With the door shut Kaleigh watched through the window as he took out a cellphone and started to talk on it. She leaned her head back onto the seat letting the tears slowly roll off the side of her face. She stared up the the roof of the car for a moment before shaking her head. More tears seemed to fall as she took a shaky breath in.
"Why? WHY!" Kaleigh screamed in her head as she slammed her feet against the seat. Then a flash of light came out of her pocket and formed into the black and blue friend she made.
"Lu?" Riolu tilted his head to the side looking at Kaleigh tied up. Glancing from Riolu to the man outside the car on the phone.
"Riolu c-can you please untie my hands?" Kaleigh whispered as her eyes never left the man's back as she slowly sat up and scooted over to the middle of the back seat, a few tears fell down her face. Riolu nodded his head and got to work.
"Stay low and quiet," Kaleigh whispered quickly as the man opened the driver's door and got in.
"Let's go." The man grunted out, starting up the car before driving off. Kaleigh slowly felt the ropes loosen bit by bit. She glanced out the side window while her head
"I'm getting a pretty penny for you, care to explain why?" Questioned the man. Kaleigh stayed silent for only a moment before she replied. "Not really…" At that moment she felt her hands were free and quickly reached over to the door and pulled on the handle. As she pulled the handle she pushed on the door with her other hand, but nothing happened. The door wouldn't open.
Hearing the movement the man looked behind quickly before back at the road, doing a double take realizing Kaleigh was free.
"Hey-how! Get over here!" The man shouted while reaching a hand aimlessly to the back seat. Still trying to drive, Kaleigh pulled her legs up onto the seat away from his hand.
"Riolu!" Kaleigh called to which the Pokemon responded by attacking the man with bite. "ARHHHH!" Cried the man slamming on the brakes making both Kaleigh and Riolu hit the back of the passenger seat. She rubbed her nose lightly with her right hand before trying to break the window with her feet. Watching the first two kicks fail Riolu then jumped onto the seat, forcing Kaleigh to stop.
"RIOLU MOVE!" Kaleigh yelled, but Riolu turned to the window. It raised both of his paws up in a battle stance. By this point, the man tried to turn his body around to grab Kaleigh but was caught by his seatbelt. (Safety first!) All flustered by the setbacks the man struggled to rip off his seatbelt.
Riolu's paws started to glow as he bent low to the seat before launching himself at the door and rapidly punching the door off the car. Jumping out quickly Riolu turned to Kaleigh and waved a paw at her.
"Lu, lu! Riolu!" Kaleigh quick to dodge the income hand leaped out and ran down the road into the city with Riolu following. The man opened his door and stepped out of the car. He was the two run and pulled out a pokeball releasing the Pokemon from inside it.
"Go. Get. Her."
Kaleigh panted heavily as she ran, Riolu being faster had already ran passed her and leading the way to what she was hoping was a hiding spot. The two turned down an alley and ran down only to find it a dead end.
"Riolu let's turn back!" Kaleigh called turning around only to see a silhouette of a Pokemon at the entrance of the alleyway. It was clear to see that the Pokemon had some wings as it was slightly off the ground. It had two long arms that came down to a point and its legs went from thin to thick turning into feet.
"Lu, lu Riolu! Ri Ri Riolu!"
Riolu dashed in front of Kaleigh with his arms held out. Kaleigh took a step back her chest raising and falling at a rapid pace. Soon she saw the man come around the corner.
"I was told you didn't have any Pokemon on you. My bad for believing the info I got. No matter I'm sure your Pokemon is no match to mine." The man smirked turning his head to his Pokemon before back to Kaleigh and Riolu.
"Air slash." He commanded. The Pokemon drew back its arms bending back slightly it then brought its arms down across its body sending blades of air toward Riolu and Kaleigh.
"Riolu watch out!" Kaleigh panicked. Riolu quick to Kaleigh's warning jumped out of the way. Kaleigh moved her arms in front of her head as the blade caught her, slicing the skin and sending her back off her feet.
"Ri!"
Riolu called out to Kaleigh and ran over to her. He used his paws to gently push on her shoulder making her groan slightly. "O-ow"
"Scy!" The two heard before Riolu vanished and was pinned against the wall by a Scyther.
"Ri-Riolu!" Kaleigh called trying to push herself up from the ground. Though a heavy boot pushed her back down.
"Arug!" Kaleigh moaned. "Scyther, get rid of it…"
"NO!" Kaleigh tried to wiggle out from under the man's boot, she tried to get her right leg under her body to get up but the weight made it impossible. "LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Riolu struggled against the Scyther's blades, but was tossed into the air. Kaleigh cried out as she watched Riolu be attacked with fury cutter.
Riolu unable to defend himself from the barrage of attacks crashed to the ground. Tears built up in Kaleigh's eyes, her mouth opened, wanting to call out, wanting to help him, but nothing came out.
"Good work Scyther. Now let's make sure you don't have any other Pokemon." The man leaned down and felt around Kaleigh's waist for any pokeballs, but found nothing.
The man laughed at the child, grabbing her left leg he gripped it tight. "I do believe I gave you a warning of what might happen if you acted out again. And I always keep my word."
Kaleigh slowly turned her head to look at the man. He laughed again at her.
"The look of fear in your eyes is entertaining I could just keep going, but I have places to be." The man started to twist her leg causing her to scream out in pain. "STOP! PL-PLEASE AHHH STOP!"
A light shined on them from the entrance freezing the man in place.
