Family woman part 4

Santana wakes up from a beam of light hitting her face and illuminating the room. She turns her head, and the clock reads 7:24. She turns again to touch the other side of the bed but her hand touch nothing and it's cold.

With a gasp she stands up afraid. "No!" Please, don't tell me it was the end. But then, the sound of a baby crying from the next room is heard. Santana lets out a sigh of relief before realizing that she doesn't know what to do with that. She doesn't move for a moment, hoping it'll stop. But it doesn't.

Hearing the shower running in the bathroom, Santana walks to it and smile when she hears music blasting from it and Quinn singing loudly 'I was made for loving you' by Kiss, which makes Santana chuckles.

The brunette knocks on it. "Quinn?" But no response. "Quinn!" She yells louder over the music.

"-made for loving me!"

Santana smiles and thinking that she won't ever hear her, she opens the door and is that close to make a cardiac arrest. She sees the blonde, her naked body moving to the beat of the song inside the shower. Quinn turns around and when she sees Santana, she turns down the music.

Santana raises her eyebrows and smirks. God, how she missed this body.

Quinn smirked; glad she could still provoke this reaction to her wife. "Yes?"

The brunette coughs and stopped leering at her for just a moment. "Yeah. Umm- the baby's crying."

The blonde looks at her unimpressed. "And…?"

Santana looks up again from her naked body and realize that she will have to take care of the baby alone. Quinn continues before she has the time to say anything. "Don't look at me like that baby. Today's your day and you know it. Love you." And then she turns the music back on and continues her shower.

The Latina stands there for a few minutes, still gazing at her wife when she is surprised by a big wail. "Fuck! Yes the baby!"

She goes inside the room of her last kid, takes him and put him on the changing table. When Aiden sees his mother, he instantly calmed down and begin babbling, happily laying on his back and playing with a set of plastic keys. It's at that moment that Alex comes into the room and looks at her mother who is just standing there, looking at the baby with a perplexed expression on her face.

She looks around her and spots the diaper. So, she takes one out of the bag and begin reading the instructions, while her daughter is still looking at her like she is an alien.

"First, you pull the tape." Santana reads. "First I pull the tape." Repeats Santana while gingerly doing it. She does that again and the diaper open, revealing what's inside and unleashing an horrible smell.

"OH MY FUCKING GOD." Yells Santana, gagging and shocked. "How can such a little thing create a monstrosity like that?!" She holds the diaper away from her and frantically searches around for a bin.

Alex, understanding what she wants, points to a Diaper Genie by the dresser. Santana throws the diaper in and then quickly replaces the lid. She then looks back at Alex so she can indicate what she has to do next. The little girl, with a weird look on her face then points to the container of baby wipes.

Santana turns to it with a disgusted look on her face. "Ew."

She continues to tend to the baby until he is all clean and he has a fresh diaper on, but when she turns around, she sees Alex looking intensely at her. "You are not really my Mami right?" Santana instantly freezes at that. Oh god. This can't be happening. She looks at what she would so much hope to be her daughter in her real life and not just in this dream.

She contemplates on what to do next, while she still has these big eyes looking back at her with complete earnestness. She can't lie to her. But at the same time, what is the truth? That she met a weird guy in a bar while she was getting drunk because she lost the life she wanted with the love of her life. And now, she woke up with this life in question. She can't even decipher anymore her real life from the dream.

"I-I would like to be. I think in a way I am, but not really the one you know." Wow. Cool Santana, that's clearer now. When she sees Alex with a look of curiosity, she knows she has to explain differently. "I think in another life, I work in London, in a big building. With a doorman. And I never met you, but another me, the one I wish I was, is you real mother." Alex nods, still suspicious. "This isn't my real life… I think. Just a glimpse." She really drunk too much that night.

Alex still looks intensely at her. "Where is my real Mami then?"

Santana shrugs. "I don't really know, to be honest." A concerned look on Alex's face, Santana's petrified that she's about to cry. "B-but she loves you very much and I'm sure that she will be back in absolutely no time."

Alex approaches the brunette, climbing up on the little chair and tugging firmly at her hair. "They did a very good job."

Santana perplexed. "Who did?"

The little girl, still touching all around her face. "The Martians. You look just like her." She nods.

"Oh. Um, yeah. I guess. Thanks." Alex's now stone face, trying to decide what she feels about this other mommy. "You're not going to cry, are you? I don't want you to cry. That would break my heart."

The little girl pauses, thinking for a moment. "Do you like kids?"

"I like you and your brothers very much, yes."

"And you know how to make chocolate milk."

"I think this is something I can do."

"And you promise not to kidnap me and my brothers or to do weird things in Mommy's brain?"

Santana chuckles at that and wonders what kind of movies she showed to her kids. "I promise."

She waist a bit and then a big smile appears on her little face. "Welcome to earth then." She nods, gets down from the chair and goes in her brother's room to wake him up.

At the end of the day, everybody is sleeping, but Santana can't. They spent such a good day. Laughing, playing, talking. Santana can't imagine her life without everything, without that anymore. She always wondered what would've happen if she never left Quinn. But now that she knows, she wonders if knowing was worth it. She is gonna come back to her lonely life, regretting even more.

She goes over the bar and pours herself a scotch, taking a sip, letting the alcohol warm her. And walks around the house. As she strolls through the room, looking at some of the family photos framed and hanging on the wall, focusing on her own face in the pictures, studying the expressions.

