"Do you hate me?" Zelda asked Revali as they sat on Hyrule Castle's dungeon floor, leaning back against the wall.

Revali blinked, vertical pupils dilating in his bright green eyes. They glowed through the darkness.

Zelda began to cry, wiping her eyes in her dirty hands, bright white, strapless dress equally as dirty. Revali didn't know what to say. He was very likely going to die, and she chooses to ask him that question?

She wept, and wept, and wept. Revali didn't even have the strength to get annoyed. Their enemies had killed Daruk, very likely killed Mipha, and Revali was sure Ganondorf wouldn't had let Urbosa live. The only one who probably wasn't dead was Link, Spirit of the Hero, Champion of Hyrule.

The one true savior.

Why was Zelda crying? She was going to be saved by him.

While he, Revali, would die.

By Ganondorf.

Zelda crawled towards Revali and hugged him, arms wrapped tight around his feathery body. Revali stiffened, dark blue feathers ruffling as his crest rose.

"I love you, Revali, did you know that?" Zelda said, tears and snot soaking his neck.

Revali cried. He hugged Zelda back, his own tears soaking into her blonde hair.

The dungeon door slammed open. Heavy, metallic footsteps thudded towards them.

"NO!" Zelda screamed. "NO! Take me! Kill me!"

Ganondorf laughed. He pulled open the door of their jail cell with a horrible screeching clang

"PLEASE, HAVE MERCY!" Zelda held onto Revali as the King of Evil stepped inside.

"HAVE MERCY!"

Ganondorf grabbed Revali by the scruff of his neck and pulled him out of the jail cell. Zelda hung on, clinging to him, body dragging along the damp, cold, slimy dungeon floor.

"You want to see his death, so be it." Ganondorf unsheathed his gargantuan, ax-like sword from his back, raising it high in the darkness of Hyrule's most tortured depths.

"NO, PLEASE, OH, REVALI, I LOVE YOU!"

"ZELDA!" Revali screamed as he threw himself on her to shield her from the blow.

Ganondorf swung the sword down cutting Revali in half, only strips of skin, armor, and matted feathers holding him together. Blood exploded into the darkness like a fountain.

"NOOOOOO!" Zelda teared at her hair, pale face and white dress soaked crimson as a metallic smell filled the air.
