Kaito look at Conan who seems to be remembering the heist clearly which he just let out a small smile to the high schooler

"For me, it is a very interesting and life-changing experience, either with the heist and the hijack. It was the first time I had to do things without Niichan's help but the most thing that is very interesting is that when I felled out from the airship" said Conan
"Eh?"
"When that man throw me out from the airship and I fall from the sky, the first thing that I realize that… Oh I'm dying"

Conan let out a sad smile which surprised Kaito on how his look change when he told him about the story. It was as if, he had enough in near death situations

"Tantei-kun…" thought Kaito surprised
"But then, it took my surprise that Kid was there to catch me. I really owe him a lot by saving me back there. If he wasn't in that airship, I will not be here talking with you after all. That time also changed my perspective about him" said Conan smile
"What do you mean?" asked Kaito
"That time, we only fight with each other for few times so I only know him as a thief who only focus on getting his target but also a magician who likes to trick people. But the fact he's willing to saved my life and help me fight back… It makes me respect him as a person"

Kaito can't help to blush as Conan just said that he respect him. As the thief that he talk about, he can't help to feel glad to have Conan as his rival. With that, Conan jumps from his chair and about to go outside the library

"I think that's enough talking since I want to cook for dinner, are you staying? Might as well help me then" said Conan
"Alright! I will gladly help you. Don't worry, I can guarantee that my cooking skill are enough as the one who lived alone" said Kaito smiling

Conan just gives a small smile as he walks out from the library.

Time Skip~

"You were here the whole time?!" shout Shinichi shock

Shinichi just arrived home after solving a case and much to his surprised that he was greeted not by his usual little brother but instead by Kaito

"I already tried calling you but you didn't answer so I assumed you were busy reading. Turns out you were in a case" said Kaito sigh
"Oi oi, visiting without prior information is also wrong! Not to mention, you were alone with Conan!" said Shinichi in low voice so Conan didn't hear them
"You worry too much, he didn't notice or know about me okay, we were just talking to each other and I help make dinner"
"Seriously… So, what's for dinner?"
"Hamburger steak!"

Few moments later

"Ahh I knew it, Conan-kun's cooking is indeed the best" said Kaito happily
"Hahahaha thank you for the compliment" said Conan laugh
"But I thought Aoko-chan made you food all the time?" asked Shinichi curious
"She did but trust me, between her and Conan-kun, I prefer his cooking more. One time, she made a hamburger steak that crumble just by the moment I want to eat it" said Kaito sigh
"Not everybody is born good at cooking after all. Conan just happened to good at it because he has more free time than us high schoolers"
"Now that you mention it, mostly grade schoolers go home early and there's no club for 1st to 3rd grader"
"That's right"
"In other words…"

"Being a grade schooler is a very good thing" said both of them together

Conan seems to be attack by both high schoolers and can't help to feel intimidated by them. He sighs as he smiles to them, but his smile seems to let out some dark aura surrounding his body

"If you guys bully me like this, I swear the next time I cook, I will make both of your stomach hurt so bad" said Conan smiling evilly

Both of the high schoolers got intimidated by the grade schooler and apologize quickly. Conan sighs as he continues to eat until he remembers something

"Oh yeah, Kaito-niisan, next week Aoko-neechan want to visit here" said Conan
"Eh really? I don't know about it" said Kaito surprised
"Did she want to learn baking again?" asked Shinichi
"Yeah, she wants to learn how to make a sponge cake, but she didn't have the utensils that she needs, so she's coming here instead"
"It seems it would be a lively dinner then. Since both Kuroba and Aoko-chan always fight"
"Oi oi…" said Kaito unhappy
"But Aoko-neechan said that she will try not to go over dinner since she had to greet Nakamori-keibu home" said Conan remember his talk with Aoko on the phone
"If that's the problem, let me handle it. Let Aoko-chan have dinner here with all of us" said Shinichi smile
"What about me?" asked Kaito as he's pointing at himself
"You are not welcome"
"Evil!"

Time Skip~

Conan is reading a book in the living room while TV is showing news about Shinichi solving another murder case. Moments later, someone knock on the door which he quickly looked through the window which to be Haibara with Aoko and Kaito, so he quickly runs to open the door

"Welcome Aoko-neechan and Kaito-niisan and… Haibara? What are you doing here?" asked Conan surprised
"Pardon the intrusion!" said both Aoko and Kaito as they come in
"Shinichi-san told me that you are giving baking lessons to Aoko-san, I'm sure I can learn a thing or two as well, right? Also, he invites me and Professor Agasa to have dinner here" said Haibara smirking
"Oi oi, just to confirm, you are better baker than I am" said Conan sigh
"But not as good as Yukiko-san who's your teacher"
"Oi…"

Few hours later

"I see, to make low calorie cookies, you can use these kinds of chocolates" said Aoko as she looks through the chocolate wrapping paper
"Yes, that way if Aoko-san want to make low calorie for Nakamori-keibu, this is a good one" said Haibara
"I see, I will write this down"

Haibara and Aoko are still near the oven as Haibara told Aoko on what ingredients to use while Conan and Kaito just sit by the table eating the cookies that are done

"Still, I'm surprised that she know more about baking than you" said Kaito to Conan as he eats the cookies
"Haibara is a better baker than I am and she always made low calorie food for Professor Agasa" said Conan as he sits down drinking some milk beside Kaito
"I see, well Aoko also want to know more about it for her father too"
"Don't worry Conan-kun, you already help me a lot by giving me a lesson how to make crêpe cake and chocolate cake" said Aoko happily
"But you need to buy the utensils to make it at home Aoko-neechan" said Conan as he looks to the oven
"Yeah… I'm still saving some money to buy it, so in the meantime, I will visit you often Conan-kun"
"You are always welcome here, Aoko-neechan"
"How about me?" asked Kaito
"You are not"
"Evil!"

