Hey guys and gals CMBasher7 here with another chapter in The Portal Master of Zero, this here will be the aftermath of Guiche and Yu's duel, where Yu had waken up from the battle.

As you all know I don't own anything from either series and they belong to their respective companies.

Two days later...

The warmth of a bright light was felt upon skin, making Yu moan and open his eyes.

"Where...?"

Quickly taking note that his shirt and hoodie were missing, outside of his aviator goggles and pants, and that his body felt stiff, the Portal Master quickly realized that he was in a bed. This one was much softer and larger than the hat bed he slept in last night. Plus, the blankets and pillows were not as itchy and there looked to be some sort of in-bed tapestry hovering above him. Sitting himself upright, Yu looked around and saw he was in what seemed to be some sort of bedroom, more specifically he was in Louise's bed. He also noticed he was covered in bandage wraps, mostly around his shoulder and waist. And surrounding him was Spyro, Stealth Elf, Trigger Happy, and Chop Chop.

Before he could figure out what was going, on the sound of a door opening caught his ear. Turning to the noise he saw Siesta walking through the door to his right while carrying a tray of food and water. The moment she caught sight of Yu, she froze, letting out a small gasp before smiling widely.

"Hiro-san! You're awake!" The maid said pleased as she placed the tray on a table and rushed over to the boy. "Thank goodness. I was wondering how long it would take."

"Just woke up now, actually." Yu said while rubbing his head.

"I see. How are you feeling? You're not in any pain still are you?"

"I'm fine, I think. What happened? Where am I, Siesta?"

Siesta paused in her excitement. "Oh, right. Well after you won the duel against Mister Gramont, you suddenly passed out. We were really worried because you wouldn't wake up even though you were completely fine and had no injuries to speak of. That was nearly two days ago."

Her words seemed to click with Yu, as he felt his memories resurface, remembering the events of the duel and him blacking out after it was finished.

'I did feel a sharp pain after I had summoned Trigger Happy, Stealth Elf, Chop Chop, and Spyro. Could there be a mental limit to how many Skylanders I can summon at a time?' Yu mentally questioned if he had an actual limit to summoning Skylanders. 'I wonder, does summoning more Skylanders put me into a short coma for my safety?'

"How are you doing?" Stealth Elf questioned as she placed a worried hand on the Portal Master's arm.

"It would be a shame if you had passed away so suddenly." Chop Chop said, but it was hard to tell if he was being sarcastic or not with his expressionless helmet.

"As for where you are, Miss Vallière offered to take you into her room until you awoke." Siesta said as she looked to her left.

Making Yu follow her motion and spot Louise's form also in the room. The pink-haired noble was sitting in a chair and resting her head on a desk as she slept silently. He was surprised he didn't see her sooner. What he didn't expect was how cute and peaceful she looked while asleep.

"I'm glad." The comment caught Yu's attention as Siesta spoke again. "She's been refusing to sleep the whole time, saying that she wouldn't let anyone touch or disturb you. That she would be the one to watch over you until you awoke. She was quite stubborn about it. She even had to get a teacher to cast a spell of healing on you too. It was quite serious."

"S-She did?" Portal Master questioned.

"Yes. Miss Vallière paid for the reagent that was required for the healing spell, so don't be concerned about it." Siesta told Yu that Louise had paid for the healing spell to help Yu.

Yu looked back at the chibi noble with curiosity. Had Louise really done such a thing while he was unconscious? It sounded almost unbelievable to him, and yet as he looked over her sleeping form, for some reason he knew with complete certainty that it wasn't a complete lie.

"Did she do this too?" He asked, motioning to his wrappings.

"Yes." Siesta nodded. "She changed all the bandages and wiped the sweat from your face. I offered to assist but she refused, so she probably exhausted herself."

Yu gave a light-hearted chuckle. "Guess even she can be nice when she wants."

"Umm, Hiro-san?" The boy turned to Siesta once more as she looked down nervously. "About... about what you did at the Vestri Court…"

Yu was confused for a moment until he realized what Siesta was referring too, mentally cursing as he did. She had seen him use his powers. Heck, everyone had seen him use his powers to summon EIGHT Skylanders! Consequences of his actions be damned, Siesta probably thought he had lied about not being a noble and was just toying with her or something.

"Siesta, look, that wasn't-"

"It was amazing!" Yu suddenly stopped as Siesta looked at him, her eyes sparkling brightly and her face full of admiration. "What you did against Mister Gramont, it was amazing! I've never seen anyone so strong or determined before! Even when you kept getting knocked down, you never gave up. You kept pushing forward and fighting against all odds. It scared me, and at times I wanted it to stop, but at the same time, I couldn't stop watching you. Because no matter what happened, despite how much I feared for your life, you kept giving me hope that you would still win."

