A/N: I don't own anything you recognize
Must have looked at him a thousand times, never really noticing, never really thinking. So many reasons to keep her distance, so many secrets swirling beneath the surface. She knew she should have stayed away, just another day of not using her best judgment. Another day like any of the months that had already passed her by since she'd crash landed here, since this new time had become her home.
That day, sitting beneath the Whomping Willow, she turned to see him hanging upside down, hair covering his face. A simple gesture, one she wasn't even aware she was making, reaching up and brushing the hair from his face, from his deep grey eyes. THe moment froze, her hand on his cheek, her eyes meeting his. She knew his fate, his future, knew she shouldn't, maybe couldn't, change it, but in that moment, her heart threw away every rational thought. She found herself falling hard, fast, in love with a man she knew wasn't supposed to survive the war.
