This One Shot was supposed to be a multi-chapter fic but my notes and ideas weren't enough to justify a longer fic. Maybe if I had written it from Astrid's and Hiccup's point of view, and of a few more characters, but I really wanted to write it like this.

Well,I hope you enjoy this retelling of Shakespeare's midsummer Night Dream set in the How to train your Dragon universe narrated by Loki.

Feel free to leave constructive criticism. I strive to become a better writer.

Ciao for now,

ABSOLuteOG

I am screwed. I've done a lot in my long live, I am the god of mischief after all, but it is rare that I stand in front of Odin, it what could be considered a court hearing. Not to mention that the Avengers and Peter Parker watch. I look at Odin and ask, "We both know I do a lot of bad things, why am I here?" I can see how Stark smirks, he enjoys when I suffer. The feeling is mutual.

He sighs and explains annoyed, "Freyja and the Norns told me that you traveled to a realm and interfered with the relationships of mortals. Not to mention, you risked a prophecy of the Norns."

"Oh, that.", I answer. "I did not plan to do this! I swear! It was an accident!"

"Oh, you accidentally stole one of my love potions?", asks Freyja. "That I don't laugh, Loki!"

"Brother, you know not to touch her potions.", says Thor disappointed.

"Before I punish you, I want to hear all the events from you.", demands Odin.

"And if I don't want to?", I asked.

"I asked Freyja to place a truth telling curse on you, with the help of Dr. Strange.", explained Odin, "Both complied happily. They placed it when you walked into the hall."

"Of course Freyja complied. So, you want I tell you from this? Okay, not like I have a choice, I suppose. Well, everything started when I paid the Norns a visit out of Boredom-"

"I sometimes wonder if Boredom is your motivation for everything.", says one of the Norns, interrupting me. The Norns are three goddesses, self proclaimed guardians of fate and destiny. According to these three women, destiny is pre-written and difficult to change.

"Anyway, while visiting them, the three were excited about something. I of course asked why, as it is rare that the Norns are so excited about anything. They told me that the war between dragons and vikings in a different realm will end soon, I assume you know which realm?", I tell Odin, adding a little question.

"Of course I know of that realm! They actively worship us."

"God complex.", mutters Stark.

"Mr. Stark! Aren't you a bit rude?", asks him Peter Parker. "Wait, dragons?"

"Dragons are real in that realm, young Parker. The vikings of that realm are at war with them for three centuries.", explains one of the Norns to him, "But we got a vision of a child who will end the war. A viking who befriends a dragon!"

A second Norn adds, "Something Loki nearly ruined."

"So cool...", whispers Parker. Maybe I show him a dragon, his reaction will be golden.

"Where was I? Well, after they told be, I was curious how that would progress. Dragons and vikings of that realm slaughtered each others for centuries, so I was admittedly skeptical this could happen despite what the Norns claimed. So I decided to pay that realm a visit and see for myself.", I explain to the all father. "After the third Norn told me who the viking in question is, I started to track him down. It was pretty easy, the kid was a magnet of destruction. Well, I was watching him for a bit. Hiccup – a punishment of a name even for their standards – despite being the heir to his tribe was really the black sheep of that island. And their blacksmith's apprentice. I lost track of time just watching him while being invisible, great handiwork.

"Anyway, while I watched Hiccup working, a girl came to the forge. A blonde shield maiden, anger issues, named Astrid Hofferson. She also watched him for a bit. She seemed to have a crush on the kid, but she acted as if she hated him. Well, the girl asked him to fix her ax and, well, Hiccup said to her, 'Seriously, again? Maybe I should make you a new ax entirely.' Apparently she asks for repairs a lot. Astrid answered she won't mind a new ax.", I explain. Their interactions were somewhat cute, if the blonde won't be as bipolar as my one ex. "Like I said she seemed to act as if she hates him.

"While he worked on her ax, she said, "You're pretty good at forging." Astrid then shook her head and added,'Well, you have to be good at something, useless.' As if she caught herself into something she didn't mean to say, like a compliment. After she got her fixed ax, Hiccup walked into the forest and I followed him. There I saw him interacting with a Night Fury. It was quite surreal to watch, as the vikings of that realm are normally very afraid of these dragons in particular. If you ignore that Night Furies are nearly extinct."

"Do we need to hear about you stalking kids and their love drama?", asks Stark annoyed.

"Mr. Stark! Please stop interrupting this!", demands his assistant or whatever he is for Stark. He rarely demands or even asks his mentor for anything. Maybe I get him to yell at Stark by the end of this! Or make him drop his politeness when he talks to Stark. "The Norns said this Hiccup relates to the prophecy Mr. Loki nearly ruined, so I suppose it is important. Not to mention, Miss Freyja is the goddess of love, right? If she is included in this, so I assume their love drama is important as well."

