To vi – Thanks for your review! I'm glad you liked the chapter! Yeah, I really wanted to keep Hank alive as I was loving how he was actually being friendly with everyone. I hope you like this chapter!

To Guest – That's okay. I'm glad you liked chapter 7! It's going to take a bit more time for Hank and Dawn to discuss Jason and the part they played in hurting Jason. Dick, Dawn and Hank will still be having a conversation about their issues, it just got pushed down for a little while. I haven't actually thought about Dawn's later reaction at possibly shooting Jason, but I do have a scene plan where she is affected, and I could work that in. I hope you like this chapter!

AN – Happy belated holidays to everyone who celebrated a holiday in the month of December! I hope you all had a wonderful time! Got a bit of a longer chapter for you guys this time. I hope you all like it!

Enjoy!

In his bedroom, Hank carefully put on his shirt. After Conner had deactivated the bomb, and he and Kory got it off his chest, they realized that he needed stitches where the spikes stabbed into his flesh. They were a pain to put in so he didn't want to rip them and have to have them redone. The sooner the wounds healed, the sooner he could try and forget how close he came to being blown up to pieces. But, he had a feeling he'd never be able to truly wipe the memory from his brain.

"You sure you're okay?"

The former football player flinched and turned around, spotting Dawn standing in the door, her face covered in concern. Hank immediately gave her a reassuring grin and said, "Besides feeling sore where that bomb stabbed me, I'm good. I promise."

"Good," Dawn responded. She gave him a small smile, but still looked worried.

"Are you okay?" Hank asked as he moved to stand in front of her.

"Yeah, I'm fine," she replied, her concerned expression turning to one of confusion.

Hank nodded, then hesitantly said, "About what you said, about what happened,"

"I think we should wait to discuss that later," the shorter blonde quickly cut him off.

"You regret it?" The older man questioned, unable to help but feel a little hurt. He had made it clear that he was still in love with her and wanted to be with her. Though he wasn't a fan of the circumstances, yesterday, when she was in his room with him, he was actually happy in that moment. Happy that she still loved him. But, if she hadn't actually meant it, then, what do they do next?

"At the moment, no, but we were in a highly stressful position. I just, want to make sure that I know what I want first," Dawn tried to explain, her head down, looking at her fingers that were twisting around each other nervously.

"Okay, that makes sense," Hank replied, trying and failing to hide his disappointment. He lowered his own head, examining the floorboards. He didn't know what else to say. As much as he hoped for more, his partner was right. It wasn't smart to rush back into a relationship just because you were scared.

Dawn placed a hand on his shoulder, waited until he looked up at her, then said with a smile, "I'm really, really glad that you're okay."

"Me too," he replied with a smile of his own.

2018TITANS2018

Dick wanted to punch the computer screen, then ram his head through a wall. After having a celebratory pizza party last night, and a decent night's sleep, Dick headed back to the Batcave to study the remains of the drug in the inhaler he found at the stable. The problem was that there was hardly any left, just like the other inhaler he found. Just the barest of traces. It was hard to figure out what it was with so little of it. He had been working on it pretty much all night. He was frustrated, exhausted, and had a headache that might be turning into a migraine. Maybe he should take a break and try to get some sleep.

Hearing several footsteps approaching, he looked over his shoulder and saw his entire team coming over to him. They looked well rested, which was good. They needed as much rest as they could get. This whole situation was exhausting.

"So, what's our next move?" Gar questioned as they all came to surround Dick.

"Still working on that," Dick answered, before his eyes landed on Hank. "Should you be up and about?"

"I'm fine Dick. Got a good night's sleep and everything. I'm ready to get back out there and kick someone's a**. Preferably Jason's," Hank told him, crossing his arms over his chest.