Aoko and Haibara just giggle by the two interaction until suddenly Conan's phone rings which he seems surprise by the caller

"Hakuba?" said Conan loudly which get Aoko and Kaito attention
"Eh? Hakuba-kun?" asked Aoko
"What is that detective doing" thought Kaito

Conan quickly takes the phone call which indeed Hakuba on the other line

"Hello?" asked Conan to the phone
"Yoo Edogawa Conan-kun. Are you at home now?" asked Hakuba through the phone
"Yes… I'm with Aoko-neechan and Kaito-niisan in my home"
"Eh Aoko-san and Kuroba-kun are there?"
"Yeah, is there something wrong?"
"Perfect, can I come to your house right now?"
"Eh right now?!"
"Don't worry, I will not take much of your time. I have something for you to see"
"Alright…"

The boy quickly closes the phone and seems confused by the sudden visit from Hakuba and goes near the fridge. Three pair of eyes are looking at him for explanation which made the boy sigh

"Hakuba said that he wanted to visit here, he said he has something for me to see" said Conan
"That's surprising" said Aoko surprises
"But that a shame we can't visit him, we should get home in few minutes" said Kaito
"Eh? Conan-kun, you didn't tell Kaito?"
"Eh?"
"I think Shinichi-niichan already mention it week ago when Kaito-niisan is visiting but if he wants to go home alone then I'm fine with it" said Conan as let out some steaks
"Someone please explain…"
"Aoko will be having dinner here. Kudou-kun should be talking to my father right now in the police headquarters about it to see that if he joins us here or not" said Aoko as she helps Conan taking some vegetables
"EH?!"

At the other place

Inspector Nakamori is doing his work until suddenly one of his subordinates comes into the room

"Nakamori-keibu, Kudou-kun wants to meet you" said the subordinates
"Kudou-kun? That's rare for you to come here" said Inspector Nakamori as he stands up

The police officer goes outside and he sees Shinichi with a bag on his hand greeting the police

"Good afternoon, Nakamori-keibu" said Shinichi smiling
"Good after Kudou-kun. It's rare for you to come here, what are you doing here?" asked Inspector Nakamori surprised
"I actually have something to do with Megure-keibu and just arrived here. Nakamori-keibu, did Aoko-chan told you her plans today with Conan?"
"Yes she did, she said she wants to learn to make a cake or something"
"Will you come home late today?"
"If I didn't get any emergency case, then I should be home early. Why?"
"Actually I will be here until near dinner time, so I'm thinking to ask you to have dinner with us? Aoko-chan should be okay with it"
"Eh? Is it okay?"
"Conan wouldn't mind, he also asks me to give you this"

Shinichi give the bag to Inspector Nakamori and as he looks inside which to be a two stack bento box

"Conan made lunch for you, thinking you may haven't eaten yet" said Shinichi smiles
"Wow thank you Kudou-kun, just this time should be my late lunch break. For the dinner time, I will tell you then around my time off since you will be here. But I might be late to reach your house since I use train to work today" said Inspector Nakamori
"Don't worry, I have my bike with me and I also brought two helmets. My license already let me ride with two people"
"I see, thank you Kudou-kun. I will give you my updates"
"Alright, see you later Nakamori-keibu"

Shinichi quickly went away to the first division, while Inspector Nakamori comes into his room and see the lunch that was given him. He quickly sits by the sofa and take it out and was surprised to see fried chicken, rice, salad and also some sauce condiments. He also notices some fruits on the other box that were sliced up nicely which he can share with everyone

"Seriously, Kudou-kun is very lucky to have that brat to be his relative. He should be getting this lunch every day… I should really take his dinner offer" thought Inspector Nakamori smirking

Time Skip~

At Kudou's house

"You give Nakamori-keibu lunch? Since you made him lunch so you always do that every day to Kudou as well?!" asked Kaito as he washes the dishes
"Of course not… I have school too you know" said Conan as he slices some vegetables
"But you did make some if he had a soccer match in the weekend" said Haibara as she sits down eating some cookies
"Really? But I don't remember Kudou-kun bring it when he goes to Ekoda for soccer match" said Aoko thinking while eating cookies
"Ahh that time we have a fight so I didn't make lunch for him" said Conan giggle
"You are evil" said Haibara
"Oi oi oi blame him for making me angry"

