Phase 4: Pool Assault
The trio grabs their weapons and gear as they exit out of the safe room to go into the dark hallways. They heard moans in the distance. "Right out of a horror movie," Elza said holding onto her shotgun tightly as they carefully moved through the ship.
"We are in horror movies on the job," Jack said dryly as Seung was watching from the cameras to not see them coming out of the save room.
Seung sees they are going toward the pool section. "Time to step it up," he contacts his Undertaker units within the pool section of the ship. "Seek and destroy them. Keep the tall blond intact," he ordered as several Grunts along with a bigger Undertaker called a Heavy wielding an Ameli light machine gun. The troops go into position to block them from going into the area.
The trio is walking through the dark halls with lights flicking out with shadows dancing on the walls. "This ship used to be filled with life and now it's a ghost ship filled with weird soldiers and monsters," Elza said.
"These people had it coming. They screwed with viruses and they got bitten in the ass," Jack said.
"Yeah but still," Rachel said.
"We need to figure out where this ship is coming from and find out their main base of operations within the area," Jack said.
"One step at a time," Rachel said as Elza wondered why she picked that certain rifle.
"Why does a sniper rifle much of this place is the close range?" Elza asked.
"Well, this is a TTS Xceed which is a bullpup rifle. It's compact and accurate for its size," Rachel said as she cocks the bolt back to see if the round is in the chamber.
"Makes sense to me, Rachel is our markswoman," Jack said.
"I am the overwatch of your heart," Rachel said in a cute matter with Elza rolling her eyes at this. They hear barking noises as a pack of Fenrirs comes storming into the hallways.
"Oh crap," Jack said as they open fire on the dog pack to take out a few but the girls gets tackled by the dogs with Jack dodging their lunges. They counterattack by blasting them in the back to kill them off.
Rachel kicks the beast off him and shoots it into the head with her M629 magnum revolver to see its head blow open like a melon. She fires more shots to take out 3 more dogs as Elza rolls into another room to dodge another lunge from the mutant canine.
She fires her FN57 to tear into the head of the dog with a few shots while she takes out another dog in the head with precise shots.
Jack avoids the last incoming Fenrirs as he sticks one with a grenade for the blast and takes out the rest becoming a red mist.
"Impressive, it is expected from high-tier agents of the US government. It's like out of one of your cliché superhero comic books," Seung said through the speakers within the area.
"You must find this amusing huh," Jack said to be on alert.
"Of course, you are within my ship and I won't tolerate your presence here," Seung said.
"This all happened to our reckless actions," Elza said as the man let out a cruel laugh.
"Doesn't matter, they're all useless anyway. It's all part of progress," Seung said.
"You are going to pay for that, all these innocent lives for your sick curiosity," Elza getting worked up but Rachel stops her.
"Don't let him get into your head, he is trying to toss us off our game," Rachel said.
"Your days are numbered; you have no idea about how deep you're in. You were quite beautiful out there Rachel, a real work of art," Seung said to leer at her huge chest.
"Gross, I am taken alright," Rachel said as Jack placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Not for long," Seung said.
"Maybe you can enlighten us on that, what are you planning to do with your secret lab here?" Jack asked.
"Well, that is for you to find out if you are not a corpse in a few minutes," Seung said to flip a switch for more BOWs are coming for them. "If I kill you. The top dog will give me a massive promotion in the ranks," Seung said as everyone looked on with confusion.
"What are you talking about?" Elza asked as Seung enjoyed their cluelessness about the true gravity of the situation they were in.
"It wouldn't matter since you will be dying soon anyway," Seung said to turn off the speakers.
"What was that about?" Ark wondered.
"He likes the sound of his voice," Elza said to be wary like the others about more BOWs showing up. "What is this guy's deal?" Elza asked.
"Yeah, I wonder who is he talking about. The leader of the Connections" Jack said.
"Doubt it. The original leader has been dead for years but the criminal syndicate is based on decentralization which makes it hard to take out the group in a power vacuum," Ark said as they heard groans from a vent nearby.
They see two Aqua Lickers appearing before them as the two new Lickers go after them to climb and bounce off the walls. One of the Aqua Lickers kicks Jack onto the floor with Elza knocking it back with a shotgun blast to fall back.
"You okay Jack?" Elza asked as she fired another buckshot to take down the Aqua Licker.
"I am fine, just shaken," Jack said to get back onto his feet to fire onto a leaping Aqua Licker. The B.O.W. jumps over their heads to shake off the bullets it has just taken. Jack fires single shots from his carbine into the Aqua Licker's head to drop it onto the floor.
Rachel fires precise shots to take out more Aqua Licker coming out of the vents to get in headshots. Rachel switches to her machine pistol to rapid fire to cut into the chest and head of an Aqua Licker.
They manage to push them back as they disappear into the vents as they are disturbed by this new Licker type. "What the hell is this?" Rachel wondered.
"These Lickers are the Beta types but are enhanced with the T-Abyss virus. Look at all these aquatic features which is a trademark of the T-Abyss normally," Jack said as the Licker has gills, fins on its body, and webbed limbs.
"Yeah, things are getting worse," Elza said as they reached the pool area to see weird fleshy blobs on top of the ceilings.
"This place looks very nice to go for a swim," Rachel said.
"This looks familiar," Jack said as they looked at a huge pool to see Abyss Hunter Gamma 1s swimming under the water's surface. "But they look a bit weird," Jack thought as the big frog-like humanoid beast leaped out of the pool to show off its long tongues.
