Main story, chapter three : Where Anakin isn't that exceptional, relatively speaking, and the Skywalker saga is a bit different

Qui-Gon was just proclaiming the child to be the Chosen One of prophesy when Dooku entered the Council chamber. "Allow me to doubt that" he said by the way of greeting "high midichlorian count is not unprecedented in the Skywalker family".

Once the upset of his appearance was dealt with, Dooku gave what was, to the best of his knowledge, the truth. "If the Council allows me to side-track, I would start by reminding its members of the unlikely circumstances which led me to take Obi-Wan Kenobi as my padawan learner. You all know I became his master when he was seventeen, upon his former master death. What you probably ignore is that his first master was a freighter captain by the name of Han Solo, who was in no way a Jedi or even Force sensitive. He had, however, relatives who were and a tale about the Skywalker family. I do not know which credit should be accorded to this tale, as it is singularly far-fetched. On the other hand, Han Solo broached in its course concepts he should, by all right, not have been privy to.

It begins when an unnamed Jedi master, accompanied by his senior padawan, discovered a lad answering to the name of Skywalker. I'm afraid his first name was never used when speaking of him. His midichlorian count was over twenty thousands, but similarly to young Anakin he was too old to be trained. He was also in the sights of a powerful Dark Sider who planned to make him become his apprentice. The Jedi master was killed by the then apprentice of the aforementioned Dark Sider and extracted from his padawan the promise to train Skywalker. I do not know why the padawan did not seek the Council wisdom or the Temple help. I believe the master and padawan pair had by then already left the Order for some times, because after the padawan finished forming Skywalker, the last one wed. But I get ahead of myself. The padawan was referred as "Ben" but it was implied it mays be an alias.

Some times after his master death, he killed his killer. By the time the Dark Sider I mentioned, referred as "Palpy", most probably a fake name or a diminutive of sort created by Solo himself, renewed his interest in Skywalker, he had already two children, Luke the elder, and Leia the younger. By threatening his wife, the Dark Sider engineered the fall of Skywalker, offering apparently benevolently a cure in the form of an old Sith technic if Skywalker was to become his apprentice. A cure, powerful enough to bring back a loved one from the brink of death for the cost of another life. Skywalker accepted, fell and despite his effort could not save his wife as it appears his new master employed the cure to her detriment, aiming to preserve Skywalker, grievously wounded by his former master. Ben fled with both children, gave the younger to an Alderaani family so she would be raised, and took Luke as his padawan learner.

On the subject of high midichlorian count, it can be noted that Luke count was a little below seventeen thousands, and his sister a little over this number. Skywalker, now bearing the moniker of Darth Vader, sought to turn his children and make them his apprentices. Ben ability to hid them diminished with time and Leia was caught, but managed to send coordinates and information about an unprecedented weapon of mass destruction. I admit I was so struck by the tale that I did not enquire as of the nature of the weapon. Ben was subsequently killed during the rescue of Leia, but their operation was a success as the weapon was definitely disabled. Darth Vader, whom I cannot ascertain whether he was just an arrogant Dark Sider or really a Sith Lord, then chased his children until he cornered his son and offered to take him as his apprentice. The offer was singularly badly formulated as it included an amputated hand and a revelation of fatherhood. Luke Skywalker chose to make a suicidal leap and was caught by his sister, before they escaped their father clutches.

Afterwards, Luke Skywalker got the ridiculous idea he could bring back his father from the Dark Side by engineering a situation reproducing his Fall. He surrendered himself to "Palpy", got tortured but convinced his father to make a bid to power. The two Dark Siders killed each other. Solo said Luke claimed Vader returned to the Light moments before his death and share this opinion, despite being poised against Vader from past tortures.

Later on, Solo wed Leia with whom he had a son, Ben, midichlorian count of near fifteen thousand. During that time, Luke was tying loose ends left by "Palpy" and found that he planned to become immortal by a transfer of conscience through the bodies of clones. He ignored at the time Palpy managed his goal and only found a clone who had run away, discovering why he was created. I do not know why, but he entered a relationship with the daughter of that clone, and himself had a daughter, Rey Skywalker, midichlorian count of twenty-two thousand. Indeed, twenty-two. The test was done five times on two different machines, with always the same results.

Ben Solo, then a padawan of his uncle, fell, lured by Palpy and attempted to kill his parents. I said attempted, because Solo remembered taking a mortal wound and surviving despite receiving no immediate care. Most probably the famous Sith cure, considering his wife did not survive the attempt, despite having been trained in the Force. Luke Skywalker cloistered himself in the forgotten Temple of Ach-To, whom Solo gave me the coordinates along his tale. They were, surprisingly, correct. Solo hypothesis was that the clone or his daughter sought to ensure Rey safety by hiding her in an out of the way planet, Jakku. His basis is their disappearance and Palpy claiming their death to Rey, later on. Rey Skywalker grew up on Jakku, until Solo himself found her and brought her to Luke. Meeting his daughter was enough to sort him out of his prostration, and he subsequently took her as his padawan.

Having formed her enough he trusted her safety, Luke Skywalker resolved himself to confront his first padawan. At the last moment, he decided to spare him. A bad move in the heart of a Dark Sider lair, which costed him his life. It is probably this imprudence which led Palpy to discover Rey Skywalker existence. He sought to replace his current apprentice, Ben Solo, with his more powerful granddaughter. Ben Solo wished to avenge this treachery, Rey Skywalker her former master and father. They teamed up and killed Palpy. Not for the first time since the begin of this tale, I might note. Ben Solo died during the fight and Rey Skywalker elected to return on Tatooine, her family home world. I infer she mays be young Skywalker mother."

Eyes turned toward Anakin Skywalker who answered before another Councilor could address the other important points in Dooku speech "My mom is called Shmi, but Skywalker come from Mom's mom. I don't know her name, Mom never spoke about her".

"Which close up the subject of the prophesy but open another can of worms" noted Mace Windu, before Qui-Gon interjected : "If this story prove true, it does not answer the absence of a father. Shmi was quite categoric and the Force ascertained her words". Anakin fidgeted, attracting attention and feel obligated to elaborate when eyes settled on him "Plenty of women have kids alone. I don't understand why its exceptional I don't have a father. Half of the kids in the slave quarters are the same".

As it was not the most important subject at hand, Anakin was ushered out of the room along Qui-Gon Jinn and Dooku thoroughly interrogated as of why this tale never got told before. His beliefs broken by Anakin simple words, Qui-Gon ambled away, forgetting he was not alone. Anakin lingered confused before the Council room doors, as his placement inside the Order had not yet been decided. When Padawan Kenobi arrived half-an-hour later due to the comm call of his master, he found a child thoroughly distressed before the doors of an audibly fiercely arguing Council.

Obi-Wan was aware he owed Master Dooku his place in the Order, but he never forgot the way Han Solo picked him up on a ship set toward Bandomeer. He spared a minute to calm the child, then got engrossed hearing the reason of his distress. After ascertaining Anakin was a far-of parent of Han Solo and that Qui-Gon Jinn was the reason of this cluster-fuck, Obi-Wan took the time to call one of his friends to help Anakin with the entrance papers inside the Order, before heading inside the Council rooms.
