King Andrias greatly enjoys a peaceful afternoon in the city of Newtopia. One of his favorite hobbies are getting cozy in his pajamas and reading a newspaper while drinking coffee and lounging on his insect like throne.

He is then startled by the sounds of laughter, coming from a boy and a girl specifically.

"C'mon, Lady Olivia, there's a whole castle for us to explore!" the girl voice exclaims in excitement.

"Yeah, I've never seen a castle this huge before!" the boy voice adds.

The king looks to see Lady Olivia panting at the doors on the throne room, along with two teenagers: a boy with spiky brown hair and a girl with short black hair, who also has a cast on her left leg.

The pair glance up and gasp as their eyes light up in amazement. Sheer amazement as they gaze upon none other than the monarch himself.

He's huge to say the least, much bigger than Sora has expected, so much so that Mickey would look like an ant compared to him. His skin is a pale purplish blue color, light grey hair that mostly flows in a long beard, and a simple beige crown on his head.

Sora and Marcy can tell by just looking at him that he's the essential ruler of this world, his appearance clearly screaming the title of king.

Andrias reacts by putting down his newspaper and removing his pink glasses, shock still planted on his face as if he's trying to make sure what he's seeing is real.

"King Andrias." Olivia announces as she and the pair walk closer to him. "I present to you the creatures known as Sora and Marcy Wu."

"Hey there, your majesty." Sora approaches him with a smile on his face.

"So you're the king of Newtopia?" Marcy asks him in curiosity. "Man, you're huge!"

"You're telling me, I honestly thought he'd be smaller, but it's still amazing." Sora adds as he crosses his arms. "So, you're Andrias, right?"

"Can we call you Drias?" Marcy asks with a smirk, the king still stuck in shock.

"Woah, yeah, that's a great nickname!" Sora replies excitedly.

"I know right?" Marcy chuckles.

The king looks at his glasses with solemn in his eyes. "Only one person ever called me that." he whispers softly.

"Oh… uh sorry, too personal…? Uh, h-how about we change the subject?" Sora nervously asks, rubbing the back of his neck.

Yeah, let's do that, boundaries, Marcy, boundaries." Marcy whispers to herself cautiously. "Y'know, I bet we can both fit in your pocket!" she suggests.

"Ooh, why don't we try it out?" Sora adds as he and Marcy shake in excitement.

"What?" Olivia mutters, utter anxiety filling every inch of her face.

Andrias looks down at the pair as they climb up to his lap, over his shoulder, and dive right into the pocket of his pink robe, their heads popping up as they chuckle.

"New it." Marcy comments as she and Sora high five. "Ooh, I just thought of something." she then pulls out a tiny golden cubic figure, placing it on Andrias's collar.

"Oh, I've got something, too." Sora pulls out a pink shell charm, the same one Kairi gave him. "Hope she doesn't mind." he mutters as he places the charm next to the tiny gold figure.

"Lil gifts for the king of Newtopia, we hope you like 'em." Marcy chimes as she and Sora look at the king with warm smiles on their faces.

Olivia gulps, her anxiety skyrocketing as too her fear of what Andrias might do next.

However, instead of what she was expecting, he erupts in a feat of laughter, causing the pair to wobble in his pocket. He picks them up and places them on the palm of his hands.

"Indeed I do little master Marcy and great master Sora!" the king says cheerfully.

"Woah, masters? That's one snazzy title!" Sora replies as she puts his hands on his back.

"Are we really masters?!" Marcy gushes. "O. M. G! Anne and Sasha will never believe this, and just wait until we meet Donald and Goofy-" she accidentally walks off of the hand, leading to her falling and Andrias picking her up by the shirt.

"Oh, speaking of which, have you seen any of our friends, your majesty?" Sora asks the king.

"Yeah, we've kinda lost them, and we need to make sure they're okay." Marcy adds while being lift up with a big smile on her face.

"We haven't, but we are looking." Andrias reassures. He's completely aware that's a blatant lie, but he can't bring himself to lower the spirits of these innocent children. "In the meantime, the two of you will be our honored guests here." he puts the pair down. "Lady Olivia will show you to your portals."