She continues until she sees a big shelf with many photobooks and CDs marked with titles. She runs her fingers along so many, like, 'Gender reaveal', 'Alex and Adrian first birthday'. 'Adrian learning velo', 'Aiden first laugh'. She smiles wistfully and stops at one marked 'Wedding anniversary'. Her eyes linger there for a moment until she puts down her glass and take to CD to put it in the TV.

Instantly, she sees her face up close, seeming like holding the camera. "Is it recording?" She hears herself say.

In the background you can hear Quinn say: "If you see the red light, it means yes."

Herself on the screen looks on her left then say. "Yes! Hi guys, we are currently in our party, for my wife and I wedding anniversary! So, excepting right?" Then she turns the camera and film the whole party with their friends and family waving at the camera, with cheesy "Happy birthday" decorations.

Then she is her mother speak. "Jesus, Santanita, this thing is older than you are. Does it even have a stabilization?"

She heard herself chuckling. "It's one of Quinn's favorite cameras. And besides-" She turns again the camera to herself. "Stabilization is for the weak." She winks.

Santana, in the couch, then smiles when she sees Quinn coming into the frame, putting an arm around her wife. "Hey baby." She grins, kissing Santana's cheek.

"Hey! So, anything to say for the prosperity of this video?" She turns the camera a bit more to Quinn.

With a twinkle in her eye, Quinn looks at her directly in the eyes. "Everything I have to say will be said in my speech late."

Santana looks shocked. "Wait what? You have a speech?" With a wink Quinn leaves her. "Should've I had one prepared?" She yells back after her.

Santana winces for herself. The video goes on and on until comes the moment of this infamous speech. The camera shows Quinn, in the middle of every guest in their garden looking directly in the eyes of her wife. Santana doesn't know who is holding the camera, catching the reactions of the crowd, the women with smiles on their faces, wrapped up in the romance of the moment, and envy on jenny's face because apparently, she's here, and to be honest, Santana doesn't care.

The blonde coughs a few times before beginning to talk. "The first time I met you, I was too young to know what a soulmate was. But when I looked at you, I knew deep down that it was you." She seems a bit embarrassed before she continued. "You made me realize and learn so many things about myself - first of all that I was attracted to women." A few chuckles and Santana smiles. "My perception of life changed, and my dreams did too. I still wanted to experience, and live fully, but now I wanted to do it with you. We went through college together, and then had shitty jobs in shitty appartement but I was so happy to do it because it was with you. Then, my moment got sick. And you were my rock. You helped me so much. But you got the call. The one that would take you away from me to London." She paused and took a breath. Santana on and off the screen has tears in her eyes.

"You couldn't say no to that opportunity, and I wanted to follow you so much, but we didn't have enough money to do so. You asked if I wanted you to stay but I couldn't ask you that. So we both got to the airport and you promised me that you would come back. But if I'm being honest, I thought that it would be the last time that I would see you and that you would never come back." At that, while the Santana on the screen smiled, the one off let out a sob and the tears began to flow.

Quinn smiles gracefully and continues. "But you came back. And I was ashamed of myself for not being able to trust you enough to hold your promise. I should have known. It was so hard at first but the promotion you got after London here helped us so much. And then I got a promotion and my mom began to get better and it was the light at the end of the tunnel."

She chuckled. "Then you proposed. And it was so perfect. Too perfect. Too close to my forever proposal dream that I should've know that you rummaged throw my old room in Ohio to find my secret diaries. And we got married. After a bit, we begin talking about babies and you told me gracefully that you wanted to be the one to carry because you were too hot to get fat." Everybody laughs at that because it was such a Santana thing to say. "And we got our babies, and you gave me the life I forever dreamt. So, with these last few words, Santana, I love you more than anything, and this life of and will never be long enough to show you how grateful I am for you and for our life." She raised her glass along with everyone in the crowd and Santana walked fast to Quinn to kiss her vigorously and with so much love, under the applauds of the guests.

After the long kiss, the Santana on the screen whispered against her lips what she thinks is "I love you so much". And she turned around, with tears in her eyes. "Wow. I am fucked for life after hearing the level of this speech." A few chuckles. "Mine will be much shorter because I didn't have anything planned and I will say to her everything I have to say in bed tonight. Alone." She joked, looked intensely at a few people while Quinn blushed. On the background of the video, you could see Jenny walking away. Then, the Latina turned to her blonde.

"Quinn, you talked about fearing that I would never come back. But how could I not come back when the better part of me was waiting for me, miles away in another country. I couldn't imagine my life without you, but I know it would be so horrible compared to what we have now, together. You made me the mother of my dreams when myself I didn't even know I had the potential. You are the best thing that ever happened to me, and I will spend the rest of my life showing it to you. I love and adore you." And the video stopped on Quinn and Santana, in each other's arms, kissing each other longingly in their own little world, under the hoots and hollers of the crowd.

Needless to say, that at the end of the video, Santana was a reck on the couch. The parts about her not coming back hurting so bad. This whole experience was so messed up. She looked lost, tears falling again and again, and she couldn't stop them.

She sat there, silent, not knowing what to do and then she heard something. "Hey." A whisper. She looked up to see the blonde looking at her with a worried face. "I've never seen you cry so much in front of this video. What's happening? Are you okay?" She took Santana's face in her hands.

The Latina just shook her head and buried her face in the middle section of the blonde while she caressed her hair. "I just love you so much." 'And I'm so sorry and regret so many things' were left unsaid because she wouldn't understand.

Quinn smiled and made Santana look at her. She looked at her with so much adoration that the blonde breath got stuck into her throat and she whispered against her wife's lips. "I love you so much too." And they spent the rest of the night cuddling on the couch, with Santana on top of her blonde, her head in her neck, grasping on her like her life was depending on it.

Because it did.
