Somehow, all my teachers ended up making a majority of our assignments due around the same time. Isn't college great? However, during the time I've been busy, I did watch Teagan Croft's new movie True Spirit, and oh my word it makes me miss seeing her in Titans. It's a good movie, you guys should go check it out! Anyways, back to the story! I hope you like it!
Enjoy!
*Flashback of Dick, as Robin, finding Barbara stealing and them meeting up in a bar afterwards*
The entire drive back to Wayne Manor was done in silence. Every now and then, Kory felt Komand'r turn to look at her, but she stayed quiet. They were the only two in the car, as Gar decided to go with Hank and Dawn in their car. Kory didn't blame him for that. She had attacked the boy, had hurt him, twice today already. If she were in his shoes, she would've done the same thing. However, Gar had a way of making tense situations easier, lighter. She could use some of that right about now. Relief flooded her body when they finally pulled up in front of the Manor.
"This is your house?" Komand'r questioned with a frown as she climbed out of the car. Kory wasn't surprised that her younger sister was unimpressed with the building. By the U.S. standards, it was a beautiful and grand building. By Tamaran's standards, it was big but still a shack.
"No, it's someone else's. We're just staying here for now," Kory replied, not bothering to hide her annoyance with her younger sister's attitude. They had literally just gotten her out of a cell in an underground bunker and she wants to complain? Then again, Komand'r was never the one to be openly grateful about anything.
"It's quite a bit smaller than our palace," Komand'r stated while the car the other three Titans were in came to a stop and they all got out.
"Well, we aren't royalty on this planet, so keep the royal, entitled attitude to a minimum, okay?" The older alien reminded her. She waited until she got a reluctant nod from her sibling before she headed towards the door. The others all followed right behind her.
The building was completely silent, which wasn't surprising. It was so large for the six, now seven, of them, and none of them were particularly loud. However, she expected to hear some kind of noise. A faint voice, or fake gunfire from the game room, distant footsteps from the halls or stairs, someone whistling in the kitchen. But there was nothing. Maybe the two Titans who stayed behind were in the Batcave.
"Dick? Conner?" Dawn called out, wondering where the other two heroes were. She assumed that Dick was probably still in the Batcave, but she didn't know about Conner.
"There's someone named 'Dick', here?" Komand'r asked with an amused voice and expression.
"It's a nickname," Hank told her, smirking as he did so. He remembered all the jokes and puns he made when he learned the first Robin's identity. Sometimes, the younger man joked back. Other times, he rolled his eyes and punched Hank in the shoulder.
"And how did he get that nickname?" The second alien princess wondered, now giving the man a sly smirk.
"Well," Hank started to explain, but was cut off by Kory.
"Dick tried calling me earlier," she revealed, staring at her phone. Curious, and now a little concerned, Hank reached for his phone to check if he had any missed calls. Sure enough, he had one missed called from Dick.
"He tried to call me too," he informed them, then looked up to see that Dawn and Gar were also looking at their cell phones.
"Me too," Dawn said.
"Same here," Gar joined in, looking at the adults with fear in his eyes. Dick wouldn't have tried calling all of them if it wasn't about something important. What if something was wrong?
"Komand'r, stay here while we go see where our friends are," Kory ordered, already coming to the same conclusion that Gar had. "Do not leave this room, and do not touch anything."
The younger Tamaranian rolled her eyes and let out a loud sigh, but nodded. Kory stared at her for another few seconds, needing to make sure her sister knew that she was being serious. Komand'r again sighed and nodded, but there was an understanding in her eyes that wasn't originally there. She got the message her older sister was sending. Seeing that, and knowing that the security in this house would catch anything suspicious, Kory headed out of the room in search of Dick and Conner. Dawn, Hank and Gar followed a few steps behind her, a little more hesitant than she was to leave the stranger along in the house.
"Is leaving her there a good idea?" Dawn couldn't help but ask as they headed down the hall towards the study where the secret entrance to Batcave was.
"Dick said there are cameras everywhere. If she does something, we'll know. And hopefully, she's smart enough to not try anything," Kory responded.
Hank, Dawn and Gar didn't look any more comfortable with the idea of a strange, dangerous alien being left alone in their home, but they let it go for the time being. Right now, it was more important to find Dick and Conner. It wasn't the fact that Dick had called them that worried them. It was the fact that he called ever single one of them at practically the same time. That could only mean that something big was going on. And with each empty room they passed, their worry only grew.
