To vi – Thanks for your review! I'm so glad you liked the last chapter, and all the Dick and Kory moments, and the Graysonfam moments! Is Nanny a TV show or movie? It sounds interesting. I hope you like this chapter!
To Spectacular Webhead – Yeah, Kory's sister is pretty demanding. She'll learn soon though! Hope you like this chapter!
To Mikke f*cks – I'm glad you liked the chapter! I censor the swear words because I personally, don't actually like swearing. I hardly ever do it. However, when I write fanfiction, I try to stay as true to characters as I can, and in this show, they swear a lot. So, that's why it's written like that. Hope you enjoy this chapter!
To Guest – I'm glad you liked the chapter! Yeah, school has been keeping me very busy, along with my practicum. But I'm free for the summer, so hopefully I'll have more time to write. And no, I wasn't aware that Titans was coming to an end. I had been focusing so much on school and such, that I wasn't keeping up to date. That makes me sad. And don't worry, I'm not offended, nor am I going to insult you or anything. You didn't do anything wrong. The time I did ask for people stop giving me updates on the show, it was because there was just a lot of them all at once, and I was getting a little annoyed, and that leaving show updates isn't really what the review section is for. That's all. Sorry if I gave you the impression that I was mad. And yes, I am thinking/planning of making a season 4 AU, and I do have another Titans fic in the works that is a sequel to The Prince of Gotham. My plan is to get back to working on it as soon as this story is completed. As for anything else, we'll just have to see. I hope you enjoy this chapter!
AN – Hey guys! Sorry for the long wait. Pretty much right after I made my last update, I got hit with ALL of the assignments, then followed by finals, then my practicum. But I'm done now for the summer! Hopefully I'll be able to finish this story before the next school year starts up! I have also learned, since posting my last chapter, that Titans has come to an end. Honestly, after part 1 of season 4 finished, I stopped checking for updates and news and such because I was trying to keep my focus on school and writing, so I didn't learn about it until I posted the last chapter. I'm a bit sad about it, but not all that surprised. However, I think I'm actually okay with it ending here, and am okay with the ending we got. And who knows, maybe in a few years, when they restart all the DC Universe movies, again, we'll get another adaption! That could be fun. Guess we'll have to wait and see. But for now, I think you guys have waited long enough for the next chapter, so here it is! I hope you all like it!
Enjoy!
*Flashback of Dick and Barbara breaking into a place, catching Lady Vic and her partner. They fight, during which Barbara accidentally kills Lady Vic's partner*
Sitting at the Batcomputer once again, Dick watched the footage from all the cameras he could get access to. There was nothing, no sign of Jason or Crane sneaking back into the city at all, just like Barbara said when he called her an hour ago. It took a few minutes to assure her that he was okay, and to get an update on what he all missed after being shot, but she didn't know anything. There had been no sign of them following the Arkham breakout. They had driven out of the city and vanished. It appeared that they were out moves at the moment and had to wait until Jason and Crane made one.
At this point, Dick wondered if it might be time to call Bruce. Honestly, with all the craziness going on, he kind of forgot about letting the man know that his youngest son was actually alive, and had now allied himself with Scarecrow. But when he did think about it, he decided not to. He hadn't been in contact with Bruce or Alfred since they left, but he knew that Bruce wouldn't be doing great right now. Not only had his son been brutally murdered, he killed someone. Sure, that someone was the Joker, but still, that no killing code practically defined who Batman is. Who Bruce is. To have that gone had to be taking a toll on him, and then to learn that his son was actually alive and was currently working with a criminal while on drugs? No, that would be too much, even for Batman. It would be better to wait until this whole situation was dealt with. Then he'd call Bruce and Alfred.
"Hey Dick," Gar greeted him with what he probably thought was a convincing smile, but Dick could see the worry in his eyes as clear as day.
Dick spun his chair around to fully face the teenager and said, "Hey. Is something wrong?"
"No, I just wanted to make sure you were okay," Gar replied, his eyes glancing over at Dick's shoulder, where his injury was.
