Continuation from "Arkobolos: Guild of Slayers." Chapter 5.
Chapter 2: Rampage! The Rock Dragon
July 1–7, X791, around the time the Grand Magic games ended:
Somewhere in fiore, in the nighttime:
Setasuke(Age 17) and Hiouis(Age 6) are wondering around in the wasteland after having finished a job, along with their guild mates, Rin(Age 18), Geras(Age 18), Alvin(Age 13), and Ryan(Age 6).
"Another solid job bites the dust." Geras says and marks off.
"As expected, you quickly froze up those bandits and sent them packing like fodders." Hiouis grins and flies next to his ice slayer partner.
"Ever since the last job involving bandits, it's been boring and too easy." Setasuke replies, hands in pockets as his scarf breezes through the wind.
"Or you're just too strong, Setasuke-san." Alvin said.
"Granted. He is one of the strongest in our guild so jobs like these are nothing to him, even though it's high rank." Rin said.
"Next time, we'll just take a job that's at a higher level than this..." Ryan mutters.
{Several minutes later after the Eclipse project is set/released by Future rogue takes place. He mind-controls all the dragons having emerged from the gate into going on a rampage throughout fiore.}
Setasuke stops walking and catches something, "!"
What's sup, Setasuke?" Hiouis asks and notices him stopping.
"I sense something big coming out way..." He replies and sense it coming even closer.
"I can feel it too..." Rin trails.
"Same..." Geras trails as well.
"Uh-huh..." Alvin utters.
"What exactly is it?" Ryan asks.
"It's here!" Setasuke goes in a stance as something crashes right in front of the 4 slayers and 2 exceeds, sending shockwaves out.
"What is that?!" Hiouis exclaims, covering from the gust of wind.
"This magic..." Setasuke traisl and can feel it.
"It must be..." Geras trails.
"No, that can't be..." Rin utters.
Out of the smoke, An Earth dragon appears and sprouts it's wings in front of the group, letting out a roar.
"A Dragon?!" Alvin, Hiouis, and Ryan exclaim in shock.
"And so suddenly, where did this dragon come from..." Geras mutters.
"Beats me..." Rin replies, "I can feel multiple scents all over the place that have the same smell as this dragon."
"So do I." Setasuke nods, preparing his magic.
The dragon looks down on the group and suddenly smashes his paw down towards them.
"Dodge!" The ice slayer exclaims as they move out of the way, landing on open space separately.
"And why the hell is this giant buffoon suddenly attacking us?" Hiouis questions as he floats with his wings.
"Beats me!" Ryan exclaims in shock.
"Look at it's eyes." Setasuke notices and they look to see the dragon's two eyes red.
"Red, huh." Geras gets it.
"But why is that?" Rin narrows a brow.
"My only hunch is that somebody is controlling this thing from the shadows and is causing it too rampage." Setasuke guesses.
"You might be on to something, Setasuke-san." Alvin is surprised a bit.
"Yes, that was a good theory." Ryan agrees.
"And the only one to stand by." Rin adds.
"So what do we do about this dragon?" Geras asks.
"We take him out." Setasuke gets to the point.
"Oh yeah, and dragon slayer magic is the only thing to harm this beast." Hiouis recalls, "You guys got this in the bag for sure."
"Consider it the first official dragon battle, aside from all those practice battles I had with Icigoneal." Sueong's hands cool up with ice magic.
"Same goes with me and Stardast!" Alvin gets ready with his star DS magic.
"Ryan and Hiouis, you stand back." Rin orders.
"Roger" "Okay." The two exceeds fly off a good distance away.
The dragon fires a blast from his mouth towards the 4 slayers, "Ice Dragon's... Wall!" An ice wall comes up from the ground and blocks the incoming blast, shattering half of the wall, "This will be tougher than I thought since half of the ice wall is gone."
"My turn then." Geras attacks, "Sand Dragon's: Shower Barrage!" Sand floats on the sides on him and launches like mussels toward the Rock dragon, damaging the dragon.
"Star Dragon's: Laser Beam!" Alvin puts his hands together and fires a big ray of light and lands his attack, "Direct hit!"
"Now mine." Rin prepares hers, "Silver Dragon's: Holy Spears!" She fires off spear projectiles in her extended hands, hitting the dragon with all of them directly.
"Ice Dragon's: Spiral Wave!" A wave of spiraling Ice shards makes there way up and inflict massive damage on the Rock Dragon, who roars in pain from all of these connected attacks, but refuses to give in and fires a dragon roar in retaliation.
"Dodge!" Setasuke warns before they jump far out of the roars range, which creates a crater in the process.
"This dragon is a relentless tank box. Our attacks didn't work!" Alvin exclaims, covering from the gust.
