Alex grabbed a Game Boy Color handheld video game console and inserted the game "Pokémon Red" in the console before connecting an HDMI USB cable to the adapter and connecting it to the screen as a monitor, similar to the ones they have at high schools.

The intro starts with classic Pokémon music as Ash Ketchum appears with a different Pokémon during the intro. Alex pressed "New Game" to start a new game as Professor Oak appears.

Professor Oak (a teleprompter appearing on-screen): Hello there! Welcome to the world of Pokémon! My name is Oak! People call me the Pokémon Professor! A Pokémon, Rhydon, then appears as he is speaking. This world is inhabited by creatures called Pokémon! For some reason, Pokémon are pets. Others use them for battles. Myself… I study Pokémon as a profession.

The image of Rhydon and the teleprompter disappears.

"Ah, Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow. A Nintendo Game Boy classic." 199999-Peter said.

The teleprompter returns.

Oak (through teleprompter): First, what is your name?

Alex used the "New Name" option and typed in "Alex" for first name.

"What's your last name?" Tony asked.

"You don't want to know. You'll make fun of me." Alex said.

"Son, the only one I make fun of are the two 100-year old super soldiers in the back." Tony said, gesturing to Steve and Bucky, who exclaimed, "Hey, we take offense to that!"

"Oh, great they're in monotone. That's super cool!" Tony said sarcastically.

"Edgbert." Alex said

"Wait, your name is Eggbert?" Tony asked.

"No, it's Edgbert, like the wrestler Edge, the 'e' is silent." Alex said. "I desperately want to change it." he added.

"To what?" 199999-Tony asked.

"Deuyour. It's French. I am part French, Irish, and British." Alex added.

Oak (through teleprompter): Right! So your name is Alex! He shows Alex his grandson. This is my grandson. He's been your rival since you were a baby…. Erm, what is his name again? Under the "New Name" option, Alex picks the name "Shaun". That's right! I remember now! His name is Shaun! Shaun disappears as the teleprompter returns. Alex! Your very own Pokémon legend is about to unfold! A world of dreams and adventures with Pokémon awaits! Let's go!

Alex was in his house as he shrinked to miniature size, playing on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).

Teleprompter: Alex is playing the SNES! …Okay! It's time to go out!

"The SNES is nothing compared to the consoles they have nowadays, especially with specs, resolution, graphics, communication, and the ability to play with your friends on the internet." Ned pointed out.

Everybody nodded.

He goes outside and walks in the grass plains, as Oak catches him coming across a sign that reads "Pallet Town" in Japanese kanji and a Pokémon Store.

Oak (through teleprompter): Hey! Wait! Don't go out!

"Why not?" Ash asked.

"Pikachu." Pikachu said. (Translation: That sucks for him.)

"I agree, Pika." Ash said. [1]

Oak catches up to Alex.

Oak (through teleprompter): Wild Pokémon live in tall grass. You need your own Pokémon for your protection. I know! Here, come with me.

Alex follows Oak to the Pokémon Training Facility, where his rival, Shaun is waiting for him.

"Pikachu!" Pikachu exclaimed. (Translation: Shit's about to get wild!)

"Language, there are children present, Pika!" Ash exclaimed.

Shaun (through teleprompter): Gramps! I'm fed up with waiting!

Oak (through teleprompter): Shaun? Let me think… Oh, that's right, I told you to come! Just wait! Here, Alex! There are 3 Pokémon here! Haha! They are inside the Poké Balls! When I was young, I was a serious Pokémon trainer. In my old age, I only have 3 left, but you can have one! Choose one!

Shaun (through teleprompter): Hey, Gramps! What about me?!

Oak (through teleprompter): Shaun, you can have one too! Alex goes to one of the Poké Balls and chooses Squirtle as its info is seen on the bottom text, reading "After birth, its back swells and hardens into a shell. It powerfully sprays foam from its mouth." Okay.So you want the Pokémon, Squirtle? This Pokémon is really powerful.

Teleprompter: Alex received a Squirtle! Do you want to give a nickname to Squirtle. Alex pressed "No".

Shaun walked up to Alex's right side and clicked the Poké Ball next to him.

Shaun (through teleprompter): I'll take this one, then!

"So it's either Charizard or Bulbasaur. I don't know which one, I can't remember." Peter-1 said.

Teleprompter: Shaun received a Bulbasaur!

Alex paused the screen and went to Pokémon and chose Squirtle.

And that's the end of the chapter. In the next chapter, we will go over the first Pokémon battle, where Alex's Squirtle will fight against Shaun's Bulbasaur.
