Chapter 6
Meredith
"Derek" I couldn't even think straight, I was in shock, pretty sure everyone was, even when Arizona touched my arm I didn't react. How could I? The man I thought, we all thought, was dead is standing in front of me, clearly breathing with no marks on him "how" shaking my head "I" I stand "no" I point at him "no, just no" shaking my head turning I go into the house "Meredith" he calls after me, following me, I stop just before the door, turning to face him. Flashbacks of that day in that crappy hospital flood my mind. "you were dead, I watched you die, in that crappy hospital in the middle of nowhere"
"yes, you did" he nods
"I watched you take your last breath" shaking my head, the shock of him standing right in front of me still hasn't wore off, he nods "then how the hell are you…" I can't even finish my thoughts. This was insane, I must have a tumor, "I know, Meredith, it" he stops, I see him take a deep breath "it was all an act"
"what?" at this point I'm shaking from how mad I am "I was that bad of a wife that the only way to get away from me was to fake your own death?"
"Meredith, let me explain" he says calmly, reaching out to me "no" I look him square in the eye "you don't get to explain" shaking my head "why now, why now when I'm finally happy, do you" shaking my head again "no" I turn and walk into the house, I can feel him following me, I stop in the living room and he runs into me "just let me explain"
"you got 5 minutes" I say sitting down on the couch, even though I don't want to hear it "good" he smiles and sits in the chair "I love what you've done with the place" he smiles, then laughs "it was Arizona wasn't it?" I glare at him "4 minutes" he turns to me the smile falls from his face. "I'm sorry, I needed to make it look like I was dead, I've been working with the president, on a secret trial and someone found out and was after me. The only way to make sure I wasn't in any danger was to fake my death and go back to DC as someone else" I shake my head "so, so you knew about this when you told me to wait for you?"
"well" he's quiet a minute, lets out a sigh "yes, I knew it was going to happen but I just didn't know how or when"
"I" closing my eyes "I don't understand we were" I can't even form words, looking at him "so who the fuck are you now?" he looks at me and says "Darren Masterson, Dr. Darren Masterson"
"oh my god" Amelia shrieks "you are alive"
"Amy" he turns to face her, and I turn to, Addison is standing there next to Amelia "Addie"
"you've got some explaining to do" Amelia says moving into the room.
"excuse me I just want to" Arizona says and she moves past the group, I see her head up the stairs and disappear. My heart breaks a little, but I have to deal with this right now. "no, no" I stand and go to the bathroom. Slamming the door I lock it and fall down crying. The world really is a fucked up place, and if there is a god, why the fuck does he keep messing with me?

Arizona
"who was that?" my mom asks I look at her, I could already feel that I was losing everything. "Derek" I say
"Derek" I could tell she was trying to figure out where she knew the name "as in her husband"
"yes mom"
"isn't he dead?"
"that's what we thought" Callie says, putting her arm around me
"then, how?" she stops talking and looks at me. "what are you going to do?" I'm in shock right now, I can't imagine how Meredith is feeling. I look at Callie, "can I stay with you?" she doesn't hesitate and nods. I just saw Amelia and Addison enter the house. Looking around I see that everyone is getting ready to leave. "Alex" I call out to him, he looks at me giving me a sad smile "did, did you know?"
"no Arizona I didn't know" he shakes his head
"I'm going to pack a bag and go to Callie's will you make sure Meredith is ok?"
"yes" he says nodding, then pulls me in for a hug "it'll be ok, she loves you" that was the moment I broke down. Just a few hours ago we were pledging our love for each other and now, I don't even know where I stand. But one thing I do know is that I love her enough to let her go, I pull back from Alex and head into the house. They were in the living room, which I had to go through to get upstairs. "excuse me I just want to" I say sneaking by Addison. I quickly climb the stairs and find my bag in the closet, making sure to grab what I will need, almost forgetting my crutches, but I grab them. Quietly I made my way down the stairs and out the front door without anyone seeing me. Luckily, I didn't have much to drink, and the house wasn't too far. Pulling into the driveway, I get out of the car and head into the house. Totally forgetting, I left my parents at the party, until I walked into the living room where they were sitting, Callie was putting Sofia to bed. "Arizona, come sit"
"I just want to be alone mom" I say and head into the guest room. Setting my bag on the bed, I sat down next to it. How did everything get all fucked up? There was a knock on the door, "go away" I call out to whoever it was, it slowly opens and Callie pokes her head in "I know you want to be alone, but" she says moving into the room, I hear the door click shut. Shaking my head, these damn people don't know when to leave you alone. "I just" she says sitting down on the bed next to me "I just need to make sure you're alright" I look at her, meeting her eyes "oh I'm fanfuckigntastic" she shakes her head. "I just, why is the universe out to get me?" she gives me a sad smile "I don't know"
"I mean, every damn time I get happy" I just let my thoughts flow out of my mouth "shooters in the hospital, a truck coming out of nowhere, planes falling out of the sky"
"Arizona" Callie says softly but I ignore her "when do I get my happily ever after" this was when I lost it, I feel Callie pull me into her arms, holding me close. Not saying anything, she just held me.

