In last chapter's notes was said that the other child would be introduced. But well... the chapters concerning that became longer, and longer, and longer... they're now over 30k words on its own... so we need some more time to figure out how to post that. Either way, enjoy this chapter of their little family of three.

Today they were going to the petting zoo. Ace had suggested it, saying it would be good for their daughter to interact with animals, and definitely not because he wanted to go and see the cute little animals himself.

So, here they were, walking around the petting zoo, already having gone past the goat's and the bunnies. Marco was carrying Marcy to their next stop as she suddenly called for him "Papa, papa! There! Puff puff!" She pointed to some yellow balls in the distance.

"Haha okey okay, calm down-yoi, I'm walking." He adjusted his hold on her as he walked closer and closer. Slowly he started to notice what she had been looking at "Oh no"

Getting close, the yellow puff balls where babies. Babies of... His worst enemies... "Chickens."

Marcy wiggled in his arms for him to let her down and see them, but he simply held on tighter, not letting her go, he had to protect his daughter.

Ace watched how his husband looked horrified and seemed to shield their daughter, he put a hand on his back, "Come on, Marco, let her see them."

"Puff, puff!" Marcy yelled and started to tear up as she couldn't get down.

"But..." With terrified eyes he looks at the squeaking chicks not far away, a hand moving to his shoulder made him look towards his husband. He's looking into his eyes with a soft look, not judging him for what others may call a childish fear.

"It's okay Marco, she'll be fine. These chickens are used to children running around, they're not going to hurt her."

"..."

"I'll be there if something were to happen, you don't need to go close to them yourself, I promise."

Marco looked down to his daughter and kissed her head. "Stay close to daddy... Papa is going to sit down over there." He turned with her in his arms and pointed at bench several feet away from the chickens before handing her over to Ace.

Ace smiled and squeezes Marco's shoulder, leaning in for a quick peck. "We'll be back soon, don't worry."

After several minutes of playing with the chicks, Marcy was able to catch one of them in her hands and she giggled. Ace smiled at his daughter before going terrified as she ran off to Marco, baby chicken in her hands.

Being a lot taller, Ace was able to catch up to her and stand in front of his husband, blocking Marcy's path. "Daddy! Show papa!" she said out loud as she held out the chick in her hands.

"No, no sweetie. Papa doesn't like chicks, he can see them from here."

Marcy frowned and looked at the little fluff ball in her hands, "Papa... no like?"

Marco who had taken a moment to respond to a message from one of his brothers, looked up and noticed Ace was six feet away from him, blocking their daughter whom was holding a... "A-ah" His face paled slightly.

Ace heard a gasp from behind him and knew Marco had seen the chick. He made sure to take a step closer to him and block his view more, also letting him know that he'll deal with this. "Yea, Papa doesn't like them. Just like Marcy didn't like those spiders in the shed, papa doesn't like chickens. So, how about we take this chicken back to the rest hmm? We can still play with them, just not this close to papa, okay?"

Looking down at chick in her hands, she glanced between it and her parents as some tears formed her eyes. "Okay," she said softly, and let her daddy lead her back to the other chick's. Marco gave a sigh and held his chest, thankful for his husband's quick actions.

Later that night, Marco was putting Marcy to bed after her bath, and she looked at Marco, "Why papa no wike chicken?"

Marco tells her a short story that chickens hurt him when he was little, and thus he's a bit scared of them. He didn't do into to much detail of what happened, the little girl wouldn't understand it anyway.

Hearing it, Marcy frowned and hugged her papa. When she let go, she reached over and threw the small chick plush she had had on her bed off it and towards the wall. "Bad." she said as she looked at the fallen plushy on the ground.

Marco smiled and hugged her, "I love you sweetie." He kissed her head. "Thank you." Giving one more kiss he wished her goodnight, "Goodnight sweetheart, love you."

"Wove Papa too." She kissed his cheek. Marco finished tucking her in and flicked on her night light before leaving and closing the door, leaving it opened slightly.

Going down to the living room, he laid down on top of his husband who was laying on the couch and buried his face in his in his chest as emotions overwhelmed him a bit.

Ace let him lay on top of him and gently stroked his back. After a few moments he asked what had happened.

"She threw away her chicken plushy for me."

This made the raven quirk an eyebrow, "... Her favourite one, that fluff ball?"

"Yea, even said that it was bad" Marco gave a soft laugh muddled by his tears, "She asked why I didn't like chickens, so I told her that chickens had hurt me when I was little... She didn't even it doubt, Ace. Plucked it right up from her bed and threw it away."

Smiling Ace kissed his husband's head and wrapped his arms around him, "We've got an amazing daughter."