"Thank you, but I'm okay. Really," the older vigilante tried to convince the younger, who didn't look like he completely believed him, but let it slide for now.
"What did Barbara say?" Gar changed the subject, gesturing to Dick's phone.
"Nothing much. According to the traffic cameras, Crane and Jason left the city. But that doesn't mean they won't return, if they haven't already," Dick informed him, turning to look at the screen.
Gar nodded, letting him know that he heard him, but fell silent. Having a feeling that the teenager was working his way up to something, Dick also stayed silent and waited. His patience was soon rewarded when Gar said, "Dick?"
"Yeah?" Dick responded, though his eyes remained on the footage.
"You weren't, you weren't planning on hurting Jason, right?" Now, Dick looked over at him, a confused and slightly surprised expression covering his face. Seeing that, Gar rushed to add, "I mean, I know he tried to kill Hank and that's bad but, he's still one of us, isn't he? He needs help, not jail."
"I was planning on helping him. As upset and confused as I am, I want to help him. But he didn't want any help," Dick told him, letting out a sigh and looking down at the ground.
"Does that mean we don't try?" Gar wondered.
The original Robin shrugged and said, "I don't know Gar. What I do know, is that you can't really help anyone if they don't want it or don't try to help themselves."
Gar didn't have a response to that. It was true. The only way to guarantee someone stayed clean of drug or alcohol or whatever they were addicted to was to basically lock them up and keep them constantly supervised. Otherwise, they could always relapse, no matter how many times you put them in rehab or how many therapy session they went to. And regardless of everything Jason had done so far, Gar didn't want him locked up for the rest of his life. He wanted to help him, but until Jason was willing to accept that help, there was nothing they do except try to stop him from causing any more damage.
The green-haired teenager was about to question if Dick even had a plan for what happens next, when Dick's cell phone started ringing on the desk. He quickly grabbed it and said, "What do you have, Barbara?"
As Dick listened to whatever the police commissioner had to say, Gar watched him closely, trying to find anything that would hint at what was going on. Was it a simple check-in, or an update on Jason and Crane? Was it good news, or bad? Could there even be one without the other? If they caught Crane and Jason, then they wouldn't be able to hurt anyone, but then what did they do with Jason? And if the news was actually that the two had committed another crime, then it might give them a new lead, but then odds were that there were people caught in the crossfire.
"Okay, I'll be right there." Dick then hung up the phone and stood up.
"What is it?" Gar wondered, also getting to his feet.
"There was an attack at the hospital," he told him while heading towards the stairs.
Following right behind him, Gar then asked, "Why would Scarecrow attack a hospital?"
"That's what we got to find out," Dick replied.

*Kory doing the dishes and Komand'r comes in and they talk. (The scene where Komand'r tried to mess with Conner doesn't happen)*
2018TITANS2018
Kory continued staring at Komand'r, waiting for her to accept what she had just been told. Earth wasn't like Tamaran, and the sooner her sister got that through her head, the better. It was already difficult having her here knowing that she killed their parents and forced her to kill Faddei, Kory did not want her to hurt anyone else, especially her team. But if Komand'r did try anything, Kory would have no problem with locking her back up in that lab. At least, until she found a way to send her back to Tamaran with no way of returning.
The tense standoff ended when Hank, Dawn and Conner walked in. Immediately sensing rigid air, Dawn asked, "Everything okay in here?"
"We're fine," Kory answered, glaring at the other royal alien another few seconds before she relaxed and turned her head to face the others. "I was thinking of making tacos for supper. You guys cool with that?"
"Sounds good to me. I'm getting a little tired of pizza," Conner admitted, causing Hank to chuckle.
"Don't tell Gar that. He might have a stroke or something," Dawn warned him with a smiling, moving to the fridge to get some vegetables out to prepare for the tacos.
"Where is Gar anyways?" Hank wondered as he sat down at the kitchen island.
As if summoned, Gar walked into the room from the other entrance with Dick, and said, "Right here."