Suddenly someone rings the bell and Conan quickly get it which to be Hakuba

"Good day Conan-kun, sorry for visiting in short notice" said Hakuba
"It's fine Hakuba, by the way, are you staying until dinner time? Nakamori-keibu also seems to be joining us" said Conan
"Don't worry, I'm just here for only half an hour, I have other plans later on"
"Alright… Come in"

Hakuba sudden arrival of course surprise Aoko and Kaito while Haibara just sigh as she already realizes what is the purpose of him coming. Conan was about to bring tea but Haibara already pour one cup for him which Hakuba thank her

"Wow this tea is great. You have a good eye on this" said Hakuba smiles
"It's from Shinichi-niichan's mom. She always sends some gifts from around the world trip and few days ago she gives us some tea from Europe" said Conan
"That explains why it's so good to combine with the cookie we made" said Aoko

Conan just smiles as he talks with both Hakuba and Kaito who seems to be unhappy seeing him. Aoko realize something and become curious, so she quickly goes to them

"Aoko have a question" said Aoko to Hakuba and Conan
"Yes?" asked Hakuba and Conan together
"Why did Conan-kun call only Hakuba instead of Hakuba-niisan?"
"Ahh I told him to. We both from English environment country after all so I got used to being called with just a name by someone younger than me" said Hakuba smirking
"I see… That's why Hakuba seems okay about you calling him with name only but Hakuba-kun still call him using -kun?" asked Aoko
"Ahh it becomes my habit in Japan so I can't help myself"

Kaito just give a short laugh listening to their conversation as he helps Haibara with putting some utensils back to its place. Hakuba then stand up which grab everyone's attention

"Then Conan-kun, can we talk alone for the thing I want to show you" said Hakuba with a smile
"Alright then let's go to the living room. Haibara, can I ask you to do the rest for dinner?" asked Conan
"I don't mind, but I can't do it alone since we're making a lot. I have a feeling I need to make extras as well" said Haibara
"I can help! Kaito will help as well" said Aoko smiling
"Alright, then let's go" said Conan smiling

With that, both Conan and Hakuba goes to the living room leaving the three behind. Haibara quickly instruct Aoko and Kaito to do each task

"Still, I'm curious what are they talking about" said Aoko
"I'm sure it's about that phantom thief since they always meet each other in his heists" said Haibara as she washes her hands
"Oi oi oi… Now I'm curious" thought Kaito as he looks to the living room

At the living room

"So Conan-kun, may I ask on how did you know Kuroba?" asked Hakuba serious
"He was an acquaintance with Shinichi-niichan. It seems Niichan once help him solve a problem and since then, they became close" said Conan as he tried to remember
"Kudou-kun huh? That's surprising"
"I know right, when he visits our house for the first time, it really surprised me"
"I see then I will get into the point"

Hakuba let out some papers, which he quickly gives to Conan. Conan quickly read it and surprises to see that it was a DNA result with a hair and also the description

"This is…" said Conan surprised
"I got Kaitou Kid's hair in one heist and I quickly examine it which shows the result of Kid's hair color, blood type, and age which estimates between 15 years old and 17 years old" said Hakuba
"Are you sure that it's his hair?"
"I'm very positive that this is his hair. I use the result and compares it with all high school students that match with this description that was given. Kuroba Kaito is in my top suspect"
"I see… The reason you showed me this and knowing that I know Kaito-niisan, you wanted my opinion?"
"Yes"

Conan read all the papers very seriously and also the list of suspects that was given. He then sighs as he gives back the papers to Hakuba

"This is my opinion on this. It's still lacked on evidences" said Conan serious
"Lacked?" asked Hakuba surprised
"When I read this carefully, I can't quickly agree with you if Kaito-niisan is the Kaitou Kid. Firstly, yes Kaito-niisan is a magician just like Kaitou Kid but at the same time, it's because Kaito-niisan's father is a famous magician, so it's not surprising that he would follow his father's path. Second, there were other people on the list besides him, so we can't conclude him only, we have to conclude the rest and look into them more"

Hakuba got speechless as Conan said all of his opinions on his files and then Conan point out the age with his finger

"Last thing, from what Shinichi-niichan's father, Kudou Yusaku told me… Kaitou Kid start his crimes for years ago and Yusaku-ojiisan was the former rival of Kaitou Kid before he gave that role to me, so in other words, there's no way this files is about Kid since he should be older. At the same time, there's also a chance that he's the second generation since he did get hiatus for 8 years, but we can't conclude anything since there's no evidence showing about Kid having two generations" said Conan serious
"I see… I respect your opinion, Conan-kun. I can confirm that you didn't believe in these files and about me pointing Kuroba as Kaitou Kid?" asked Hakuba
"I'm being honest, 30% of me believing in you while the rest is not. As a detective, we can't point out the culprit without proper evidences. Pressing him further will only cause bigger problems"
"That's indeed wise words…"
"Oh that's what Niichan always said to me. He's a high school detective and mystery geek for a reason"
"As expected from Kudou Shinichi, the famous high school detective of the east. Thank you for your opinion Conan-kun but in the end, I really do believe that Kuroba Kaito is indeed Kaitou Kid"
"I see, so what are you going to do?"
"Since I happen to be in the same class as him, I will wisely look after him and also tried to prove him on the crime scene as Kaitou Kid"
"Well I say good luck about it"

Suddenly Hakuba's phone rings and from the call, it seems Hakuba have to go. As before he left, Conan packed some cookies that they all made for him which Hakuba gladly take it and also bid farewell to everyone as he goes out.