Meredith
Coming out of the bathroom when I hear Amelia and Addison start yelling at him, I look around, and realize everyone had left. Everyone including Arizona. Walking into the kitchen where I find Cristina, Maggie and Alex "where's Arizona?"
"she, ah" Maggie starts to say but looks at Alex who says "she's at Callie's"
"why?" I was confused, why would my wife leave me on our wedding day.
"well" Alex says pointing to the living room where Amelia is screaming and crying.
"she left me?" this was when I completely lost it, I didn't care about the man standing in the living room, I cared about my wife.
"Meredith" Alex reaches for me pulling me in, he holds me "remember when she showed up here with Sofia and tickets to New York for Callie?" I nod "she did that because she loved Callie enough to let her go"
"she loves me so she left me"
"Derek is back" Cristina says
"he's the love of your life, she left so you could be with him" Maggie adds
"no" I shake my head "Arizona is the love of my life, I don't even know that man in there" I point into the living room. "Derek is dead, that man in there" I shake my head "yes he's in Derek's body, but that's not him. The Derek Shephard I knew and loved wouldn't have left his family that way" I say getting louder so he could hear me. "Meredith" not Derek says standing in the doorway "I'm sorry"
"fuck off" I yell at him, and step closer "today of all days, why today?"
"I didn't know" he says looking at me "I didn't know you were getting married today, I had heard you and Arizona had gotten together" he pauses, I look at him to see how he honestly feels about it "which is great by the way. You always said you were attracted to her" I hear Cristina and Alex mumbling something to each other. "look, I'm sorry ok, I just want to make sure the kids are alright"
"the kids are fine" I growl "Arizona and I have been taking good care of them"
"where are they?" he asks
"not here, thank god" I look between Cristina, Maggie and Alex, I actually don't know where my kids are right now. "Ben and Bailey took them home" Alex says, and I let out a sigh of relief. "did they get Ellis's blanket, you know she can't sleep without her blanket"
"I ran up and grabbed it for her" he smiles
"thank you"
"who is Ellis? Did you and Arizona have a child?" not Derek asks confused
"no you fucking idiot" I scream "I was pregnant"
"what?" he looks at me mouth agape
"I found out after you died"
"and you named her Ellis?" I nod
"Derek" Amelia says "I have pictures" she holds out her phone
"I need to call Arizona" I say leaving the room. In my room I see her crutches are gone, and the closet door is open. Retrieving my phone from the bedside table I quickly type in the lock code and hit Arizona's name. It rang and rang, until the voicemail picked up. I hung up, I wanted to talk to her not her voicemail. Catching myself in the mirror I realize I'm still in my dress, sighing I pull it over my head and toss it across the room. Searching through the drawers I pulled out a shirt of Arizona's and smell it, it smells like her so I put it on along with some shorts, and crawl into bed. Just for good measure I dial Arizona's number again, again getting the voice mail. I send a text instead, plug my phone in making sure the ringer is turned on and loud, I lay down, grabbing her pillow. That was when the tears came, and the heartbreak set in. I'm pissed off about Derek, but what hurts is Arizona leaving me. I don't know how to live without her anymore, and I don't know if I want to.