"Hey, you came finally came up for air," Kory said, carefully looking the Titans' leader over. He seemed to be walking okay, and she didn't see any blood on him, so he hadn't pulled his stitches at all. That was good.
Dick was about to respond, but then he noticed the other woman in the room, the one that he didn't know but looked a bit like Kory. "I take it this is your sister."
"Komand'r, or Blackfire if that's easier for you to say," the current Queen of Tamaran introduced herself, then lifted her hand for Dick to take and kiss, as was the custom on her planet. "The pleasure is yours."
"Also known as the person who killed your parents, and Kory's boyfriend," Dick shot back with a bit of a snark. Realizing that he was not going to give her the respect that she was used to and expecting, Komand'r dropped her hand.
"Yeah," Kory confirmed, more pleased than she expected to be at the fact that Dick didn't take her sister's hand.
"I just got a call from Barbara. Gotham General Hospital was just attacked, some kind of device was stolen. I'm going over there to check it out," Dick informed the others, now ignoring the other Tamaranian.
"You want us to suit up?" Hank asked, eager to get back into action. He had a lot of anger pent up from his near death and was aching to take it out on someone. A certain someone in particular.
"No, no need for that. It shouldn't take me long," Dick responded as he shook his head.
"You're going alone?" Dawn tried and failed to hide her confusion.
"You just got shot," Kory jumped to add.
"Wouldn't be the first time," he replied with a shrug, then he walked out of the room, saying, "I'll keep in touch."
Kory shook her head and let out an exasperated sigh. Yes, she knew that Dick was extremely stubborn. Yes, she knew that he had a hard time resting and recovering from being injured, but she had never seen him push it like this. They had all been fortunate that they haven't suffered any serious injuries until now, but she was usually able to get Dick to rest the few times they did occur while on patrol in San Francisco. Just now, it was like talking to a brick wall. She wondered if it was because Jason, or if it was simply this city. Ever since they arrived in Gotham, she could see the different ways Dick was acting. He was far more serious, stubborn, and quick to anger. It was like this city was bringing out the worst in him. She hated it.
The quiet tsk escaping her sister's mouth had Kory shake off her thoughts and turn her attention to Komand'r, who was staring at her, smirking.
"I understand now. The green-haired one isn't your manservant. Clearly he," Komand'r said, pointing at the door that Dick just used to exit the room, "satisfies your urges."
While Kory glared, Hank, Dawn, and Gar all snorted and started chuckling. Conner on the other hand, remained confused. Apparently Gar hadn't yet explained what the younger royal was talking about earlier, and she was okay with that. She would rather this whole topic be dropped and forgotten about. However, Gar and Hank were here. There was no chance they would ever let her forget about this.
Through his laughter, Gar said, "Oh, I wish Rachel was here to see this."
2018TITANS2018
Barbara stared at the hospital room with a worried expression. She wasn't sure whether or not to hope that this was connected to the Red Hood and Scarecrow, or that it was committed by someone else for reasons that had nothing to do with them. If it was the latter, then would have to divide her time and her police force to work both cases which would make finding the new criminal, and Jason and Crane, harder. If it was the former though, that meant another crime to add to the growing list of illegal actions those two had taken, and even more questions about what those two were up to, along with knowing that the two had slipped back into the city undetected.
Hearing a faint but familiar voice, Barbara lifted her head and saw Dick making his way down the crowded hospital hallway towards her. Despite the situation, she found herself smiling at the sight. She may not have been there in person when he was shot, but she saw it through the cameras on the patrol cars and through the security footage. Seeing him in person now, confirming that he was okay, filled her with relief.
"Hey Barbara," he greeted and smiled.
"Hey," she said back. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm alright. What happened here?" Dick inquired, looking around and seeing the bloody mess in the hospital room.
"Someone broke into the hospital to steal a shortwave positron multiplier. It's a device that was created to help children with, some kind of disease, I'm not sure what," Barbara admitted that last part a little reluctantly, wheeling her chair into the room with Dick so they could both see crime scene better.
"Any survivors?"