Time Skip~

Shinichi just arrive to his home with his bike along with the passenger behind him. The passenger take off the helmet which to be Inspector Nakamori who seems in awe seeing the big house

"Wow, you two have a big house" said Inspector Nakamori
"Please, I don't know what my parents are thinking too. They literally leave me here alone before Conan moves in with me after all" said Shinichi smile as he opens the gate
"I see I see"
"Still, I'm surprised you can join Nakamori-keibu. Megure-keibu told me that 2nd division have a long term case to do"
"Ahh that, I already work late for the past few days, so they let me home on time today"

Shinichi then understood and then park his motorcycle in the garage, so he told Inspector Nakamori to ring the bell to goes in. As he did it, the one who greets him is Professor Agasa

"Good evening Nakamori-keibu! Please come in" said Professor Agasa smiles
"Good evening Professor Agasa, where are the others?" asked Inspector Nakamori
"Conan-kun, Ai-kun and Aoko-kun are getting dinner ready. Kaito-kun is in the living room watching the news with me"
"I see still this house is quite big"
"Hahaha you will get used to it"

Inspector Nakamori goes to the living room and see Kaito watching the news on the TV. Kaito looks at him and then stand up greeting him

"Good evening keibu, glad you can make it. I knew it, you wouldn't miss Conan-kun's dinner right" said Kaito smirking
"No way, I just happen to get home on time today" said Inspector Nakamori

But he was lying, the moment Shinichi invite him, he forces himself to go home on time. Kaito quickly take him to the dining room to see them making dinner along with Professor Agasa following them. As they come in, they see Shinichi setting up the table

"Oi Kuroba, help me out" said Shinichi unhappy
"Coming coming!" said Kaito as he helps Shinichi
"Dad! Glad you can make it" said Aoko smiling
"Hehehe, is it ready yet?" asked Inspector Nakamori
"Yes! You can sit down anywhere"

Inspector Nakamori and Professor Agasa sit down on the table as the young ones are getting ready for dinner. Conan finishes the last batch of the steak that he prepared and then ask Kaito to bring it to the table

"Here Kaito-niisan. Also Niichan, please put this on the table" said Conan as he gives a tray of bowl of rice
"Yes…" said both Kaito and Shinichi
"Edogawa-kun, the appetizer is done" said Haibara
"Let me take it Ai-chan" said Aoko smiling
"Thank you"

As the high schoolers leave, the grade schoolers stay to clean a little before eat

"Still, today is more lively than usual. You even go all out there by making those many steaks" said Haibara to Conan
"Ahahaha you could say that. We did start on baking in the afternoon" said Conan smile
"Can you tell me now, what did Hakuba ask you?"
"Hmmm… I will tell you on dessert time okay"

Few moments later

All of them are now eating dinner and Inspector Nakamori is very please by the food which they laugh happily as they eat. Right now, Professor Agasa and Inspector Nakamori is talking about the news, Kaito and Shinichi is talking about the upcoming soccer match, Haibara and Aoko are talking about ingredients for sweets. Shinichi and Kaito notice that Conan has been quiet so Shinichi poke him which surprise him

"What's wrong? Are you tired?" asked Shinichi in low voice
"A little but it's fine" said Conan smiling with low voice but audible to Kaito
"I see, don't push yourself, okay. After everybody get home, you have to go to bed early"
"Alright"
"Can't be helped, he did go around the kitchen a lot to teach Aoko baking and also preparing dinner for large amount of people" thought Kaito as he looks at Conan

After eating dinner, Aoko quickly serve the chocolate cake that she, Conan and Haibara made in the afternoon. Inspector Nakamori, Professor Agasa and Kaito eyes light up seeing the cake in front of them that's of course get a glare from Haibara which made Professor Agasa shrunk a little

"Don't worry Haibara, just let him for today. This cake need to be tasted by everyone" said Conan calming her
"Huh… can't be helped, only for today" said Haibara
"YES!" said Professor Agasa happily

After giving the cake to everyone, Conan and Haibara sit by the counter while the adults are sitting by the table talking with each other. Inspector Nakamori also tell them about the case that he's currently doing. Shinichi quickly hear the case and as what Inspector Nakamori told him, he gave some advices and his thoughts about the case which give a light to him

"Thank you Kudou-kun. I will try your advice tomorrow" said Inspector Nakamori smiling
"As always Nakamori-keibu. You did help Conan when it comes to Kid heists so this is the least I can do" said Shinichi
"Nee Kudou-kun, this is just me or those two are very close" asked Aoko looking at both Conan and Haibara

Conan and Haibara seems to be talking quite serious since Conan show something on his phone while Haibara read it and also giving her thoughts. Shinichi just smile as he continues to eat

"Let's just say, they have a quite interesting relationship" said Shinichi smiles
"Interesting relationship?" asked Kaito who got curious
"I can only tell you that"