Arizona
When I opened my eyes, I prayed it was all a dream, but rolling over in this strange bed, alone and a look around the pretty much empty room, I knew it was reality. Letting out a deep sigh, I roll over. I wasn't ready to face the day, let alone life without Meredith. It had been a week since that day, I had packed a bag and went to stay with Callie. Letting out another deep sigh, I'd been hurt before, Tim's death almost killed me, and the heartbreak that Callie left me with, I thought I'd never get over, but I did, and managed to fall in love again, but there's nothing I can do about this. Derek was back and I was out. I had a thought that our marriage wasn't even legal, but was told since Derek was officially dead that it was. I'm not going to be the one to file for divorce, if she wants it she can do it. A thought crossed my mind, that I was happy we didn't go through with the adoption, we had talked about me adopting Zola, Bailey, and Ellis, but now that wouldn't happen, they have their dad back. A tear slipped out of my eye; I was surprised the pillow wasn't soaked with them seeing that's all I've been doing for the past week. There's a knock at the door, and I hear it creak open "Arizona" rolling my eyes "go away Callie" I hear her let out a sigh, and feel the bed dip "I would but Maggie just called"
"why do I care"
"she needs you, Arizona"
"she's got Derek"
"no" Callie says, I turn to look at her "no honey, she doesn't have Derek" I'm confused "he came back?" she nods "he did come back, but it wasn't for Meredith, it turns out he just wanted to see the kids" she gives me a sad smile. "Maggie also said that Meredith is more hurt about you leaving than she is that he lied to her" I can feel the tears prick my eyes "go away Callie" I say I just wanted to cry in peace.
"fine but call your wife" she stands tossing my phone at me.
"I don't have a wife" I yell, as the door is shut, I pull the blanket up over my head as the tears fall. I'm not sure how much time has passed when I hear the door creak open again, and the little voice say "mommy are you alright?" great she sent our daughter in to talk to me "mommy?" Sofia says coming into the room, I feel the bed dip as she climbs up on it, laying down next to me I feel her wrap her little arms around me "I know you're sad, I'm sad too, but momma says you need to talk to Meredith" I pull the blanket off my head so I can look at my daughter. It breaks my heart when she reaches out and wipes the tears away. That was when I realized I needed to get up, reaching for my phone, I saw it was dead. Of course it was, it's been a week since I've used it. Callie has been taking care of everything, and since I was off work, because we were supposed to be on our trip, I didn't need it. "Sof honey can you go in my bag and grab my phone charger."
"ok mommy" she says getting off the bed, she has been a big help. I couldn't bring myself to put on my leg, so between Callie and Sofia, they've been waiting on me. Alex and Richard have been here a few times, along with April and Teddy, I even think I heard Bailey's voice once or twice, but no one has come in a few days. "here you go mommy" Sofia says holding out the cord "can you plug it into the wall for me baby" I ask softly, she nods and does just that, then hands me the end. I plug it into my phone and wait, I never let it go this dead, so it takes some time before I am able to turn it on. Sofia had climbed back into the bed with me, laying her head on my stomach. I look down at her "I'm sorry I'm such a mess"
"its ok, as long as you get better and talk to aunt Mer"
"sweetheart, I don't think that will make any difference"
"why?" she asks sitting up, those brown eyes full of confusion
"well you see, that man"
"Darren?" Sofia says
"that's his name now?" she nods
"I know all about that, I'm 9 remember, momma and aunt Maggie told me" I nod and let out a sigh "I think you should call her" she climbs over me and reaches for my phone, holding it out to me. I see it's now charged enough to where I can turn it on, so I do just that, and wait. It always takes so long for these phones to start up it felt like I was waiting forever. When the screen finally comes on I feel a pull at my heart at the lock screen picture. It was Meredith and I with all four of the kids, me holding Ellis. "I love that picture" Sofia smiles.
"me too baby girl" as the phone comes to life it starts beeping and vibrating with all the emails and messages I have missed. Ignoring the emails, I'm on vacation those can wait. A text message catches my eye and I open it "I don't know where you are, but I wish you'd answer me" ~ M and another "Arizona please talk to me"~ M, and another "Arizona, I love you, please"~ M. There was more, but I didn't read them.
"mommy"
"Sof, would you mind going and seeing what your momma is doing, I" I pause "I need to be alone"
"momma said not to leave until you're up"
"I'm up" I give her a sad smile "here I'll prove it" I set my phone on the table and reach for my crutches, and stand. "I'm headed to the bathroom" Sofia claps her hands "I did it" I can't help but laugh a little, and nod "yes you did baby girl"

It's been a week since Arizona left, and I'm a complete mess. Finding out my husband faked his death, and is still alive floored me, but what hurt the most was having my wife leaving and not return any of my calls or texts. I knew where she was, and that she was safe, but I needed her. Through my talk with Derek, I knew it was Arizona I wanted now. And when I found out he was married and had a new family back where he lives, and he was just here seeing the kids, it didn't hurt like I thought it would, what hurt was not having my best friend next to me. I haven't heard from her at all, and that was killing me, so here I am, laying in bed staring blankly at the wall. I hear my phone vibrate on the nightstand and I reach for it seeing Arizona's name I quickly answer "hey"
"hey"
"how" I start to say when she starts talking too, we both stop and giggle "how are you?" I ask
"I'm" she lets out a sigh "I don't know how I am truthfully, you?"
