Some of you may confused at Gilan and Alyss's relationship, basically for the background purposes, here's how it goes down:
- Gilan is looking after Redmont during Skandia and thats how they meet
- They sort of bond I guess over the loss of Will and the sadness of him being gone from the country
- Gilan confides in Alyss about how he feels lie Skandia is al, his fault and Alyss tells him otherwise
- They basically help each other through the year that their friend has been captured
