Heyo, just want to say, I am loving that the reviews are just asking for more, makes me feel like a skooma dealer from the elder scrolls, looking at you Onegeria.
Updated(26th February 2023)
Today was the day the results came in, unfortunately it was a school day, which only meant...
"Ha, Izuku actually took the exam!" A classmate brought Izuku's attention back to his classroom.
"Oh poor guy, at least he'll now face reality" another laughed as the rest of the class joined in.
Although All Might himself was now in the area, Izuku taking a hero exam was the most talked about topic of the school.
All the while Izuku sat, silent, letting the waves of insults wash over him, talking to them wouldn't achieve anything and revealing his quirk just felt like he was letting them win.
But his wraith truly enjoyed every second of it.
"They really have no idea!" It cackled as it tied shoelaces together, poked people on the shoulder and even moved their seat before they sat down.
All this made the day a bit more bearable.
"Deku, meet me on the roof after school" Bakugo spoke under his breath as he passed him.
And the day just got worse.
"Chug! Chug! Chug!" Chichi chanted as Shigaraki drank coffee at regular speed.
"It's 10 o'clock" Shigaraki rasped, "and why're you still here?"
"What, a villain needs to follow social norms? Come on, let's have some fun? Let's play games and drink irresponsibly. Let's kill some people who don't deserve it" Chichi suggested.
"No, I have a lot to do today, and I don't want any distractions" Shigaraki sipped his coffee as he looked for areas with high crime rates.
"Well how about I help, and in exchange, you have a drink, just one" Chichi smiled as he hopped off his stool.
"You know where to find a bunch of criminals?" Shigaraki asked.
"Hell yeah, depends on what you want, I know people who can break into shit, people who will kill shit, and I got people who are so mental that you can 'em drop in a crowd and they will do some body juggling" Chichi listed as he tried to grab a drink from behind the bar, before his arm got teleported.
"No service till 11am" Kurogiri said as Chichi removed his hand.
"Oh boy this is going to be a long hour" Chichi chuckled as he grabbed some juice instead.
"Now, tell me where I can find the highest number of villains willing to kill" Shigaraki grinned.
The final bell rang, and after a few people fell over, Izuku made his way to the roof.
"Pretty sure he's going to kick my ass since I went to the exam" Izuku wondered aloud.
"I'm sure there is a better reason than a punishment" the wraith said with a rough idea of what this talk would entail.
The door closing brought Izuku's attention to Bakugo who had been standing there for a few seconds.
"So what? Your quirk is some kind of helper?" Bakugo asked as he leaned against the door.
"I would say I'm impressed, but you have always been smarter than most" the wraith revealed itself, if Bakugo was surprised, he didn't show it.
"So when did this happen? The sludge villain? Before? How long have you kept this from me?" Bakugo asked as a hint of growing anger was in his voice.
"Shortly before the villain" Izuku answered, leaving out some details as the wraith stood next to him.
"So what? Your quirk just activated randomly? Cut the shit, I know you jumped, your helper said as much, but you said you got it before the sludge villain, so why did I find your blood in the alleyway where the sludge villain was apprehended" Bakugo explained his findings and theories, true to the wraith's words, he was a smart one.
With no way of getting anything past Bakugo, Izuku told him everything that happened, including his second death.
All the while Bakugo stayed silent, taking in everything that was said.
"So it was you, you got the villain to let me go, and whatever you did to his soul reduced him to a blubbering mess, was that your quirk?" Bakugo walked towards Izuku.
"Y-yes" Izuku answered, "are you going to tell? I wouldn't blame you" Izuku added, he understood what he did was wrong, but he didn't regret anything.
Bakugo stood, looking at Izuku, red eyes locking with green eyes.
"Tch" was the only sound Bakugo made as he turned, but before he left he said "I'm not going to tell, that slimy fuck deserved it"
Standing alone, Izuku sighed.
"I would've preferred to be beaten up"
Through the door, down the stairs, Bakugo walked into the bathroom, making sure no one was there before he let out a shaky breath, his eyes teared up and his arms began trembling.
A moment later, he left the bathroom, looking as smug as ever.
In an office, a creature of various animals mixed together sat with a cup of tea brewing, although this image would be questionable, this was the principal of UA.
"Come in" he said before his visitor could knock.
"It's freaky how you do that you know" Aizawa said as he entered.
"Oh I know, and what's more? I know why you're here, made your favourite" Nezu hummed as he poured.
"I want Izuku Midoriya in Class A, not B" Aizawa began, ready to argue.
"Already done, I noticed you read his file, so I figured you'd want to keep an eye on him" Nezu replied as he sipped the tea, taking enjoyment at Aizawa's deadpan face.