"Just one, the patient, who was put under general anesthesia, so he knows nothing. There's no security footage either. Power to the whole building had been cut about two minutes before the attack happened," Barbara informed him, gesturing to the cameras in the corners of the room.
"We're on the third floor. There's no way that the attacker could've cut the power outside, then get up here in that amount of time. They would've had to have already been in the building…"
"Unless they had a partner," Dick finished the sentence for her.
Barbara let out a resigned sigh as she nodded. It made the most sense. Not only with Dick's deductions, but criminals in Gotham hardly ever worked alone. Thieves, traffickers, even murderers usually have partners, accomplices, or are on a crime lord's payroll. There maybe was only ever one or two times a year the police found a someone doing something illegal completely on their own. It was actually kind of strange, but Gotham always had a strange criminal element. She was used to it at this point.
"You think it's Crane and Jason?" Barbara then asked, seeing Dick's eyes start to turn calculated and serious, like they always did whenever he came up with a theory on a case, or when he discovered some new evidence.
"That device, I've heard of it. Wayne Enterprises helped fund the doctor who created it. It could be used to mass produce drugs," Dick revealed. It was then Barbara realized what Dick had already figured out what Crane could do with that stolen device.
"Fear toxin kind of drugs, or the kind of drug that Jason is using?" Barbara wondered, not sure what was worse. Fear toxin could be made strong enough to literally frighten people to death, and would cause mass chaos, but the drug Jason was using seemed to be what was making him uncontrollably violent.
"No idea," the former Robin said. "But either way, it's not good."
2018TITANS2018
After he finished up with Barbara, Dick headed back to the Manor to fill the Titans in on what he just learned. As he did though, Kory and Conner asked him when Crane's fear toxin was. Dick had forgotten that they didn't know much about Gotham's 'crazies', as the city's citizens dubbed them. Even Gar didn't know that much despite being obsessed with superheroes and villains. The internet and news outlets often don't have all the information, nor are they fairly accurate. So, he had to go into the history of fear toxin as well.
Conner however, had a hard understanding it all. "Why would Crane want to even create fear toxin?"
"Long story short, he was terrorized by his abusive grandmother and badly bullied, so he became obsessed with making everyone terrified. He uses the fear toxin to do it, and depending on the type and strength of it, it can kill people. He also changes the formula he uses each time, which makes whatever antidotes were created for his last toxin, almost completely useless," Dick provided, sounding like he was exhausted.
"Almost?" Kory prodded.
"The antidotes usually lessen the effects to the point they aren't deadly, but it still takes hours for the toxin to wear off. During that whole time, the victims are trapped hallucinating their worst fears." Though the fact that antidotes kept people from dying was reassuring, Dick's description of what the toxin did people was terrifying.
"Well, that's awful," Conner stated.
"Yup, which is why we need to find them before they start attacking people," Hank chimed in. When he and Dawn were in Gotham years ago, back before the Titans formed, they had seen what Scarecrow's fear toxin could do. Luckily, they didn't actually have to fight the guy. Batman didn't trust them enough to let them help capture him. They were to help the victims of the toxin, along with helping the police stop any violence that was caused by the people trapped in hallucinations that they were being attacked.
"Um, guys?" Gar called out, pointing to the TV screen in the living room that had been muted when Dick came back to the Manor. "I think they have already started."
The only way to describe the footage playing on the screen was complete and total mayhem. People were running around the streets screaming, faces filled with terror. It looked like the police were already putting blockades up, to both keep the victims from getting past and hurting people, and to keep others from coming into the area as they don't know exactly how the fear toxin was spread. They don't want more people getting dosed than there already were.
And of course, it was at this moment that Dick's phone started ringing. Glancing down at it quickly, he saw that it was Barbara, most likely calling to let him know what was going on. Instead of answering though, he declined the call. He felt a little guilty, but they already knew what was going on and he'd rather continue warning the newest heroes about what to expect when dealing with the victims of fear toxin. He immediately texted Barbara back though, telling her that he'd call her in a minute or two.
