Rebel turned toward Benji, grabbed his wrists, and squealed excitedly before anxiously dashing off in the direction of her room to pack. Meanwhile, Benji, much more subdued, shifted to face us and gave an appreciative bow of his own before hurrying after his wife in a much more restrained manner and at a much slower pace than she had exited. "Thank you, again," he had said as he bowed, and I turned toward Ash with a glowing smile, overflowing with gratitude that I was married to a man who valued my sister's happiness so much that he was willing to, on his own accord, insist she take his entire inheritance simply because, in his reality, he'd had a bad dream about her and had accidentally missed her wedding because he was hospitalized. I stroked his arms lengthwise with my hands and leaned forward to kiss him for the first time in what felt like forever. "Are you and Rebel okay?" He asked unexpectedly as he stroked the back of my hand with his thumb. I hadn't told him about the fight we'd had, nor had I thought Rebel and I appeared particularly hostile toward each other. "How did you know something was wrong?" I queried. "I just knew." He shrugged knowledgeably as he looked into my eyes lovingly, completely focused on me alone. Truthfully, I didn't know the answer to his question, I still needed to find out from Rebel herself in order to give him an accurate response. Besides, I wanted to share with her the happy news that I hadn't cheated on Ash since she was the first person I'd expressed my concerns to about possibly doing such a treasonous act. I sighed and leaned my head on Ash's shoulder as I stared straight ahead at the blank wall in front of me. "I should go talk to her," I decided, nodding and rubbing my cheek against his shoulder. "I think that's an excellent idea," he smiled at me as I lifted my head from his shoulder, praising my resolution.