"This way, master Sora and Marcy." the royal newt escorts them.

"Sounds like a plan. Bye King Andrias!" Sora says as he waves at the king.

"See ya real soon!" Marcy adds with a wave as well.

The three of them head out of the throne room, leaving Andrias alone. The king glances down at the gifts the pair of teenagers have given him in genuine gratitude.

Suddenly, however, everything around him turns black, a slit orange eye appearing on his crown. He's now in his normal royal attire, looking around anxiously.

He then turns around to see a large set of bright orange eyes, all of them staring directly at him intently. They whisper to him in inaudible murmurs, an order that he's instantly hesitant to follow.

"Kill them? Both of them…? Now?" Andrias asks in a mixture between fear and incredulous. "But we still don't know where the box is. And the other wielders of the weapon aren't here yet."

The eyes draw closer to him, almost yelling at him to do as he's told. "It's true, the old prophecy makes keeping them alive risky, but my lord, they're just children, perhaps all of this is overblown." he pleas to his master, wishing they could find another way through their plans.

They approach him closer, their eyes flashing as they continue to whisper to the king. "What do I propose?" he repeats before walking forward as he thinks. "In studying the ancient ruins," he starts as words in a different language appear in red. "It appears there is a ritual that allows these chosen heroes to give up their abilities and the responsibility that comes with them."

His lord, intrigued, floats to the nonexistent ground below him as he continues his request. "Why not befriend this Sora and Marcy, then use them to lure all of their friends here? We will siphon their powers away, neutralize the prophecy-" before he can continue, he feels a hand on his shoulder.

"And restore our legacy, all in one swoop." he hears a familiar voice behind him. He glances over his shoulder to see his father, Aldrich, with the eyes of his lord, looking down at him. "Well done, Andrias."

Robotic tentacles appear, grabbing Aldrich and whisking him away as he laughs evilly.

One again, Andrias is left alone, holding the seashell charm and tiny gold figure in his palm.

This might be one of the most difficult decisions he ever had to make.

Sora and Marcy continue to trail after lady Olivia to the balcony of the castle, getting a better and clearer view of the whole city of Newtopia.

"What? Holy moly, it's beautiful!" Marcy exclaims as she and Sora take a good look at the city.

"Definitely one of the prettiest I've ever seen!" Sora adds, just as in awe.

"Once, I stood on this very balcony with my mother and had-" before Olivia can finish, Sora interrupts her.

"Woah, what's that over there?" Sora asks as he points to some kind of bird like creature with insectoid features.

"Maybe a seagull but also a bug?" Marcy adds in some context.

"Almost the same reaction." Olivia continues as she explains. "I'm a descendent of a long line of newts who made a sacred vow to take care of this land. The trees, the plants, the animals, all are under our care."

"Doesn't that sound too much to handle on your own, though?" Sora asks her in a worried tone.

"You newts took us both in when we landed here." Marcy continues. "Fixed us up, and cared for us."

"And it only makes sense that we return the favor." Sora says as the pair take each of royal newt's arms. "We'll help too. We promise to take care of this place as much as possible."

Olivia looks at them with a grateful smile on her face. "We'll be counting on the two of you, Master Sora and Marcy."

And with that, several weeks pass, and the pair successfully take on that promise, and another to one day find their missing friends, together.

"Marcy, I still don't get it. What's…infrastructure and architecture?" Sora asks as the pair plan to rebuild and restore the great bridge of Newtopia.

"Oh, glad you asked!" Marcy exclaims as she places her notes and a few blue prints on their working table. "In simple terms, infrastructure is the physical structure of the main operations in any society. Whereas architecture is the art of designing and constructing buildings."

"Yeah, that was not in simple terms." Sora replies, barely understanding what she just said.

"Don't worry, you'll understand soon once we do it ourselves." She says as they begin to work on new ideas for the newts and their already advanced civilization.