Aoko look at the two grade schoolers and suddenly when Conan got focus on his phone, he didn't realize that Haibara is secretly look at him and then she looks back to the phone. As Haibara look at the phone, Aoko sees that Conan secretly look to Haibara before he looks back again to the phone. Aoko then smile understand what Shinichi words mean

"I see… I understand Kudou-kun!" said Aoko smiling
"As expected. Girls should understand this faster than boys after all" said Shinichi
"Ahahaha" laugh Professor Agasa

Kaito and Inspector Nakamori just look at each other confuse by the talk but they let them be as they continue to talk while eating the rest of their dessert. Aoko also took some of the leftover cookies that they made and let Inspector Nakamori taste it which he was in awe

"This is Ai-chan's recipe. She taught me this afternoon" said Aoko smiling
"You can also eat it Professor, it's low calorie chocolate cookies" said Shinichi smiles
"I know, Ai-kun sometimes made this for us" said Professor Agasa as he eats
"So she's the same length as Conan-kun?" asked Inspector Nakamori
"When it comes to dessert, she's the expert. That time in White day, Conan try his best to make a good white chocolate for her since he knows that she's very good a judging sweets" said Shinichi
"Ehh, so that means Conan-kun got a Valentine chocolate from her?" asked Kaito
"He did tell me that he got the leftover chocolate that she made for her friends"
"Didn't Aoko-kun also get white day chocolate?" asked Professor Agasa
"Eh? No I didn't since I didn't give Valentine chocolate to anyone" said Aoko
"Really?! I thought you will give to Kuroba and Nakamori-keibu?" asked Shinichi
"That was the plan, but dad was out of town that time and Kaito being stupidly happy for getting a lot of Valentine chocolates from our classmates, so I didn't get them anything"
"Can't be helped, that's my first Valentine where I was not sick" said Kaito unhappy
"Baka" thought Shinichi as he looks at Kaito

The adults are laughing as Conan who sees them just smile which get Haibara's attention

"What's wrong?" asked Haibara
"It's just a very homey atmosphere, that's all. I don't know Nakamori-keibu can be this relax since we only meet when it comes to Kid heists" said Conan smile
"Well it's all thanks to Shinichi-san who happen to be friends with Aoko-san and Kuroba-san"
"Yeah…"
"You are very fond with this Kudou-kun? Is it that different with Ran-san and Mouri-san?"
"Well you could say that. I mean, Shinichi-niichan rarely invite anyone except Ran-neechan and Sonoko-neechan. He is close with Nakamichi-niichan, but he always played to his house but never here. Seeing him talk happily like this without mystery involved is rare, after all"
"Now that you mention it, every time Ran-san and Mouri-san have dinner here, they always talk latest case in police headquarters. They did talk for a while, but it seems to change into something else"
"I think I overheard about Valentine chocolate or something. Maybe next year, Aoko-neechan need your help on making it"
"And you're thinking to make White day chocolate for her right?"
"Ahahaha you read my mind. Since I did give you, Ran-neechan and Eri-obaasan"
"Who gives out white day chocolate without getting any Valentine chocolate"

Conan just smiles as he continues looking at his phone and then Haibara change the file to something else that caught her interest

"What's that?" asked Haibara
"Ah this is my report card in that school. Dad gave it to me yesterday to confirm about something" said Conan
"Hmmm… You did pretty well in every subject except history, which is surprising"
"Well I did get low in history because I didn't take the midterm exam"
"Why?"
"I was locked up by one of my bullies in the janitor's room. Luckily I only miss the history exam that day"
"You sure are calm telling me this"
"I told you before right, I believe in you as you believe in me. Not to mention, you did go to that school after all"
"Yes yes… But Kudou-kun, I have an evil question for you"
"Hm?"
"Do you have any thoughts of getting revenge on them?"

Conan eyes shot up hearing Haibara's question. Conan's change of face was seen by Kaito and Shinichi which make them curious. The boy then let out a smirk and look at Haibara

"I would be lying if I don't have it" said Conan smirking
"Well, that's expected, right. You should be glad that you moved here" said Haibara as she looks at Conan's phone for some bags to buy
"Ahahaha of course"

Time Skip~

After done eating and talking, all of them are about to go home. Professor Agasa offer a ride home with Aoko and Kaito since both Aoko and Kaito did use train to visit. Haibara goes back home to check on her computer. Conan and Shinichi are cleaning the kitchen floor since Kaito and Shinichi already wash the dishes so they have easier time to clean

"Conan, you can go to bed now. I can do the rest" said Shinichi
"It's fine, I can-"
"No you're not. I don't know what Haibara told you but it made your head all over the place. You should go to bed first"
"Alright, good night Shinichi-niichan"
"Good night"

Conan quickly went up to his room which Shinichi sigh as he continues cleaning the kitchen. After cleaning, he quickly goes to the living room and turn on the TV as it plays the news about celebrity scandals and other stuff. He let it on as he read a case file that he got from the police headquarters today. Suddenly someone comes beside him which to be Conan with his pajamas

"Conan?!" asked Shinichi surprised
"Sorry Niichan, can I stay for a while… I can't sleep" said Conan as he watches TV
"Well I don't mind but don't be up too late as well. You have school tomorrow after all"
"Talk to yourself"
"Hahaha…"

