A/N: I do not own, or wish to claim ownership of the characters from Stephenie Meyer's books. I'm just writing this story for fun, my characters and plot are mine, there may be some elements from other Fanfic stories I have read but no direct copying.

Chapter 5: Prophetess Meeting Red

Waking early I fixed the door handle in the truck and got my lunch ready.

From the ice chest I grabbed three chilled thermal jugs and placed them in the chest mounted to the front of the pickup bed. I also grabbed two extra 16oz thermal cups, before heading to school.

Parking in the school lot, I was more than an hour early. Sitting back I took a drink out of my thermal cup. After five minutes someone started banging on the passenger door.

Looking over, I saw Edythe. She had a pissed expression and her eyes had dark circles like she did not get any sleep.

Eyes of course were black as night. Sighing I unlocked the doors, and Edythe got in.

Before Edythe could say anything, I thought it would be better to distract her. "How are you doing on this fine day?" Smiling at her.

The day was not fine, the weather looked cold and rainy even for me.

"I'm not doing fine, why did you tell my brother we made out in the hall? My brothers and sisters are laughing at me." Edythe was scrolling at me.

"I'm sorry Edythe, is there something I can do to make it up to you?" "Yes there is something" she dropped her scroll, leaned over the console. I was facing her and did not move.

I could tell she was scenting the air. Edythe smelled something and when she opened her mouth I could see her white fangs.

The sight of her fangs did not make me jump out of the truck or push her out of it. I was pretty sure with the strength I got from the drink and her not expecting it. I could shove her out of the truck.

Edythe face was lightly tanned and with her fangs out it made her more beautiful. I also leaned over the center console. We were so close, the compulsion to just reach out and pull her close was overpowering. If she did not have that hungry look in her eyes. I would have already pulled her into my arms.

Edythe reached her arms out. I waited for the contact of her hand.

"What is this?" I looked down at the console. She had her hand around the cup I was drinking out of.

"That is an energy drink I make." thinking back to Alice's golden eyes and her brothers hunting animals. I figured it would not hurt if she had a drink.

"You should try it." I said, giving Edythe an encouraging look. She picked up the cup and took a sniff. Running her touch across her lips, cutting it on her fans.

Bright the cup up and took a sip, then started gulping down the rest of the drink. *Crunch* She was clutching the stainless steel cup so tight it was starting to buckle.

Lowering the cup she gave me a sad look. "I'm sorry, I finished it off. "Would you like some more?"

Edythe looked down into the empty cup. "Yes." She said all excited. "Ok, wait here."

I got out of the truck, opened the chest and grabbed two of the jugs. Back in the truck I opened the jug with the same flavor as the one she chugged down.

"Here you go '' filling the cup she was still holding tightly. "Thank you"

Edythe finished off the first jug pretty quickly. The black circles around her eyes disappeared but her eyes were still black.

I reached into the back for another cup and filled it with the second jug. This was not my favorite flavored drink, Edythe drank that.

"Could I have some more? Edythe held out her cup. "I do not think you will like this one, especially after the first one." I said take a drink of the sour tasting shake.

She just shook her cup. "Ok, just try not to spit it out in the truck, if you do not like it, use the cup. I fill the cup half full.

Edythe did not even sniff the contents or sip, she just took a big gulp. "I won't." too late she swallowed it but began gaging.

"It's ok if you do like it. It is not my favorite flavor. I only have a few jugs of the first one and plenty of these ones. Plus this one is older and won't be drinkable next week." I told her, taking a sip of the drink.

She scrunched up her face. "Then why do you drink it?" I smiled at her. "Even though it's a bit sour, I still sort of like it." She took a sip this time scrunching up her face, then put the cup in the holder. "You're right, I do not like it."

Her face was clearing of hunger, eyes had shifted to an olive yellow. I'm pretty sure her family will notice this change. Edythe leaned back in the seat facing out the windshield, closed her eyes. I sat staring at her.

"We should be getting to class." I said after some time passed. Outside the sky was black and lightly raining.

From the temperature outside it was probably freezing rain too. "Ya, and I need to get my things from my car. Your forgiven and thanks for the drink, it was good and made me feel better.'' She smiled at me and leaned over the console.

I tried to distract her, again. "You should be wearing a coat, you could catch a cold. "I don't want to catch a cold." "[ Just you"] she whispered the last part.

Edythe twisted, laid across the center conceal and wrapped her arms around my waist, burying face into my chest. I was running at 125°F since she got into the truck so I had the heat off.

Without heat she was as cold as the air. With the difference, she would feel like I was a furnace. This did not stop me from wrapping my arms around her chest.

"You are so warm and smell nice." She nosed even closer, squeezing me tighter. "You do as well." I lied about the warm part. I could not help it, I started trying to see her future. had to make sure she would stay safe. I pulled in the vision.

~Edythe Future~

I was running through the woods, coming up to a clearing of trees Edythe stopped. She started sniffing the air. I could tell she was listening carefully to everything around. *Crack**Nap* sounded from the woods coming towards her. "Is that you red wolf" if it was me in Red's form I would not be that loud. Edythe faced a group of trees that were shaking from whatever was coming.

