The afternoon passed uneventfully for Yami, but he knew every single one of his actions was being judged and remembered by Pegasus.
The agent refused to leave.
Even when pressured by Isono who brought him his things, Pegasus stayed glued to Yami's side, following him through his day.
Pegasus sat with him in a short meditation session in the garden.
The agent napped on a nearby chair when Yami napped in the sun on the balcony, and then woke up with a start when he heard Yami moving around, getting ready for his afternoon massage.
So Yami called a masseuse in for Pegasus too, thinking he converted all his fellow law enforcement friends this way–with a relaxing spa day.
Everyone wanted to treat him like a dangerous animal, and once seeing him behave tamely for hours at a time, they usually changed their tune.
Pegasus melted under the heated sheets while his aching back received almost-painful stabs from fingers digging into his muscles, but the moment he sat back up, it felt like he'd grown wings.
His chest and shoulders had opened up, and the strange tense knot in his left calf miraculously stopped aching and vanished.
Atem was giving him cautionary smiles, almost as if he was trying to...be friends, and Pegasus felt a chill go down his spine as he returned the tentative, check-in glances he received.
The assassin was putting him at ease, acting human, being extremely aware of his fear.
It was disturbing but appreciated.
He was given his standard issue firearm back, but Pegasus left it in plain sight on the counter, and Atem acted like it didn't even exist.
They took lunch together.
He had a salad and a grilled fish while Atem had something similar, except his fish was different and he had a soup.
I'm…enjoying myself, Pegasus thought angrily as he stabbed the silver fork into the tiny fruit bowl that had been brought to him.
He hated to admit it but…Atem might be winning him over in the casual silences they shared.
A TV drama was switched on and Atem settled in to watch it, so Pegasus also settled in to watch it, hating how he was invested in the show, because he had missed a few episodes due to his hectic new work life, and didn't pay for the reruns. But Atem did.
And he found himself asking in the middle of a commercial break, "...what happened last episode? I thought his sister died?"
"She faked her death," Atem replied with a calm smile, reaching for the bowl of fruit that had been brought for them on the artful wooden coffee table. "You missed the most important episode. The old hermit man in the woods was housing her."
"And her leg?! Wasn't it broken?! The old man helped?!" Pegasus cried, to which Atem grinned boyishly and said, "I'd rather you watch it for yourself."
And the remote was picked up, and the re-run was played.
A young boy was walking up the steps and paused at the head of the stairs, gaping at them, and Pegasus nearly choked on the strawberry he was chewing when he recognized…Mokuba Kaiba.
"EW! What the fuck!" Mokuba exclaimed loudly, inching his hand for his phone and wondering if Seto knew Yami had invited the gross interpol officer over for a movie day. What was happening in this house?!
"Watch your mouth, you little brat!" Pegasus seethed, and he received a pillow to the chest that made him sit back down.
Atem had tossed a cushion at him and pointed a finger at the TV, his eyes narrowed, "watch it or you'll miss it again. I'm not going to play it a third time."
Mokuba blinked and watched Pegasus obediently turn his head and stare at the TV with unblinking eyes and a stoic expression, like Yami had possessed him, or trained him somehow. Cool.
Whatever.
"I'm going to Nat's house, because anywhere but here!" Mokuba announced, walking back down the stairs and hearing Yami call after him, "Text Seto about it!"
"KAY!" Mokuba shouted back as he walked right out the front doors to shove his hand into his pocket for his phone.
He sent Seto a quick voice message and then got in the car, sticking his head out the window to shout for Isono, "Can someone bring my backpack?! Thanks!... ISONO?!"
He saw a head of hair rushing past the door.
Satisfied, he leaned back to kick his feet up on the seats.
Seto was about to take his afternoon power nap when he received a notification from Mokuba, so he played it beside his head with his eyes closed, his mood souring because Yami hadn't sent him a sexy photo like he'd requested this morning.
"Hey big bro, I'm guessing you know this already so I'm just gonna complain. I came home from school to see Yami and Old Interpol fart having a movie date on the 3rd floor. Yami gave him a command and the guy just sat back down like a well-trained dog, so, cool I guess. Still hate him though."
Seto's eyes flew open and he sat up so fast, the phone almost slid off the cushion and onto the floor.
WHAT?!
He snatched his phone up and dialed Yami without hesitating, hearing two rings and then Yami's deep voice echoing in the receiver, "...Everything okay?"