"I'd be better if you were with me?"
"Meredith" she says letting out a breath
"Arizona you just left; you left without talking to me"
"he's back"
"yes, but"
"no, he's back, and you're" I cut her off "Arizona he didn't come back for me, he just wanted to see the kids" she doesn't say anything, I let out a deep sigh "Arizona I love you, please come home so we can talk"
"talk about what?"
"my god you're" I can't even get it out, shaking my head "can we talk please" I hear her let out a breath "I can't" she says and the line goes silent. "fucking hell" I say tossing my phone on the bed.
"you ok?" I hear and look up seeing Amelia standing in the doorway. "she won't talk to me"
"maybe you should go over there, it's hard to ignore someone when they're standing right in front of you"
"you'd know"
"I would" she nods and comes into the room "I know you're confused about Derek"
"confused" I look at her "I'm fucking pissed"
"me too" she nods "but he's got a new life now, he's moved on"
"I know this, and so have I, but I can't get that through to my wife"
"are you two even legally married?" leave it to Amelia to be blunt. Letting out a sigh "I called a lawyer" I say nodding "and since Derek Shephard no longer exists, it means my marriage to Arizona is totally and completely legal" I could see the hurt in her eyes, but she put a smile on her face. "so get cleaned up and either Maggie or I will drive you over to Callie's"
"I really"
"nope, you aren't getting out of this, go shower, you smell" she looks around the room "it smells in here, and not like sex, like it usually does"
"get out" I say pointing towards the door, she laughs turns toward the door "shower" she says pointing towards the bathroom. I nod and stand, making my way to the bathroom.

Sofia had done it, she got me out of bed, and showered. After calling Meredith, I'm now sitting at the kitchen table, just finishing lunch, Callie had warmed up some leftovers from the night before. I didn't realize how hungry I was. Guess that happens when you barely eat for a week. Looking around the house, it was mine, but it looked completely different. I was glad I hadn't sold it, and Callie was able to take it. She's been great the last week, I know we have a rocky past, but what we are now is better than any other friendship I've ever had. People think it's weird that we are so close, but I like it, outside of my wife, Callie is the only person I know I can completely trust. I'm lost in my thoughts when I hear a voice behind me "Arizona" the butterflies start their flutter in my stomach. I look up and am met with a pair of sad blue eyes, I could tell she'd been crying. "what do you want Meredith" my tone is kind of harsh, but I'm still hurt.
"we need to talk" she says moving into the room, shaking my head "no we don't"
"yes we do" she's now standing next to me "you left" her voice was sad I didn't say anything, there isn't really anything to say. I know I should have at least tried to talk to her that night, after all we did just pledge our love to each other, in front of all our friends and family, just hours before. "Arizona" her voice cracked. Turning my head, I see that she's about to break down "please talk to me, I'm your wife" she pleads softly. Taking a deep breath "sit" I point to the empty chair and watch her sit. She leans forward grabbing my hand, but I pull it away, I can see the hurt on her face. "you know I'm not one to beg" she says "I did it once with Derek" I have a feeling she was about to say she's not going to do it again but she doesn't "I'll do whatever you want me to, just as long as you talk to me" I hear her sniffle and I look up she's got tears streaming down her face. "talk then" she's quiet, I didn't really have anything to say so I picked up my cup and took a drink, setting it back down I look at her "are you going to talk or not?"
"I'm, I don't even know where to start"
"the beginning is usually the best place to start" I sit back in my chair crossing my arms
"I don't understand why you're so pissed off at me" she says shaking her head "it's not like I planned on my husband coming back from the dead" I didn't say anything "he doesn't even want anything to do with me, he just came to check on the kids" I can tell she's getting pissed now but I still sit quiet "dammit Arizona" she pounds on the table.
"what?" I look at her
"say something"
"what do you want me to say?" I stand, thankfully I put on my prosthetic so I could
"I don't know something, anything" she pleads, I look down at the table. "he really doesn't want you?"