"The kid is right, Stark. But you can leave if you want.", I tell him. "

"Oh, no! I enjoy seeing you getting in trouble, so I stay and watch.", he states.

"Fine, now where was I? While I spied on Hiccup, I felt sympathy for him, like I can relate to him, hence why I kept an eye on him the whole time. Well, because of this, I decided to help him. I got the feeling he liked this Astrid girl as well, so I, um, broke into Freyja's domain and took one of her love potions, a powder one. I do not deny that part, that I stole it.", I admit. Freyja seems surprised that I just admit that. "I wanted to kick start his relationship with Astrid, but as the potion only works when two people see each other, I was unsure when to apply it. But that plan seemed to be cursed from the start. As I returned to Hiccup from Freyja's domain, I saw he met a girl, Heather, who also tamed a dragon. A Razorwhip, I think. Well, even a blind person could see these two got along very well."

"Can confirm.", says Freyja while laughing. "Well, not anymore..." And now she looks at me angrily. To be fair, it is my fault.

"Honestly, I should have seen it coming that two dragon riders get along well. I admit, they were cute together – and probably a better match than Astrid and Hiccup – why didn't I stop playing match maker? Well, while watching them, I discovered that they were spied by someone else as well. A pair of twins, both surprisingly not caring that Hiccup and Heather tame dragons. I then paid some attention to these two. I overheard they won't reveal Hiccup's secret dragon training to their chief, in fact they seemed to be interested in riding dragons themselves.", I explain. Then I remember something, "For a bit, I had the feeling these two can see me... anyway, the sister seems to – what did Parker call it – 'ship' Hiccup and Heather? She wanted that they get together. Like I said, anyone would see they are a good match."

"Yet you interfered and tried to use the potion on him and Astrid.", says Freyja annoyed. "You're more blind than a blind person, Loki."

"I start to think you're right, Freyja. Well, wait, Norns, was Heather supposed to be there?", I ask the three oracles.

"This is not your business.", says one of the Norns, "We told you enough, a mistake that was."

"Loki, please continue.", demands Odin.

"When Heather left, I followed Hiccup to his home, as I wanted to reveal myself to the dragon rider. Well, when he sneaked in, he walked straight into his father Stoic, Astrid and her parents. Stoic ignored the fact his son felt the need to just sneak in, and just casually announced that Hiccup is now betrothed to Astrid. The goal being that Astrid helps him being a good chief. Well, Hiccup wasn't happy about this – understandably – and asked why not just make his cousin the heir and let him marry Astrid. Apparently his cousin is interested in the Hofferson girl? Now Astrid was against this prospect – in hindsight I understand why – to which Hiccup told her, 'Oh please, you hate me more than you do Snotloud.' Another terrible name. Astrid seemed to want to say something, but she didn't.

"Stoic told him he'll marry Astrid if he likes it or not. Following that, Hiccup just left, royally pissed. Do I need to mention that I followed him? Well, Hiccup walked into that Snotloud. He yelled at him to save the insult and just leave him alone. Snotloud looked very surprised, he was not used that his cousin acts like this. He asked what was bothering Hiccup, who explained his engagement to Astrid. Snotloud looked jealous until Hiccup mentioned his proposal to make him the heir. He also mentioned Heather and that he likes her. Then he left. His cousin was understandably confused who this Heather is and followed his cousin.

"Snotloud easily found Heather and Hiccup. He looked so surprised, as if he never expected that his cousin talks to a girl. The twins were there as well, they noted Snotloud. I overheard one of them saying they hope he won't reveal Hiccup. We four were watching, while Hiccup told Heather about the engagement. He confessed his feeling to her and she accepted. Snotloud was so jealous, at least I can not imagine a different context for his words of, 'I can't image that the fish bone lands a girl like her.' Hiccup than proposed to Heather that they both leave Berk. Hearing that, Snotloud sneaked away and bolted to the village. I wanted to warn Hiccup, but I was unsure if should show myself like that.

"I followed Snotloud for a change. Arriving there, Snotloud revealed Hiccup's dragon taming and secret girlfriend to Stoic. Surprisingly enough, Stoic thought Heather was a witch who corrupted Hiccup. Astrid – like I said, she has issues – promised to kill Heather and Stoic gave his blessing for that. Hearing that, I was in panic, I do not want that Hiccup gets in trouble, so I tried to use the powder on Hiccup and Astrid. My idea was, if he ditches Heather, maybe this defuses the situation for a bit, maybe Astrid won't be out to kill Heather then. How wrong I was.