Seto's ears hummed and he didn't know where to start. Anger? Or whine about not having received a sexy photo?
The second one.
"I asked for a sexy photo and I've been waiting all damn day!" Seto snarled, wondering if Yami had even been awake enough to hear him. "Fine, maybe you were too asleep to remember, but I still want one."
There was a polite pause and Yami sounded apologetic, "I'm sorry, I'll send you one right now–oh, and Mokuba said he is going to Nat's house. I told him to message you about it, should I have stopped him?"
Seto pinched his brow and sighed, "no. And thanks for telling me. He did not mention that."
Ah, Yami aimed a glance over at Pegasus who was enraptured with the show and decided to ask Seto gently, "how was your day? Are you feeling well enough to hear some news? I received your text from this morning."
"Oh. Fuck that," Seto rolled his eyes and sank back into the cushions, ready to pass out because an exhaustion headache was pounding behind his eyes. "You can tell Pegasus I took 2 hours of my time to look for a fucker named 'Gemini' and didn't find anything. Unless you know something, which I'm betting you do. I'm not worried."
"Correct," Yami replied with a warm nod. "I'm sharing information with him now. He is effective, you know. 18 out of 22 men, that is quite good. Put in a nice word for him."
"No." Seto growled, feeling a surge of anger and the urge to hang up. "Have fun playing with him. I'm sick of his incompetence."
Yami's laughter was pleasant in his ears, and he hung up on that with his cheeks burning.
Goddammit, Yami was so fucking cute.
And of course Pegasus was now sucking up to Yami for information. As long as Yami was fine with it, he was fine with it.
Completely at ease and still annoyed, Seto laid back down and let his breath out steadily.
Nap.
Yami hung up and was slightly shocked that Pegasus was still eating and looking at the TV while asking him, "what did your Kaiba-boy say? I hear you advocating for me. I don't need or want your pity."
"It's praise, not pity," Yami protested as he stood slowly to head into another room. "You are effective and that is a fact. You acted fast on the men from last night, saving me a lot of trouble. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be right back."
"Where are you going?" Pegasus asked suspiciously, setting the bowl of fruit down and getting ready to follow. "I'm not letting you out of my sight."
"Why? I live here," Yami retaliated, wondering why the officer still didn't trust him. "I'll only be a few minutes. This paranoia isn't healthy for you. I said I'd come right back. I thought we had an understanding."
Pegasus narrowed his eyes and aimed his gaze back at the TV.
Whatever. It's not like he would follow the target into the bathroom anyway.
Goodness, he's the hardest one to get along with, Yami told himself as he walked up the steps into the next floor to send Seto the dirty photo.
Waiting until he heard Yami's footsteps disappear, Pegasus slid his phone out and hovered his thumb over his supervisor's name in his call log, contemplating calling to tell him that…he had found Atem.
He had more than enough proof that Atem lived here, with Seto Kaiba.
He could call it in and get them both arrested.
Then…he would be hailed a hero.
…And then…
Then what?
Odion was still at large.
He was the current threat.
Atem had been more than helpful last night.
He didn't have time to think about it further because Atem was walking down the stairs dressed in something different. He was wearing a loose-fitting t-shirt with the KC logo embroidered on the pocket, and Pegasus couldn't stop staring.
"They know, you know?" Pegasus said gravely as he continued to fixate on Yami's arms, staring at the matte black watch on his wrist. "All of your ex-contacts know you're either protecting Kaiba Corporation or are informally retired."
"Formally. If they're speculating, it's formal," Yami said with a firm nod, picking his glass of water back up from the table, intrigued to see that Pegasus had paused the show. "You can keep watching it to the end. I've already seen this."
Gritting his teeth in mild frustration, Pegasus sat up straighter and growled, "stop playing around. Your carefree attitude is disturbing. What's stopping me right now from calling it into headquarters and letting them know you live here?"
"Nothing," Yami raised his eyebrows and shrugged. "It won't benefit you any more than if you worked with me…to keep Seto safe and to find Odion. We know he will pop up to contact us tomorrow. You can relax."
"I can't relax. How can you?" Pegasus cried, feeling like he was talking to a wall.
This man was…certified insane.
"What's to stop him from rounding up more men? He could think about causing mass harm, just to get Seto Kaiba!" Pegasus's voice was rising, but he couldn't help it. "And we're just sitting here…watching TV–is that wine? Put that away!" he barked at Isono who was walking towards them with an ice bucket and a bottle opener.
