A/N: Title's source should be self explanatory. Enjoy everyone!

Oscar Pine lies face first on the floor with his Aura deep in the red. "Professor Ozpin," he says as he pushes himself to his feet, "I appreciate the lessons you've been giving me, but I'm not sure I'm taking to them all that well."

"Nonsense," the older man he'd just been defeated by says, offering him a hand up. "Our combat styles are very similar, Mr. Pine. Considering how much longer I've been training than you? You did very well to last as long as you did. You should be proud."

Oscar accepts the hand up and the praise, though he's still not certain why Beacon's Headmaster is showing such a personal interest in his training. Ever since the first weekend after classes began, the silver-haired headmaster had been giving him special lessons, and while Oscar is both flattered and appreciative, it doesn't make much sense to him. Still, it's thanks to the professor's tutelage that Burst is far more manageable than it once was. Until now, it had been something of a last resort, but now he can drain the Dust Crystals in increments. It gives him more ranged options and lessens the risk of collateral damage.

"Yeah, you're doing great Os!" Lyra cheers excitedly. "It was a whole five minutes before the Professor made you eat dirt this time!"

The rest of Team PNGN, and Ruby, who had joined them to watch Oscar train, facepalm at the wolf faunus' tactless words. "Lyra…" Reggie groans. "You didn't have to say it like that."

"What?!" Lyra demands, seeming genuinely confused. "I was just givin' him a compliment."

"Lyra," Yu says patiently, "it doesn't really sound like a compliment when you say things like 'eat dirt'."

Oscar laughs as he approaches his teammates and best friend. "It's fine," he assures an apologetic looking Lyra. "I appreciate your honesty." He's been on her team for a few weeks at this point, and he can confidently say the faunus girl doesn't have a bad bone in her body. Sometimes she'll put her foot in her mouth, or get so excited that she acts without thinking, but without a doubt Lyra is kind.

Yu claps Oscar on the shoulder. "Yeah Partner, I'd say your efforts here could earn you the gold," the leader of Team PNGN praises. The taller boy smiles at the rest of his team. "We'll have to work just as hard to keep up with his progress, right?"

Lyra cracks her knuckles, the faint outline of her Semblance manifesting around her gauntlets. "I'll take you on, Boss," she offers with a toothy grin. "Ever since you mopped the floor with that Cardin asshole, I've been itching to have a scrap with you."

The air between them turns electric, and not only because Yu's sword begins to spark in his excitement. Yu is inarguably the most skilled combatant on Team PNGN, and after Oscar probably the most dangerous long range. By contrast Lyra has the most physical power of anyone on the team, and as such is the most devastating at close range.

Yu matches her grin with one of his own. "You're on," he says, excitement bleeding into his typically placid tone. "I haven't sparred with a teammate since I left home."

"Very well," Professor Ozpin says, "I will serve as your supervisor. But if I call for a halt, the fight is over. Understood?"

"Understood," Lyra and Yu say in unison as they take their positions in the arena.

"Ruby," Oscar tells his friend. "Let the others know what's going on, something tells me they won't wanna miss this."

Ruby is already tapping a message into her scroll all the while quivering with excitement. "Oh, I will. No one is gonna want to miss this."

Honestly, it feels good to be fighting one of his friends. That'd probably sound strange to most people, but sparring was just as frequent at Yasogami as it is at Beacon and with such a small population Yu had clashed with friends as often as not. Not everyone gave as good as his old team did, of course, but there's just something Yu finds comforting about crossing blades with someone he trusts. Or in this case crossing a blade and gauntlets, he supposes.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Ruby says, hands waving theatrically, "welcome to one of the most anticipated matches of the season! On the right, standing in at five feet and eleven inches we have Yu Narukami, leader of Team PNGN and Inaba's Kingpin of Steel!"

"Why do so many people know that nickname?" Yu asks no one in particular, but otherwise he remains laser focused on his opponent. Wild Card is still sheathed at his side, but it won't remain that way for much longer.

"Standing opposite him is the pretti- ahem, mightiest member of Team PNGN," Reggie says. "The Queen of Combat, Lyra Nacht!"

