Chapter three:

Hikaru is sitting in a sowing lesson with his mother. He is working on more complicated sowing methods which can make clothes turn out quite well. He is so focused that he doesn't actually notice that someone is watching from the doorway.

"That is very good Hikaru. Your method with your fingers is working beautifully. This technique should help you with silky fabric or with fabric that is more fragile." Their mother praises with her back to the door. She jolts with a yelp that makes Hikaru pause to turn to his mother. She tuns picking up a forma and rubber dart from the floor. Her attention turned to the doorway where Kaoru gives a slight smile. "Kaoru! Go practice your sneaking elsewhere! I am trying to do an important lesson with your brother!"

Kaoru smiles more then runs off as their father tells Kaoru to run.

Hikaru can't help a chuckle of his own while their mother lets out a sigh.

"Serious mood ruined." Their mother turns and tries to resume the lesson.

Hikaru still does pretty good though he smiles during it as he replays what had just happened in his mind.

Ah the fun of being a part of this family. Shenanigans like that happen more than one would think, hence the staff have gotten quite used to surprises making it a challenge to get too much of a reaction from the staff. It becomes a game to get a reaction out of them… Though sadly since their mother is more reactive she tends to be the target for such things to happen.

Their father brushes it off as just being good practice on their skills, for Kaoru especially.

Their mother can seem annoyed though actually doesn't mind the shenanigans. She's also got some of her own payback with sneak attacks on them for successful sneak attacks of their own. So she doesn't mind getting targeted for it.

Hikaru thinks that in a way it kind of brings them all together just a little more as it is just a family thing.

A month goes by with training going well… Until the twins are called into the living room…

The twins sit across from their parents on the carpet of the living room.

"What is it you wanted?" Hikaru inquires to which their father takes a breath.

"What we wanted to discuss with you two was about tonight." Their father explains to them. "I know it is kind of sudden however something has come up that has forced our hands in this. You see tonight your mother will be at an event and I am already scheduled on a high profile assassination. One that is quite important and difficult. However another important thing came up and we have decided that your time has come." His eyes turn to Kaoru especially as he allows their eyes to meet. "Kaoru. It is time for you to take your first kill."

Kaoru blinks in surprise at their father as he partially can't believe that it is finally happening. "You mean it?" He questions to which their father nods his head. His eyes shine in excitement that he is being trusted with such an important job for real this time. He even raises his head a little. "I won't let you down." He promises to them getting assuring smiles from their parents to say that they know that he won't."

"What am I going to be doing tonight?" Hikaru inquires gaining the attention to him instead. He clearly hopes that he gets to have his first mission with Kaoru like they had practiced for.

"You will be staying home." Their mother's words make Hikaru frown in disappointment. "Oh I am sorry sweetie. But this mission doesn't require the act with you in it. It will require more stealth. However we know that you two being so close may cause you Hikaru to do something that may hurt things if you are not told." She reaches over gently placing a hand on his cheek. "If there was a way you two could do this together we would take that route. However there isn't. You're just going to have to be ready to support your brother through this afterwards."

Their father hums in agreement. "A first kill is an experience that can never be replicated. It can come as a huge shock to someone once they process what they have just done. None of our training can prepare either of you for the real deal. Just be able to give you the skills to do it. That is it. So Kaoru may end up returning on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. I know with my first kill I couldn't believe I actually took another human's life. I took a few days before I could find some sense of normality in my life again. After the first kill things get easier and the adrenaline tends to never be as strong as the first kill is. However you may be able to help Kaoru relax after the whole thing. At least faster than he would be able to on his own. So you can prepare yourself for his return."

Hikaru blinks at their father. He supposes that though he doesn't get to go on a mission with his brother he is still aiding in the process in a different way. He lets out a small breath as he supposes that he can accept that condition. His eyes closing as he lets out that small breath. "Alright. I will prepare myself as best as I can for helping Kaoru through his emotions of his first kill." He opens his eyes after saying that managing to catch their fathers proud and happy look at his understanding.

"Thank you Hikaru. I know that it will mean a lot to Kaoru when this mission is over." Their father gets up to his feet. "For now I must speak with Kaoru in private so we may begin our preparations."

Kaoru gets to his feet and after sharing a smile with Hikaru he follows their father away to get started on the mission briefing. He clearly wants to be as prepared as he can be for his first real mission.

Their mother gives a smile to Hikaru. "Thank you my dear. I am sorry that the first mission is one that Kaoru will have to brave solo, instead of as team as you two would have preferred to have happen. At least for the first kill for Kaoru. However I know you will be wonderful when Kaoru needs you the most during the emotional rollercoaster." She gets a smile back from Hikaru then she heads off in the direction of her office as she had told them about a meeting so she wouldn't be bothered. She is more than likely going to her office early to make sure that she is ready for the meeting.

Hikaru stays sitting there on the living room floor. He looks down to his lap as he hopes that the both of them truly are ready for such a thing.

If Kaoru is caught then he gets charged with the crimes, and he will become known as an assassin which puts them all in danger especially Kaoru.

If Hikaru is unable to help Kaoru through the emotions after the fact of the kill then things could get worse. He is aware that Kaoru is a little more sensitive between them even though he tries to hide it. He wishes that he could have been there to help Kaoru right away instead of having to wait for him to return. He just can't change the circumstances of the mission since each one needs its own approach to assassinate yet not be seen. He watches some TV for now to pass the time then says by to their parents and Kaoru when the three set off for their things. He stands there in the entryway just after all three had left to get to where they need to go. "Please pull this off and come back to me alright my dearest brother." He whispers to himself glancing to what he can see of the sky before one of the maids closes the front doors.