Yami gave Pegasus an amused smile and nodded.
Fine. Pegasus wanted to work on his day off then?
"Very well, Isono, bring me a laptop instead, one from the basement," Yami said easily as he got up from the couch to move towards a table. "I'll take a look and see if he's doing any of those things. And once you're satisfied with the results, you'llgo home and get some rest, yes?"
Because he had a feeling Seto might be angry if he came home and found that Pegasus was still here.
Pegasus narrowed his eyes.
"I'm staying the night," the man said strongly, and Yami gave him a tight grimace.
"Seto won't like that," Yami said, trying not to smile. "He will drag you out the gates himself and kill you. And I won't stop him."
"Oh, I'd like to see him try," Pegasus growled, itching to fight Seto Kaiba fists-to-fists.
"Okay then I look forward to seeing them hose your blood off the concrete," Yami replied blithely as he let Isono place the laptop down in front of him, alongside a refreshed glass of water. He beckoned for Pegasus to come sit across from him.
Time to begin hunting Odion down online to predict his actions tomorrow.
Pegasus set his jaw and stood slowly to sit at the table across from Atem, staring intently at his blond bangs framing his face, hating every pretty feature on his face.
People who were pretty had a leg up in life. Atem used his good looks for evil.
Seto yanked his tie off as he walked in through the doors, his thighs a bit sore from his workout yesterday.
The day had been stressful. Very little work got done because he was prepping for the dome presentation, and he had spent most of his free time receiving gifts.
Even Anzu and Joey had sent one to his desk.
It was a basket of flowers, the card signed by most of the officers who were going to be working security tomorrow.
His secretary left early, because she needed to get her dress fitted for the event at 4, and there wasn't a point for her to come back to the office after 5 PM.
Weirdly enough, Yami's grandfather sent him a gift too. But then it had been labeled with red tape by his staff as 'dangerous to open', because it tripped the metal detectors when the mailman had brought it in.
Every package had to be carefully opened as a result.
It was a fucking headache, and Seto wanted to have a serious discussion with Yami about this irritating gift.
That demented old man had sent him… a fuckingpen.
And the reason why it tripped the alarms was because it had a glass and metal body that registered as a weapon, looking like it cost several thousand yen, and upon researching the brand, Seto nearly recoiled at the price tag.
That old man was throwing his money around like that, buying useless stationery.
It was a fancy-ass, slick, fat fountain pen, in a glass case, and a cheeky note that said, "for you to sign checks (¥¥¥) to me in the future. Yami's Grandpa–ADDRESS THEM TO SOLOMON or the payments will keep flagging. See you the day after tomorrow as planned. Good luck surviving your phone release."
His secretary had read that note over his shoulder and commented, "...aw… Elders. They're so bold. Who is Yami? A friend of Mokuba's?"
And Seto had replied through gritted teeth, "Yeah. Yep."
He'd tossed that pen into the pocket of his blazer and was eager to rant about it to Yami.
Fucking crazy old man…
He paused at the foot of his grand staircase when he heard laughter, and he blinked steadily, listening…and recognizing the high-pitched voice belonging to…PEGASUS.
Leaving his briefcase right on the ground by the banister, Seto leapt up the stairs and arrived on the third floor with a furious huff, seeing Yami enjoying dinner with the white-haired officer.
The man was wearing one of his KC branded t-shirts after having obviously gone for a swim, because he was wearing dark navy KC branded swim trunks, and on his feet, were fluffy, KC branded slippers.
THE NERVE–
"Get the fuck out of my house!" Seto shouted, and Yami dropped his fork in a brief jolt when he heard Seto shout, and he patted his chest at how his heart thundered.
Oh, damn. He should've made Pegasus leave an hour before 8PM.
Pegasus also jumped in fear and dropped his spoon into his soup with a plop, shakily rising to his feet and trying to remain dignified by patting his mouth with the napkin, but Seto had already stalked over to him and was wrestling him out of the chair while hissing, "fuck you! Ingrate!"
Yami merely sat there while Pegasus struggled weakly in return, sliding ungracefully across the floor while Seto dragged him with surprising force across the shiny floors.
I told him, Yami said with a shrug as he went back to eating.
"Come here–get the fuck…you no good piece of shit!" Seto was so angry, his cheeks were dark red and Pegasus was half-fighting him back while trying to stand but then tripped over his own feet and had to clamp his hand to the waistband of his damp swim shorts to keep them from sliding down.