"We'll need to use more power to damage this thing." Rin said.
"Indeed." Geras nods.
"Yes. It's time to step it up a notch and slay this thing." Setasuke stands up as they're ready for another round.
The Earth dragon then fires off multiple earth cubes at the slayers, causing them to run around and dodge.
"It's cubes this time!" Alvin runs.
"Earth cubes, huh? Ba..." Setasuke dodges them one-by-one before jumping towards it, "Ice Dragon's... Cold Fang!" He forms a huge spear and throws it at the dragon's face
In addition, "Sand Dragon's: Desert Spear!" Geras creates one himself and connects it to the dragon's neck, which does some damage, but the dragon still isn't done, even after that combined attack.
The dragon then creates an earth spear of it's own, "He's doing a spear too!" Alvin exclaims.
The earth spear makes it's way towards them, "Silver Dragons: Heavenly Fist!" She lungs in trying to counter the spear with her silver coated right fist, however, the spear attack is stronger and proceeds to make her plummet towards the ground.
"Rin!" Geras exclaims out.
"Crusade Armor!" Her whole body is cover in armor as she hits the ground and by the time she comes out of the smoke, "Huh... that was close." She gets up, her skin returning to normal, but still took damage from that spear as her gut bleeds a little.
"Glad to see you're alright." Alvin sighs, before setting his sights on the dragon, "You'll pay for doing that to my friend, you know!" He jumps straight at the dragon's, "Star Dragon's: Holy Fist!" The boy connects his attack to the dragon's head, however, the dragon shakes him off easily and makes Alvin plummet and crash to the ground just like Rin.
"Alvin!" Ryan exclaims in shock.
"Ugh... I'm fine..." Alvin stumbles and shakes after getting up, "I charged recklessly that time."
The dragon isn't done and coats his fist into a stone fist and flies his way at Setasuke and Geras next, roaring.
"Here he comes!" The sand slayer waits for him to get closer. By the time the dragon swings his fist down, they both jump right on time, land on his arm and starts running atop him, "Ice Dragon's..." "Sand Dragon's..." They cover their fist in their respective elements before jumping atop the dragon's head, "Diamond Fist!" "Desert Fist!" He brings it hard down on the dragon, striking a good blow.
The dragon does roar in pain for a little, "Now for another!" Setasuke goes for another attack, but the dragon starts shaking his head, trying to get them both off off.
"What sup? How is that dragon taking all of their attacks?" Hiouis doesn't get it, still watching from a distance.
"I know right? Their attacks should of had some type effect at least..." Ryan agrees.
"This thing trying to shake us off, but it's not happening!" Setasuke hangs on as the dragon keeps shaking it's head, "Time to cool you down even more." He quickly does another attack, "Ice Dragon's...Freezing Claw!" His hands become ice claws and he strikes the dragon down at the head again, doing even more damage to the dragon as it roars and keeps shaking it's head.
"Damn, of all the-" Geras scoffs as they're finally thrown off, "Tsk, he shook us off this time."
The dragon sets it's sight on Geras first and rains down rock cubes on him, forcing him to block and take massive damage at the same time, "GUH!"
"Geras!" The rest exclaim as he hits the pavement too.
"Ugh..." The sand slayer stumbles, now battle damaged just like the other two.
"Damn..." Setasuke looks back at the Rock dragon, "It's just me and you now." He does an Ice-Make bird, hops on it and meets the Rock/Earth dragon in the air.
"Whoa...!" Alvin widens in amazement.
"It's a sky battle now!" Hiouis exclaims in surprise.
"Ice Dragon's... Roar!" Setasuke fires and the dragon counters with a large Boulder brought up to him from the ground, before retaliating and flings it, which the Ice bird dodges, "Tch, that large Boulder blocked my roar... find then." He then forms an Ice-make Canon and fires multiple canon shots and blasts, which hits the dragon, cause some damage but of course it isn't finish, "I'm gonna have to get in closer for some more impact. Severing a wing will hurt a lot for sure and it'll stop it from no ring around so much." He then starts getting in closer on his ice bird with that said. The Stone bullets form and Fire at setasuke, which the ice bird spins and dodges most of them, but gets struck a little on the wing, shatter some off butt it's still hanging on, "All right." Now that he's close enough and above the dragon, He launches himself off his Ice bird and aims atthe it's head, "Ice Dragon's... Sword Horn!" He gathers Ice magic around him, encasing himself in ice and at high speed, hitting it with a powerful head-butt on top it's head, causing the dragon to roar in aggravation. " That's not all!" He then jumps off it and back on his ice bird before calling another attack, "Ice Dragon's...Frost Sword!" He forms a long extended Ice sword and stabs the dragon on the left wing and severed the whole thing off.