"Guys? Are you back?" A voice called out, coming from the direction of the study. The one room that they hadn't checked yet. It was Conner's voice, and he sounded worried, which made them all rush towards him.
"Conner," Kory said once she entered the room and saw the younger hero standing right near the cave entrance. The others came in right behind her, but she barely noticed because her sole focus was on the fact that Conner's hands were covered in blood.
"What happened?" Kory demanded over the sound of shocked gasps from the other three heroes.
"It's Dick." Conner's voice and words made Kory's blood freeze in her veins. "I need your help."
Conner didn't elaborate any further. He just ran back through the secret entrance and down the stairs. The others followed right at his heels. As soon as they got down to the Batcave, they saw why he seemed so panicked.
Dick was lying on one of the medicals beds in the infirmary area. The top of his Nightwing suit had been sloppily pulled off, revealing a bloodied shoulder and chest. And he appeared to be unconscious.
"Dick!" Kory shouted at the sight of the man's body on the medical bed as they all ran over to him.
Immediately Dawn and Kory started pulling the bandages away to get a better look at the wound. Normally, it was Dawn and Gar who took care of any injuries the heroes may have gotten, but after the two blondes left the tower, Kory started learning more so she could help. Gar also tried to get closer to help, but Hank pulled him back. It was better for to have only two people look over their wounded teammate until they actually needed help. Otherwise, they'd simply be in the way.
The two women worked quickly to figure out the man's condition. With all the blood, they thought that there were multiple injuries, but thankfully, there was only one. A bullet wound to the shoulder that went right through him. For a moment, Dawn wondered if it was down to low and possibly nicked his aorta, but he would've bled out by now if that was the case. However, even knowing that, it was clear that blood loss was still the main threat right now.
"Is he going to be okay?" Gar asked, leaning against Hank's arm, wanting to get closer but not actively fighting against the former football player.
"He's lost a lot of blood," Kory stated absently though she kept her eyes on the unconscious hero.
"But is he going to be okay?" Conner repeated Gar's question, almost bringing his hands up to push his hair back but stopped when he noticed that his hands were still covered in Dick's blood.
"Bullet went right through his shoulder. Looks like it missed the bones and anything else important, so the main issue is the blood loss," Dawn explained as she gave them a somewhat reassuring look before adding, "Gar, there's a large fridge at the back of the room that has packages of stored blood. Go get two bags and bring them over. There will be names on them."
"Got it," Gar replied, then darted off, eager to do something useful. He was back in less than a minute.
"Here," the green-haired teenager said as he handed the blood bags to Dawn, who was now hooking up an IV for a blood transfusion.
"Thanks," the blonde muttered, taking the bags from him as soon as she saw them. Not wanting to get in the way, Gar then reluctantly backed up to where Hank and Conner were still standing. As the two women continued helping their leader, Gar looked over at the clone.
"What the h*ll happened?"
He expected Conner to stammer out a response, considering how quiet he was, and how deep he shocked he seemed to be. To his surprise, Conner glared at him and practically growled, "Where the h*ll were you guys?"

*Dick's dream of stealing with Barbara, them kissing, then him bleeding*
2018TITANS2018
Dick awoke with a loud gasp, trying to sit up but quickly lost his strength and fell back, making his left shoulder throb painfully. His eyes squinted at the bright lights above him. Familiar lights. And he was lying on a hard mattress, that was also a little familiar. He was in the medical area in the Batcave. But, why was he here? What had happened?
"Woah, woah, easy there, boy wonder," Dawn said as she appeared beside him, her hands gently pushing him back down by his shoulders when he tried to sit back up again. Kory then showed up on other side with a concerned expression on her face. It was then he remembered what happened, and he looked around the room in a panic.
"Where's Conner?" Dick demanded when he couldn't see the clone.
"I'm over here, and I'm fine." The sound of Conner's voice helped calm a little, but it wasn't until he, along with Gar and Hank, came into his line of sight that Dick finally relaxed.
"Crane? Jason?" Dick wondered, hoping that they had been caught.
However, Conner shook his head while Hank said, "Gone. Barbara said that she's trying to track them from her end and wants you to call her when you can."
