Once the Saiyan woman and the human boy entered what would be 'Grayditch' they were met with a rather depressing sight, but they didn't have much time to admire the place because they quickly had to hide behind a nearby sign in the face of what was several meters from their position.
"... Bryan?" said Goki the name of the boy he is helping, while at the same time he started to look at the latter.
The brown-haired boy (who stood behind the woman; a little scared for obvious reasons) looked up and met the striking black eyes of his heroine, so immediately his fear vanished as if by 'magic'.
"Yes, Miss Goki?" he said with a slightly nervous tone, as the woman in exotic and striking orange with blue clothing provoked a strange feeling of butterflies in his stomach; and this was because according to his father's words it was a sign that he was in love, and remembering that; his mind was transported to that particular day, that the latter said such words to him.
Flashback
Bryan, as he did every day after finishing his chores at home (cleaning, cooking, etc.), began to read the first volume of Grognak the Barbarian, where he saw something that caught his attention.
"Father?" he said loud enough to call out to the adult sitting on the top step of the stairs.
Fred Wilks stopped cleaning his Chinese assault rifle; then looked up at his only son, who was sitting comfortably on the couch.
"Yes, son?" he said with a small smile on his lips.
The boy stopped looking at the page where Grognak was watching a blonde-haired woman with a silly grin.
"What's it like to be in love?" asked Bryan with obvious curiosity.
The adult was taken by surprise at the child's question, but quickly recovered and instead smiled broadly.
"Well ... When I first saw your mother, she was the most beautiful and funniest woman I'd ever seen in my entire life," Fred replied rather wistfully as he remembered the love of his life, only to have him set aside his Chinese assault rifle.
The boy's light blue eyes moistened as he listened to his father's words about his mother ... Whom he never knew because she died when she brought him into this world.
"It was a strange feeling, but a nice one ... It was as if thousands of butterflies flew inside my stomach and my heart started beating harder. I also remember that I couldn't even speak properly in his presence," Fred revealed with a nervous laugh at the end of his words, while at the same time scratching his head with his right hand.
The younger brown nodded his head at his father's words, and the latter also accompanied him with an amused laugh that lasted for quite a while; until finally they were silent for almost a full minute.
"Thank you, Father," Bryan said sincerely, while at the same time brushing a small tear from his left eye with his right hand.
The older chestnut nodded his head slightly with a small smile on his lips.
"By the way ... Happy birthday, Bryan," congratulated Fred to his beloved son, while at the same time pulling out of his jacket pocket a Grognak the Barbarian magazine.
Bryan's eyes widened in disbelief when he saw the magazine of Grognak the Barbarian in his father's hand ... It was the second volume!
End of Flashback
The Saiyan woman's coal-dark eyes stopped looking at the boy (who was lost in his own thoughts), and then focused on the large insects prowling the area in search of intruders.
"Why are ants so big?" asked Goki rather curiously and with a certain degree of innocence, for she did not remember such insects being of such size in her world ... But she admitted that there were others that were ten times as large and dangerous in her home.
The brown-haired boy had to snap out of those memories when he heard the voice of the woman in exotic orange and blue clothing calling him, but the question she asked him left him in thought for a long time.
"... I'm not quite sure what the full answer would be. Although dad says the ants mutated because of the radiation ... But that they spit fire; they started doing that a couple of days ago," Bryan explained with a frown as he remembered how one of those giant ants roasted a mole rat with fire; he shuddered as he remembered its squeals of pain.
The black-haired woman with palm-tipped black hair had half understood the boy's explanation, but she was no doubt somewhat excited that the ants could exhale fire because they could be a bit of a challenge.
"Radiation?" asked Goki with a confused tone, she even tilted her head to the side making her look very tender and cute.
The brown blinked several times at the question of the woman in striking orange and blue clothing, while at the same time he blushed slightly at the attitude of the latter ... But shaking his head slightly he decided to answer her doubt.
"The radiation is-"
Although Bryan never got to finish his words because apparently the ants discovered where he was hiding thanks to his keen senses.
"Do you have a place to hide, Bryan?" asked Goki this time with a serious tone, while at the same time rising from his position.
The brown-haired man swallowed his saliva with obvious fear at the approach of the dangerous insects, but managed to give a slight nod to the expectant young woman anyway.
"Well, go hide. Now," Goki ordered in the same serious tone of voice. "I'll take care of the ants," she assured this time with a smile on her lips as she knuckled the knuckles of both hands.
