Chapter 2

After a day of flying, we could finally see Scarlet's palace. I always loathe her. I could see her waiting by her door to the palace.

"Ah Burn, you made it." She glanced my way. "Oh! And a new friend!" She said, excited. She never remembered me. But her excitement didn't last. Her expression fell on the sight of my chains. "But why does she need chains?" She asked, turning towards Burn.

"She's a type of hybrid. Part of her is an Icewing." She pointed to my icicles on my head to my back and the ones on my jaw. "See?" Scarlet glared at me.

"Oh, a hybrid." She said, coldly. I backed away slowly.

"Well? Is she worthy to fight your champion?" Burn asked.

"I suppose so," Scarlet said, rolling her eyes. She looked almost bored. "GUARDS!" She roared, "Prepare her for the arena!" The Skywings behind Scarlet headed towards me. I panicked. I knew what happens when you're sent to the arena. They grabbed my wings, pulling me inside the palace. I thrashed around. They dragged me all the way to the arena, passing cells full of different dragons. One seawing was thrashing around. He looked dehydrated. It made my scales shiver. They took off my chains and threw me in the arena, shutting the door behind me. I landed on the hot sand, the sun blinding me. I hear someone say my name.

"Today, Dewdrop the Hybrid, has been challenged to a match with the Queen's champion, Peril!" The announcer yelled. I look around. There were pillars surrounding the arena. Chains across each pillar. I look forward. A flame colored dragon stood in between me and Scarlet's royal box.

"Claws up," Scarlet announced. I looked over at Peril. She just smiled, like this was a game to her.

"Fire ready!" I took my stance, taking a deep breath.

"Fight!"
