New Beginnings
Humphrey lays quietly in the dimly lit train cart he could feel the cool wind on his fur as the train softly rumbled on down the tracks staring out at the view, he could see trees with red and green leaves with small lakes and a stunning sunset in the far distance it was a beautiful red orange color.
Humphrey decided it was time to get up and make a move as he was now in Idaho, he could see the sign that says welcome to Sawtooth National Park. Humphrey let out a loud groan as he stood up , he is not tired from physical exhaustion but from being emotionally drained he still loved Kate that's why he had to leave he couldn't bear to see her marry a wolf she don't even know, he felt like he was used and thrown away he gave her his heart and she destroyed it, the empty feeling he has now is difficult to comprehend for himself he wants to return and fight for her but he knows it's a fruitless endeavor.
Snapped out of his broken thoughts by the train horn going off, he decided it was time to jump off. Humphrey scanned the ground along the train looking for a good spot to land, it did not take long for him to find a spot to land it was a small clearing area with some thick green grass surrounded by trees some small shrubs some brown from wilting and others very colorful it looked like a soft-landing spot.
As the train approached the spot, Humphrey walked to the edge of the cart and got ready to jump. The train was not going fast, maybe 10 miles an hour, but still fast enough. If he doesn't land right, he could end up with a broken paw, or even worse. Now I'm passing the spot, Humphrey took a deep breath and jumped While in the air He tried to twist his body to make sure he would land on all fours properly. Merely seconds later, he hit the ground and tumbled a few feet. It was extremely painful, but he had to try to ignore it as it was nighttime now, he could barely see and needed to find a place to sleep for the night.
Humphrey was walking along a dim path trying not to trip over the roots of trees and other small things spread about amongst the forest floor, About 10 minutes of walking he came across a tree that was laid over possibly from rotting or a lightning strike , is had a small hole where the roots used to be in the ground that are no in the air a few feet it was a easy shelter for the night he couldn't see good enough to get any more details on the nature made den, so without wasting anymore time Humphrey walked in to the small root den , it was now too dark to see anything but he could smell something but what is it.
Laying at the back away from the exposed entrance Humphrey was still wondering what that familiar smell was when it hit him like a train…... It was Kate, he could smell her this must have been the same spot they slept at on their way home from being captured. It hurt Humphreys heart greatly to smell her sent it made his heart ache with sadness, loneliness, and despair as he knew he would never see her again and he must move on, while laying there he felt his stomach growl like an angry bear the reality setting in he knows he's just an omega and doesn't know how so survive on his own without a pack.
He spent most of his life alone form losing his parents, but now he truly has nothing, no love, no pack, no friends. He was all alone now, and it was a scarry feeling for the first time in a long time he cried himself to sleep hoping for a better tomorrow.