The blue-eyed boy at first had his doubts about whether the woman would have a chance to face hand to hand against certain insects because she did not have any firearm ... But when he looked into her eyes, he knew immediately that she was serious, so he decided not to contradict her and do what she ordered him to do.
"Um... Y-Yes!" said Bryan almost in a stutter, to be followed by him jumping up from his spot and starting to run towards the only Pulowski conservation shelter in the area; which was next to an abandoned diner called 'Dot's Diner'.
Once the brown-haired boy entered the small shelter and was safe from the giant fire ants, the lower-class Saiyan woman prepared for the next confrontation.
"How dangerous will these be?"
The woman with eyes as dark as coal did not get to finish her words because one (fire soldier ant) of the six ants that were in front of her exhaled a stream of fire from its tongs, but as if they were synchronized the others followed suit an instant later, enveloping the intruder with large amounts of fire as a kind of current
…
..
.
Luckily, she reacted fast enough to cover herself in time by forming an 'x' with her arms in front of her surprised face; and at the same time, she jumped backwards landing on an old abandoned car that complained at the force the Saiyan woman applied with her feet.
"HEY! I wasn't ready!" exclaimed Goki very annoyed; once she uncrossed her arms exposing part of her face and some of her hair a little singed ... But that was not all because her Gi was about to rip (Again) on her abdomen and chest leaving even more exposed skin; although this of course made her angry and a lot.
No doubt this would be a black day for the giant fire ants because angering a Saiyan woman was the worst mistake they could make in their lives.
Very Close to Goki-Kakaroko and Bryan
The Lone Wanderer had been following a certain duo closely; until he reached a point where he had to hide again so as not to be noticed by them ... Where he almost instantly realized why they had stopped in their tracks.
"... Fire-spitting ants?" wondered David with a somewhat ironic tone because no doubt this new world always surprised him with something a little crazier than what came before.
Suddenly, though, something happened that left the blue-eyed young man with his mouth open in disbelief, and this was that one of the fire ants crashed very close to his position (a ruined wall) causing the ground beneath his feet to tremble slightly under the force of the blow.
"Impossible..." muttered David with wide eyes at the feat of the exotic black-haired woman. "That level of strength ... It shouldn't be possible ... Who are you?" he said to himself with his gaze fixed on the woman who was sending fire ants flying all over the place with kicks and the occasional punch at astonishing speed.
Seeing that the danger of certain fire-exhaling insects was no longer a problem to his safety, the Lone Wanderer got up from his hiding place in the rubble and quickly ducked into the abandoned coffee shop ... Luckily, the woman in the peculiar orange-and-blue outfit did not see him; but another person hiding in a Pulowski conservation shelter did.
With Goki-Kakaroko
After killing the giant ants (a total of 15) within a radius of about 500 meters, the black-haired woman with the palm-shaped spiky tip began to explore more calmly than before because said fire-breathing insects stopped attacking her and instead fled as her six legs allowed (away from the supreme predator that 'invaded' her territory) ... To her confusion and curiosity.
"Which house should I see first~? ..." wondered Goki with a thoughtful expression; once he stopped scurrying the last remaining 'poor' worker fire ant because the others had fled at the first chance they got.
The coal-dark eyes of our beloved protagonist moved between the two two-story houses (Brandice's house and Wilkes' house) and the small shack (Dr. Lesko's house) made of scrap metal and wood.
"I'll take a look at the small house," Goki said to herself with a smile, while at the same time she started walking towards Dr. Lesko's hut where she opened the door without any problem; even though it was locked, but the strength of the intruder was too much for a piece of metal.
The woman with black hair spiked in the shape of a palm tree was hoping to find some food in such a place because she was 'starving' ... And of course, Bryan's father.
Five Minutes Later
Our beloved protagonist crestfallen left the small house made of scrap metal; all the time with her eyes fixed on her new navy-blue boots with red edges.
"There was no food..." whispered Goki rather depressed and sad, as again her stomach was complaining for lack of food.
Although on the other hand it had not been in vain to enter the said place because thanks to a mirror that was on a table near what looked like an old computer; she realized that her clothes were in tatters leaving several parts of her body (especially her large breasts) in view to any pervert ... Like that group of bad people in the small supermarket.