"no" she shakes her head "and that should hurt, but it doesn't, what hurts is you not talking to me" so I'm the one hurting her, of course, everything has and will always be my fault. Way to go Arizona! She reached for my hand again, this time I didn't pull it away. "he's gone, and will never be back, he did leave his address and phone number with Amelia, in case something happens" I nod "Addison let him have it, she and Amelia yelled at him for over 2 hours."
"this city is so fucked up" I say since coming to Seattle I've had so much shit happen, first a shooter roamed the halls of the hospital, then I get into a car accident almost killing Callie and Sofia, then I almost died in a plane crash, the result of that was me losing my left leg. I just don't have it in me anymore. "maybe we should move" she says, I shake my head "no I can't take Sofia away from Callie" I say meeting her eyes. "I'm just trying to process everything" she's quiet a moment then says "you do know we are legally married" I nod and a small smile spreads across my face "I love you Arizona, I hope you know that, it's you I want to raise the kids with and grow old and get Alzheimer's with"
"you're not going to get Alzheimer's" I say
"I could, I have the gene" she says, causing me to shake my head but stay quiet "Arizona" her voice is quiet, I turn to look at her "please come home, even if we don't talk, even if you're pissed at me, just come home" I take a deep breath, closing my eyes. I honestly want nothing more than that, so I nod. Opening my eyes, I see her smile and stand up to hug me, she kisses me and steps back "I'll help you with your things" she says and leaves the room. I stay sitting in the kitchen after she left and Callie comes in "what is she doing?" she asks, pointing in the direction Meredith had just gone. "getting my stuff"
"you're going home?" I look up at her and nod, then shrug, I hear Callie sigh then sit down in the chair Meredith had vacated "Arizona, you know I love you" I look at her confused "that woman in there, she's" she pauses "she's completely in love with you, I honestly don't think anyone has loved you more than she does, myself included" I shake my head "so get your head out of your ass and go help your wife with your stuff and go home" she says and stands "besides I'm sure the kids miss you" Callie says then leaves the room. Letting out another sigh, I stand and go to find my wife.

I understand why she left; what I don't understand is why she didn't talk to me before she did so. We are just pulling up to the house, I pull into my spot in the driveway, Arizona pulls in behind me. Looking in the rear-view mirror I see her put the car in park and sit there. "well at least I got her back on my property" I say out loud, I see the front door open and Zola's head peak out, then it slams shut. The kids have missed her, the door opens again, and Maggie appears. Making her way all the way out and to Arizona's car, in the mirror I see Arizona open the car door and getting out. Maggie opens the back door and grabs her bag. Before we left, Sofia had begged to come with, but Callie and I both said that it'd be better for her to stay there. She pouted and stormed off to her room. Now I know that has more to do with her wanting to be with Zola than with me, but I can't help but feel happy that she wants to be apart of my family. Shaking my head to clear my thoughts I reach for the keys and climb out. Arizona is nowhere in sight when I enter "she went upstairs" Maggie says then hands me her bag and I head in that direction. It's been rather quiet around here the last week, the kids know something is going on but don't know what. I don't think Bailey or Ellis would understand, but Zola does. That doesn't matter now, I got her back. I stop in the doorway of the bedroom seeing Arizona sitting on the bed. I slowly walk in, and sit next to her, she looks at me "well you got me here" I smile and nod, reaching for her hand, she doesn't pull back, which I consider to be a good thing, putting it up to my mouth I kiss the back of it. "you know" she says "this is so fucked, I mean, you're the one who should be pissed not me"
"oh trust me I am, but I'm more worried about you, about us, because you are my present and future, he, he is my past" I see her nod "I love you Arizona" I reach for her hand, when our eyes meet, she smiles "I love you" taking a chance I lean in and place my lips on hers. She doesn't pull back, so I deepen the kiss, feeling her arms wrap around me pulling me in. When our tongues make contact, it felt like the first kiss all over again. I had made a promise to myself that day that I would do everything I could to keep her, I think I did just that today, at least I hope I did. I hear her let out a moan, that usually means she wants more, but I pull back. The door to the room is open, and the kids are here. Hearing little footsteps running up the stairs I knew that was the right call. "momma" Bailey screams as he runs into Arizona's arms. "I miss you"
"I miss you too buddy" Ellis comes in next and runs to Arizona.
"see even they missed you" I see her smile "Arizona you belong with us, don't ever think we don't want or need you"
"yeah momma we neeeeed you" Bailey smiles dragging out the e.