Dick couldn't blame Hank for wanting to beat the crap out of Jason. A part of him wanted to do the same, but at the same time, he needed to know what exactly was going on with his younger brother. At the moment, he knew that Jason had been forced to stop being Robin, something he valued so much, was left alone by Bruce, and started doing drugs. Not to mention, he had been beaten to death by the Joker and somehow brought back to life. That had to have messed with his head. Just how aware of his actions was he right now? As furious as Dick was, he didn't want to do anything too rash until he had all the information.

When the Titans' leader stayed silent, Kory moved closer to him and leaned forward so she could get a better view of the computer screen as she asked, "What are you doing?"

"I'm trying to figure this drug out," Dick responded, gesturing to the now empty inhaler sitting beside the computer monitor.

"The drug you think Jason cooked up?" Gar questioned.

"Yeah. I found another inhaler at the old stable yesterday, when Dawn and I fought him. He's definitely using," Dick informed them, only now realizing that he forget to tell them that since they were a bit busy celebrating Hank's survival.

"Normally people use drugs for pleasure and to relax, or to forget something. What drug makes you a complete and total psychotic, homicidal maniac?" Hank wondered, racking his head, trying to think of all the drugs he had heard of in his past and if he had heard of something similar.

"I'm not sure yet," the brunette said. "I'm still trying to figure out what this drug is made off."

Dawn sighed, then asked with a slightly guilty tone, "Have we figured out where Jason went with the truck?"

"Nope. Barbara was able to track the truck to an area that doesn't have any cameras. She sent officers over there to do a sweep, and they did find the truck, but it was empty and there was no sign of Jason," Dick informed her, purposely not meeting her eyes. He understood why she did it, but he was still upset about it. Jason was an extremely loose cannon, and Dick was honestly terrified of what he was going to do with that much money.

"How about we just go out and search every single building until we find him?" Hank suggested, beginning to get irritated. He might have given Jason a little grace during his talk with Dick, while he still had a bomb locked on his chest and staring death in the face as he thought about his life, however, he was now starting to get more p****d off. The little punk tried to kill him!

"That would take way too long, and he could easily move around before we would be able to locate him," Dick pointed out, staring at the screen.

"It's better than doing nothing!" Hank shouted, not noticing that his sound volume made Gar, who was standing beside him, flinch. But he did get Dick to look at him again. "Besides, wouldn't Conner be able to locate with his hearing or x-ray vision? Or, couldn't Krypto track him by scent?"

"Well, we could try that," Dick slowly said after taking a moment to think about it.

"Why are you hesitating? He tried to Hank!" Dawn reminded him, very loudly.

"I know that!" Dick yelled, looking like he was about to get off his chair and punch something. The others looked shocked at his outburst. He must've been doing better than he thought at hiding his rage. However, getting mad at his friends would only cause more problems, so he took a deep breath to calm himself down, then tried to explain.

"Believe me, I'm f*****g p****d at him for it, and for everything else he's done. But we are still too many steps behind him. Even though we figured out that trap the other night and surprised him, he was still prepared and ready to put that bomb on Hank's chest. We can't just rush in without thinking. If you all remember, that's exactly what Jason used to do, and look where that's gotten him. We need to be smart about this, and figure out how we're bringing him in. As ticked as I am, I don't want to be bringing Jason in, with his body in a body bag. Especially if he is only acting like this because of a drug."

"I agree," Gar chimed in, immediately getting everyone's attention. "Jason has issues, I'm not going to deny that, but he's not an evil killer. There is something else going on. We should figure out what it is."

"The point of being heroes is to save people, right? Does that not apply to him?" Conner then wondered, looking over at Dick, Dawn and Hank.

"Of course it does. Right?" Gar looked over at the others, waiting for confirmation.

The four adults looked at each other before Dawn hesitantly said, "Depends on what kind of saving needs to happen."

"So, what do we do now?" Kory asked, trying to change the topic to something that would not cause another fight.

"Dawn, you should head down to the police station and talk to Barbara," Dick quickly told the platinum blonde.

"What for?" Dawn inquired with confusion covering her face.