"If you knew I was going to come here for that, why did you let me?" He asked, annoyed by the rat's mind games.
"Well I need you to choose someone to switch him with, of course" Nezu smiled.
"There's three recommended students in my class, switch him with one of them" Aizawa said as he left the office.
Inko hummed as she prepared a special dinner, today was the day that the acceptance letters went out and she was confident Izuku got in.
While doing so, her eyes landed on a picture showing her and Hisashi with an excited Izuku who held a limited edition All Might figurine.
Although Inko was proud of Izuku and loved him with all her heart, she couldn't help but be worried.
After that horrible day, Izuku grew a burning hatred for villains, even cheering when they were brutally beaten down by heroes.
She knew Izuku had a rightful hate for villains, but she was scared that he may let that hatred control his actions and go too far.
Inko chuckled, shaking the ridiculous thoughts out of her head.
Izuku was one of the nicest and well behaved people she knew, and she wasn't being biased, Izuku wouldn't even hurt a fly.
And she knew for a fact Izuku was determined to stop what happened to him from ever happening to anyone again.
"Hey mom, did the letter arrive?" Izuku asked the moment the door opened he entered, but she wasn't able to answer as the wraith beat her to it.
"It has, watch where you're stepping Izuku" it said as Izuku looked down, seeing the unique wax seal that could only be from UA.
"Oh I must've missed it, sorry Hun" Inko kicked herself for getting distracted.
"Oh no worries, wanna watch it together?" Izuku smiled as he carefully ripped the side of the letter and shook till a disk slid out onto the table.
With Chichi's aid, Shigaraki was able to get a bunch of villains on his side. They originally wanted payment but after he told them his plan to break into UA and use a Nomu to kill the number one hero, most of them were down.
So now that his job to collect villains was hastened dramatically he now had time to properly plan an attack on UA but this also meant he had to take Chichi up on that one drink.
But is it ever just one?
"What shall we do with a drunken sailor? What shall we do with a drunken sailor" Shigaraki and Chichi sang as they completely vandalised a closed mall, both heavily inebriated while they drank enough to kill an elephant.
"Feed em to the hungry rats for dinner, feed em to the hungry rats for dinner" they sang as Shigaraki held his palm on a pillar, weakening it.
"Kurogiri! More drink!" Chichi shouted while Shigaraki cheered.
"As you wish" Kurogiri teleported more drinks from nearby, he would've got them from the bar but it was empty.
"Way hay and up she rises, way hay and up she rises!"
Shigaraki was dancing on a countertop as he kicked the decorations off, shattering them.
"Let's bring this whole house down!" Chichi shouted as he ran through glass, emerging with many cuts but that didn't get rid of his smile.
For the next few moments the both of them destroyed as much as they could, Shigaraki focusing on the support structures and Chichi using the fire he started to heat up some cold meats.
Unfortunately their fun was cut short by a security guard shining a light at them, however they were not too bothered by this inconvenience.
"Check this out" Chichi giggled as blood came out his cuts, all focusing on his hand as he made a finger gun with his... fingers.
"And Bang!" The blood shot through the security guard's light and into his lungs.
"Ahh shit I missed" he said, more annoyed that he failed than the fact he caused more suffering to the gargling security guard.
"I got this" Shigaraki stumbled over to the guard's prone body and laid his hand on his face, with the last of the air in the guard's punctured lung, he screamed in agony as his face fell in on itself.
"Woah, that was awesome!" Chichi cheered before he fell onto the floor however he made no attempt to get up, instead opting to rest his head on the dead security guard and munch on his charred meat, passing a couple chicken drumsticks to Shigaraki.
"No, you're awesome, I've never had this much fun" Shigaraki slurred as he joined Chichi on the floor, also using the guard's corpse as a head rest.
"Yeah, I get that alot, I like to think of myself as a liberator of...stuff" Chichi laughed as he reached into the pile of cans.
"But man I gotta ask, is Kurogiri your dad or butler or whatever Bruce Wayne has?" Chichi wondered.
"You wanna know, I actually killed my dad, he was an asshole" Shigaraki laughed loudly in his drunken stupor.
"No way! so did I! and my dad was also an ass, you're like a brother with a different mother...and set of genes" Chichi downed another drink as Shigaraki looked at him stunned.
"So how'd you do it?" Shigaraki asked, curious.
"Well my quirk works by being in contact with blood, so when my dad was training his MMA skills on me I poked his neck" Chichi said as he showed off his claws.
"And turned him into bloody hedgehog" Chichi laughed, Shigaraki joining though for a very short second he wondered.
'why can't I remember?' but that was quickly dismissed.
"Man, you're like my perfect player 2" Shigaraki said with total seriousness in his voice.
"And in a few days we can kill the final boss of...well heroes" Chichi cheered as he and Shigaraki bashed their drinks together.