"Wait, is that a journal?" Sora asks as he points at the notebook next to Marcy.

"Yep! I always keep it around to takes notes so I won't forget, y'know, important stuff about biology and science and engineering stuff. What, you wanna get one too?"

"No, I was just asking since one of my friends, Jiminy Cricket, keeps a journal too. But they're about the adventures we been too." Sora replies. "I don't need one, though, I've already got a pretty good memory."

"Sure you do, buddy." Marcy counters playfully while lightly punching his arm before the pair officially get started.

Marcy demonstrates the properties of blueprints and their function to Sora, who indeed remembers all of the bits of information she's giving him, much to her surprise.

With that, the pair display their shared plans to the newts of Newtopia, who immediately get to work to constructing the new format of many new buildings and operations for the city's benefit.

"So the context to this bridge and its structure is that it operates with railways and transportation, that way people can get in or leave, right?" Sora says as the pair, along with the construction newts, take a look at the new infrastructure.

"Yep, it's all about the design!" Marcy answers with a proud. "What can I say, infrastructure and architecture are super useful to learn."

Sora smiles before he realizes something. "Great, now you've got me using big words to seem smarter." he teases Marcy.

"That's 'cause you are smarter, you duff!" Marcy playfully protests.

The two continue to laugh, the newts look in confusion, not really understanding their playful banter, but not questioning it either.

"Ta da!" Marcy adds the finishing touches of her new outfit. She and Sora have been recently promoted as chief rangers of the night guard of Newtopia due to them gaining a surprisingly positive reputation in the city, at least it's surprising to Sora.

"Wow, it looks amazing!" the keyblade wielder exclaims as he takes in what she's wearing. A faded blue cape hangs over her shoulders, complete with a furry white collar that's held together by a pink shell. She wears a brown metal chest plate with her light grey t-shirt underneath, paired with a stitched skirt, and grey winter snow boots that are wrapped with studded straps. She wears black fingerless gloves, and her right forearm is a mounted crossbow. Overall, it's a great look for her, especially for her adventurous spirit.

"Oh shucks, thanks!" Marcy says as she slightly blushes. "But enough about me, now it's your turn!"

"Huh?" Sora replies in confusion. "Oh n-no, you don't have to do that, I'm just fine with these clothes-"

"C'mon Sora, it's gonna be fun!" Marcy states as she pushes him into the wardrobe. She immediately gets to work on his new attire, crafting the best set of clothes she can.

"And… done! Here, take a look!" she then takes him to the mirror, and he instantly marvels at his reflection.

He now wears a maroon cape over his shoulders, a furry dark grey collar with his signature silver crown holding it all together. Underneath is a lighter grey, long sleeved shirt, black slacks with multiple red pockets, and pale red shoes with very dark purple inside and black belts. On his hands are fingerless gloves that extend to nearly his elbows, three belts wrapping around each one.

"Wow…" the keyblade wielder looks down at his outfit. "This looks just as amazing!"

"Oh shucks, thanks!" Marcy chuckles. "I measured the size of your clothes and sharped them up a bit to a particular degree of design. And on top of that, we're matching!"

"You've gotta teach me more of those crafting techniques!" Sora exclaims. "Maybe we can make them for our friends, you know."

"Oh…" Marcy chuckles nervously. "Speaking of friends…"

"Is something wrong?" Sora asks her, a worried look on his face.

The girl is hesitant at first before forcing a smile. "I-I'll tell you and Andrias once we see him again."

Sora continues to glance at her, wondering what she wants to say and why she's so anxious about it in the first place. "If you don't wanna talk about it right now, that's fine. Just know that you can trust me with anything, alright?" he says as he puts his hand on her shoulder.

Marcy's smile becomes much more genuine this time as she nods. "Alright. Thanks Sora, you're a great friend."

"Anytime." he replies as the two of them head out to the city, and the new adventures that await them.

The pair of teenagers arrive for another meeting with the king. They weren't surprised considering that they've been to many over the past few months.

"Hey, Andrias!" Sora and Marcy greet the king of Amphibia in the throne room.