Shinichi continue to read the case file while Conan who was sitting for a while suddenly rest his head on Shinichi's body which surprise Shinichi for a moment but he let him be since it seems he needs someone to accompany him right now. Conan looks at his big brother and then watch TV again

"You're not asking?" asked Conan in low voice
"If you don't want to talk about it, then I will not force you to tell me. But I do have a deduction" said Shinichi as he holds Conan's head
"Let me hear it then, high school detective"
"Haibara must have asked you about your past in LA right? To be exact, about your previous school. I did catch about you thinking about janitor's room from your thoughts in the kitchen before you went up"
"As expected from a high school detective. You got it right"
"Whatever you remember, I'm sure you will not be getting those things ever again. You're a grade school here and your opponents are all your age, so they don't stand a chance against you"
"Yeah I know… That's why let me stay for a while… At least, I can confirm myself that I'm safe since you are beside me"

As he hears what his little brother said, he just smiles as he put his hand around Conan's body. Conan look at the TV while Shinichi continue reading the case files on his hand. Few moments later, he heard a soft snoring which he can see that Conan already asleep which make him smile as he gently put him in sleeping position and take off his glasses

"Maybe I will put him on bed later after I'm done with this" thought Shinichi

Shinichi turn off the TV so that Conan have peace and quiet while he stayed looking at the file seriously. Suddenly he heard that Conan's breathing became unstable which he was shock as he closes the file and holds Conan

"Oi Conan! Wake up!" shout Shinichi worried
"I'm sorry… Let me out…" said Conan in low voice but his eyes still close and he said it in English
"CONAN!"

Shinichi's should manage to wake up Conan from his sleep and he looks surprise to see Shinichi in front of him looking worried so he quickly sits up

"Nii… chan…" said Conan surprised
"I'm here buddy… That's just a nightmare" said Shinichi as he pat Conan's head
"Um…"

Conan quickly hugs Shinichi's body and covering his face with his stomach. Shinichi was surprised but then he let him as he holds onto his head

"Conan… Do you want to sleep with me today?" asked Shinichi worried
"Yes…" said Conan nodding
"Alright, let's go"

Shinichi then quickly took Conan around his arms and Conan hug Shinichi's neck like a baby. The high schooler look serious to him as he went upstairs

"Is he having a nightmare about his bullying case back in LA…" thought Shinichi serious

Time Skip~

At Ekoda High School

"Aoko! These cookies are delicious! I don't know you can bake?!"

Aoko's classmate and friend, Momoi Keiko is eating chocolate cookies that Aoko give her. Aoko smile by the compliment, leaving Kaito just sitting on his chair eating his portion of cookies himself

"Right?! I got amazing little teachers" said Aoko happily
"Little teachers?" asked Keiko confused
"I will keep it as my secret"
"Ahh Aoko!"

Kaito sigh as he looks at his phone and then he was surprised that he got a message from Shinichi. He quickly looks at it and surprisingly, he asked him to go somewhere quiet and then call him

"Aoko, I need to go for a while, tell the teacher I will be late due to stomachache!" said Kaito as he runs away
"Wait Kaito!" shout Aoko surprised

Few moments later

Kaito is on the roof and confirm that no one else is there, so he quickly calls Shinichi which he quickly answered

"Hello? What's wrong Kudou?" asked Kaito surprised
"You are alone right?" asked Shinichi serious
"Yes, I'm on the rooftop right now, why?"
"Alright, I'm asking your other self. Kaitou Kid, do you have a plan for a heist near time?"
"That's a sudden Meitantei… For now, I do have two in mind but I was thinking on getting it later weeks"
"I see… I'm sorry but can you speed up one of them?"
"Eh?"
"To tell you the truth… Conan has been not doing well mentally so I need your help to boost his confidence back"
"Oi oi what's wrong with Tantei-kun? He seems fine yesterday… Does it have something to do of his change of look when his little friend talk to him?"
"You could say that"

Kaito was surprised and then he let out a small smile since Shinichi is using his chance of knowing Kid's true identity in an opposite way that he would be expecting which he then put one of his hand to his pocket

"I see… Alright, if you want, I can speed it up. I will give my notice tomorrow morning and do the heist at night" said Kaito smirk
"Thanks… Sorry for asking something weird" said Shinichi in low voice
"Don't worry, I did owe Tantei-kun a lot. Even though I don't know if my heist can help to get his confidence back but I will try my best"
"That's what I need from you"

The next day

"Breaking news! Kaitou Kid just sent a notice to the police!" said the newscaster

Conan eyes shot up seeing the news as he quickly looks into it serious. Shinichi on the other hand just let out a small smile as he sees his little brother seems to be livened up thanks to the notice. As on cue, someone call the house phone and Conan quickly took it which of course to be Inspector Nakamori telling him about the notice

"Please, let him have a good time tonight" thought Shinichi as he walks away

Time Skip~

The heist was crazy

Kaitou Kid goes all out with his tricks from either smoke bomb, wires and also cards around the museum right now. The police are right now having a big chase trying to get him while Conan didn't follow them and goes the opposite way instead. Shinichi, Ran and Sonoko are staying in one room until suddenly someone knock on the door which to be Aoko

