Prequel to 'A lost love returns' this gives the back story to Rose's decision to return to Alec Hardy when she leaves him because he won't get himself fixed. It follows how Rose Tyler and Alec fell in love when he almost knocks her brother over and the events leading up to her moving in with him to the riverside chalet in Broadchurch. Does not go into the murder investigation.

Alec Hardy thinks he's the luckiest man in the world.

It's a beautiful fall day and Rose wants to pick apples. Alec has other things in mind.

Alec Hardy is out of the Broadchurch police and on teaching duty at the academy in Exeter, pending heart surgery. Rose Tyler has been sent there by her stepfather, him wanting a police presence within Torchwood and Rose has to work her way up. Sparks fly when she's put in Alec's class, Rose always disrupting him but she learns about his illness and they become more than friends.

Rose Tyler has been left on Bad Wolf Bay – again, this time with the Doctor's clone and she's not happy and neither is he but she agrees to give him a chance and instead of going back to London, they go off to live in Glasgow and get a flat together. The only thing is, neither of them know how to get romantic with each other until the human Doctor re-invents himself as Alec Hardy.

Alec Hardy leaves Broadchurch to report to New Scotland Yard but gets lost after a mistake with his hotel booking. Rose Tyler is on her way home from Torchwood and finds him studying the underground map and he asks her for directions to another hotel. She takes pity on him and takes him back to her flat and he ends up staying, rather reluctantly after they argue and he leaves her.

Based loosely on 'The Decoy Bride', Rose Tyler is about to get married to a famous Scottish actor who is currently on location over in Las Vegas for his latest film. They haven't found a wedding location so Rose goes on holiday to the small town of Broadchurch and meets her fiancé's double and to avoid the press, uses poor Alec Hardy as a decoy to throw them off the scent.

Just a crack fic that popped into my head. What if the people of Broadchurch discovered Doctor Who? What do they make of certain familiar faces on the screen?

Alec Hardy was married to Rose Tyler, they had both been detectives together and lived with their daughter Grace until Rose had enough of him working non-stop and left, taking the girl with her and Alec was only allowed to see her every other weekend. Then Rose is due a promotion but her ex husband beats her to it when he is unaware she is working in Broadchurch.

She's seen him with scruff, she's seen him with flat, fluffy hair. She's seen him gruff and snarky, disapproving and challenging, even. Rose Tyler's seen the Doctor with many different looks, but not this one. Never this one. Because this is not the Doctor. Emmett is trying to master his accent, get his beard right and dye his hair, then his leading lady arrives – famous actress Rose Tyler and the two men fight over her.

AU - DS Rose Tyler (who never met The Doctor) has been promised a promotion on return from her 2 weeks holiday to save her marriage to Mickey Smith, only to find a grumpy Alec Hardy, new to Broadchurch beat her to it. Despite their initial hate for each other, they begin an affair when she suspects her husband is responsible for a local boy's death and thinks he's the one cheating.

Based on 'Death in Paradise' - Alec Hardy is out of the Broadchurch Police until he gets himself fixed but a reprieve comes in the form of a transfer to a tiny Caribbean island called Saint Marie. So Alec accepts and meets a certain Mickey Smith on the plane who is going over to see Rose Tyler for her birthday and falls in love with her then he is accused of killing a love rival.

Rose never makes it over to her original universe. After Torchwood shuts down the Dimension Cannon, strange disappearances start to occur in the small town of Broadchurch. Rose volunteers on the case in hopes of getting away from the memories of the Doctor, but is in for a big surprise.

Rose Tyler (who never met the Doctor) and Alec Hardy moved to Broadchurch with their 3 yr old daughter Kelly after he was offered a promotion when Kelly was a baby. They lived happily until one day after Kelly started nursery school, Alec gets caught up in the disappearance of his own daughter when someone from Rose's past kidnaps her. Lots of O/C's involved inc. Jackie and Claire.

One day, the absolutely impossible happens and the TARDIS lands in Rose and Alec Hardy's back garden. Takes place after And They Lived Happily Ever After and Lullabye.

AU - Just after Joe's arrest, Ellie Miller finds herself relying too much on her grumpy ex boss Alec Hardy and decides if he asks her, to start seeing him socially but he moves out of Broadchurch to a small village up the coast and rents a flat close to the sea and discovers his new neighbour – shop manager Rose Tyler (who never met The Doctor), much to Ellie's dismay.

A wedding story, Rose and Alec style. Takes place between chapter 17 and the epilogue of "A Change is As Good As A Rest".

Alec Hardy thought he was going to be alone this year in Broadchurch for Christmas. His DS had moved to Weymouth and he had just recovered from a life saving heart op. He thought of trying to find his daughter until Rose Tyler walked into his life when her brother wanted a tour of the Police Station. A heart-warming story for Christmas where Alec finds love and a family at last.

Six months after Danny Latimer's death, Alec Hardy had been trying to cope with life after the investigation and the loss of his love – Rose Tyler when she leaves him behind in Broadchurch to go back home when she can't bear the fact he won't do anything about getting his operation. The trial is over and as he is packing to leave his chalet he finds her on his doorstep.

Rose Tyler comes back from another dimension jump to an empty Torchwood Tower. Everything and everyone is gone and she barely gets out. She goes to what had been her home to find the original Jackie still alive and Pete has never met her but he takes pity on her and gives her some money. She sees Alec Hardy on TV and thinks he's the Doctor and makes her way to Broadchurch.

During the trial, Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller return to Broadchurch to find the fair has set up. Reluctantly, Alec stops to let Fred go on a ride and then tries to win him a prize on the darts where fairground girl Rose Tyler thinks the two are a couple. Alec soon corrects her and they quickly fall in love much to Ellie's and Tess's dismay. Note: This NOT a DW story!

It was 2013 on Pete's world. Rose Tyler had gone to Broadchurch for a short holiday and fallen in love with Alec Hardy. Pete establishes a local branch of Torchwood for her to help Alec with the Danny Latimer case but just as it is coming to an end, Rose and Alec have to cross over to Rose's original world to help the Doctor and his companions stop the stars going out.

Rose and Alec discuss songs for the first dance at their wedding. Takes place between A Change is As Good As A Rest and Lullabye.
