A poem by Mark S. Briggs about Chess player Magnus Carlsen. Written 2023 A.D. in the year he relinquished the World Chess Championship title.
C stands for Carlsen, the Maggie
C stands for Carlsen, the Maggie, alright
C stands for Carlsen, the Maggie
We know that Maggie has Swaggie
Yeah
Maggie will get you with his mind daggie
Hey!
Maggie has it all in the baggie
C stands for Carlsen, the Maggie.
Maggie has a Bishop that goes zig zaggy
He can make his opponent's clock flaggie
Their clothes really go saggie
The inexperienced are becoming a naggie yet,
C stands for Carlsen, the Maggie
Maggie has swaggie
Maggie will get you with his mind daggie
Because Maggie has it all in the baggie
The chess players walk to their boards down the aisle
They know how to play chess is style
The games they play will likely last awhile
From when they learned how to move things in rank and file
Maggie is not in denial
Because he keeps a high profile
That's Carlsen, the Maggie.
His opponent's clocks go flaggie
His Queen also going zig zaggie
He opponents can fall back in a staggie
There is no doubt it will be done
From our man-Carlsen, the One.
C stands for Carlsen, the Maggie
C stands for Carlsen, the Maggie
Maggie has swaggie
Maggie will get you with his mind daggie
Because Maggie has it all in the baggie
The man is not a crook
Beware of that piece he took
He uses his King, Queen, Bishop, Knight, and pawn
But never forget about...the Rook!
C stands for Carlsen, the Maggie
Carlsen chess master, worries about the other that is also grand
Over the board is where they will make a stand
The game of sixty-four squares is there number one brand
When it's over both of them will hold out a hand
That's the plan
C stands for Carlsen, the Maggie
Maggie has swaggie
Maggie will get you with his mind daggie
Maggie has it all in the baggie
Remember-C stands for Carlsen, the Maggie.
End of poem.