"Probably about the truck that was publicly stolen by Dove, who's a member of the Titans, that are supposed to be helping the police capture criminals and solve crimes, not committing them." Dick couldn't help but let his annoyance slip into his voice and eyes as he answered her question.

"Right," Dawn mumbled. "I suppose I should take care of that."

"And what about the rest of us?" Gar wondered.

At that, Dick scratched his head, trying to think. "Um, go… do some training in the gym. Right now, until something comes up, there's not much else to do."

Everyone stood with stunned expression at that, but Dick didn't notice. He had already turned his full attention back to the computer screen. For a long moment, the five other Titans simply stared at him in shock and confusion. Was he seriously shutting them out again? Or did he truly simply have nothing else to do? No new leads to follow?

When Dick didn't say anything else, or even look at them, they all trickled out of the Batcave in search of something to do.

2018TITANS2018

Dawn slowly walked into the police station, her eyes darting to all the other people around. She hadn't considered what would happen after she stole the truck filled with gold. All she could think about at the time was saving Hank. Nothing else seemed to matter. It was a little strange. When they were in D.C., struggling with their new partnership, she wondered if it would be better for both of them if they got out of each other's lives. But then yesterday, the thought that he might actually be out of her life forever, it was unbearable.

She started looking around for Barbara, making her way in the direction of her office when a woman with dark skin, short white hair and scary eyes approached her. The woman looked her over before she asked, "Are you here to turn yourself in?"

"Um, I'm here to see Barbara," Dawn said, taken aback by her bluntness. And by the fact that she apparently knew that she was Dove. That was a bit concerning. Unless this woman asks that of every person who comes into the station to try and trick people into confessing.

"I can take it from here Vee," another person spoke up. Glancing over to the side, Dawn saw Barbara, sitting in her wheelchair only a few feet away. When Barbara knew that she had her attention, she jerked her head in a follow me gesture, then turned and started wheeling away. Wordlessly, Dawn followed her into the office.

The former ballerina suddenly felt even more uneasy than she did only seconds earlier. Especially after Barbara pressed a button that closed the doors. Dawn didn't really know Barbara all that well. She had only met her a handful of times when she was fighting crime as Batgirl, before she, Hank, Dick, Donna and Garth went to San Francisco and started up the Titans. She had seemed nice though. Dawn was sad to hear that she had been attacked by the Joker and ended up in a wheelchair.

"Do you want to tell me what on earth you were thinking?" Barbara inquired, leaning over the desk, glaring at her.

"About the truck?" The look Barbara gave made Dawn feel like an idiot, but she wanted to make sure they were on the same page.

Having her answer, Dawn said, "I was thinking that I needed to save Hank. And at the moment, that was the best way to do it."

"And was Jason actually willing to disarm the bomb in exchange for the money?" Barbara inquired with a judgmental tone of voice.

"I… I don't know," Dawn replied. "I don't think so. I think he was trying to trick me into doing something."

"And why couldn't you trust your team to save Hank?" Barbara asked, but she didn't give the other woman a chance to respond before she continued. "If you're going to be part of a team, you need to trust them. Depend on them, and have their backs. You don't go off on your own, and you don't abandon your team member when things go wrong. You don't solely blame a team member for something when you all played a part."

Dawn felt like she just got punched in the stomach. Barbara's anger and judgment was clear, and her eyes clearly showed that wanted to burn her on the spot. She didn't think that the former vigilante was aware of what happened when the Titans broke up five years ago, she didn't think that Dick would've spoken about it to anyone. Then again, Dick and Barbara had been friends for years, longer than he and Donna. It probably shouldn't have surprised her that he did talk to her about it. Maybe that was why Barbara wasn't all that happy to have the Titans in Gotham. She was mad at how they hurt Dick and didn't want them to do it again.

"I, I understand," Dawn said, refraining from pointing out how often Dick would go off on his own. She had a feeling that would only make Barbara mad, and considering the woman was in charge of the police force and had proof of her committing a crime, Dawn didn't want to get even more on her bad side.

