Chapter 14: A Magical Surprise Twist

(On the 11th floor of the hotel)

The elevator arrived on the 11th floor, but when Luigi and the others looked out of the elevator, they saw three top hats levitating around a bunch of magician's props.

Luigi- What's going on here?

Tails- I think his is a magic show or something.

Then the hats stopped floating around the room as the ghosts wearing them slowly revealed themselves.

Nikki- Nikki!

Lindsey- Lindsey!

Ginny- And Ginny!

Nikki, Lindsey, and Ginny (at the same time)- The Three Magician Sisters!

Then Ginny turns to look at the elevator.

Ginny- And our audience has arrived just in time!

Then Ginny flew up to the elevator door and jumped at Luigi.

Ginny- BOOO!

Luigi- AAAAAAH!

Luigi stumbled backwards and hit the floor of the elevator as the three magician ghosts laughed at him.

Lindsey- Wow, he really is as much of scaredy baby as that chap, Loewy, was!

Luigi- Loewy…?

Nikki- Well, if you want the elevator button, the show is about to begin soon. Don't keep us waiting, you five!

Then Nikki, Lindsey, and Ginny flew through the walls.

Rottytops- That wasn't very nice of how they treated Luigi! Who do they think they are?!

Luigi- They mentioned Loewy…were they referring to the same Loewy I'm thinking of…

Tails- You mean Loewy Mario? The younger brother of Marco Mario who led the Super Mario Brothers' Team 1,000 years ago?

Luigi- He's the only Loewy I know of.

Diddy Kong- Let's worry about it later. We still have a job to do.

Bandana Dee- Diddy's right. We still need the elevator button to the next floor if we want to save Kirby and the others from their portrait prison King Boo trapped them in.

(In the stage room)

Luigi, Diddy Kong, Bandana Dee, Tails, and Rottytops followed the magician ghosts trail to this stage, similar to the musical stage on the 4th floor of the hotel. As soon as they entered the room, Nikki, Lindsey, and Ginny appeared on stage with their hats off.

Nikki- So glad you could join us for our show. Hellen told us to make sure we give you the best performance we can provide.

Ginny- Wa-Zam!

Then Ginny made a stuffed rabbit come out of her hat.

Lindsey- Kadabra!

Then some billiard balls flew out of Lindsey's hat.

Nikki- Sha-LA!

However, what came out of Nikki's hat was a green shirt that looked like it was from a fashion style from 1,000 years ago.

Nikki- Owe! How did I get his shirt from a different time?

Then Nikki threw the green shirt and it hit Luigi in the face.

Rottytops- You call that magic? Let me tell you, my friend, Shantae, can do real magic.

Ginny- You think some half genie girl is a better magic user than we are?!

Lindsey- Funny, considering she couldn't stop King Boo from putting her in her portrait prison like the rest of the Super Mario Brothers' Team.

Nikki- Technically, not all of them came to this hotel. The dinosaur, swordsman, Poke'mon Trainer, Tasmanian tiger, and the angel declined Hellen Gravely's invite to the Last Resort.

Lindsey- It doesn't matter, because all King Boo wanted was Luigi. Which we'll deliver to him soon!

Then the three magician ghosts went into their hats as they circled around Luigi, Diddy Kong, Bandana Dee, Tails, and Rottytops. Before they knew it, they were in some kind of pocket dimension created by the three ghosts.

Bandana Dee- What's going on?

Tails- They must be setting the stage for their show…

Then Luigi and the others looked around and saw they were standing on a stage that appeared to be surrounded by space. Similar to those dreams Mario and the others get when members of the original team speak to them. Only there wasn't any member of the original team to speak with them this time. The Three Magician Sister each hid in a top hat and began circling around them again. Playing cards launched at Bandana Dee. He dodged it, but part of his bandana was sliced.

Bandana Dee- Hey guys, those cards they're throwing at us have bladed edges! Careful not to be cut by them!

Tails took a look at those hats and noticed something else.

Tails- It's not just those cards. The tips of their hats are also bladed.

Then the three top hats began to spin around them faster and faster as they slowly moved in closer as well. The blades on the tips of the top hats becoming more noticeable.

Luigi- Hang on! I got this!

Then Luigi used a burst move to knock all three hats over once they got in close while also stunning the three ghosts. Then Diddy Kong, Bandana Dee, and Tails sucked on the handkerchief ropes sticking out of each hat with their Poltergusts, causing Nikki, Lindsey, and Ginny to be exposed after performing a slam. Then Rottytops flashed them with her flashlight. Before they could do anything, Tails sucked up Nikki, Diddy Kong sucked up Lindsey, and Bandana Dee sucked up Ginny into their Poltergusts and the room returned to normal. But then that green shirt fell from above and landed on Luigi's face again.

Luigi- Get this off of…hang on a second…

Then Luigi reached into the pocket of that shirt and found the button for the 12th floor.

Tails- Yes, we got the next button!

Luigi- But why does this green shirt seem so familiar to me?

(1,000 years ago)

Loewy had placed this painting of Marco into a strange machine. Standing next to Loewy was a scientist who looked similar to Professor E. Gadd.

Loewy- So professor…you think we can get Marco out of there if we set the machine in reverse?

Professor who looked like E. Gadd- Well…I've never done it before, but my research does theorize it should work. Also, might be incredibly painful…

Loewy- Wait, what…?!

Then the machine activated and the painting of Marco entered the first part of the machine.

Marco- OWCH!

Then the painting moved to another part of the machine where electricity zapped the painting.

Marco- WHOOOOAH!

Then the machine moved the painting to another part where it was pressed like a stamp.

Marco- OH AAAAAAAAAA!

Then the machine moved Marco's painting into some kind of wash cycle to be cleaned and Loewy could see Marco was not enjoying being spun around like clothes in the washer. Then Marco was launched out of the last part of the machine like a rocket, only he had a picture frame around his neck. Marco's eyes were spinning as Loewy began to laugh.

Loewy- HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Marco- Well…at least someone's enjoying himself…oh, my head is spinning…mama mia…

Then Loewy rushes over to Marco and gives him a hug.

Loewy- Marco, you don't know how happy I am to see you! You wouldn't believe the night I had!

Marco- Considering I was trapped in that haunted mansion as well, I think I can believe it, Loewy.

Suddenly, Loewy hears a gust a wind blow for a moment before realizing his shirt was suddenly missing.

Loewy- Huh…? My shirt?! What just happened? I'm naked!

Marco- Actually Loewy, you still have your pants and shoes. But that is strange how your shirt just vanished like that.

Professor who looked like E. Gadd- Strange…I'm picking up a trace of a time vortex opening up here in my lab. But the only thing that got pulled into the time vortex was Loewy's shirt.

Marco- Time vortex you say, professor…hmm…I wonder…

Loewy- You wonder if this might involve the Mario Brothers in the future?

Marco- It's possible.

Loewy- I do remember while I was battling these three ghost magicians in the mansion, one of them pulled this green hat out of their hat.

Then Loewy puts the green plumber's hat with the letter "L" on it over his head.

Loewy- I think it looks good on me, but it looks so familiar for some reason.

Marco rolled his eyes and looks at the audience.

Marco (sarcastic tone)- Gee…I wonder why…

Loewy- Anyway, professor, you wouldn't happen to have another shirt on hand? It's getting drafty in here.