Pegasus composed himself briefly and lashed out with his fist, which Seto dodged with a jerk of his head and he let out a hiss, grabbing the pale arm that shot past his face while he called for security, "Guards! Alpha C and Gamma D! Come pick up some trash!"
Spluttering in fury, Pegasus staggered to his feet and felt strong hands yank him legs-first down the stairs, his tailbone painfully hitting a few steps as he was tugged down each step, and he couldn't believe what was happening.
The sudden rough treatment was a shock.
He'd been having a peaceful meal with Atem, and that man hadn't moved a finger to help him while Seto Kaiba assaulted him!
Pegasus stumbled out the front doors with his shoes in hand and his briefcase in the other, the guards on either side of his elbows while Kaiba was talking to two other guards behind him, reaching into their blazers to pat them down–probably searching for a weapon to use–and Pegasus's heart leapt into his throat. H-How was this man so evil?!
"Get out!" Seto hissed as he pointed a finger at the gates. "You are not welcome here!"
The guards at his side jostled him and didn't give him time to put on his shoes. Pegasus hopped over the concrete ungracefully, trying to stick his feet in his shoes while Kaiba walked down the marble front steps of his house and hovered threateningly behind him, the sound of a gun cocking making Pegasus freeze on the spot.
Staring at the back of Pegasus's white ponytail, Seto raised the pistol he'd taken from the guard and aimed it at the irritating officer, his eyes burning with hatred, seriously on the brink of hurting this man because he didn't want to see him first thing after work.
Pegasus turned around shakily and found himself staring down the barrel of a silver gun, and the fight left his body.
The real villain wasn't Atem.
It was Seto Kaiba.
Atem was comfortable here because… Seto Kaiba was the one protecting him.
Not the other way around.
"I won't report you," Pegasus said meekly, and he slowly put his foot down to inch into his shoes, trying not to tremble too much with the odd mix of fear and anger he was feeling.
Yami raced down the stairs and hung back by the pillars for cover, calling out to Seto, "...Don't hurt him! He's vital to your safety tomorrow!"
He noticed Seto wielding a gun and his heart leapt.
Aw… Sexy.
And Seto's gun etiquette was quite good.
His finger wasn't anywhere near the trigger, but his other hand was a fist, clenching and unclenching, indicating he was beyond angry.
Carefully walking towards Seto's back, Yami held his hands up defensively, calling out of habit, "...approaching."
Pegasus held his breath, wondering if he was dying today.
And Seto didn't move.
A warm hand rested on his lower back, then trailed up his spine, across his shoulders and then down his outstretched arm where Yami's tanned hand wrapped around his wrist and lowered the gun steadily.
Pegasus watched this all with his heart pounding in his ears, still frozen on the spot with one shoe on. The kinetic one wasn't Atem.
It was definitely Kaiba.
"He was doing his job," Yami said reassuringly, and this had the opposite effect. Seto's hand tightened around the weapon, so he added, "turning us in isn't his goal. He wants to do a good job…tomorrow. Let him go, Seto. We talked. It was enjoyable."
Seto hissed angrily and clicked the safety back onto the pistol and left it in Yami's hands. Then he turned on his heel to stalk back into the house, fist clenched on one side while his other hand was tugging off his tie.
Whatever.
Fuck today.
It started with Pegasus and ended with Pegasus.
He was fed up.
Yami's sexy photo from earlier barely made up for it.
Yami hooked the gun by the trigger guard in his index finger to avoid touching it, then he swiveled it over to the nearest guard who accepted it with both hands and tucked it away in his belt.
Pegasus watched that interaction with wide, fascinated eyes.
Saved, again.
The pattern was emerging.
He was always in a tense situation, and then Atem would buffer it. Amazing.
Maybe he really was wrong about this assassin after all.
"Isono!" Yami called over his shoulder and heard the telltale patter of footsteps come up behind him. "Wrap his food up and we'll send him on his way. I'll also need my phone. Thank you."
The manservant bowed and walked back into the house to fetch the items, secretly thinking to himself that Yami rounded out the young master well. Whenever Seto had a violent outburst as a young child, it took hours of coaxing down.
Here, Yami had calmed Seto in 3 minutes.
Slowly standing on his trembling knees, Pegasus felt like raw meat inside while his stomach churned with nausea. He was relieved and terrified at the same time.
An odd contrast of emotions.
He felt like he'd just dodged death.
"When I say it's time to go home, I really mean it," Yami said sternly as Isono came walking back out with the boxed food. "Do you believe me now?"