"To the bloody bastards!" Shigaraki yelled, echoing throughout the mall.
"Fuck yeah! To the bloody bastards!" They chanted as they smashed their cans together, getting alcohol all over themselves as they laughed.
However when you drink too much, there comes a point, and Shigaraki had just reached that point.
"Oh shit, I'm gonna be sick" Shigaraki groaned.
"Wanna puke off the roof and onto bystanders?"
"Dude, get out of my head"
"SO I WELCOME YOU. TO YOUR HERO ACADEMIA" All Might finished with a smile before the hologram retreated into the disk.
Many used tissues littered the living room where the Midoriyas sat, and more were being used since they were both crying fountains of joy.
"My baby! You made it!" Inko had her son in a hug as he cried.
"I..did..it, after all this...I did it" Izuku had trouble believing what he just saw.
"We did it Izuku, don't take all the credit" his wraith playfully scolded.
In the letter were a card with Izuku's name and face on it with some forms on uniform sizes and costume!
"Ahh! I get to design my costume!?" Izuku shouted excitedly.
Immediately Izuku grabbed his notebook, something the wraith also did with its own wraith notebook.
As Izuku flicked over the many ideas he had, he couldn't find one he liked.
"Use this as the base, we can think of looking cool after" the wraith showed him his idea.
"Since death is more of a hassle than an end, we'll need to focus on preventing a quick death, so there would be thick armour protecting our heart and lungs while still allowing mobility" the wraith explained it's sketch, however Izuku wasn't listening, he was locked in a stare down with his mother.
"What do you mean 'death is more of a hassle', Izuku, what is he talking about?"
"Oh dear"
Aizawa was currently browsing on his computer, though this wasn't his usual cute cat comps, this was camera footage, hero and police reports and finally autopsy reports.
Next to him, was Izuku's file, and his written exam papers.
A long time ago, when he was in his second year of being a fully fledged hero, he remembered a hostage situation that went wrong, he was called to disable the quirk, but the heroes acted before he got there.
It was a classic case of a villain taking a hostage, and was using them to keep the heroes at bay, the villain was covered up so they didn't know if this was a first time offender, or a cold blooded killer, however the villain got distracted.
Instead of being smart and using a long range quirk to deal with him, a hero whose quirk was short ranged acted alone and rushed the villain, was it out of desire to be famous, or was it desperation? No one knew as both the hero and hostage were killed.
The hostage was Hisashi Midoriya.
And the worst part. Izuku was there, covered in his father's blood.
Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed.
Seeing that same kid at the entrance exams and how he and his quirk reacted when another examinee got careless, it worried Aizawa, that yet another child will go into heroics for revenge and end up dead because of it.
That's why Aizawa wanted to be the one to guide him to be the best hero he could be and forget about revenge.
After Izuku told his mother about his deaths, she cried for a while, Izuku staying to calm her. Eventually she cried herself to sleep on the couch.
Izuku carried her to her room, and shared the room with her.
"I'm sorry Izuku, I-" the wraith began but even it couldn't forgive itself for causing so much distress, disappearing before Izuku could reply.
"It's ok, she would've found out sooner or later" Izuku said, not noticing his wraith was gone.
And as Izuku fell asleep, that same dream came to him.
The shop, the shadowy figure holding his dad and then.
Blood.
"Iz...u...kuu" were the last words of his father as his throat gushed into a spray that acted like a red mist and allowed the villain to escape.
Over and over this scene repeated.
"Iz...u..kuu"
Meanwhile the wraith was also in his dream watching, as it always did.
"Your nightmares are my nightmares, every night I see this, I try to stop it, but it doesn't matter in the end" the wraith spoke to no one, Izuku wouldn't hear him in this state.
"Ahhh" the shadowy figure got grabbed by a bright arm.
"But it's worth it, for this moment, a moment of hope" the wraith said as it glowed, brighter and brighter, and the shadow grew weaker and smaller.
"Let this hope be the light that burns away all shadow!" The wraith shouted as the shadow disappeared.
"I couldn't save dad back then, so I will do what I have always done" the wraith continued to glow, everytime the dream repeated, the shadow was burned away.
"I will be the light, and together, we will become too bright for any shadow to remain".
Heyo, so I hope you aren't too annoyed by my introduction of Chichi, but I wanted a villain with some sort of personality that can bring some fun to the villain side, as well as act like a captain would from Shadow of Mordor/war.
But regarding characters, any thoughts on my choice of personality regarding Izuku and his wraith? I'm trying to keep a serious yet light hearted tone but I'm not sure if I'm going too hard into comedy.
Anyhoo, I'm sure you aren't here to read me rambling so I'll let you go, till again.
