Daughter of Black

Chapter 2

Petunia Dawn Dursley looked at the men as if they had ripped out their wands right there and started doing a full-fledged magic show for the entire neighborhood to see. "Come inside quickly, before the neighbors see you." She hissed, looking around to see if anyone was watching.

She recognized the old man as the headmaster of the school Lily had gone to. She refused to even think of the name, as it left a bad taste in her mouth.

Sirius had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach as he walked through the hallway, and into the kitchen. Those feelings quickly turned to rage when he saw his little girl at the stove, sporting a large purple and yellow bruise over half of her face. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY BABY DURSLEY?!" Sirius shouted, his face turning red with rage boiling inside.

At this point, Albus stepped in to calm the man down. He had lost the annoying sparkle in his eye though. Now the old man had a very serious look on his face as he turned to the Dursley's.

"I left these children with you in the hopes that you would take care of and love them like you love your own child. Instead, you have abused them and made them feel like slaves in the only home they have ever known. We are taking them with us now, and you should expect a couple of aurors to come and arrest you two. Don't bother running, as I have put a trace on both of you and we will be able to find you. You better find some family for young Dudley to stay." By the time Dumbledore finished speaking, the Dursleys looked like they had each swallowed a lemon.

Sirius looked at Harry and Lizzie. "Do you two want to come stay with me?" he asked nervously. The kids looked at each other, and grinned. Finally, they could leave the Dursley's once and for all. When told to go get their things, the kids ran off to their individual cupboards, and grabbed their things.

Sirius' face got red once more when he saw the small dirty mattress stuffed in the cupboard under the stairs, and a small, ragged blue blanket with the name Harry embroidered on the corner. The Dursleys started to quiver in fear when the animagi looked back at them, shooting fire from his eyes. To his credit, Sirius held himself from attacking the muggles, and instead he just glared menacingly.

The kids returned around two minutes later, each carrying a small grocery bag with barely anything in them. "Were ready sirs." Elizabeth said, still grinning ear to ear. The two men stood, and took their leave, the children close behind. "This is going to be fun." Said Harry excitedly. "That it is, My boy." Said Dumbledore, the twinkle coming back once more.

The four made their way over to Ms. Figgs house where they were to floo to Hogwarts. The children had no idea what that meant, but they didn't dare ask questions for fear of retribution. Ms. Figg opened the door when they arrived and led them over to the crackling fire.

Harry didn't like to use the floo, as it made him dizzy. Elizabeth, however, loved that particular mode of transportation. All too quickly the ride ended, and they landed in a red and gold room. "Welcome to Hogwarts." Said Dumbledore once they were all accounted for. "First, we need to take you two to the hospital wing for a check-up. There's no telling what kind of damage the Muggles did to you in the last six years. Said Sirius, a scowl firmly in place. Again, the children nodded, and followed the man obediently. The walk took what felt like forever, and the kids were out of breath by the time they reached the hospital wing. But they really enjoyed walking through a real-life castle.

"What is this place?" asked Lizzy, awe and wonder in her eyes. "This is Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It's a school for magic." Sirius said to his 'Baby Girl'. "Magic isn't real." Said Harry matter-of-factly while he pulled himself up on the large bed in the hospital wing. Sirius was about to answer when Madam Pomphrey strolled through the double doors.

"Merlin's Mustache." She gasped when she saw Harry and Lizzy. Sirius snorted, quite loudly. The matron chose to ignore him, and instead, she continued to talk to the kids.

"I haven't seen you two since that horrible night all those years ago." She had tears in her eyes at this point. "I remember your mothers. They worked for me here in the infirmary." She wiped away a tear that had rolled down her face. "What did they look like?" Harry asked, emotion filling his little voice. She smiled. Your mother, Harry, was a beautiful girl with red hair, freckles and green almond shaped eyes. And she had a smile that would light up the whole world." Said the matron proudly.

"And your mother, Elizabeth, was tall, with raven black hair, and icy blue eyes. She was also a spitfire. I can't tell you how many times Mr. Black has been in the infirmary because of her famous right hook." Said the matron wistfully. Sirius flinched and rubbed his shoulder, remembering the broken arm Mary gave him when she caught Marline McKinnon throwing herself at him at the baby shower.

"Alright now, let's do a diagnostic spell shall we." Said the matron.