"Aoko-san!" said Ran surprised
"Hello! Sorry, I was delivering dinner for my dad but it seems Kid already went all out" said Aoko smiling
"Just to make sure that you are not Kid-sama" said Sonoko smirking

Sonoko quickly pinch Aoko's cheeks with Ran laughing at her mischievous act. Shinichi on the other hand just laugh by the sight and look through the window waiting for good news. Moments later, he got a message from Kaito that he's currently on the rooftop with Conan and it seems Conan enjoying the heist very well, so he was glad but as he about to close his phone, a call came and he can't believe his eyes, Kudou Yusaku is calling him. His parents rarely call him and always visit them unannounced, so getting a call from them is almost as rare as winning a prize on a competition.

"Hello?" asked Shinichi as he picks up the phone
"Shinichi! Where's Conan-kun right now?" asked Yusaku serious
"I don't know how you figured out that both of us are separated but I lost Conan the moment he's fighting Kid"
"I see… If he's okay then that's fine"
"Oi… Something's going on with Conan and you know about it?"
"What do you mean?"
"He's been acting weird, either you tell me or I force mom to tell me everything!"

It seems Shinichi hit the mark on that one because he found it suspicious on how jumpy Conan is and he knows that Haibara asking him something related to his past shouldn't make him this jumpy, so there must be another factor that making him act like that

"Fine… Conan almost become a murder suspect here in LA" said Yusaku serious
"What?!" shout Shinichi

Shinichi's shouting grab everyone's attention. Ran was surprised and then becomes worried since Shinichi showed a very scary look

"Tell me everything right now!" said Shinichi angrily
"A student in LA died two weeks ago and it turned out to be one of the bullies. Their parents are very suspicious of their son's death which they suspect everyone who was the victim of their son's behavior and Conan was one of them. I managed to explain to the police that Conan right now is not even in the country and there are no records of him visiting LA" said Yusaku
"You told Conan about this?"
"Yes, I ask him of what is he doing on the day just to make sure and luckily, Conan told me that he was with Megure-keibu giving statement of the murder he solved with his friends so I can get Megure-keibu's alibi confirmation for the police here. Also the police want to confirm one of the evidence which is Conan's report card"
"What's a report card have something to do with the case?"
"It seems the bully once trapped Conan inside the janitor's room which make him got low grade in one of the lesson. The school gave the statement and evidence about it to the police here and ask for confirmation. They also need Conan's statement by phone week ago"
"A week?! Man he's too good when it comes to hiding things"
"He's hiding it from you huh…"

Shinichi was surprised as Yusaku seems to understand why Conan keep this from Shinichi so he stayed quiet waiting for him to talk

"For Conan, his school life in LA is the worst thing he went through. I'm sure he doesn't want you to worry because his mental health was not good from his Tropical Land trauma, so he doesn't want you to worry more than that" said Yusaku
"I will be bluntly told you that I had enough. The one thing I hate the most is seeing Conan hurt and he didn't show or tell me anything about it. I tried my best to read him, but in the end, I can't read him properly like you did. I'm practically useless" said Shinichi as he tightened his fist
"Shinichi… You're wrong… The one who can save him right now, is you… Go find him"

The high schooler look surprised as he gritted his teeth and then he turned off the phone and then look at his friends right now

"Please, I need all of your help" said Shinichi serious
"What's wrong Kudou-kun?" asked Aoko worried
"Conan is not mentally stable for a while now and it seems I just found out the trigger of it. I want to check on the roof but I need your help to look around here for him"
"Alright!" said Ran, Aoko and Sonoko together

Time Skip~

"CONAN?!" shout Shinichi as he looked around worried

Shinichi finally found him right on the rooftop of the museum. Conan is looking toward the sea of lights alone on the roof. At first, he was relief seeing that he's alright but he feels that something's not right

"Oh Niichan, you are here" said Conan in low voice as he didn't look him
"Conan… Come back here" said Shinichi worried
"Why? It seems nice here, so I want to stay for a while"
"Oi… you are too close to the edge… I beg you to come back"

Shinichi is really worried about his little brother. Kid already message him that he seems fine fighting him but he knows really well how Conan's acting can be scary because no one can't see what he's hiding behind his acting mask

"Niichan… Why did you sound scared?" asked Conan in low voice
"I'm sorry Conan but I heard everything from dad. Please I beg you to come here" said Shinichi serious
"I see… Well can't be helped since he's also worried about me. Then Niichan, can you tell me something"
"What is it?"
"Should I consider myself a bad person… For being glad that he's dead now…"

Shinichi eyes shot up hearing Conan's words as he looks back and show teary eyes to Shinichi which is very hurtful scene

"Shinichi-niichan… Please tell me… Am I bad for having these emotions inside me… I'm… I'm so confused right now" said Conan shivering as he tightened his fists

The high schooler didn't think of anything and just run to him. He quickly took Conan away from the edge and quickly hug him close