One of her hands is shrouded in the black Aura claw that is her Semblance. "You'd better take this fight seriously, Boss," she warns lightheartedly. "I can't disappoint a crowd."

"Heh," Yu snorts, though not derisively. "Same here." His hand clenches around Wild Card's hilt, electricity sparking.

"Now, Mr. Narukami, Miss Nacht… begin!" Professor Ozpin says.

In a blink of an eye, both of Lyra's hands are covered in her Semblance two giant claws made of her black Aura, and she's rushing at Yu. "All eyes on me, everybody!" she says.

Yu unsheathes Wild Card, already preparing a slash to intercept her clawed strike. "Impressive," Yu praises. "Your strength and speed remind me of one of my classmates." Lightning builds up around Yu's sword when he tries to parry her next strike. It works, but the glancing blows they both manage take more of his Aura than hers. Yu's mind whirls. When it comes to strength, and attack capabilities she has him at a slight disadvantage, but maybe…

Jumping back a bit, Yu draws on his Semblance's power. "Zionga!" he shouts, unleashing a burst of lightning from his fist. Lyra shudders as the bolt of lightning strikes her, but she stands her ground. The wolf faunus slams her clawed fists together, seemingly bringing herself back to focus.

To Yu's confusion, she looks a bit frustrated. "C'mon, Boss, take this seriously," Lyra urges. "You haven't even busted out that fancy Persona of yours yet! People are gonna start thinking that you think you're too good to fight me seriously."

That had nothing to do with why he hadn't summoned Izanagi since initiation, and he had explained the limits associated with Izanagi the night after initiation. Did Lyra forget or is this a trick to make Yu vulnerable? Yu shakes his head. Lyra doesn't seem like the type. And there's no way he'll ever disrespect his teammates. So, on that note…

Yu's hand clenches into a fist and lightning dances within it. "Come Izanagi!" Yu calls. The air, already brimming with electricity as the two members of Team PNGN clash, gains the energy of a thunderstorm as the leather clad Aura being manifests.

Ruby's heart dances with excitement as she watches the match unfold. The combat! Yu's sword! Their Semblances!

"I don't get it," Yang says. "We saw the Kingpin summon Izanagi almost immediately with Cardin, and he thrashed the jerk almost instantly. Why did he hold out with Ly?"

Ruby had been wondering the same thing but didn't want to take her eyes off the action to ask. Pyrrha, despite her eyes never leaving the combat going on before them, answers Yang's question. "Because it's a risk. Personas are the manifestation of their wielders' Aura. If they take too much damage, their wielders' Aura will break. If you summon them their abilities are stronger, yes. However, the tradeoff is they're a separate target to drain someone's Aura and potentially even break it."

"Didn't you all wonder why he didn't summon it in any of his battles besides the one with Winchester?" Weiss asks incredulously. "He was trying to make a point with how quickly he ended that fight."

"So, what you're saying is," Jaune says thoughtfully, "since he's fighting Lyra summoning Izanagi out of the gate would've been a liability as much as a boon?"

Reggie hums in agreement. "The boss is stronger than Lyra at a distance, but she's got the advantage at close range," he explains to his fellow blondes. "And if she gets close range with Izanagi…"

"She might be able to end the fight quickly," Pyrrha confirms. "Which begs the question of why he summoned it so early in the fight."

Oscar shrugs. "He's trying to match Lyra's expectations here," Ruby's best friend explains. "Lyra wants him at his best, and for better or worse that means calling on his Persona. He can use a decent amount of power without summoning Izanagi directly, but if he has to fight seriously… well…" He trails off and allows the rain of lightning Yu summons down on the arena to prove his point.

But with her speed and strength it isn't enough to keep Lyra at bay for all that long as only some of the bolts even struck her. Her Aura is closer to the red than Yu's, but they both are giving as good as they get. Indeed, as they watch Lyra rakes Izanagi with both of her Aura claws making Yu wince deeply. The leader of Team PNGN looks at the score board and takes a deep breath. "It's been a great fight so far," Yu says as sweat drips down his face. "You're one of the strongest opponents I've ever faced." He staggers a little, both hands wrapping themselves tightly around Wild Card.