"Do we even have any antidotes?" Hank had a feeling that the answer to that would be 'no', since Scarecrow had been in Arkham for years now, but you never know with Batman. He had a tendency to be overprepared for everything.
Dick nodded, and said, "We should have a few at least, in the vault. Dawn, there should still be a formula on the Batcomputer for the latest antidote on the fear toxin. Find it and send it to the police and hospital. They should be able to use it to make more. Everyone else, let's suit up."
"Wait, what about me?" Dawn asked, realizing that Dick did not mention her suiting up with them.
"Dove is grounded, remember?" He said, sounding like his reasoning should have been obvious, which it should've been. However, with following Kory to her imprisoned sister, coming home and finding Dick shot and almost bleeding out, Dawn had forgotten that she wasn't allowed to go out crimefighting because of the part she played with Red Hood getting that truck of gold.
Seeing her face drop, Dick offered, "You can take comms," then headed for the Cave, the others headed off after him.
Dawn nodded, a little reluctantly. She wasn't happy with the idea of having to stay behind while the others hit the streets. She remembered seeing the craziness of people affected by fear toxin. To have the others, especially Gar and Conner, out there and not being with them unnerved her. And Hank, he almost died two days ago, and Dick almost died just last night and was recovering from a bullet wound. That would definitely affect their fighting performance out in the field.
Suddenly, a large hand landed on her should. Turning her head, Dawn saw Hank standing right beside her, a concerned expression covering his face. She hadn't noticed that he was still there.
"You okay?"
"Just, promise me you'll be careful?" Dawn requested.
"Always," he promised, then pressed a quick peck to her forehead before leaving the room. After a moment, Dawn followed.
2018TITANS2018
Within two hours, the Titans had come across 128 people affected by Scarecrow's fear toxin. Thankfully, Bruce's paranoia caused some preparation for this, even if it was indeed his idea that Crane help GPD out. He still had several vials of the antidotes from the last batch of fear toxin, which the Titans took with them. The instructions on how to create it were also saved in a file on the Batcomputer. As soon as Dawn found it, she sent it to Barbara to give to the hospital. The other Titans also gave many of their antidotes to the EMTs and the police officers so they could also help the victims. However, they were quickly running low of their supply, yet the number of victims seemed to be getting higher.
"This is anarchy!" Gar had to shout in order for the others to hear over the screams of the citizens being terrorized by drugs and the sirens from the police cars and ambulance nearby.
"That's kind of the point!" Hank yelled back as he stuck the man he had tackled to the ground with a needle full of the toxin's antidote. He then waited a minute for it to take effect. They had learned pretty quickly that Scarecrow had indeed changed his fear toxin formula again, so the antidotes they had weren't completely effective, but it helped calm the victims down enough for them to be safely restrained and brought to the ambulance or to the police, who would take it from there.
Conner agreed with Gar that this situation was chaotic. He had never seen anything like that, but that wasn't saying much. He only got out of CADMUS about four months ago. However, he was doing okay with keeping up with the chaos. Being part Kryptonian, he had more stamina than humans, along with the super strength and other super powers. Sure, he was uncomfortable with all the terrified screaming, and he had to be careful when grabbing people, like the old man he was currently restraining, so that he didn't injure them with his strength, but he wasn't breaking a sweat yet like the others were.
"Is Gotham always this crazy?" Conner questioned, looking over at Dick who, despite being human and fighting as much as the others, didn't seem to be breaking a sweat either.
"That's what this city is known for, Superboy," Dick revealed, helping an officer get the man he had been fighting a minute ago up to his feet before letting him go so the officer could take him over to the patrol car. The ambulance was full at this point, and was getting ready to leave.
Taking a look at the other five civilians in the alley, still screaming in fear, Conner said, "I think I prefer San Francisco."
"That's the last of my antidotes," Kory informed everyone as they all came together. Dick checked his own belt for more, but frowned when he saw that he was also out. It only took a glance at the others to realize that they were also out. That wasn't good. This alley might be clear, but the sound of horrified screams could still be heard from others in the area.