"Good. Right now, I have it recorded that you were blackmailed into doing it, and were also trying to place a tracker on the truck in order to find the Red Hood, but it went wrong. That should be enough to keep you out of a jail cell for now. Until we get everything sorted out completely, it would be best if Dove doesn't make an appearance unless absolutely needed. Do I make myself clear?" Barbara questioned, still glaring at her.

"Crystal clear," Dawn replied, somewhat reluctantly. She wasn't really a fan of Barbara's decision, but had no room to argue.

"Good. That's all." Barbara turned her attention to her computer screen as soon as the words were out of her mouth. Seeing the obvious dismissal, Dawn silently walked out of the room and headed to her car to return to the Manor.

2018TITANS2018

After talking with Dick, and learning that there was nothing to do, Hank went to the game room. He wasn't a very frequent guest of Wayne Manor, Bruce was not a big fan of him or Dawn, but the few times Dick did invite them over, they usually hung out in that room. Bruce hardly ever used it. He only set up that room for Dick and any friends he had over anyways. It was the most entertaining room in the whole building, aside from the Batcave that is, but the Big Bat refused to have any outsiders in there unless he was there to supervise.

Gar and Conner quickly joined him, and the three played a few rounds of a video game that had just come out. Hank wasn't sure what it was called, just that it had something to do with zombies and shooting things. When they first started playing, he briefly wondered if maybe it was a bit too violent for them but then remembered that they were out fighting crime at night. They have probably seen worse. So they played for about two hours, when Conner stopped to take Krypto for a walk. Seeing that it was nearing noon, Gar thought that it was a good time to stop for lunch anyways. So, the remaining two headed into the kitchen where Gar decided to make pizza, even though they have already had that twice in the last four days or so that they've been in Gotham. Hank didn't mind however, and did what he could to help out the teenager.

Hank was currently sitting at the kitchen island, picking at the remaining bits of shredded cheese while Gar started to do some cleaning, when he heard footsteps approaching. He looked up and saw Dawn walk in. There was a dejected expression on her face that wasn't there when she left a few hours ago. When she sat down at the kitchen island beside him, he asked, "So, how did it go?"

"Well, she didn't arrest me, which is good. However, she doesn't want me going out as Dove for a while. Right now, she's putting it in a report that we were blackmailed into stealing the truck and I decided to do it so I could track them, but it didn't work. Which means I'm somewhat in the clear, but until that gets all sorted out, she wants me to lay low," Dawn revealed, grabbing the salt shaker nearby and fiddling with it.

Hank was silent as he watched Dawn twirl the shaker in her nimble fingers. A small part of him wanted to chuckle at the situation. Not three days ago, she was yelling at him about going out as Hawk, saying it was too dangerous with all of his past injuries. Now, she had been told by the police commissioner that she because of her own actions, she couldn't go out as Dove. However, he quickly pushed that thought out of his mind. She only did it to save him, and he knew how much it sucked to not be able to go out and fight, especially when everyone around you was doing it and you were left behind. He wondered though, if something else happened. As much as being told not to go out, and possibly end up being arrested for theft sucked, he had a feeling that there was something else that was on her mind.

"At least she didn't actually arrest you," Gar tried to cheer her up as he checked on the pizzas that were in the oven. "I mean, all things considered, she could've easily done that."

"Yeah, that's true," Dawn agreed, though she still sounded quiet and subdued. Hank reached over and grabbed her hand. As soon as he did it, he panicked, wondering if she would be okay with it, but she gripped his hand back and turned her head to give him a smile. It was small, but real.

The sound of someone else entering the room broke the moment between the two of them and they pulled their hands apart. From the door on the left side of the room, Kory walked in. She didn't look at them, or at anything really. She seemed lost in thought, so Hank and Dawn didn't really pay her any attention while Gar pulled the pizzas from the oven and placed them on the stove.

"Hey Kory, I made a pizza. Want some?" Gar questioned, looking for the knife to cut the food into slices. "I know that we just had it last night, but come on. Pizza is amazing."

