head off, "-well, do that" he ended with a chuckle.

"Can we get a zoom in on camera 9, near the green haired kid" the pro hero known as Snipe requested as two robots fell around the kid, with no noticeable reason.

"Ah yes, I forgot to activate the sensor" the principal pressed a button, which made the camera darker and colourless, with Izuku was another, who would periodically disappear and reappear.

"Spooky, a Casper the friendly ghost quirk?" a feminine voice spoke up, belonging to Midnight.

"Let me pull up his file"

'Name: Izuku Midoriya

Quirk: Annoying Wraith, user has a half wraith psychology that grants them enhanced physical strength, agility and durability, additionally they possess a wraith which can temporarily increase the users already enhanced abilities.

Note from Dr Muimi : Quirk was invisible until user died.

The Principal let out a chuckle at the Quirk's name before reading the description.

"Ah, it IS a ghost quirk but it's his ghost, though the preferred term is wraith, improves his physical abilities as well as...oh dear" the principal's eyes widened when he read the rest.

"What is it?"

"We can discuss it later, for now let's continue"

"I believe we have 32 points, our early entrance worked in our favour" the wraith said as Izuku slid under a robot shooting an arrow at the back of its head, whilst the wraith went over it and jumped on the one behind it, punching through it before disappearing and driving it's knee through the next one, feeling its power growing with each hit.

"Is it just me or are we getting faster and stronger?" Izuku asked, stopping to look for more points before he got flung into the wall where he felt a painful crack in his shoulder.

"Outta my way!" The other guy shouted as his arm enlarged like a club and crushed a robot beneath it.

"That boy must've gotten us with one of his attacks, and he doesn't seem too phased with our well being"

Izuku tried to move his arm, but couldn't without a significant amount of pain.

"That bastard, I think it's broken" Izuku tried to move his arm, hissing as the pain grew with his anger, he tried to reign in his emotions, but the thought of failing because another's carelessness just made him frustrated.

Izuku rose off the ground, the wraith using its power to keep his shoulder still as Izuku looked for another robot, however his attention went back to the boy, he was about to punch the robot, but behind was another student who hadn't noticed and if they didn't move, then...

Izuku's eyes glowed as the wraith's body overlapped his, pain becoming anger, anger becoming power.

In the viewing room, Toshinori stood up in shock as he saw what was about to happen, All Might was fast but he wouldn't be able to cross the distance to the faux city in such a short time to prevent a student being hurt, all he could do was hope that the attendee wouldn't knock the robot in their direction.

Unfortunately, the attendee did knock the robot in the direction of the other attendee, who turned just in time to be inches away from being horribly injured.

Only for a blinding light to crash into the robot like a lightning strike, knocking it into the wall.

"HOLY CRAP!" The teachers screamed, shocked by the speed.

"AGH! Fucking...fuck!" The audio picked up the swearing of the now dimming light that revealed itself to be the same green haired boy with the ghost quirk, holding his shoulder while glaring at another student with only hatred in his eyes.

"Present Mic" The principal pressed a button to activate his microphone.

"What's up" Present Mic answered.

"Head to this location and keep an eye on these two, Izuku Midoriya and...Saisho Hiretsuna" The principal sent two images before resuming the viewing.

"On my way"

"Careless brute, he won't be becoming a hero, we won't let him" the green haired kid said with a weird overlap in his voice as he clenched his fist, running up behind the robots focusing on the student now known as Saisho, his arm glowing as it punched through the metal shell before a jumping off with his left arm glowing.

As the student known as Izuku spun in the air, his glowing arm conjured a bow, and shot every robot around Saisho before he landed gracefully while at the same time preventing Saisho from getting any points.

Everyone in the room could see Saisho's confusion turn to anger as he and Izuku stomped towards eachother, both activating their quirks as one enlarged their arm, and the other began to glow.

However the principal wasn't worried, especially since he had pressed a very specific button.

Izuku was about to throw the first punch before the ground started shaking, debris and dust filling the area as something large came their way.

"You're dead the next time I see you" the student Izuku was about to beat down threated as he ran away from the shaking, neither he nor Izuku could see eachother through the smoke which prevented Izuku from pulling off a cheeky arrow to his calf.

Soon he was passed by many students who ran for their lives, but was unable to see what they were running from, however as debris rained from the sky and the smoke cleared a bit, Izuku saw that an absolute behemoth of a robot was rampaging through the city.

Holding his shoulder in place to reduce the pain, Izuku did what anyone with burst speeds would do.

GTFO

Izuku ran alongside the other examinees, pain accompanying each step.

"20 SECONDS!" Present Mic said as the robot continued, surprisingly close to Izuku for some reason.

When Izuku got to the gate he had trouble holding back tears, his shoulder was in agony and running did not help at all.

But despite the loud chatter and screams of examinees, the rumbling of the robot and the sounds of Izuku breathing heavily.

He heard a weak, quiet "help".

"A bunch of students trying to be heroes, and not one is going to help, pathetic" the wraith said before it noticed Izuku running back in.

"Wait! I wasn't saying we should! Not in our condition"

Izuku pushed through the pain but when he got to the source, he hesitated.

"Oh its you, here to gloat!" The girl who helped him earlier that day said, before being surprised when Izuku tried to lift the rubble trapping her leg, which absolutely destroyed his shoulder.

"Wraith! Help me lift this" Izuku demanded.

