Chapter 43: Christmas
On Earth it was the Christmas season.
By now the mamono have been on Earth for over a year, but for all this would be their first Christmas. Due to the fact that when they first arrived they had no idea what Christmas was, so it took a bit to learn of the holiday. But when they did they fell in love with most aspects.
So it was at this time, in the nations that celebrated Christmas, that a new force of holiday cheer emerged. Mamono, the young and the "old", the small and the tall, went about to spread their excitement.
Elves and dark elves, in keeping up with the stories, created gifts they would donate out to the humans and mamono of the towns and cities in which they lived. Some of these gifts were more, adult oriented, than others. Regardless, these gifts of charity were welcomed all over and helped further the relationship between mamono and human.
Across the world, the Church of the Fallen Faith opened soup kitchens and shelters. Not only to assist the less fortunate, but also to snag a couple of loving husbands, in which many nuns found themselves lucky.
Harpys gathered in flocks to sing Christmas carols, creating mini concerts to the delight of many. Unicorns and white horns gave sleigh rides, dryads allowed others to sparkle up and decorate their trees, yuki-onnas and ice queens create winter wonderlands to ensure wherever they live will have a white Christmas.
Families across the land settled in for a wonderful time of giving and joy. On a small farm in Missouri Marc and his four month pregnant wife, Molly, settled down to watch some Christmas movies.
In Vancouver, Mindy and Amelia competed with each other to prepare the best Christmas dinner. It nearly came to blows at one point! Thankfully Samuel was able to de-escalate the situation by saying that if they kept fighting Santa wouldn't come! They calmed down quickly, they didn't want to miss their first Christmas after all!
In Colorado Samantha and Robby told their daughter, Tammy, the stories of Christmas. Santa, Rudolph, Frosty and the Grinch and others delighted the small child. On Christmas Eve Tammy personally laid out some cookies and milk for the big man himself.
The White House is known for its extravagant displays around the holidays, this year it's no different. Tall and highly decorated trees lined the halls and overall a nice sense of holiday cheer permeated the building. Alesia had been invited to a "state" dinner with the president, by the end of the night they were walking the premises of the White House. Treading over the snow, seemingly holding hands.
Back in Senshire the expeditionary forces tried their best to celebrate the holidays. Lots of Charlie Brown trees were placed out and small gifts were exchanged. This was a bit confusing for the Orderites but some did get onto the action themselves.
So as the celebrations for this holiday commence, it's not just humans this year celebrating, but mamono as well. Looking forward to another year of joy, love and happiness.
Merry Christmas