"Well, when some of the village, including Astrid and Snotloud arrived at the place Hiccup and Heather where, I tried to use the potion. But I accidentally hit Heather with the powder instead of Hiccup. She and Astrid saw Snotloud and fell for him. While this stopped Astrid from killing Heather, this caused them to be captured. Albeit their dragons managed to escape on Hiccup's command.", I say while feeling the heavy feeling I felt back then. "I never regretted by actions that much, like I said, I didn't want to cause trouble for my fellow outsider."

"A rarity coming from you.", says Odin. "What then?"

"Hiccup and Heather were imprisoned. Hiccup tried to talk to Heather how to escape, but she just asked him about Snotlout. He looked so hurt when he realized she loved Snotloud now. Outside of the prison, I saw Astrid flirting with Snotloud. He seemed to enjoy it, despite being confused and looking slightly uncomfortable. Stoic then approached and interrupted. He said she still has to marry Hiccup. Now Astrid wasn't a fan of this, due to the curse. As they walked into the prison, Astrid asked the chief, 'Why bother? He is a traitor.' He repeated they still have to marry each other. Astrid said she would prefer Snotloud, then Heather said it too.

"Astrid then let out Heather and attacked her. Stoic had to part them and yelled for someone to get their village elder, a lady called Gothi. She came and easily spotted the girls are cursed. Like the twins, I again got the feeling she can see me, or at least sense me."

"Village elders tend to be able to do that.", says Odin. "The same goes for the twins if they believe strongly in one."

"I figured.", I admit.

Then Freyja says, "You are such a selfish, reckless idiot! We never interfere with the mortal's lives like that! You know that! On the other hand, it is not like you break rules on a daily basis! Whatever punishment Odin chooses for you, you deserve it!"

"Freyja, I ask you to stay quiet. You can chew him out verbally after he is done with his version of events.", says Odin. He had been quite calm for all of this. I don't what to know what my punishment is. "Loki, continue."

"Well, I teleported to Gothi's hut, I wanted to ask her for how to fix this. She wasn't shocked to have a god in her hut, one asking for help at that. Well, the twins were there as well, they told her they saw a figure. Me. The twins acted like Parker when he met Dr. Banner.", I say. I see that Parker got embarrassed when I said that. And Stark looks like he wants to kill me for embarrassing his prodigy. "Gothi demanded I fix this and I did not argue because she was and still is right. The twins offered their help, which I accepted. I've never thought I see someone so excited to help me, Loki! Anyway, after we decided to collect everyone in one place to lift the curse and explain the whole debacle, I returned to Freyja and asked her for help."

"Which I agree to, as I know how much damage love potions can make!", yells Freyja. "Unlike a certain someone..."

"The twins managed to convince the whole village to go to the dragon arena. There Freyja and I revealed ourselves to the village. They acted like headless chickens when they realized who we were."

"They had a panic attack when they realized who Loki is.", adds Freyja.

"Yes. Then I explained what had happened. Stoic realizes Hiccup tamed the dragon in his own volition. Hiccup was very angry with me.", I say, when Freyja interrupted me.

"The kid punched Loki!", she shouts happily. Odin and some of the others laughed.

A Norn says, "We can confirm. The little tooth pick punched him, and it looked painfully."

"It was... Well, Freyja lifted the curse from Heather and Astrid. While Astrid reacted disgusted to have swooned over Snotloud, Heather just felt guilty and tried to apologize to Hiccup. Well, after they attacked me."

"Again, we Norns can confirm that this happened."

I rolled my eyes. They will never let me live this down. "Well, Hiccup did forgive Heather – after all she was not really at fault as it was a curse that caused her to act – but he said he can't unseeing her flirting with his cousin, so he proposed they just stay friends. Then Stoic threatened them both for riding dragons. I may or may not have yelled at him for threatening them, which put him in his place. Then their dragons appeared and fetched their respective riders, they fled. Both left Berk, the island and I have no idea what they did afterwards. Did Hiccup fulfill his destiny, Norns?"

"He's working on it with Heather's support.", one answers.

"Well, I... well, the situation was salvaged... and you got physical punishment... forget it, I decide tomorrow what your punishment will be.", says Odin.

The hearing ends and many are leaving. I overheard Stark saying, "Wow, this whole thing reminds me of this one Shakespeare Play... but which one?"

"I think you mean Midsummer Night Dream?", guesses Peter Parker.

"More like Midsummer Night Fury.", I mutter. Finally this is over. I am done and I learned my lesson. I think.