"You are aware I won't be able to help for long, and that weight is going to hurt" it warned.

"Just do it!"

Izuku and his wraith lifted the rubble, allowing the girl to move, but as per his wraith's warning, it lost its tangibility, forcing Izuku to bare the weight alone, soon a loud and audible CRACK sounded through the air as Izuku screamed in pain, his arm dropping and hanging limply as he was now holding up a very heavy piece of debris with one arm, slowly losing the battle as the massive robot approached.

He looked down, seeing that the girl had managed to get loose, but was unable to stand and forced to crawl out from under the debris.

Izuku fell to his knees, the weight overwhelming him until suddenly it disappeared, floating in the air.

"There" Izuku looked down the see the girl on her knees, hand outstretched, touching the heavy debris, her ankle looked swollen, clearly injured.

So Izuku put aside his pain and flung the girl over his shoulder and ran, each step sending pain through his arm.

"So you were talking to someone else, I'm so sorry for misjudging you" she said with a shaky grin as Izuku was focusing on not crying.

"Oh don't worry, I found it very entertaining" the wraith's voice spoke, being careful not to reveal itself and frighten the girl with its appearance.

"AND THAT'S TIME! ANYONE WITH INJURIES CAN WAIT FOR MEDICAL ASSISTANCE" Present Mic said as Izuku stopped, dropping onto the floor and forcing the wraith to stop the girl from hitting the ground.

"Sorry about that, and this morning, I didn't mean to offend you" Izuku apologized again to the girl who was nursing her ankle.

"Oh no worries, I think we're even now" she smiled, but Izuku's wraith decided to be an asshole by humming the wedding tune.

"Oh shut up" Izuku blushed, before quickly turning to the girl.

"Not you! Him" Izuku clarified.

"Oi! He took my points!" That same careless student stomped over to Izuku , pushing aside students.

"Thanks to you, I only have 15!" He continued before the running guy named Tenya Iida grabbed his shoulder.

"I suggest you calm down, this is not how a hero should act" he spoke down to the student.

"Well thanks to this guy, I'm not going to be one!" He shouted as he went to punch Iida, but found himself on the ground with a sore stomach and his arm held behind his back, painfully close to breaking.

"Good" the wraith growled, it's appearance causing the other attendees to jump back.

"How many lives have we saved by doing so? How many people have you hurt today with your careless actions? Just a little more pressure and I can really hurt you" The wraith growled as it tilted their arm upwards, drawing a scream from him.

"HEY GLOWING LISTENER, I SUGGEST YOU STOP BEFORE WE HAVE TO TERMINATE YOUR APPLICATION" Present Mic dropped down from above, using his shout to slow his fall.

Without much argument, the wraith let go of the arm, walking back towards Izuku as it slowly dimmed and disappeared.

The careless student quickly got up, looking like he was about to move towards Izuku, only for Present Mic to once again interrupt by slinging his arm over the students shoulder.

"Do me a favour and don't make a scene, walk away" He said threateningly.

The student clearly understood that and did as he was told, leaving the city while nursing his arm.

"Is your quirk, sentient?" Tenya asked as Izuku dragged himself to a wall so he could sit up.

"Yes, he's also a pain in the ass, doesn't shut up" Izuku spoke from 10 months experience.

"Well then, although I disapprove of its methods, thank you for dealing with that menace" Tenya took his leave, conflicted by what he thought of Izuku before Vs now.

"Hey it's Recovery Girl" someone gasped, drawing Izuku's attention as she asked for a show of hands from people who were injured.

Izuku who held up his hand along with the others, after a moment, she got to him and the girl he helped.

"You were very brave for running in with that shoulder, but I personally think it was also very foolish" Recovery Girl complimented then scolded Izuku for his actions.

"Thanks, and sorry?" Izuku was unsure what to say as recovery girl kissed his hand.

He felt his arm recover instantly, though for some reason, he also felt light headed and promptly passed out.

"Oh dear, I didn't think he was that low on energy, best give him a bed" Recovery Girl worried as she waved over two robots.

Two people walked towards the school hospital, one was a tall and lanky blonde, whilst the other was hunched and wearing black along with a scarf.

"You also visiting the ghost kid?" Toshinori asked, he was honestly stunned when the kid ran in despite clearly being in pain, and he was hoping to talk to him.

"Yeah, I met him a few months back, apparently his quirk was activated on that day, and the file said some worrying things that I wish to clarify" Aizawa explained.

When they entered the room they saw Izuku standing with his eyes still closed.

"Midoriya?" They tried to get his attention and he opened his eyes, which shone a deep glowing green that they had trouble looking away from.

"Oh it's you" Izuku said, the Wraith's voice coming out instead.

"Izuku is still unconscious, but I can walk him home if it isn't an issue" he spoke as both nodded, letting him walk past them.

"Don't worry, Izuku will be fine, I've collected his things" he turned to inform before carrying on, closing the door, leaving both teachers confused.

"That was…" Toshinori began.

"Unexpected" Aizawa finished.

Heyo, I'm unsure if I leaned too far into a comedic tone in this chapter, but it mostly just in the parts which I'm sure you've read over and over in different fics, because I'm sure I've read a million different ways Izuku has tripped over a rock by now.

Anyhoo hope you enjoyed, any thoughts or questions you have, don't hesitate to ask and I may answer it in the next author's note, or I may just write the answer out in the next chapter.