"I concur," Hank said with a grinning, holding up his can of beer as though he was toasting to the green-haired teen's statement.

Kory finally looked over at them, and the two adults instantly tensed up. There was a strange expression on her face. Something that didn't seem right. Their hunch was proven right when Kory turned back to Gar, and wordlessly shot fire at him. Luckily, he saw it coming and managed to duck just in time.

"What the h*ll?" Hank stammered as he backed away further from the alien. However, his words immediately caught her attention. She turned her focused away from Gar towards him, then threw her fire in his direction. He dropped to his knees behind the island just in time, but he was pretty sure the tips of his hair got singed.

"Kory stop!" Dawn yelled, throwing an empty tin can at Kory's head, reminding her of her presence.

Since Dawn was far closer, the redhead threw a punch at her. Dawn bent backwards, out of reach, then grabbed Kory's wrist and twisted it. Kory however, was much stronger than her. She simply twisted her arm back and pushed her current opponent away from her, hard enough that Dawn slammed back into the counter behind her.

"What are you doing?" Gar demanded, now holding up a large frying pan to protect himself, which was a good move, as Kory instantly turned to shoot another burst of flames in his direction. However, the frying pan was too small, and the fire licked the skin of his left arm, causing him in scream in pain.

"Gar!" Dawn shouted when she heard the teenager scream. Kory then shifted back to face Dawn, but before she could launch another attack, Hank came out from his hiding place and tackled her to the ground. With his entire body on top of her, his hands around her arms, forcing them onto the floor, he screamed in her face.

"Snap out of it!"

The alien princess tried to throw him off, but he slammed his forehead against hers, knocking her back down. Then, she started blinking wildly. All traces of the violent trance she had been in was gone. Instead, she seemed confused, and a little scared.

"What happened?" Kory asked, her voice quiet and almost timid, which wasn't at all like her. Hank slowly climbed off of her and helped her sit up. Once they were upright, he turned to Dawn, who had gotten up and went over to Gar.

"You had another episode," Dawn explained as she examined the burn on Gar's arm.

"Wait, another?" Hank questioned, not knowing what they were talking about. Had this happened before? Why didn't they tell anyone? Or was he the only one who didn't know anything about this?

"Oh Gar," Kory whispered as she spotted the burn on the boy's arm. "I'm so sorry."

Gar looked over at her and nodded, but flinched when Kory tried to come closer. A heartbroken expression covered her face, yet she backed away when she saw the boy's reaction to her movement. She didn't want scare him anymore than she already had. It was already bad enough that she attacked him, even if she wasn't aware of it or in control. But now she actually hurt him, and he feared her doing it again.

Turning her head to check Hank and Dawn for any visible injuries, she asked, "Are you guys okay?"

"Yeah, I think so. And this burn doesn't look too serious, but we should get it cleaned and bandaged," Dawn answered before she stood up and headed over to the sink, where she knew that a first aid kit would be. Dick had told them all about it as there had been some cooking accidents, mostly caused by Bruce, over the years.

"Here," Hank said, pulling Kory from her thoughts. Looking up, she saw that he was holding a glass of water out to her. She hadn't noticed that he even got up to get it.

"Thanks," she mumbled, taking the offered glass and downing a few gulps. As she did that, Dawn found the first aid kit and started cleaning and bandaging Gar's burned arm.

After another minute or so, to make sure that everything was calm now, Hank asked, "Does someone want to tell me what's going on?"

Kory took another sip of her water, then said, "I had another one of those visions."

"Visions?" Hank questioned, crouching down so he was no eye-level with her. "What kind of visions?"

"I don't know. It's like I'm me, but I'm someone else too, watching me from the outside. They're pulling me somewhere but I don't know where," Kory tried to explain with a frustrated tone of voice.

"Rachel had visions too, remember?" Gar reminded her, cradling his now bandaged arm. "Once she embraced them, she learned to figure them out."

Kory scoffed and asked, "And how am I supposed to do that? They come out of nowhere."