"How are you feeling?" Kory wondered as soon as Hank had finished speaking, gently squeezing Dick's uninjured shoulder.
"I'm fine. It's not the first time I've been shot," Dick assured her, though he sounded annoyed instead of charming like he normally did whenever he was injured and was trying to act like he was perfectly fine. Before she could respond to him, he looked up at her and asked a question that made her pursue her lips and turn her head away.
"Where on earth were you guys?"
"We um, had some things to take care of," Dawn told him when she saw Kory's reaction. Though she knew that Kory needed to tell him what was going on, especially since her sister was just upstairs, she could understand her hesitance to speak up. It was clear Dick was already upset and if, when, he found out that Kory's vision caused her to attack them, caused her to hurt Gar, he would explode.
"What kind of things?" Dick pushed. He was not in the mood right now to wait for the others to feel comfortable enough to tell him when they felt ready. Whatever drugs they had given him were already starting to wear off, so his shoulder was now throbbing and his brain was catching up to what had happened that landed him here and he was getting p****d. He had finally gotten a lead on how to catch Jason, and his team was nowhere to be found. Now, he had a shoulder wound, and Jason was in the wind once again. This time, with Crane, who was spearheading this whole thing.
"Tamaran kind of things," Kory admitted, lowering her head a little to avoid seeing Dick's expression. "I have been having these, visions that make me blackout and, sometimes, they made me violent. I had one that led us to this underground facility, where my sister was being held. She's upstairs now."
Dick stared at her in shocked silence for a minute. Why did Kory keep this from him, and how did he not notice what was happening? With his body now starting to shake in both pain and anger, he asked, "And at no point did you think to tell me about any of this?"
"There wasn't really time. You've been busy," Kory tried to explain even though she knew that it wasn't much of an excuse.
"You should've told me!" The former Robin yelled, feeling not only furious that he was not informed of something that could've affected the entire team, but also betrayed that after working together so closely for months, that she didn't trust him enough to tell him what was going on.
"And you shouldn't have gone off on your own!" Kory shouted back, gesturing to his bandaged injury. "Another few centimeters to the right and you'd be dead!"
"Hey, I was there," Conner cut in, trying to defend his leader. Unfortunately, the two were so into their fight that they didn't pay him any attention.
"Hard to get you guys to help when I didn't know where you were, you weren't answering your phones, and we were kinda on a time limit." Dick's voice was quieter but still just as anger-filled as it was before.
"Okay, let's all calm down," Dawn finally decided to step in, physically standing in between them. Once she was, she turned to the brunette and said, "Dick, you did tell us that we weren't needed, so we didn't think much of leaving, especially since Kory was having a blackout that was leading her somewhere else. But we should have at least texted you what was going on. And Kory, Dick did try to contact us. Crane was being moved too quickly to wait. It made sense that he and Conner went to try and stop him and Jason."
Everyone fell silent at Dawn's words. Then Gar spoke up, "It's just, you scared us, man."
"We're sorry for leaving without telling you," Hank added.
Dick looked at each of them, seeing the regret in their eyes, then nodded. This situation wasn't completely their fault. He did tell them to go do something as he was just searching for leads at the moment. And it sounded like they didn't have cell service where they ended up. Even if they did tell him that they were leaving, they probably wouldn't have gotten his calls. Even if Kory was honest with him about the visions she was having, he most likely would've let her go figure it out anyways, so nothing would've been different. He wished she would've trusted him enough tell him what was going on, but there was no point in staying mad about it. Jason, and now Scarecrow, were loose, and needed to be tracked down. So he sat up and started to get off the bed.
"Whoa, where do you think you're going?" Dawn wondered, moving forward, ready to push him back down on the bed and force him to rest if she needed too.
"Going to call Barbara, see if there's any update. We gotta track down Jason and Crane," Dick answered as he pulled his IV line out of his arm and got to his feet. Kory immediately appeared in front of him.
"Dick," she started to protest, but Dick quickly cut her off.
"I'll just be sitting down, don't worry." He walked away before anyone could say anything else or try to stop him. Despite recovering from a bullet wound and blood loss, he could still move rather quickly when he wanted to.