"Y-You... You're not upset?" Yu slowly questioned.

Siesta tilted her head. "Upset?"

"I mean…you saw what I did out there. How I won that Duel. How I summoned my Skylanders. Aren't you...mad at me?"

Realizing what he was thinking, Siesta lowered her gaze. The two sat in silence for a moment, neither uttering a single word until the raven-haired beauty finally spoke. "Are you a noble?"

Yu shook his head. "I'm technically not. But wh-"

"Was what you did magic?"

"No but-"

"Then what's the problem?"

Yu' voice caught in his throat as Siesta smiled at him with a kind smile.

"I may not understand everything that happened in that duel, but if you say that you're not a noble and that what you did wasn't magic, then I'll believe you. Even though everybody else will think otherwise and has been going crazy over your actions, I won't. Because to me it doesn't matter. Because Hiro-San is still Hiro-San." Siesta's cheeks colored red and the smile on her face only seemed to grow more beautiful. "And... I'm happy I got to meet someone like you."

"Uh..." Yu felt his cheeks warm slightly before quickly shaking it off. The heck was that just now? As he pondered about the odd feeling as Siesta got up from her spot and bowed.

"I'd like to talk more but I'm afraid I must be going now. But I'll be sure to come by and check on you again real soon. So please take care until then, Hiro-San."

"See ya later, Siesta." Spyro said with a wave of his wing.

"W-Wait!" Yu called out as Siesta turned and left, though not before giving one last smile to him. Once the door closed behind her the Duelist sighed and scratched the back of his head. "What the heck was that all about?"

"Mmmph?"

Yu blinked at the noise and looked over to see Louise stir in her sleep. The tiny noble's eyelids opened a moment later. She pushed herself up lazily and yawned as she rubbed her eyes. Yu couldn't help but smirk at the action.

"Sleep well enough, pinky?"

Louise jumped at the voice and snapped her head to the source, becoming fully awake by it. "Y-You're up!"

"Yeah, and you're still loud," Yu muttered back. Seriously he had just woken up. He didn't need shouting this early. "Stealth Elf, Trigger Happy, Chop Chop, Return."

And soon, the three names he mentioned disappeared into a flash of light. Leaving only Spyro left in the room.

Louise ignored the previous remark and approached Yu. "How do you feel? Are you still hurt? Do you remember-?"

"I just went through this with Siesta a moment ago and don't need it again, but thank you." Yu cut her off. "I'm perfectly fine. Just a bit sore is all. Also Siesta explained what happened since I passed out, so you don't need to do so."

"O-Oh. I see..."

The two didn't say anything further. Yu just waited and watched Louise, who seemed to find the floorboard far more interesting to look at than his color-shifting eyes.

"Is... is it true?" Louise said after a minute or so.

"Huh?"

"T-That you're a noble." Louise specified, her body shaking as she clenched her fist and seemingly forgetting that Yu was technically not a noble. "Is it true? Were you just hiding it the whole time? W-Were you just trying to show how much better you are than everyone? That you-"

"LOUISE!"

Louise stayed silent once Yu shouted her name.

"Look, I don't know what everyone has been saying about me, but despite whatever you've heard, I'm not a noble, alright? I'm a Portal Master, remember? What you saw back there wasn't magic. It was… well, it's a bit hard to explain to someone like you-"

"Not really, I told her when you first summoned me." Spyro suddenly said. But Yu just looked at the dragon with a deadpanned expression. "I'll be quiet now."

"Anyways, I didn't even know anything about nobles or commoners before I came to this place so how could I possibly be one of them?" Yu questioned Louise why he would be a noble if he didn't know anything about her world.

Louise saw the reasoning behind his words but seemed uncertain. "Y-Yeah, but-"

"You heard what I said that day didn't you? I hate the nobles and how things work here. Why would I ever want to be one of them?" The question was one even Louise couldn't deny, given all she had seen and heard from the Portal Master.

"If I was one of you guys, I wouldn't have had a reason to duel on that day like I did. But I did so because I couldn't stand how things worked and wanted to put that two-timer in his place." Yu voice lightened up towards the end and his gaze softened. "I am not lying, Louise, I swear."

Louise didn't say anything. Instead she carefully observed Yu's face, looking for any signs of deceit from him. Any hint that he was hiding the truth or something from her or was just going to make fun of her like everybody else did.

But she saw nothing. Nothing at all to indicate that he was lying to her. Every word he said seemed to be absolute truth.

And for some reason that made her heart race.

"You really mean it?" She asked.

"I do." Yu replied.

"Really?"