Another moment of silence passed as everyone tried to think of what to do. Then, Gar lifted his head and grinned. "I got an idea."

2018TITANS2018

*Gar brings Kory to the sensory deprivation tank (Hank and Dawn with them) and suggests she uses it to help her focus on her visions. She then black outs again and has another vision*

2018TITANS2018

Once the vision turned black, Kory opened her eyes. She was both surprised and unsurprised to find herself in the driver's seat of a car, her head leaning against the steering wheel. Surprised, because she had no idea why she was in a car. Unsurprised because at this point, she was starting to get used to waking up in random places. She just hoped that she didn't hurt anyone this time.

"Where am I?" Kory mumbled to herself as she lifted her head. Looking out the windows, she saw that she was parked in the middle of a meadow surrounded by trees. She had no idea where she was. Then, she glanced up at the rear-view mirror above her head. Gar, Hank and Dawn were standing behind the car she was in, and all three of them looked a bit ragged. There was also a jeep behind them. They must've followed her in the jeep when she took the car.

"Are you guys okay?" She asked as she climbed out of the vehicle and rushed over to them. Once she was in five feet of them, all three backed away, causing her to stop and her stomach fill with dread.

"Are you back to normal right now?" Hank questioned, moving to stand a little in front of Gar. Now that she was closer, she could see a darkening bruise on Hank's cheek and the slight swelling of Gar's lower lip. Neither of those injuries were there when she climbed into the sensory deprivation tank.

"Yeah, yeah I am," Kory confirmed, feeling torn between crying and screaming in frustration. "What did I do?"

"You broke out of the chamber, attacked us, grabbed Gar, threw him in the trunk, and took off. We followed until you stopped here, and got Gar out," Dawn bluntly informed her.

"Gar, I'm so sorry," Kory said, reaching out to try and comfort him. When Gar flinched, she pulled her hand back.

Instead of responding to her apology, Gar asked, "Why are we here?"

"I don't, I don't know," Kory answered, turning around to fully examine the meadow. Unfortunately, there still wasn't anything that looked familiar, nor was there any reason she could think of that would lead to her coming here.

"So this was all a big waste of time. Good to know," Gar responded, clearly annoyed and upset, which no one blamed him for. "Can we go back to the Manor now?"

Hank nodded, and was about lead Gar towards the car that he and Dawn had taken, he didn't think Gar would want to be around Kory right now, when he spotted something strange on the ground. It was on the right side of the car Kory took, near the passenger door. "Wait, what's that?"

The others looked over to see what had caught his eye. All four of them quickly walked over and found that it was a metal circle. It looked a bit like those manholes in the roads, for people to do maintenance work or something, just larger. Kory crouched down and pulled it away, revealing a large, cement hole with a ladder attached.

"It looks like some kind of bunker," Dawn stated, using the flashlight on her cell phone to get a better look at what was inside.

"We're going in, aren't we?"

Instead of answering Gar's question, the three adults moved closer to the opening. Then, Kory started climbing down the ladder. Dawn looked over at Hank and Gar before she climbed in after the alien.

When Hank started to follow Dawn, Gar said, "You guys do know that this is usually the part where the movie turns into a horror movie, right?"

"Gar!" Dawn's loud voice echoed from the entrance to the creepy, underground tunnel.

"Fine," Gar muttered as he too, stepped onto the ladder and made his way inside. "I better get a raise on my allowance after this though."

AN – So Dick is a bit calmer and level-headed when it comes to Jason because they were able to save Hank. If they weren't, then yeah, he would've been so furious he wouldn't be thinking straight. And in my mind, after Hank, Dawn and Donna left Dick and the Titans broke up after Jericho 'died', he went back to Gotham and reunited with Barbara along with Bruce, which is when Barbara learned what happened and thus, is not really a fan of Dawn and Hank (and Donna but she's dead at the moment). And yes, I totally think Dick gives his kids an allowance. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! See you all next time!