The rest of the Titans stared at him in shock. Yes, they had all seen him try to brush off any injuries he would get, but no one, aside from Hank and Dawn, had seen him get shot before. They would've thought he'd take his wound a little more seriously. In hindsight though, they probably shouldn't have. Of course he would act like he was fine. That nothing was wrong and he was good to get right back to work.
"Has he always been like this?" Kory questioned as soon as he was gone, turning to Hank and Dawn, who both nodded.
"Something he unfortunately picked up from Bruce," Dawn informed her, then moved to sit down in a nearby chair. Letting her head hang back, she let out a loud sigh. She had forgotten how stubborn and headstrong Dick would get when he wanted to. And they couldn't simply let him go on because otherwise, he'd fall into the dark hole of obsession. Dragging him out of that hole was nearly impossible.
"This is crazy," Hank stated. Dawn looked up to see that everyone else was still in the medical room. Hank now leaning against the wall near her, Gar and Conner were still standing in theirs spots from before, as was Kory, but she was staring out the door that Dick walked through again, even though he wasn't in sight anymore.
"What do you mean?" Gar wondered.
"Jason working with Crane," Hank answered. "How could he do that? Why on earth would he do that?"
"The drug, maybe?" Gar suggested with a shrug of his shoulders.
"You think he's being controlled?" The former football player questioned, his brow furrowing in thought, as though he hadn't considered it. Gar looked at Hank like he believed the answer should be obvious, but he replied all the same.
"Isn't it obvious that's what happened?"
The two blondes looked at each other, both wearing curious expressions. They had tried to come up with multiple reasons to explain Jason's recent behaviour and actions, but being controlled didn't really cross their mind. Could that actually be the reason? Was Scarecrow the puppeteer that was making Jason dance on his string?
2018TITANS2018
Kory did a quick check on Dick, finding him in front of the Batcomputer, on the phone, just like he said he would be, then headed back upstairs to the library where her sister should still be. Hopefully. After they had gotten Dick stable, they all stayed downstairs, waiting for their leader to wake up, which took at least two to three hours. During that time, no one went to check on Komand'r. In all honesty, Kory forgot that her sister was even here, as her concern for Dick overtook her whole mind. Now that he was awake and seemed to be doing fine, she had to go make sure that Komand'r hadn't caused any trouble
"What are you doing?" Kory questioned as soon as she walked into library, finding her sister standing in front of one of the many bookshelves only a few feet away from the door.
"Examining the books," Komand'r answered, barely sparing her sister a glance before turning her attention back to the shelves. "Quite an interesting collection."
"The man who owns this house is an interesting man," Kory responded. She then looked around the room. Nothing seemed damaged or out of place, so hopefully her sister had indeed followed her orders, which would be a nice change. Komand'r was never very good at doing what she was told to do. Considering that she was now ruling Tamaran before she came here, Kory would've thought that that little habit would've gotten worse.
"You settled whatever emergency you had?" Komand'r wondered, picking a book up to look at it closer.
"Yes, we did," Kory answered. As soon as she finished speaking, several footsteps echoed through the hall. Seconds later, Dawn, Hank, Gar, and Conner entered the room. While Kory was a little concerned that they all came upstairs and Dick was left alone in the Cave, Komand'r appeared to be happy to them.
"Aw, finally. Draw me a bath. I need to wash off the filth of that place," Komand'r ordered Conner, looking him over before looking over herself.
"Excuse me?" The eldest alien heir demanded as everyone else looked at Komand'r in confusion.
"What? Clearly this strapping young man is my manservant. Here to attend to my needs," Komand'r said confidently and with a smile.
"Sure, I can attend to your needs," the clone easily agreed, completely missing the subtext.
"That's not what she means, Conner," Gar told him, staring at Kory's sister.
"But, this man obviously belongs to her," Komand'r said, pointing at Hank and Dawn, who looked at each other awkwardly. "And is the green-haired one not yours?"
"Oh gross," Gar mumbled.
"No, Komand'r. Things don't work like that here," Kory informed her while Hank started sniggering.
"Your planet sounds very interesting," he said when the redhead shot him a look. Kory rolled her eyes. This was not going to end well.
AN – Ending it here because I didn't want to make this chapter too long. I hope you all enjoyed it though! I have no clue when I'll get the next chapter done, but I'll try to be back as soon as I can!