"There's still so many more," Conner pointed out.
"I know, but Barbara sent the instructions for making more to the hospital," Dick reminded them. "Hopefully, they're making more as we speak."
"Unfortunately, that won't be happening very quickly," a voice came from the shadows before Jonathan Crane appeared in the opening of the alley in front of them. "With me being in Arkham so long, the hospital has gotten a bit, well, laxed in staying prepared for my fear toxin."
Dick waited for Jason, or some other goons that Crane hired, but no one else showed up. He stood alone at the end of the alley, looking far too confident and proud while wearing black pants, a baggy, torn, black shirt with a black leather jacket. He looked like a guy trying to get into a biker gang or something, instead of a supposed 'master of fear'. Especially with his hair greased back.
"I thought you said he dressed up like a scarecrow," Conner whispered to Gar. However, he wasn't as quiet as he thought was, because Crane quickly addressed his lack of 'uniform'.
"That I did. Unfortunately, my suit was confiscated when I was arrested, and I haven't managed to find it yet."
Considering his Scarecrow suit was actually in one of the vaults in the Batcave, it was a good thing that he hadn't found it. Hopefully that meant that despite working for him, Jason hadn't told Crane everything about them.
"What did you do to Jason?" Gar demanded with a fury that Dick hadn't heard from him before.
"I did what no one else did, I helped him," Crane answered, a sick grin on his face. "And now, I'm going to help you."
Before anyone could question him further, something fell from above, landing right in the center of the group. And before any of the heroes could figure out what it was, a cloud of smoke covered them.
Dick ran forward through the smoke cloud, determined to get out of the blind spot, leaving the other Titans behind, coughing from the sudden chemicals filling their air. This was a diversion. He wasn't sure why it was needed, as Crane didn't have to reveal himself, and Jason wasn't here, but he couldn't let Crane get away. That man needed to be caught as soon as possible. They needed to know what he was planning and where Jason was.
But once he reached the spot where Crane had been standing, he was already gone, as though he had never been there.
"Where did he go?" Dick asked, wondering if any of his teammates saw where the criminal disappeared to.
"Nightwing!" Conner's called out, causing Dick to turn back around.
Gar and Hank were both on the ground, eyes open wide, unseeing but filled with fear. The animal shifter's skin was turning green in some spots, signaling that he was about to shift into a tiger, or maybe a different animal. Hank was shaking his head, mumbling something that he couldn't hear, looking like he was about to cry. It was then that Dick realized what happened. The smoke bombs were filled with fear toxin, and they breathed it in.
Thankfully, Conner and Krypto seemed to be okay. They must've either gotten out of the smoke cloud like Dick had, or had simply blown it away with their breath. The struggle that Conner was currently having though, was Kory. Like Gar and Hank, her eyes were wide open and filled with fear and panic. But unlike them, she was still standing up, and was currently fighting against Conner, who had his arms wrapped around her from behind.
"Can you hold onto her while I deal with Hawk and Beast Boy?" Dick asked as slowly moved towards Gar. He had no idea what the boy was seeing and didn't want to scare him more than he already was or cause him to attack if he charged right at him.
"Yeah, I think so," Conner answered, his voice a bit strained as he struggled to keep a hold on the other alien. Dick wasn't sure how long Conner could restrain her, Kory was extremely strong, especially if she started using her powers, but he was the best person for the job. Dick was only human after all. She'd easily break out of Dick's arms.
Gar remained still as Dick approached him and crouched down. It wasn't until Dick took a hold of his wrists that he tried to pull away. He didn't try to actively struggle though. Whatever he was seeing was making him freeze, not fight or flee. It made restraining his hands and feet with the zip-ties a simple task, if it weren't for Gar whispering, "No. Please no. I don't want to."
Unfortunately, Hank wasn't much better. In fact, it was a little harder because he did try to push the original Robin away. It took a few minutes, and he had to get Hank down on his stomach in order to restrain him, but he did it, and his pleas were just as bad, if not worse than Gar's. As soon as he got Hank fully on the ground, he could hear him beg, "Don't. Don't touch him. Leave Don alone."