"ROOOAAAGH!" The Earth dragon roars in pain and plummets towards the ground and crashes.
"He did it!" Alvin exclaims in amazement.
"Great work!" Rin congratulates the ice slayer.
"We finally took this thing down." Geras sighs.
"Yeah!" Hiouis and Ryan cheer as Setasuke's success, "Not so tough now is he." The former grins.
"Now you can't move around in the air anymore... earth dragon." , Setasuke pants, but suddenly, out of the smoke a Boulder crashes into the Ice bird and shatters it, making setasuke fall to the ground as well, but he lands fine.
"Setasuke!" His guildmates exclaim.
"He still has the strength to keep going?!" Geras exclaims.
"Damn it...!" The ice slayer gets annoyed.
The Dragon is now angry and roars stone bullets at setasuke, which he counters by forming an Ice wall. The wall does a good job at first, but the starts slowly breaking, "Damn, it's suddenly gotten stronger!" The ice slayer is forced to back away as the stone bullets destroy his wall. The dragon doesn't stop and then smashes his fist to the ground and stone pillars start launching towards sueong, which he jumps and dodges a lot of them.
"This time the dragon's on the offensive... Ryan observes.
"Setasuke..." Hiouis mutters.
The dragon then gathers huge amounts of magic power in it's feet and then breaks the ground around it with a stomp, causing countless shards of rocks to fly upwards.
"What's it doing?" Rin wonders and doesn't get it.
The dragon then raises it's claw and the rock shards stop. He then points right at sueong and the rock shards start raining down towards setasuke.
"That's way too many stones to dodge." Setasuke looks up in shock before doing, "Ice Dragon's Wall!" He punches his fist on the ground and up comes the Ice wall, but the Rock bullets got through, "Damn! Those stones bust through it with ease this time!" He's shocked before backing away from his destroy ice wall and goes on to dodge most of them, but, "GAH!" He gets struck by one in the leg and as he dodges the next one, "UGH!" he gets struck in the shoulder next, "Damn it! What speed... I can't keep up...!"
"Oh no!" Hiouis observes and sees his partner getting thrashed.
"Setasuke!" Ryan exclaims in fright.
"We need to get in there and help, now!" Geras tells Alvin and Rin.
"Right!""Okay!" They both nod completely and try to join the fight again.
The rocks keep coming and Setasuke is getting wounded/injured from all sides, the legs, arms, back, and shoulder.
"*Pant*Pant*Pant*Pant." Setasuke is blooded from all the rock shard/bullet attacks and is breathing heavily.
"Setasuke, hang in there!" Hiouis cheers, but also worried.
"Help is on the way!" Ryan exclaims.
The ice slayer slowly gets another attack ready, "Ice Dragon's..." He was about to call out a move until suddenly, a pierce noise is heard, "GHA!" Sueong coughs some blood as a sharp stone pillar comes from beneath him and stabs him through the almost center of his stomach.
"SETASUKE!" Everyone shouts in shock, sweating and frantic too.
"Gah...!" Setasuke spits out blood and slowly falls forward, "This... can't be the end..." He slowly closes his eyes.
{Elsewhere, Ultear performs the taboo spell: Last Ages. Rewinding time by one minute, saving some who have been critically attacked throughout fiore and it gets in sueong's range as well}
One minute rewind:
"Setasuke, hang in there!" Hiouis cheers, but also worried, "Huh? I said this again?" The cat doesn't get it.
"Help is in the way!" Ryan shouts, but also notices, "I already said that?"
Setasuke was gonna prepare another attack but then finds something strange, "Hold on a minute, I did this already."
He looks beneath him and jumps out of the way of the incoming sharp stone pillar.
"Close." Setasuke regains his footing, "Something's wrong... it's like I saw myself getting impaled by that stone pillar just now."
"It's like I saw a glimpse of the future where Setasuke was stabbed." Hiouis noticed and also thought he saw as well.
"Me too... It's like it was just an imagination." Ryan nods.
"What just happened?" Rin utters.
"It's like we saw into the future of what would happen..." Geras trails.
"I know... we knew what would happen before it happened." Alvin said.
The dragon roars, catches their attentions.
"Guess we'll have to worry about that later." Setasuke faces the earth dragon again, and this time, his guildmates joining him, "Whatever that was, it gave me time to see what this dragon was going to do to me." He then gets into a fresh stance, "We're finishing this now, guys!"
"YEAH!" Rin, Geras, and Alvin agree completely.
This is when each of their aura begin to glow, preparing their final attacks:
"Ice Dragon's Secret Art: Ice Beam Blizzard!" He puts both of his fists together and fires a huge blast, in form of a large beam.