"Ah, there you are, my little ones!" Andrias exclaims, seeming to be excited about something the pair don't know about."Just to let you know, today's meeting will be a little different than the rest."

"What do you mean different?" Marcy asks, more curious than ever.

"What I mean is that today is when things will change…" the king answers ominously, leaving Sora and Marcy a little shaken. "Would you two like to be my trusted advisors?" he suddenly perks up.

"Oh, wait, really? You want us to be your advisors?" Sora asks incredulously, surprised that he and Marcy are being given such a rank in the royal court.

"Why of course!" Andrias says happily. "The newts of this kingdom love the work that you both put in to make our society better. And besides, it won't hurt if we get to be pals more often, am I right?"

"No way! First we get to be rangers, now we're getting a job in royalty?!" Marcy exclaims in her usual excitement as she places Sora's hands in hers. "Sora, can you believe this?!"

"Well I can, but it's still pretty cool!" Sora agrees. "Don't worry, Andrias, we'll give you all the help you need. Count on us!"

"Ooh, this is splendid!" Andrias announces before clearing his throat. "I mean, excellent. Thank you Sora and Marcy. I will make sure to send you a message so we can get started."

"On what?" Sora asks in a confused tone.

"Why, sending you and your friends home, of course!"

"Oh yeah… about that…" Marcy mutters nervously. "It's about time I tell you guys about… you know."

"Oh, it's about what really happened, huh?" Sora walks up to her with a worried frown.

"Yes, what is it? You can tell us." Andrias adds, just as understanding.

"I-if I tell you guys, promise not to tell any of our friends, okay? Especially not Anne and Sasha." Marcy whispers the last part out, making sure only Sora and Andrias can hear her.

"We promise." Sora smiles at her.

"Thank you." she sighs a breath of relief as she explains her secret. "Well, the truth is, my friends and I've been transported from another dimension to here." the other two gasp. "Yep, pretty shocking, ain't it? There was a music box, it was called the calamity box, I learned about it at a library. Then… well, I-I got a text from my dad, saying that he found a new job out of state and that we had to move… and I'd have to leave Anne and Sasha…"

"But, you didn't want to leave them, huh?" Sora asks with his tone filled with sympathy.

"Not at all. They're the only friends that I've had and I couldn't imagine what it'd be like without them. So… that's where the box comes in. It said that it can take people to other worlds, and wouldn't you know, it did just that! And now, we're here." Marcy bows her head down as a new wave of shames washes over her. "I want the three of us to be together, forever, to stay as far forever, and to not worry about being separated."

"So you used the box to transfer you three of you here?" Andrias asks in as much sympathy.

Marcy nods. "I didn't want to be alone."

"I know what that's like…" Sora says with a large amount of empathy in his voice. "When I lost Riku and Kairi, I did everything I could to find them again. And when I lost all of them… I felt worthless. But despite all of that, that didn't change that our hearts are connected. It doesn't excuse that you trapped your friends here, though. You really shouldn't have thought that through." Marcy looks down, once again washed with guilt. Sora then places his hands on her shoulders.

"But, hopefully things will still work out between you three. I'm sure that even if you, Anne and Sasha are apart, your hearts will guide you three back to each other."

Marcy smiled, touched by her friend's optimistic words. "You just keep finding ways to cheer me up" she exclaims as she hugs him, leading to him smiling as well.

Andrias hugs the pair as well, scooping them up in his arms. "Oh, what a wonderful sentiment! But don't worry, Marcy, the two of us got you covered."

"Thanks, Andrias!" Marcy chuckles.

"Now, who wants to get rolling?!" the king exclaims loudly as the pair of teenagers laugh, happy to have a good friend on their side.

Or, at least they think they do.

Hey everyone! So this is another fanfic I've been dying to do along with my Nimona Series. And since I binged watched the entirety of Amphibia(and it's amazing, please go watch it if you haven't), I'm more confident in the story I want to tell with this, and I would like to do a little… twist with it too.

I hope you enjoy!