Pegasus nodded absentmindedly and accepted the food with shaking hands.
He couldn't stop shaking.
"Do you have a personal phone?" Yami asked as he tapped on his own device, lighting up the screen. "One that is not work-connected or related. One that doesn't enter the building you work in. One that you check often but still use?"
"Yes," Pegasus replied through numb lips, and Yami waved his own phone cheerfully in the growing darkness around them.
"Number please," Yami said calmly. "Ready when you are. I will meet you at a secure location tomorrow so we can arrive together at the dome. I take it you will still be in uniform to confront Odion at the dome checkpoint? I will want the locations of other officers. I will not communicate with you through the dark devices. Is that clear?"
Yes, yes, Pegasus nodded and nodded again, palming his brow and feeling the edges of his fingertips come away with cold sweat. He was calming down but his body was still shocked.
And the way Atem was talking sounded like he was being given an assignment.
Or commands.
Whatever.
Anything to get off the Kaiba property without a bleeding wound.
Pegasus let his breath out in a tense sigh and agreed. He quickly recited his number and watched Atem's cheekbones glow with the blue light of his phone as he typed it in.
He was burning with a question and desperately wanted to ask…
"What are you doing, working this job?" Pegasus began, hating how he felt more comfortable asking Atem than Kaiba himself. "Is it for the amenities? The security? I can try to understand."
Kaiba was a horrible, cruel boss. He wouldn't want to work under Seto Kaiba.
He didn't know why anyone would willingly, unless it was for the money.
And Atem was known for demanding high price tags.
Kaiba must have bought Atem out permanently.
Kept him on retainer.
Yami blinked and stared into Pegasus's face. What?
"Odion is not my job. He is yours, let's make that clear," Yami said with a cold nod, his angular eyes narrowed prettily at his phone screen. "Saved. Expect my call. Don't abuse the two-way connection or I will cut it off."
Pegasus hesitated, and then barreled on with his offer, "I can protect you. I won't tell anyone where you are or what you do."
"I know," Yami said with a bright smile, his teeth flashing white in the semi-darkness. He was ready to go to bed with Seto.
What was this man getting at, and still not leaving?
At this rate, Seto might bust out a long-range gun and shoot him from the window…
"I'm suggesting my amenities," Pegasus said confidently, hoping his status was enough to sway Atem. "And my protection, which goes above…his." He nodded at the glowing windows in the balconies above their heads.
What?! Yami thought deliriously as he bit back a smile. Something was being misunderstood here…
"Say it clearly, I'm trying to understand," Yami said lightly, folding his arms across his chest. "You think I'm not safe here?"
"I think you'd be better off with someone less rotten," Pegasus scoffed, tossing a stray strand of hair away from the side of his face with a single finger. "Your cover would be more solid with an officer of the law, not a borderline criminal with billions."
"You're risking your integrity to…give me a roof over my head?" Yami clarified, his eyebrows raising. "That's what I'm hearing. You think I'm hiding out here, because Seto Kaiba is my last option? But a good one, because he has money…?"
"Correct," Pegasus replied, and Yami stared at him, trying not to burst out laughing.
There was a tense silence where even the guards and Isono held their breath, eavesdropping and stunned.
"You like me that much?" Yami asked gleefully as his eyes glowed in the lights coming from the fountain beside them. "I'm not an easy pet to keep, Pegasus. Your offer is not higher than what you think is happening here with Seto Kaiba. Yes, you are an officer of the law. No, I don't need you as my cover to stay in the country, thank you."
Pegasus grit his teeth and tried one last time. "If it's money you want, the agency I work with can pay you 8 times, 10 times what he's paying you. You're a valuable asset, Atem. Please see that."
Ah yes, that's what I am! Yami crowed as he finally let out a laugh that echoed up and down the spacious driveway.
"He doesn't dare give me money," Yami replied with a cheerful smirk. "I receive something way more valuable from Seto Kaiba. Be on your way now, Pegasus. I'll see you tomorr–"
"What is it then? Unlimited weapons? Your pick of…trafficked…victims?!" Pegasus was grasping at straws now, his panic apparent. "Cars? Explosives? …Property?! …Tell me! I can provide it! And more!"
Yami turned to give the guards over his shoulders a lazy nod and they stepped forward, ready to grab Pegasus by the arms so they could escort him past the gates.
Isono stayed by the fountain, shaking his head and needing to cover his mouth with a hand to hide a smile.