"Yes."

Louise turned her head to the side to hide the strange warmth in her cheeks from the Portal Master. "A-Alright then. If… if you're the one saying it then… I'll trust you for now… Yu."

The young Portal Master sighed in relief and smiled. Finally, it looked like things were starting to turn out-

"But I still want answers!" Louise suddenly shouted, snapping back around and boring into Yu's face with a demanding stare. His smile immediately dropped and his eye gave a slight twitch and changed to a rotting grey.

Dammit, it was too good to be true.

Louise didn't notice the reaction as she slammed her hands on the bed and looked him dead in the eyes. "I want to know everything about Skylands, I want to know it's history, it's inhabitants, I want to know everything you know about it and right now."

Yu stared at Louise. Louise stared right back and waited for an answer from him.

"I refuse."

Louise blinked. "Huh?"

Yu rolled his eyes as he laid back down on the bed and pulled the sheets over his head. "I'm too damn tired as it is, and frankly it's too early for this shit."

"H-Hey! Wait a second, Yu!" Louise shouted as she shook him.

"If I feel in the mood, later maybe I'll feel like sharing. For now though..." Yu waved a hand lazily as if motioning for her to leave.

"You can't just ignore me like this! Yu Hiro!"

"I think I just did."

Louise growled and tried pulling the sheets off but could feel them being held firmly in place. "W-Who do you think took care of you while you were out, huh!? Whose bed do you think you're laying in!? You owe me answers!"

"So noisy." Yu grumbled. "I don't owe you anything. It's not like I asked you to do this in the first place anyways. Besides, I'm not your familiar, remember? I don't have to do a thing you say."

Louise's grip on the sheets ceased, her eyes full of shock. "B-But at the duel! What you said to Guiche. W-What you said about-"

"Doesn't mean I'm gonna be your pet. I hate the nobles. And last I checked, you're still a noble. Granted, you're not nearly as stupid or bad as that Guiche guy, but that doesn't mean I'm going to do whatever you ask now just because you gave a few nice words. Just let me sleep for now and I promise I'll tell you later, alright?"

Louise backed away from the bed, making Yu think she had finally given up. Unfortunately for him, unseen by Yu, Louise's head hung in a dangerous fashion as her pink hair shadowed her eyes and she began shaking.

"... You..." She whispered.

"Now that would be my time to get out of here." Spyro said as he took to the air and flew out the window in a hurry, panic clear in his eyes.

"Hmm? What now?"

"Do you know how e-e-embarrassing that was to me? D-D-Do you know how much of my pride I had to throw away?" Louise's shaking grew fiercer. "Do you have any idea how w-w-worried I felt or how much suffering I had to go through because of you!?"

"Louise?" Yu's head emerged from the sheets to look at the pinkette, a feeling of unease beginning to stir in his gut.

"I was so scared. I was so a-a-afraid. But you still defended me. You h-h-helped me. And yet, even now, after everything that happened. Everything you said. Everything I s-s-s-said, you still act like a rude and disrespectful dog, AND PRETEND IT NEVER HAPPENED!?"

"O-Oy! Calm down, Loui-"

"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!? YOU IDIOT!"

All throughout and around the Tristain Academy of Magic, every single student, teacher, and staff member jumped up in fright as a large explosion suddenly shook the entire school.

We then zoom high above the clouds over Halkeginia, where we see what looks like a familiar boat made of metal flying through the clouds, smoke billowing out of it's pipes.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!" Three screams were heard as the ship was beginning to crash land into a forest, one female, one male, and the last one very girlish.

Soon after, we see three figures all reaching the main deck of the metal boat, all of them were shrouded in the thick dusty smoke that was emulating from their crash. We then see the tallish male figure scream out in fear as he rushes off of the ship and towards a broken propeller.

"Oh, my baby! Don't worry, we'll get you fixed soon, my darling. Now then, are you sure this is the place?" A charming male voice called out as he spun a broken propeller on the metal ship. He could be seen wearing a aviators helmet and goggles.

"If I'm reading these calculations correctly, then yes." A scared timid voice said, he was short and appeared to have a large book on his back.

"This isn't going to be easy." A female voice said, her figure could be seen wearing a red scarf.

"I know, but we must find the Portal Master for the sakes of both Skylands and this world."

And that's the end of that chapter, and before you guys say anything, I couldn't think of anything for the duel nor the aftermath for these two chapters, so I had to use the fanfiction, "Barian of the Void" Chapter 10 and 11 by TrueHeartKnight, to help me out since I couldn't think of a sound reason and because I was lazy.

After these two chapters will be all original chapters following the anime in my own way, hopefully.

Anyway, this is CMBasher7 signing out.
