Note: This is an AU where the Heartfillia clan is royalty, and Fairy Tail are their personal guards. Yes, this is not an original idea, but I wanted to do my own spin on it. Warning for OOC characters (mainly Natsu, Zeref, Mavis).
In the country of Fiore, there have always been royal leaders, and for hundreds of years, it's been the noble Heartfillias. Starting with Anna Heartfillia, and going all the way down to the current rulers, Jude and Layla Heartfillia. The king and queen had a daughter, Lucy. Unfortunately, a decade into Lucy's life, Layla would pass away, leaving just Jude and Lucy.
This is where our story begins, just Lucy and Jude. Jude wanted his daughter to marry, specifically, an heir to the Alvarez Empire of Alakitasia. Lucy always told her dad she wanted life on her own, but Jude would not let his only heir throw her life away as a common person.
So that's where Lucy was, pinned between the Alvarez Empire wishing to marry, and her father pressuring her to be the heir his country wanted.
Lucy sat in her room, in one of the palace's many towers. She looked out the window, and down at the town. Her family lived in Magnolia, a town by the water, and with access to trains. Her eyes drifted to the barracks and tavern near the south side of the castle. An odd shaped insignia was on the barracks. She smiled, admiring Fairy Tail, her father's personal guard group. The soldiers who worked and lived there were so strong. She had her personal guard, a one Gray Fullbuster, he was outside her room, waiting for her command.
Lucy swung her legs off her bed, and stood, pacing around her room. Today was the day her father was going to force her to meet her suitor, one Natsu Dragneel, prince of the Alvarez Empire. She had heard mean things about him, how soldiers referred to the prince as The Salamander, The Serpent, Firedrake, and a whole list of terrifying names. The prince was a warlord, under the rule of his brother, King Zeref, otherwise known as Spriggan. She had heard tales of the crazy prince, destroying whatever he cared to destroy, thanks to his ancient magic.
As Lucy paced, there was a knock on her door. She heard the voice of Gray, telling her that her maid would be coming in to help dress her and pretty her up. Lucy dejectedly thanked her guard, and began searching through her closet. This isn't what she wanted. She had no clue who she wanted, but it wasn't going to be the Dragneel prince. Soon enough, her maid walked into her room, and began drawing a bath for Lucy.
Once ready, Lucy dipped her delicate body into the water, and chit chatted with the maid. Lucy spoke softly, finding herself dreading the meeting later. After the bath finished, Lucy got dressed in a dark blue gown, with gold trim and gold dots littering the dress. The maid finished Lucy's hair and makeup, commenting on how beautiful the young princess was, and how she looked just like her mother. Lucy chuckled dryly, and was escorted down to the main hall.
"Lucy, your suitor will be here any moment. I demand only the best of you today. We need you to marry him. It will strengthen our country." King Jude motioned for Lucy to sit, before crossing his arms. Lucy sat next to her father, and watched the door, subconsciously holding her breath. Soon enough, the doors opened. Lucy was expecting to see this hotshot warlord at first, but all she saw was the commander of the Fairy Tail Company. The scarlet hair flowed, despite being a lack of wind, the armor gleamed in the light of the palace.
"My lord, Prince Natsu is here." The beautiful warrior stepped out of the way, and in came The Salamander, his pink hair all ruffled. He wore maroon clothes, and approached Lucy. However, Lucy's focus had not left the wonderful knight, Erza Scarlet. Her attention was pulled when Natsu grabbed her hand, and planted a kiss on it.
"You are more beautiful than the paintings, my queen." Natsu referred to her as queen, causing Lucy to feel sickened. "Now, why don't we go meet in a more secluded spot?"
Note: I intend to update this story at least weekly. Might do more than one in a week, who knows.