Ruby watches with concern. Is he okay? Is he about to give up? Wild Card's blade is facing into the ground of the arena…

"I appreciate the compliment, Boss," Lyra says, looking rather winded herself. "Are you about to tap out? No shame in it."

"Not… quite… yet…" Yu huffs, still leaning slightly on Wild Card. "If this doesn't work… you win. It's my last shot."

Suspecting it's now or never, Lyra lunges at Izanagi intent on bringing this battle to a decisive victory in her favor. The warrior made of Aura briefly intercepts her with his naginata and then…

Yu closes his eyes, and Izanagi vanishes. The leader of Team PNGN seems to whisper something, but Ruby's far enough away she can't hear it. Then his eyes open and despite being silver they're hard as steel. "So, this is it!" His silver eyes briefly flash, and he drives Wild Card's blade deep into the floor of the arena. Electricity floods the entire space, and there's the buzzer and Professor Ozpin sounding out Lyra's defeat. Despite coming out the victor, Yu slumps to the ground nearly the same moment Lyra does, utterly spent by their clash.

It's not long afterwards that the members of three affiliated teams are having lunch. Ruby and Oscar are watching a recording of the fight on Ruby's scroll. Oscar probably doesn't notice how close they're sitting together or that Ruby will occasionally look at him instead of the recording, blush, and then go back to the recording. Rinse and repeat. Her sister's crush is hardly subtle, and she's sure most of their teammates have caught on by now. In fact, Yang is pretty sure the only people who don't realize Ruby and Oscar like each other are Ruby and Oscar. She's very tempted to tease her little sister about how close they are, but that will only manage to make them leap apart and not look at each other for several minutes.

Yu seems particularly absorbed by his scroll, and Yang chances a peak hoping it's a message from a girlfriend or something that has the silver-haired young man so distracted. Instead, it's a picture of Yu and a little girl. She looks to be six or so, if Yang had to guess. A tactful person might leave Yu to his own devices. "Who's that? Your baby sister?" Yang is not a tactful person.

Yu smiles, but it's tinged with melancholy. "By adoption," he offers. "Nanako's my cousin, but her parents, my aunt and uncle, pretty much raised me."

Yang considers commiserating about missing parents, but it doesn't feel like the time or place. "She's a cutie," Yang says instead. "I see the stands in the background. Were you at a summer festival or something?"

The melancholy tinge grows. "It's from last year," Yu says. "Nanako… wasn't in great shape for it this year."

Okay, Yang can read between the lines on that, thank you very much. If he had actually wanted to talk about what happened to his little sister, he would say what happened to her. And going by how the ice queen goes somehow even paler than she was already… Yeah, maybe change the subject.

"Are we sharing pictures of babies now?" Jaune asks, giving her and Yu a convenient out for the growing awkwardness. "Let me introduce you all to my nephew!" Pulling out his own scroll, Jaune proudly displayed the cutest baby Yang had ever seen. "This is Adrian Cotta-Arc."

Yu mouths, Thank you, appreciative of the distraction, and Jaune nods. You'd do the same for me.

Most members of their teams look over the pictures Jaune has up on his scroll. Going by how many he has, Jaune clearly adores his little nephew, and Yang can't blame him. On her personal cuteness rankings, Adrian Cotta-Arc is up at the top. Along with Zwei, and the fact Ruby is currently unknowingly leaning against Oscar's shoulder a little. She's going to tease her little sister so much when they get back to the dorms.

"How old is he?" Reggie asks, as they all coo over Jaune's nephew in a teddy bear onesie.

"He'll be a year old in a couple months," Jaune says. "My big sister and her wife send pictures pretty often, so there'll probably be birthday pictures soon."

"We'd better see those pictures," Yang warns him jokingly. "Or else."

Everyone laughs and what little awkwardness and tension that remain melt away.

PNGN Chibi, Episode 1

Yang looks over her gathered allies. Good, everything is going according to plan. Now then, onto business. "Ladies, gentlemen, and Professor Ozpin, as Supreme Commander of the Rosegarden Shipping Brigade I call this council meeting together," the blonde says.

