Byleth is currently seated across from Nezu, having a sort of staring contest with him, but instead of not blinking, the goal of this contest seems to be to make the other participant speak first. Byleth knows this game, she'd played it many a time with her father while growing up, and she had never once lost.

After nearly fifteen minutes of silence Nezu sighs and speaks first, "Well then, Ms. Eisner, was it? I'd like to know more about you, especially the reasons as to why Aizawa can't erase what seems to be a perfectly normal Emitter-type Quirk. I'm sure Seteth could tell me all about you, given how close you two seem to be, but I want to hear it from the source."

Byleth nods, "Well, like Seteth, I wasn't born in Japan. I traveled all over with my father for his job, never stopping in one place for too long. Eventually, we had to settle down, and when we did I picked up a job as a teacher, passing on my knowledge of different weapons and combat tactics, the position didn't last very long however. I was forced to resign from the position approximately three months after the unfortunate passing of my father, having only worked it the length of one school year. Afterwards I did some wandering of my own before coming to settle in Japan. As for why my 'Quirk' can't be erased, your guess is as good as mine."

Seteth lets out a silent sigh, 'Interesting, she didn't lie, she just didn't give all of the necessary context. She seems to have done well, Nezu isn't showing any of his usual signs of suspicion.' Meanwhile, Nezu is internally cackling to himself, 'My oh my, you two are certainly an enigma! That little speech may have fooled someone else, but I'm a little harder to trick than that! You're not completely lying, but you two are definitely hiding something! Oh, this will be so fun!'

Nezu clears his throat, "Seteth, as you are familiar with Ms. Eisner, I'd like you to inform me of the validity of these claims." A small smile crosses Seteth's face, "Of course sir. I was actually an advisor to the headmaster of the institution where Byleth taught for many years, and my daughter even attended for a time when Byleth was in their employ, receiving instruction from her directly. She is a most excellent teacher with whom I feel I can trust my own child."

Byleth gives a slight smile at the praise as Nezu laughs, "Oh my! That's quite high praise from someone as protective as you! Now then, why don't you two wait out in the hall while I deliberate, I have quite the decision to make after all!"

Nodding and each giving a respectful bow, the two ancients exit Nezu's office. Upon the closing of the door, Byleth turns to Seteth with a raised eyebrow and the barest hint of a wry smile, "So, she's finally your daughter again instead of your sister? Flayn must have been so excited to finally be able to call you father in public."

Seteth lets out a chuckle, "Well, with the advancements that humans have made over the years, keeping that precaution no longer seemed necessary, and with the tests they have nowadays there is little chance the lie would stand up to much scrutiny."

Byleth grimaces, "Speaking of not standing up to scrutiny, how did you get your legal papers? I managed to get mine cobbled together, but I doubt they'll be convincing enough if someone like Nezu takes a look at them." Seteth nods, a thoughtful expression on his face, "Yes, that is troubling. I can put you in contact with someone who can help, but it will not be easy, nor will it be inexpensive. Can you handle any costs that come with it?" Byleth gives a resolute nod and a steady silence falls over the two.

Byleth quickly checks around herself and Seteth before leaning in, "How much does he know?" Seteth grimaces and whispers, "As far as I am aware, nothing major, but he suspects something. We must cover our tracks well and act as normal Japanese citizens, otherwise who can say what will be found out?"

Nodding seriously, Byleth returns to her normal posture before letting out a sigh, "Hopefully I don't get arrested for this… Honestly, the one time I decide to break the law, and it's when my neighbor who just so happens to be a Pro Hero is nearby."

Seteth chuckles slightly, "Yes, I do believe that is rather unfortunate, but it has reunited us, so it cannot be seen as entirely bad." Byleth raises an eyebrow, a smirk steadily growing on her face, "You say that like we're long lost lovers, being brought back together after years of separation for a heartfelt and tearful reunion."

A string blush creeps onto Seteth's face, "I can assure you that was not my intention! I was merely referring to the meeting of old friends, nothing more!" Byleth giggles, "I know what you meant Seteth, I'm just teasing! There's no need to be so defensive about it." Seteth recomposes himself, "I see, well then, I would ask that you not repeat this action in the future, but your reaction tells me you may not listen."

Byleth is about to respond, but they're interrupted by Nezu's door creaking open and the creature poking his head out, "Well, sorry to interrupt your conversation, but could you two please join me back in here? I have something I'd like to discuss with the both of you." Nodding slowly, Byleth and Seteth move to rejoin Nezu in his office, uneasy of what the Principal of UA might have in store for them.