"Come on, let's get them out of here," Dick told Conner, moving to get off of Hank and doing his best to ignore what the other man was saying. With his hands and feet restrained, and still dealing with hallucinations, the older, larger man was no longer a threat and couldn't move.
"How?" The clone wondered, still holding onto Kory, who was still struggling against him with all of her might. Gar and Hank might be okay for now, but with her powers and strength, it would be harder to keep her from doing any damage or hurting anyone. And they wouldn't be able to transport the three of them on their bikes. They were going to need a pick up.
So Dick reached for his comm-link and said, "Dove, we need a lift."
"I'll be right there."
With that confirmation, the Titans' leader looked back over at Conner. Kory's fighting had increased in the last few minutes, and Conner was now trying to force her onto the ground. He was about to go and help, but Krypto actually ran headfirst into the side of her legs, making her lose her balance. It was easy for Conner to get her on the pavement after that. He didn't zip-tie her though. Instead, he leaned over her, holding her arms down while the super-powered dog laid across her legs. That would have to do for now.
Dick then headed back over to Gar, whose whispers had gotten louder and tears were now running down his face. It was heartbreaking, hearing such fear in the younger hero's voice. Getting down onto his knees, he pulled him into his arms. He wasn't sure if it would make things better or worse, but he couldn't just let him lay there crying.
"It's going to be okay, Gar, you're going to be okay. Just hold on for me," Dick pleaded, trying to comfort him as much as he could while he shook and cried.
He remembered back when he was Robin, fighting Scarecrow and getting dosed with fear toxin for the first time. It was also one of the first times the villain had used it, so they didn't have antidotes yet, which meant Dick had to ride it out without any real help aside from IV fluids to try and flush it out of his system, and Bruce holding him. It sucked. Dick hated that his friends, his family, his kid, were now going through the same thing.
"Stop moving Kory, please," Conner groaned as he continued to struggle holding Kory down. He hoped she wouldn't start using her powers to fly. That would make things way worse.
After about ten minutes, which felt way longer than it should, a dark vehicle pulled into the alley at a speed that would send many people running away. Dick on the other hand, didn't flinch, and let out a sigh of relief. It wasn't the Batmobile, but it was the car that was in the Batcave that he and Bruce used for vigilante work if they wanted to be more discreet. He expected it when Dawn, dressed as Dove, jumped out of the driver's side of the vehicle, but he was surprised when a second person exited the car. Komand'r, dressed in armour that was a similar style to Kory's, following right at Dawn's heels.
"What happened?" Dawn demanded answers as she ran to Hank's side.
"Fear toxin, and we're out of antidotes," Dick filled her in, having to speak loudly in order to be heard over their screaming teammates. As soon as Dawn was closer, he nodded over at Komand'r, who was now crouched down beside Conner and Kory, and asked, "What is she doing here?"
"Thought you might need some help with her," Komand'r answered for the platinum blonde. Dick winced slightly at the realization that he wasn't as quiet as he thought he was, but almost immediately turned it into a glare.
"Don't do anything stupid," he warned her. Komand'r paused for a brief moment, then nodded and turned her attention back to helping Conner with her sister.
The former detective watched her for a few seconds, wanting to make sure that wasn't going to do anything that would hurt Kory or Conner. When he was satisfied that she was indeed being helpful, he picked Gar up from the ground and said, "Come on, let's get them back to the Cave. We can treat them there."
AN – The fact that they had Scarecrow as the main villain in season 3, but we never got to see his fear toxin except for the tiny amount in episode 12 is a bit ridiculous to me. So, I had him use it here, instead of having Jason steal a toxin that just makes people violent. I also took out Barbara being attacked by Lady Vic because I don't think I'm going to use the Oracle storyline. At least, not in that way. Hope you guys liked this chapter! Next chapter will finally have Jason's POV of what has been going on. Stay tuned!
