I skipped up the walk to the monastery. I had just gone out for ice cream, but the others were busy and couldn't come. At least that's what they said. They haven't been doing much with me at all these past few months. But I'm sure they will start including me in things again. At least I hope.

I went to the door and walked in, only to see my fellow ninja standing there waiting for me, all my stuff in front of them in blue bags. I looked at them confused.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Sensei Wu has left for a few month trip. This gives us a chance to do what we have wanted to do for months now." Kai said.

I tilted my head. "Are we going camping or something?"

Cole frowned. "We are kicking you off the team."

Those words rang like gunshots in my head.

"W-What? W-why?" I gasped.

"Because we don't like you. You are always talking, and are just annoying." Zane rolled his eyes.

"B-but that's hardly a r-reason to-"

"Our decision is final." Lloyd cut him off.

Cole and Kai shoved Jay's luggage into his hands and shoved him tripping out the walls protecting the monastery, slamming it into his face. Jay tripped and fell, almost falling off the mountain and down the stairs. He slowly made his way down the mountain, fighting back tears the whole way. He half expected one of the ninja to come jumping out and yell "Pranked You!" but another part of him knew it wasn't going to happen.

Finally he made it to the bottom of the mountain. He looked at the mountain one more time, before walking away, not looking back again.

/a few hours later/

It started raining about an hour ago. It started as a light drizzle, but now it was pouring. He was soaking wet, and sitting under a tree that was in the middle of a park that had tons of trees and grass. The trees gave little cover and he was still being drenched, but he needed to sit down. He had been walking for hours. He was thankful that Wu had decided to make sure all of their suitcases and backpacks were water proof so his things wouldn't be ruined, plus he could change into dry clothes when it stopped raining if he found a public bathroom or something.

Jay leaned back against the tree, closing his eyes and letting the rain freely fall on his face. He was going to get a cold after this he was sure. His ankle throbbed where he had slipped because of all the water and twisted his ankle. He had propped it up with his backpack, keeping it elevated. He sighed, then sneezed when water got up his nose. He kept his eyes closed as he curled his arms around his torso and shivered from the cold. He pressed harder against the tree, as if it would offer more protection from the cold rain. He wished the rain would just stop. He wanted to be in warm dry clothes curled up in his bed. He wanted some hot cocoa. He wanted- He wanted a lot of things, but he knew he wouldn't get them. He squeezed his eyes harder when the rain started pouring harder. He shivered more violently.

Suddenly, the rain stopped. No, it didn't stop, he could still hear it pouring down, but the rain wasn't hammering against his face anymore, though he could still feel his leg being soaked. He pried his eyes open to see what had stopped the flow of water on his face.

Standing next to him, on his left, was a man, who was holding an umbrella over Jay, and getting soaked in the process. Jay didn't know what to say or do, but thankfully the man spoke first.

"Well? Are you going to get up?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

Jay leaned forward so he wasn't slowching but sitting straight up. "W-who are you?"

The man grinned. "Well it looks to me like I'm your rescuer." He held out his hand for Jay to grab onto.

Jay hesitated, knowing that he didn't know the man, and was in no position to fight. He sighed. If the man had wanted to kill him, he probably already would have done so. And it wasn't like he had any other choices. He slowly grabbed the stranger's hand. The stranger pulled him up, but Jay stumbled because of his ankle. The stranger barely caught him, holding Jay to his chest.

"Careful." He said. He shifted Jay so he was on Jay's right, where his hurt ankle was, so he could support him. The stranger looked at the things Jay had, which were a backpack, which Jay had on his shoulders, and a suitcase, which the stranger grabbed. Jay was leaning heavily on the stranger, his right leg throbbing in pain, and his left leg and foot were very sore. He almost fell twice, and the third time, he almost fell, the stranger stopped.

The stranger made sure Jay was balanced on his left leg, and handed Jay his suitcase. Jay worried that the stranger was leaving him, but instead, before Jay could react, the stranger picked Jay up bridal style. The umbrella had been put away because they were both already soaked, so after the stranger had picked Jay up, he started walking again.

"W-what-" Jay started but was cut off by the stranger.

"Shh. Don't talk right now. I'm taking you to my house where you will be safe."

Jay hadn't realized how tired he was, and soon he was asleep.