"hey" Maggie is standing in the doorway "sorry they wanted to see you"
"it's ok" Arizona says she's finally smiling, Maggie nods and leaves.
"Bailey, why don't you take your sister back downstairs and we'll be down in a little bit"
"but mom, momma just"
"we'll be down soon I need to unpack my bag and talk to your mom"
"ok" he sighs and reaches for Ellis's hand "come on Ellie" she pouts a little but takes his hand and they leave. I walk over shutting the door, making sure it's locked, if we aren't down there soon, they'll come back, and they don't need to see whatever is going to happen. Turning around, Arizona has stood and is digging through her bag. I walk over to her, wrapping my arms around her from the back, kissing her neck softly. She's tense at first but relaxes, when I kiss that spot on her neck, then move up, running my tongue along her ear, I feel her hold back a moan. "Arizona" I whisper into her ear, she drops whatever it was she was holding and turns her head. "Meredith" she says just before our lips meet. I know everything isn't perfect between us, and it probably never will be, but I love her, and she loves me, and nothing else matters.

Kissing Meredith is something I will never get used to. It's way different than kissing anyone else. I thought Callie and I had a torrid relationship, especially in the beginning, but it has nothing on what Meredith, and I have. This woman may not be perfect, but she's perfect for me. Of course, I'm thinking all this while she is kissing my neck, turning my head, our lips meet. Oh my god, it was like our first kiss all over again, only this time without the uncertainty of where it will lead. Turning around I wrap my arms around her, pulling her in close. "Arizona" she husked out, pulling back so I can look into her beautiful eyes, I see they are full of love "I have missed you so much"
"I missed you too" I reach up touching her cheek, as she kisses me again. This time pushing me down onto the bed, as her hands start to roam my body. It's been the longest week of my life without her, and I wanted nothing more than to make love to her. The tender way she touched me, after not being able to for the past week, had me both turned on and falling more in love with her. Once our clothes were discarded, she gently climbed on top of me, making sure our bodies touched in all the right places. She kissed me passionately, and slowly I feel her hand slide between us, and gently start to rub at my center. The exquisite feeling that ran through my body was something I have only ever feet with her. For someone who hadn't been with a woman before me in a long time, she sure knew what she was doing. "I love you Meredith Grey, and I swear I'll never leave you again" she smiles, kissing me, this time the kiss is more heated and I know that we won't be leaving this room for the rest of the day.

"hey I was just wondering about dinner for the kids" Maggie's voice is heard
"shit" I murmur "what time is it?"
"almost 6"
"um" I look around the room mentally debating what I want the kids to eat "just order pizza, I'll be down in a bit"
"ok" Maggie laughs and I can hear her footsteps on the floor, turning my attention to my naked and asleep wife I can't help but smile. I guess we can add dead husband coming back to the list of shit we've gone through. Arizona smiles in her sleep, god I love this woman, and I will do anything I can to keep her. I place a kiss on her lips, and move so I can get out of bed "where do you think you're going?"
"to commit a felony or get ice cream I'll decide in the bathroom" I joke
"funny" she rolls over and grabs me, pulling me back down, kissing me "I have to feed the kids"
"oh right we have those" she laughs
"yeah" I place another kiss on her lips and get out of bed "besides if you sleep now, you won't sleep tonight"
"trust me, I'll sleep tonight after the past week" she rolls over "besides if we have another couple rounds of that, we'll both be worn out and pass out" I smile and head into the bathroom. Coming into the room Arizona is still lying in bed, but this time has her phone in her hand "I got a text from Callie, she wants to know how things are going?" I smile and jump on the bed "let me see" I reach for her phone turning on the camera I lay my head on Arizona's chest and snap a picture, quickly sending it off to Callie with the caption "we are doing super amazing"
"I can't believe you just sent my ex-wife a picture of us naked"
"all you can see are our faces, it's fine" I laugh and kiss her "now come on, we need to eat if we're going to be doing that all night" she nods, and I find a shirt tossing it at her, along with some shorts. "I need a shower"
"later, Maggie is ordering pizza" I say as I put the clothes on I had found for myself, turning I see she is dressed and reaching for her prosthetic. I smile at how normal this has become. I hope that we can get past this and get back to the happy family life. And watching my wife as she stands and smiles at me, I feel all the darkness that had been inside of me all those years melt away, being replaced by nothing more than sunshine and rainbows.