"Freeze! Hand's where I can see them!" A female voice shouted. "Shit." Mumbled the man. "Scyther use wing attack!" Scyther, quick to obey flew forward, its wings glowed white.
"Flamethrower Growlith!" A little Pokemon jumped in and opened its mouth wide releasing fire at the bug Pokemon. Scyther fell to the ground unconscious and the female held a gun up at the man while moving towards them.
"Let the kid go!" Called the woman as the Growlith got ready to obey any command given. The man growled and let go of Kaleigh's leg before moving his foot off of her with his hand up.
The women sent a policeman to cuff the kidnapper, while she moved over to Kaleigh and helped her into a sitting position.
"Kid, are you okay? Do you need medical attention? I'm Officer Jenny, I'm here to help." Kaleigh took a few quick shaky breaths in slowly shaking her head no as tears kept falling. "R-Riolu, Riolu's hurt!" She struggled out.
Officer Jenny stood up and looked around with her flashlight. She found the baby Pokemon lying off to the side unconscious. "Let's get it to the Pokemon Center." Officer Jenny quickly picked up the Pokemon as Kaleigh stumbled to her feet, tears uncontrollably falling from her eyes.
Kaleigh followed Officer Jenny to her car and got in before being handed the injured Pokemon. Holding it close Kaleigh cried into it.
"I'm so sorry…" Kaleigh whimpered softly. "Don't worry the Pokemon Center isn't far!"
Screeching to a stop Officer Jenny and Kaleigh got out of the car and ran into the building.
"Nurse Joy! Hurry we have an injured Pokemon!" Officer Jenny shouted.
Nurse Joy rushed in with her Chancey and gasped at the sight. "Chancey, prepare the medical room!" She then reached to take Riolu, but Kaleigh took a step back.
"Please, I only want to help it." Nurse Joy stated. Kaleigh looked down at Riolu sniffling before slowly handing him over.
Officer Jenny placed a hand on Kaleigh's shoulder, who flinched away and turned to look up at the policewoman. Kaleigh's eyes wide from the shock, softened and she looked back over at the door Riolu was taken.
"You're bleeding?" Officer Jenny commented once she saw the bit of blood that had ran from the cut on her arm. "I-I'm fine…" Kaleigh murmured.
Officer Jenny shook her head and walked over to the counter where she retrieved a first aid kit from down below. She then went back to Kaleigh and gestured for the child to sit. "Let me bandage it up."
Kaleigh bit her bottom lip lightly, taking a moment to determine if she really needed the help. Officer Jenny gave a gentle smile as she pulled a couple of chairs and sat down on one first.
"It's okay, tonight must have been a tough one for you. We'll wait together to see how your Pokemon is and then you can stay with me. Get washed up, have something to eat, and get some rest."
Kaleigh looked down at her arm, then at Officer Jenny. She was pretty hungry even the small mention of food caused her stomach to growl in anticipation. Officer Jenny blinked her eyes at the sound before letting out a soft laugh. She looked around the room and got up from her chair.
"Here pick something to snack on for now." Officer Jenny suggested as she walked over to a vending machine. Kaleigh's eyes followed the cop before seeing the machine and slowly followed herself. She looked at the different snacks and slowly lifted her hand to point to an item. Officer Jenny followed the little girl's hand and pulled out some change. Feeding the change into the machine Officer Jenny pushed two buttons and Kaleigh watched as it fell from the rack.
"Here you go!" Officer Jenny exclaimed as she reached her hand in and pulled out the candy bar, holding it out for Kaleigh to take. Kaleigh reached her hand toward Officer Jenny's but pulled her hand back shaking a bit.
"It's okay, it's all yours." Officer Jenny reassured Kaleigh. "B-but I ah didn't d-do anything to um er-earn i-it…" Officer Jenny frowned slightly. Kaleigh's voice was small and quiet as if to not be heard. Officer Jenny wanted to hug Kaleigh, but decided against it as she wasn't sure how the girl would react to the gesture.
"Then how about you let me clean up your arm and you can have it? Deal?" Officer Jenny offered, turning back to the two chairs and sat down in one. Kaleigh watched silently before she took a step over to the chairs. Sitting in the chair Kaleigh held out her right arm to the officer, agreeing to the terms. Officer Jenny was careful to move slowly and explained what she was going to do before doing it so she didn't scare Kaleigh.
Once the wound was cleaned and wrapped up Kaleigh looked at the bandage before the candy bar that was beside the cop. Following Kaleigh's line of sight Officer Jenny sid the item closer to the girl. "You've earned it."
Kaleigh happily took the candy and opened the wrapper pulling it off before taking the first bite. The chocolate was the first thing that she tasted, the sweet flavour surprised her tastebuds, and she closed her eyes as she enjoyed the treat.
Officer Jenny smiled watching the child for a second before packing up the first aid kit and putting it back. While Officer Jenny was putting away the kit Kaleigh was about halfway through the candy bar before she felt a tingling in her right arm. She stared at the bandage with wide eyes, her brow pulled in as she quickly moved her hand and fingers.
"Did I do it too tight?" Kaleigh heard the voice and looked up at Officer Jenny. She quickly shook her head as the tingling faded away.
Kaleigh then took another bit of her candy bar as Officer Jenny let out a small breath and sat down in the chair. The two waited quietly for a while Officer Jenny glanced down at her watch for the time as Kaleigh had closed her eyes not too long after finishing her candy. The exhaustion had overwhelmed her to fall asleep fast.