Defeated, Pegasus let the guards surround him and walk him to the car parked beyond the dark gates, and Yami followed with a pep in his step.
Sinking into the driver's seat, Pegasus set the boxed food down in the footwell of the passenger's side and straightened up to see Atem leaning playfully against his rearview mirror, making his heart skip a frantic beat. W-What?!
"It's sex." Yami said gleefully, seeing Pegasus's eyes widen with shock, and then narrow just as fast.
"Not a problem," Pegasus replied evenly without skipping a beat, and he watched Atem let out another deep laugh.
"You?! You are offering?!" Yami grinned while exuding an evil aura as he leaned against the door of Pegasus's car. "All because you want my intel?"
"Your experience, your vigilance, your intel, yes," Pegasus answered as he gripped the wheel so hard, his knuckles turned white. "I understand you've had enough money and are seeking other thrills. I prefer men as my partners, and I can do it with you easily."
His cheeks burned at the admission but he held his ground.
The day he'd spent with Atem had been oddly refreshing.
Yami's eyes widened and he leaned away from Pegasus's window, pointing at the camera attached to the box by the gate.
"We have you on camera saying that," Yami said casually as he took another step back. "The next time you see Seto Kaiba, I suggest you run, not walk. And possibly run in a zigzag pattern to avoid being shot in the spine. Good day, Pegasus."
He walked back through the gated entrance and waved over his shoulder, seeing headlights flash and then an engine starting. The car backed up slowly and disappeared down the road, and Yami chuckled to himself.
That was Pegasus, handled.
He couldn't wait to tell Seto.
Heading back inside, he passed Isono and the four guards, giving them thankful nods and then walking up the grand staircase, pushing the door aside to enter his bedroom to find Seto lounging on the bed with the pillow tucked under his chin and the tablet under his nose.
"Hey," Yami said as he eased onto the bed and rolled playfully on top of Seto's back, hearing him let out an oof! And remain unmoving.
The page on his tablet was news about a mobile game.
"Hey. Took you long enough to kick him out," Seto muttered, his voice muffled by the pillows.
"Well, making him leave was like scraping globs of honey off my shoe," Yami said with a pretty grin as he dipped down to press a kiss to Seto's high cheekbone, his heart soaring. "He said something to me that will make you gag. Ready?"
"No. I don't want to talk about work," Seto groaned, enjoying Yami's weight on top of him. "Fine, tell me."
Warm arms came down around his shoulders to give him a playful squeeze while Yami's breath tickled his ear, his voice sending a cold shiver down his spine as he whispered, "he said…I could do it with you easily. I prefer men as my partners"
Seto tensed so much, Yami suddenly felt like he was laying on a slab of stone.
"You're joking," Seto said poisonously, with half the mind to get up and find Pegasus so he could really shoot him in the stomach and watch him bleed.
"He wasn't!" Yami sang as he rolled over onto his side and let out a laugh as Seto tackled him down and gave him a rough bite on his chin.
The feeling tickled and cold hands shoved up his shirt to give his nipples torturous twists, and Yami doubled over, gasping and laughing as Seto furiously tickled him.
"I'm going to fucking kill him! How could he say that to you while knowing there are cameras all over this place?!" Seto ranted, and Yami struggled to breathe as he held one hand up and mimicked weighing something in his palms, his angular eyes gleaming with mirth.
"Imagine his balls," Yami choked back a laugh as Seto's handsome face hovered over him. "I have them. Right here." And he gave his fingers a playful wiggle.
Seto's hand came slapping down into his, lacing their hands together while pressing his arm back down against the mattress, and they shared a sweet, lingering kiss.
Yami melted happily into the taste of Seto's breath and enjoyed the way something hard kept poking him in his upper thigh.
Seto bared his teeth and nipped at Yami's ear again, hissing, "well if I had known, I would've hit on him earlier to make him shut up."
"Too late. He's obsessed with me," Yami replied playfully, giving the top of Seto's hair a loving ruffle. "Add him to your stalker list."
Seto let out a low growl and buried his nose into the crook of Yami's ear, flicking his tongue in and out of the hole to tickle Yami further and earning strangled laughs. His heart fluttered with joy and closed his eyes to inhale Yami's scent deep into his lungs.
Honestly, it was fine.
Further proof that he was a man who was always enviable.
Pegasus could stay jealous.
Because Yami was his at the start of his every day and at the end of his every day.
