"Hooooot," Chie groaned as she rested her head on a table in the Junes rooftop food court. She quickly lifted her head with a screech. "Hotter!"
"Geez, don't you have anywhere else to be?" Yosuke complained as he approached, decked out in his Junes uniform. "Here." He handed her an ice-cold soda, causing Chie to stare up at him with stars in her eyes.
"I could kiss you for this most generous of bounties!"
"Dude. That's creepy. Just remember this the next time you try to spend my money without asking."
"You...! Ah, screw it. I'm too hot to be mad!" Chie practically popped the can open with pressure from her thumb alone. She downed around half of it in one go and let out a deep, satisfied sigh. "Yukiko's busy at the inn, Kanji-kun's helping out at the textile shop, Rise-chan's working at the tofu shop and Yu-kun's working at that daycare thing."
"Huh. I guess you're the only one without a job, huh?"
"Wha-! I worked here over the summer!"
"Yeah, for a week. How do you afford stuff anyway?"
"I get a pretty good allowance from my parents."
"Must be nice, living with both... Huh. I guess that's another way you're the odd one out."
"Don't call me odd. Don't you know that kind of talk can mess with the head of a tomboy like me?"
"Huh? Why? Everyone knows tomboys are cool, so why would something like that matter?"
"Wha-! Cool!?" Chie's face turned beat red, which certainly did not help with her heat situation. "Aaaaaaaargh, this heat's too muuuuuch!" Chie downed the rest of her soda and placed the empty can on its side on the table so she could rest her chin on top of it, allowing the cold aluminium to cool her off some more. "Ugh, this heat's messing with my vision. The 'S' in the Junes sign looks like a five."
Yosuke cocked an eyebrow and looked up at the sign. He could kind of see it, but that was likely just a case of confirmation bias. His eyes shot wide open as he realised what it looked like. "June Five."
"Huh? Yeah, I guess that's what-"
"JUNE5! I gotta tell my dad! We can use that for a promotion next year!"
"Really? You're that excited abou- Hey! Don't just leave when I'm still talking! Stupid Yosuke... JUNE5... Oh, that's actually pretty clever. Wait, Yosuke, I deserve some of the credit too!"