"Oh barnacles," Rachel said as the large beast was charging toward them with its huge mouth and let out a powerful scream.
Jack fires his carbine to put a few shots into its face to make it drop onto the floor. "These things are much tougher than before," Elza said.
"These things were enhanced by the T-Abyss. Making them tougher and faster," Jack said as they went forward to see more Abyss Hunter Gamma 1s clinging to the walls and falling onto the floor. They count two BOWs with one on either side of them to close them off from escaping.
Jack takes the front while Elza and Rachel take the back to open fire with the big frog humanoid monsters moving at fast speeds bouncing around the whole hallway trying to avoid their bullets. They manage to put enough bullets into the bodies to drop them to the floor.
"Well better keep moving and be wary of these Hunter Gamma 1s or you will become frog food," Jack said as they went into the pool area to see a large Abyss Hunter Gamma 2 which is also enhanced by the T-Abyss virus.
"Oh great, this thing," Elza said as she fired buckshots to knock the bipedal creature backward but it kept coming at them.
"Thing is just a mouth with legs," Rachel said as she fired precise shots into its head while she tossed a flame grenade to set the beast on fire. "Oh, seems like they fixed it fire weakness," Rachel not liking this as the beast jumped back into the pool to put out the flames.
It jumps and walks onto the deck to open its huge mouth big enough to fix a grown human in one swoop. "Gee, that T-Abyss does wonders," Elza said as they opened fire on the beast to strike its wide mouth to make it recoil backward.
Rachel tosses a grenade into the mouth of the beast as it swallows it whole. The grenade blast split the bioweapon in half with parts of it floating in the pool coloring the water red. "Spoil the waters," Rachel said.
"Gee the Connections took old Umbrella failures and made them even more dangerous," Rachel said as they are tougher, smarter, and stronger than the old models.
"No kidding," Jack said as they pushed forward to go into another section of the pool section. They spot Undertaker units wielding MPXs, ACE 52s, and KS7s while having backup consisting of Fenrirs and an Undertaker Heavy unit using an Ameli Light Machine Gun and equipped with a damage-resistant armored bodysuit and helmet.
"Those are trained BOWs and they got a Heavy unit. We better be careful," Rachel said as they spread out to get into position with Rachel looking through her rifle's scope and firing the first shot into a Grunt's head to take it down.
The Undertakers are on full alert for the mutant canines to bark at the three DSO agents to go after them without fear as the Heavy pins down Rachel with its machine gun.
Two Fenrirs go after Jack who manages to take one down with a single burst from his SG 553 as he blocks the second one's bite with his gun. The dog backs away to fling the gun into a corner to go after Jack again as he draws out his 10mm pistol to take a couple of shots to put the monster dog down.
"Hush Puppy," Jack quickly takes out the third Fenrir as he rolls out of the path of the lunging dog to put shots into its dog killing it.
Jack tosses a flashbang to blind a squad of grunts with Rachel getting in headshots to finish them off to leave the Heavy left. "We got one more guy left," she said on the radio.
Jack tosses a flashbang to blind the Heavy allowing Rachel to roll onto another piece of cover to escape the line of sight. "Thanks, babe," Rachel said as she switched to her M629 magnum revolver to stun the Fenrir. Elza uses her shotgun to blow off the monster dog's head with blood shooting out of its broken neck slot.
"No problem, we are wearing them down," Jack said as the last Fenrir tried to attack him with a leaping tackle but he kicked it to knock it on its back. Jack drives his knife into its neck and severs it from its head.
Rachel fires her rifle to hit the armored Heavy to only make it angry enough to turn its gun onto her as she goes back into cover. The hail of gunfire is holding back as Elza finds fire grenades to toss them into the Heavy to set the Undertaker on fire.
Its wails of pain echo through the pool area until it falls over to put out the flames. "Yo, you okay?" Elza asked on the radio to put in slugs to put rounds into the blazing Heavy.
"Yeah thanks, E, you are the best," Rachel said as she aimed through the scope of her sniper rifle and saw the Heavy trying to get out of the pool but it's missing its helmet. She puts a single bullet into its head killing it instantly with red filling up the pool.
"Well, that takes care of that," Ark said as Jack went to grab his fallen SG 553 to hold it by the buttstock to see it was covered in infected dog spit.
"Great, I need to drip this in the pool," Jack said going over to the pool and letting his gun wash over in the cool water.
Rachel goes into a room to see a weird key on a table. "This is it, one down and two to go," Rachel said to put it into a pouch.
"Oh well, good job on that. My dear, very impressive out there," Seung said in a loving tone on the speakers. "Don't worry, it will only get harder to grab the next two keys. Good luck with that," Seung said.
"Creep," Rachel said.
"Oh, trust me. I am enjoying watching you move your perfect body," Seung said as he laughed at them.
"You seem to be busy with these new models," Elza said.
"Oh yes, we have been taking old prototypes and giving them new life in our laboratories. There is more where that came from," Seung said.
"You are not getting away with this," Rachel said as the researcher laughed at this.
"I am counting on that my beauty. Have fun with the beasties," Seung said to cut off the speakers in that area.
"Well, at least we are getting close to the lab and destroying it. As well as finding their main base around here," Elza said to finish cleaning her gun.
"Yeah, let's go back to the safe room and regroup on our next move," Jack said as the trio headed back. They manage to recover one of the keys with them getting closer to finding the ship's secret lab.