"Wait," Sun says, raising a hand from his seat, "why're me and Neptune here? We haven't even shown up in the story yet!"

"Not to worry Mr. Wukong, this is a noncanonical bonus piece that exists mostly for humor," Professor Ozpin explains. "The author wanted to insert a meta joke, and as he's quite partial to you both he decided to have you make it."

The collected members of the RS Brigade nod their heads. After all this fanfic was mostly so the author can write about one of his favorite ships, and he was fully willing to break canon to do so. Breaking it further in a gag series did make sense.

But wait, they weren't here to discuss the author! Yang clears her throat, drawing the attention of her hench- er, comrades back to her. "Now, as I was saying, we're here to discuss the fact that the adorable dorks have not advanced their relationship at all! And as adorable as them blushing around each other is, I want them to kiss!"

The gathered members of Teams RWBY, JNPR, and PNGN along with a few background characters loudly cheer, "Rosegarden! Rosegarden!" Except for Ren who just awkwardly mumbles it, but he has the heart if not the spirit.

"As such, I have decided that we must start forming plans to push them into confessing their feelings!" Yang declares. "We only have so long before the author gets bored of writing about Beacon and moves onto more dramatic stuff! And now I'd like Yu Narukami to step forward and explain the plan."

The silver-haired young man steps forward, pushing up the glasses he's wearing with an intimidating glint. "Thank you, Yang," he says as he unfolds a whiteboard. "Here is the multi-step plan for getting Ruby and Oscar to kiss."

There are multiple arrows and various implements listed on the board, and where each person needs to be at any given time. "Um… Boss?" Reggie says. "Not that I'd doubt you about anything, but…"

"But?" Yu says, pushing up his glasses with another scary flash.

"But isn't this a bit much? Didn't you and your girlfriend just get together because you confessed on your own ter-MMPH!" the blonde young man says before getting his mouth covered by Lyra.

Lyra gives them all an apologetic smile. "Please, forgive my boyfriend," Lyra tells the rest of the group. "He's thinking a bit too clearly right now."

"Are there any reasonable concerns?" Yu asks.

Professor Ozpin raises his hand. "Mr. Narukami, I approve of your plan wholeheartedly, but please try to keep the collateral damage to a minimum this time."

"Don't worry, Professor Ozpin. We won't mess this up. Alright guys, we're going to need an armadillo, a chess piece, and an airship," Yu says.

Later, in the dorms…

"Do you ever wonder what our teammates do when we're not around?" Oscar asks Ruby as they battle it out in Ultra Bash Siblings.

"Not really," Ruby admits. "I mean we're the main characters of this story." Then she sneezes. "Uh-oh."

"Are your Yang-Is-Doing-Something-Reckless allergies kicking up again?" Oscar asks his best friend with concern.

Ruby starts to answer, but she sneezes again. And again. And again. All she manages is a nod.

"Let's get out of here before their recklessness catches up with us," Oscar says, offering her his hand. Ruby absolutely does not blush as she takes it. Ruby Rose is not a blushing maiden who likes Oscar Pine. Nope. Nuh-uh. Okay, maybe a little bit.

Smoke rises from the dorms where the airship hit them. Students and faculty alike flee from the invading roll of armadillos. "How did we mess this up?" asks Yu as he takes in their handiwork.

"I… don't think we're welcome in the dorms anymore," Reggie says. "Any of the dorms."

Glynda Goodwitch finds the Rosegarden Shipping Brigade standing there, gazing upon their handiwork. "Why is there a roll of armadillos in the dorms and why do I think you all having something to do with it?"

"Uh… Professor Ozpin?" Yang tries, desperately passing the buck for all the chaos.

"It's migrating season," Beacon's headmaster offers with a disproportionately calm smile.

"Yeah, yeah," Yang says quickly, "it's migrating season."

The fires were put out rather quickly. Oscar and Ruby finally finished their epic video game tournament. The chess piece and airship were returned to the people they were "borrowed" from. The armadillos… made Beacon their new home. Professor Ozpin is considering making them the official Beacon Academy mascot, since there are so many of them. But the Rosegarden Shipping Brigade's attempt to force two dorks together ends in failure. This time. Yu assures us that they will try again.
