Biography:

The Captain of the Royal Guards for King Mickey in Disney Castle. He met the King (also summonable as a Saber) and court magician Donald Duck (also summonable as a Caster, Berserker, Rider or Assassin) when they all were children. Later, they worked as Musketeers for Queen Minnie, who eventually married Mickey.

When the King disappeared in a quest for the Kingdom Hearts, leaving a note behind, the Queen commissioned Donald and Goofy to find and help him. While in Traverse Town, they met a boy named Sora (also summonable as a Saber), the latest wielder of a weapon known as the Keyblade. Together, Sora, Donald and Goofy had many adventures across many worlds, meeting other heroes and villains who also can be summoned by the Chaldea System, such as Rapunzel, Maleficent, Pegleg Pete, Aladdin, Peter Pan, Captain Jack Sparrow, Hercules, Tarzan, Alice Liddell, Experiment 626, Queen Elsa of Arandelle, Sora's childhood friends Riku and Kairi, and the villainous members of Organization XIII, led by the shadowy Xehanort.

After Xehanort's defeat, Sora disappeared, and Donald and Goofy went to look for their old friend. But that is another story.

Class Skills:

Magic Resistance: C

Strangely, there seems to be little difference whether the magic aimed at Shielder is modern or ancient, probably because he traveled back and forth between so many worlds taking place in different time periods, or maybe because stupidity is timeless.

There's a 50/50 chance that, when blasted by a spell, the magic will bounce back harmlessly to the caster or affect Shielder in a comical but rarely harmful way. Notably, Shielder's shields have a much better chance of tanking magic than the Servant himself, and the shields' overall efficiency, while variable (see Noble Phantasm below) appears to gravitate around A.

Riding: C

Shielder is not particularly good at driving motor vehicles, but in another incarnation he owned cars, and he may vary from being an unremarkable but competent driver to an uncharacteristically mean and reckless speed demon if he feels challenged.

As he was a frequent Gummi Ship passenger, Shielder has a limited capacity to fly aerial vessels, but he will most likely fail at landing and crash. See also- Rider Launchpad Mc Quack.

Shielder has no aptitude whatsoever to ride dragons or phantasmal beasts.

Personal Skills:

The Fool: A

Shielder is clumsy. Very clumsy. He's known for even tripping on his very long feet when walking across perfectly normal terrain. Should anything but his shield be placed in his hands, odds are he'll drop it accidentally at some point as long as he's holding it long enough.

However, this doesn't always work against him. As a matter of fact, Shielder's clumsiness seldom hurts him in a serious way, and very often it hurts his enemies instead.

It's gotten to such a point that sometimes Shielder has defeated enemies without being aware they were attacking him.

Discernment of the Poor: C

While most often acting dim and dull, Shielder can be impressively insightful about human (or dog, or mouse, or duck) nature. He sees others' feelings reasonably well and can dispense sage advice, even if he cannot follow it himself.

While he won't recognize the majority of attempts to deceive him, as he is not well connected to the mindset of those who are evil and treacherous, his words can still reach all but those most hardened hearts.

Pure Heart: A

Shielder is nearly incorruptible. He can be tricked easily, but he won't be tempted by anything he perceives or recognizes as evil. He cannot be blackmailed or bribed and he won't tell lies. He won't steal or cheat and he can be strict if necessary, as proved by his stint working in a stand at the beach. He may get furious, but his anger won't last long, reverting to his usual affable behavior. He is fiercely loyal and sticks to his given word, if he can remember it.

Hence all spells or charms to turn the Servant to evil will fail. In a way Shielder is much like Ruler Jeanne d'Arc in this aspect, to the degree evil aligned copies of him cannot be made.

Noble Phantasm:

Shield Requiping: C

Shielder starts with the Knight's Shield, a standard-issue knight's shield.

He can call forth a multitude of different shields he collected through his adventures, which count as separate minor Noble Phantasms. These include:

Smasher: A shield made for battering attack rather than defense. It' small and easily portable.

Stout Shield: A large shield that is almost impervious, but it's also heavy and slows Shielder down.

Mythril Shield: A shield mystically forged in the sandy lands of Agrabah. Extremely well balanced ratio of defense and attack.

Golem Shield: A large shield best suited for charge and assault against multiple enemies.

Adamant Shield: This is made of a metal alloy best known in other realms as adamantium, or it's at least a reasonably close facsimile. It is, on virtue of it, virtually indestructible.

Dream Shield: It has an enchantment that multiplies its effectiveness when used to protect loved ones. It was forged by Merlin himself.

Herc's Shield: A shield with enormous power sealed within. It once belonged to Hercules, an aspect of Heracles/Alcides.

Defender: A scruffy, rugged-looking shield sometimes underestimated, but it raises Shielder's Hit Point and Defense stats when used.

Mighty Shield: The most powerful of Shielder's shields. It is small, but deceivingly effective.

Summoning: "Howdy! Goofy's the name, and I hope we can be good pals! My class? No, I don't go to school anymore, that's my son... Oh, that? I'm holding a shield, guess that makes me... Archer, was it?"

Beginning of Battle:

"Somethin' wrong here."

"Oh, the world owes me a living
Deedle dardle doodle deedle dum
Oh the world owes me a living
Deedle dardle doodle deedle dum!"

"Do I know you?"

"Where's the bad guys?"

Attack:

"Ah-hyuck!"

"Whaddya know?"

"I don't like violence!"

"I slipped, sorry!"

Damage:

"Gawrsh!"

"Hoo hoo hoo hoo!"

"Golly!"

"Gee whiz!"

Victory:

"Aw, shucks! It was a fluke!"

"That'll teach you to take me sery- siriou- serrily- Y'know! To not mock me!"

"Now be on your way and I'll be on mine, 'kay?"

"Sorry, but I'm doing my job!"

Defeat:

"This actually happens to me a lot."

"Oboy, if Maxie could see me!"

"Ooooo! The pretty colors..."

"I have a bump on my head now!"

Defeat by Noble Phantasm:

"Yaaaaaaa-hoo-hoo-hoo-hooey!"

Noble Phantasm Activation:

Shielder just calls the names of his shields out. Listen, I'm not going to list them again.

Extra Dialogue:

"M-Maleficent! Oboy, and right when Sora's not around too!" (When you have Caster Maleficent).

"Tarzan! It's been a long time, ol' pal! Hyuk! Say, what didyer do to your hair?" (When you have Lancer Tarzan).

"Uncle Scrooge! Nice ta see you too, Uncle! Donald? No, I ain't seen him lately. Why?" (When you have Lancer Scrooge McDuck).

Birthday: "Happy birthday! But, have you thought of changing it to an unbirthday? Didja know we only have one birthday but 364? Seriously! They told me in Wonderland!"

Event: "Hyuk, hyuk! It sounds like they're having a lot of fun there!"

Holy Grail: "How do you even make this thingamabob work? Whoops! I think I broke it, sorry..."