"Let's see if there's any luck at the next house (Wilkes' house) ..." muttered Goki without much desire this time; once he was in front of the door of the two-story house, where he unconsciously asked Kami-sama for some food.
With a determined look, the Saiyan woman moved her right hand to the doorknob of the house and then turned it to open the door, or at least that was the plan ...
{CRACK!}
"Oops..." said Goki with a hint of nervousness when he saw that he had not measured his strength, and thus stood with the door handle in his hand.
Anyway, the woman with eyes as dark as coal left the object on the floor and then entered the two-story house where she hoped with some hope to find food to calm her stomach.
With the Lone Wanderer
When a certain blond arrived at the only Pulowski conservation shelter in Grayditch where a certain boy was hiding and protecting himself from the fire ants; for a moment he almost forgot he was there.
"Hello? Are you there, kid?" said David in a low voice; and at the same time, he took a quick look around checking that there were no ants nearby ... Luckily, they were all gone, well the few that were left alive at least because a certain young woman beat them to a pulp.
Suddenly an uncomfortable silence filled the place, and no doubt the young man was tempted to get the hell out of Grayditch and run off to Megaton to rest in his warm, soft bed... Perhaps he would tell Moira what happened on the basis of a believable lie.
"...Who are you?" finally asked Bryan; also, in a low tone for fear that the fire ants would come back and finish what they started.
The Lone Wanderer saw nothing wrong with telling the infant the truth, so with a somewhat weary sigh he decided to answer him.
"My name is David and I come from Megaton," he answered normally; for there was no point in speaking in a low voice any longer.
There was another awkward silence (Bryan had been left with his mouth open at the response of the stranger known as 'David') as it seemed that the boy was left thinking for a while the words of the Lone Wanderer ... Until suddenly the latter again had the courage to speak again.
"Megaton?" asked Bryan with a tone somewhere between curious and surprised.
David nodded his head slightly (even though he wasn't looking at him), but smiled a little at the boy's curiosity because in some ways he reminded him of himself in his childhood.
With Goki-Kakaroko
Once our beloved protagonist entered the two-story house; she found a horrible and very sad scene ... Most of the place was burned because of certain insects, and there was also a semi-burned body full of bites.
"Oh, no..." muttered Goki with obvious sadness; seeing the father of a certain child lying lifeless on the ground surrounded by several dead ants. "What will I tell Bryan?" she said to herself with her eyes glazed over because she could do nothing to bring him back to life ... Not without the dragon spheres (which were obviously not in her position) and that made her feel very bad; almost on the verge of tears.
After standing for a while in the same position; where she made a minute of silence for the loss of Mr. Wilks, Goki lifted the body of the latter and placed it gently on a nearby chair where she closed his eyes ... Undoubtedly this man had died as a true warrior protecting his son, and that was more than enough to earn her respect.
When she finished doing that, the black-haired woman with palm-shaped spiky hair began to tidy up the house a bit, starting first with the dead ants where she piled them up one by one in a small mountain (now that she saw them up close it is possible that they were edible; since she is very hungry) and also cleaned most of the dining room; where she also had to put out a fire that some insects had left behind.
"Ready!" exclaimed Goki with a small smile, while at the same time stretching her voluptuous body where her oversized breasts stood out a lot.
Suddenly he remembered his main mission, though, and this obviously caused that smile to be wiped almost instantly from his lips.
"Now I have to tell Bryan about his father..." whispered Goki this time with sadness at the thought of how the boy would receive the tragic news.
After thinking for a full minute about what she would say to Bryan, the lower-class Saiyan woman walked to the door of the house at a slow pace (because she was purposely stalling because she didn't like to deliver the bad news) and then slowly opened it with a lump in her throat when she came face to face with a pair of light blue and blue eyes staring at her in a daze.
End of Chapter Two
I hope you liked the second chapter of this story, and that you obviously enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
I will ask you a couple of questions and you will leave (if you want xD) your answers/opinions:
What will Dr. Lesko's reaction to Goki-Kakaroko's superhuman strength be?
Why do you think fire ants flee at the sight of our beloved Saiyan woman?
Do you believe that the rest of the Brandice family members are dead as well as William Brandice, (the Enclave's defector doctor)?
As I always tell you in every story I write, if you have any opinion or criticism leave it in the comments box, I'm always interested in reading what you think about the stories I upload.
Well, that would be all until the next chapter.
Ja ne!
The chapter has 3000 words.