"Sacred Metal: Longinus Execution!" She gathers huge amounts of magic power in her hand and creates a big spear before firing it, splitting it into numerous spears.
"Sand Slayer Secret Art: SandStorm!" He fires a destructive roar in the form of a humongous tornado.
"Star Dragon's Secret Art: Holy Nova!" He forms a gigantic Star sphere that's very bright over his head, and throws it at first speed.
All four attacks hit the dragon-dead on, in the chest.
"ROOOOAAARGH!" It roars in pain and finally, it falls and crashes to the ground, finally defeated. .
After finishing their final attack, "*Pant*Pant*Pant*" They all pant in exhaustion after the fight, "That should do it." Setasuke stares at the unconscious earth dragon,
"And stay down..." Alvin adds as they all fall back.
"Guys!" Hiouis comes running over and hugs his way into the ice slayer's chest while Ryan does the same to Alvin.
"Ouch! Calm down, will ya." Setasuke groans.
"For a moment there I thought you all were a goner." Hiouis says, "It's like I saw a glimpse of the future where you got stabbed." He gazed up at Setasuke.
"You saw it too, huh?" Setasuke asks and the cat nods,
"Hmm, that was strange as it came out of nowhere... but whatever it was, it saved you from letting that happen." Geras voices.
"Yeah, that's true." Rin agrees.
A yellow light then glows around the defeated earth dragon.
"Huh? What's that yellow light?" Ryan doesn't get it.
"Strange..." Setasuke trail.
The earth dragon then floats, still in yellow light and vanishes away.
"It's gone..." Hiouis mutters.
"It's one thing after another. First it looked like it was kind controlled and now it's vanished?" Geras calls back.
"Well, even if it didn't shatter, we still won the fight, which is all that matters, though it was tough." Rin said.
"..." Setasuke is silent for a bit and replies, "I guess so." He then stands up and turns the other way, "Let's go back to the city."
"Aye, I'm definitely gonna be resting up a lot." Alvin agrees.
"Same here... along with a nice hot bath." Rin agrees, holding her stomach would a little as they walk away from the damaged area.
{Unbeknownst to them, A young girl watches them from above the sky, apparently a ghost, who is Mavis}
"Incredible..." Mavis looked in surprise at what she witnessed, "It's like they're the only dragon slayers who took down a dragon." She then has a sad expression, "While the other ones with dragon slaying magic couldn't." She comments vanishing in a ghost fashion.
Setasuke's Appearance:
•A lean muscular young man with White spiky hair, white eyebrows, light skin, and black eyes. Black Guild mark located on his right shoulder. He wears an open black sleeveless jacket with white lining/wave patterns, wrist-warmers, open-toed shoes and dark grey pants with a black cloth from stomach to knees with a secure blue belt, as well as his black scarf he got from icigoneal.
Hiouis's Appearance:
•Exceed with a small white body with red and yellow markings on its ears, feet, and neck. Has a black nose, as well as a yellow band shape across its nose, looking like a bandage. Also has a white tail and red-like eyes. He wears a red scout uniform that is comprised of a shirt and shorts, complete with a red scarf on his neck. Guild mark in the back under his shirt.
Alvin's appearance:
A short boy with light-black skin and messed up spiky hair that's yellow. He wears a silver jacket with a black color, with the same color pants that has black lines going down from waist to angles, along with white/black pattern shoes. Yellow colored guild mark on his arm under his left sleeve.
Ryan's appearance:
An exceed with yellow and orange markings as it's fur. A black nose, orange eyes, and white color tail-end. Wears a striped blue/green shirt with black shorts. Green colored mark in the back of his fur.
Rin's appearance:
Has Long Jet Black hair that reaches down to her knees, Silver Eyes, Tan Skin, also has Dragon on her arms, back, chest, and neck, and a Big Bust. Wears a Silver Skin tight leotard with a Black Sleeveless Skintight Shirt over it, Black Leggings wearing black pants over the leggings, wearing Black 2-inch heels boots, a Black jacket with a hood that also has a silver dragon pattern on the jacket as well, last also wears dragon eye necklace that's jade. White colored guild mark located on her right shoulder.
Geras appearance:
Has dark skin with no hair on his head, along with a toned physique. Guild Mark on the left side of his chest. Wears a black body suit with an open neck, t-shirt-like sleeves, and full length leggings, as well as having a grey cloth over his left shoulder to his right waist-side, along with a leather band from right shoulder to hips.
There you have it guys. The appearances of Setasuke, Hiouis, Geras, Rin, Alvin, and Rin.
First Dragon battle and a win for the Arkobolos team.