The 6′6″ all black wolf launched from the trees. Edythe did not have time to move. The wolf closed its mouth over her right side. Its mouth was so big it was able to take a chunk from the center of her chest up the collar bone and her entire right arm. My chest felt like it was ripped out. "EDYTHE" I cried

~Vision Ends~

The vision shattered. I was back in the truck in the school parking lot. My whole body was shaking. "What is wrong?" Edythe said, trying to pull away. In my current state I was so close to shifting into my true supernatural form, that I possessed all of my power and strength.

The need to protect her, I pulled her even tighter to me, if she was human it would have broken her back. I also threw up a strong mental block on her. Sticking my nose in her hair I took in her true scent so I could find her anywhere.

Cold air hit my back as the driver door behind me opened. "What did you do?" a high pitch girl's videos practically screamed in my over sensitive ears.

"Alice, why are you here?"

Alice practically screamed in my ear. "I'm saving you from him. Let her go Jason." Alice said this in a way that she knew something.

I ran through the possible outcome of the vision starting now and moving forward. In the possibilities, one thing had to happen to keep Edythe safe

First I released Edythe and stepped out of the truck, closing the door. "I need to talk to you in private" I stepped up to Alice and placed my right hand on her left arm.

Now I'm blocking Alice from any mental intrusion. "[I know what you are prophetess.]" she tried to step out of my grip but I just held on tighter.

"[Alice, i need to maintain contact to block you from all mental influence, even your empath boyfriend. He is coming this way, doesn't look happy, I'm touching you and he cannot read your emotions. I'm also going to guess that Edythe is going to be mad at us both, for this because you can not tell her.]"

Just as Jasper was about to get close enough to punish me for grabbing his Alice. "Everyone, I need to talk with Jason in private."

"Alice" Jasper, Edward, and Edythe said together. Alice started to give Edward a look. Edward shook his head and gestured with his hands.

"[Alice, he can not read your thoughts now.]" I whisper to Alice. She gave me a frustrated look "[I forgot, how annoying.]"

"Go on to class, I'll join you later." She smiled at her family.

I pulled Alice over to the tree line across the parking lot far away from the school building and her nosey siblings.

"Ok we should be far enough away from your nosy siblings" I said to Alice. She did not say anything so I started.

"You asked me back in the truck, what did I do?" "Well, you may have heard that I can block my mind, but that is not the extent of it. I can block all mental intrusion or attack, I also can rebound it back at the person."

"Yes, my brothers have told me this. If it works to protect your mind, how come I can not see you in any of my visions, sometimes even Edythe disappears for hours, then I can see her again?"

"That is because I'm another type of seer."

"What, you have visions of the future and what do you mean by type of seer?"

"In human terms I'm a Clairvoyant, I need to make physical contact with something, living or not." I was explaining to Alice. "Is that the real reason you grabbed my arm?" "No, Let me finish." I ask. Alice node her head

"The reason you can not see me in your vision, is because we are both seers, no matter the type. It has to do with the interference we create.

We can both see the same event but any action we take creates a new future, changing the future, meaning the event never happened.

So when you see the future and I'm there I will be completely invisible and vice versa. This also applies to scrying, which is seeing someone in the present." I explained all this to Alice.

"Alice, I need to know if you had a vision about Edythe getting hurt." As I said this I started shaking.

"No, What did you see?" "It would be better if i show you." "You can do that?"

"Yes but I'll need to enter your mind and project my thoughts to you. This projection will send you everything about the vision, even my emotions then and now."

Alice only took a moment to think before saying "Yes." Opening my mind I sent her the memories from the start of the vision to her opening my truck door.

"What are we going to do to stop this?" Alice did not even waver. Her being a seer helps speed this vision thing along.

"I'll get in touch with the wolf guardian to keep an eye on the young one." "What do you mean wolf guardian?" Alice asked.

"Edythe showed me a drawing of him crouching next to a tree." "What that little red wolf that Jasper and Emmet were hunting and lost is the guardian?"

"They were hunting a wolf, in an area it is illegal to kill a wolf.'' I said this with a horrified expression. "Well they aaa" She trails off.

"I would like you to keep Edythe home for the next few days and have someone watching her. After school I'll talk to the wolf guardian." "why don't you just call him now?"

"Alice, there are hundreds of miles of forest, he is a wolf, he does not carry a phone." I just rolled my eyes.

"I could skip school and go look for him." said Alice

"Alice, like I said hundreds of miles of forest and he escaped your brother and boyfriend." "Fine" she huffed

"Can you keep this secret from your brother or do I need to block you from him?"

"Yes, I have practice hiding stuff from those two." "ok, let's get to class." I released Alice and we headed for the school.

I did not see the Hales or Cullens all morning. Edythe did not show up in Algebra 2 and English. Jenn sat next to me in English and she placed her hand on my back.

"Are you Ok, '' she asks. "Yes, I'm fine." I huffed. Shrugging off her hand and sticking my head in the book.

When Jenn's hand was on me I saw she would take her trip to Seattle, Washington next weekend. The rest of the school day was slow and boring.