"I don't know either Conan… Because I don't know how it feels like in your position but one thing is certain... No matter who you are, either good or bad, you will always be my little brother. Let me- no, right now with me and everyone around us be your comfort place. Don't keep your emotions and just let it out" said Shinichi as he pat his back
"Niichan… I'm sorry… I'm sorry!" shout Conan as he cries his lungs out

Both of them stay for a while on the roof without noticing that Ran, Sonoko and Aoko just arrive to the rooftop seeing the scene. Seconds later, Conan fell asleep on Shinichi's hug which the high schooler sigh in relief as he gently pat his back. Ran walk slowly to their position. Shinichi notice a presence behind him which he gently got up and then turn around

"I found him" said Shinichi in low voice with a sad smile
"Shinichi…" said Ran worried
"Is he okay?" asked Sonoko
"I hope he's fine… I'm sorry for making everyone worried"
"It's fine Kudou-kun. If I'm in your position, I will be as scared as you and seeing Conan-kun like this really hurts" said Aoko worried as she comes forward
"Thank you Aoko-chan… Mind keeping what happen here our secret… I'm also talking to you Kaitou Kid"

As Shinichi said that, the girls are surprised by his words until someone descent with his usual white costume

"Don't worry, your secret is safe with me" said Kid serious in low voice
"What makes you think we can believe you!" shout Aoko angrily
"Wait Nakamori-san" said Sonoko surprises
"Because Tantei-kun is my rival, that's the only reason I can make" said Kid as he jumps to near all of them
"Kid…" said Ran surprised

Kid walk forward to Shinichi as he looks at the sleeping boy on his arms. He sighs as he looks at Shinichi with a worried look

"I'm sorry…" said Kid serious
"It's fine… At least you tried. Thank you" said Shinichi with a small smile
"Alright, then I will be going"

The phantom thief quickly jumps from the building and fly away from the scene. The girls were confused by their conversation but they can ask that another day.

Time Skip~

At Beika Central Hospital

"Yes… Conan is now being examined by the doctor"

Shinichi is waiting outside the room since Conan meeting his doctor for his mental health problem that he's having for a while. The high schooler right now is calling Yusaku on the phone

"I see, it seems the news hit him too hard after all" said Yusaku serious
"But dad… Just how long will Conan have to endure all of this" said Shinichi in low voice
"Shinichi…"
"I really want him to stop being haunted by those memories. Seeing him on the edge of the roof really scared me… His face that time… It's like… He was about to jump"
"I know you are scared but I don't think Conan would do such thing"
"Um…"
"Shinichi, you are being by his side is already enough. He already got much love and care that he needed in Japan either from you or his friends. I know you're scared but you are his big brother and guardian over there, I know you can calm him down"
"Alright… Thank you dad, I will be going"
"Alright"

Shinichi close his phone and goes back to the waiting room as he waits for Conan. Moments later, someone goes to his side which to be Ran and Sonoko

"Shinichi!" said Ran worried
"Ran? Sonoko? What about school?!" asked Shinichi surprised
"Ran can't calm down so we go home early after the fourth period. Luckily there are no exams today so we just go out" said Sonoko explaining
"Oi oi"
"How's Conan-kun?" asked Ran
"He's still with the doctor. I was beside him at first but then the doctor told me to wait outside"
"You rarely know what is the brat talking with the doctor?"
"Rare to almost never. Well he's the same doctor as the one who examined Conan for the first time in LA. He's also an acquittance to the Interpol, which is why dad believes in him taking care of Conan's mental health. It seems he's the one who knows Conan's problem in LA.
"I see…"

The door was open and showed Conan goes out and bow to the doctor before closing the door completely. He turned around and surprise to see Ran and Sonoko right beside Shinichi

"Ran-neechan and Sonoko-neechan?! Why? What about school?" asked Conan surprised
"We go home early today after the fourth period. Ran is too worried about you after yesterday" said Sonoko
"Are you really okay now Conan-kun?" asked Ran worried as he holds Conan's shoulders
"Yeah… I'm sorry for worrying but I'm fine now. I already talk to the doctor about what happen and he told me to at least meet him twice a month" said Conan as he let out the doctor's slip to Shinichi
"I see, I will quickly arrange the schedule then. If there's a date that I can't, Ran, can you help me to accompany him?" asked Shinichi as he read the slip
"Alright, I can accompany Conan-kun"

The boy just smiles as he looked at Shinichi who seems looking at the slip serious and then stand up

"Well it's already lunchtime, how about we eat somewhere?" asked Shinichi
"Let's go!" said Sonoko happily
"Come on Conan-kun" said Ran smiling
"Alright!"

Four of them quickly goes out from the hospital hoping that everything will be fine in the future.

Meanwhile in LA, Yusaku shut his phone looking serious as he walks toward the window that's showing the night sky

"Someday you will know Shinichi… The curse that's call the truth that Conan want to let go from him…" thought Yusaku as he silently looked at the table that has a file with Conan's name on it and also the TV that's showing the news about the murder of a high school boy

Also guys, I will take back what I said about not making Conan and Haibara special chapter... After seeing the Movie 26 BD bonus Preorder and also SEGA new illustrations, it practically triggered my CoAi fangirling to overload. So please expect Conan and Haibara special soon~
