The next day Adelaide pulled up to the Salvatore boarding house, and she made her way to the front door with Elena slowly following her. Adelaide knocked on the front door and waited for someone to come to the door. When the door finally opened. Adelaide groaned as soon as she saw Damon standing at the door smirking." Is Stefan here?" Adelaide questioned.
"Yep." Damon popped.
"where is he?" Adelaide questioned in annoyance.
Damon smirked. "And good morning to you, little miss on a mission."
Elena moved out from behind her sister and questioned." How can you be so arrogant and glib after evrything you have done?"
"And how can you be so brave and stupid to call a vampire arrogant and glib." Damon questioned back.
Adelaide pushed Elena back behind her as she stared at Damon."If you wanted us dead, we would be dead."
"That´s true." Damon emphasised.
"But we´re not." Elena said from behind her sister.
"Yet." Damon said with a smirk."
"Until then."Adelaide said as she took a step forward and walked around Damon, entering the house. Elena hurried after her sister and they slowly walked through the hallway before Elena called out for Stefan.
"yes." Stefan answered from the top of the stairs.
"Where is Vicki?" Elena questioned.
"She´s upstairs." Stefan said as he made his way down the stairs.
"What happens now?" Adelaide questioned." Our brother is out there searching for her with the rest of the town. What do we tell him?"
"I´m working with her." Stefan explained." But it´s going to take time. She´s very volatile and impulsive personality. She´s a drug user. I mean, all that´s gonna play a part in how she respond to this." Stefan continued.
"So, she ´s a vampire with issues?" Elena questioned." What are we supposed to do? We´re lying to everyone we care about. What´s going to happen to her?"
"I´m gonna keep her here with me until i know it´s safe."Stefan explained.
"How long is that?" Vicki questioned as she made her way down the stairs.
Stefan sighed." We can talk about that later.
"Hey, Vicki. How´re you doing?" Elena asked the new turned vampire.
"How am i? You´re kidding, right?" She huffed
"Let me make us some coffee." Stefan said before he quickly turned and made his way towards the kitchen, leaving the three girls standing there with confused looks on their faces. The three girls stood there staring at each other and with each second that went by Adelaide grow more nervous as she saw Vicki glaring at them.
"Thank, god." Adelaide whispered as she saw Stefan walking into the room holding four cups of coffee and the four of them sat down at the dinning room table and Stefan turned to Vicki as he started and explain." Coffee is our friend. It´s caffeine. It circulates through our veins, and it warms our body so we´re not so cold to the touch."
Vicki looked at Stefan as she questioned."Well, what if i want to drink human blood."
"Your gonna have to learn how to live with the urge and fight on a daily basis, one day at the time."Stefan explained.
"Oh, god." Vicki groaned." Don´t start with the hole 12 steps thing. School counselor has been down that road, and it doesn´t work for me." She told Stefan.
"It can work. It´s your choice." Stefan stated.
"So, you never had never tasted human blood?" Vicki asked.
Stefan was quiet for a moment before he spoke."Not in a long time."
"How long?" Vicki questioned.
Stefan looked over at Elena before he looked down and mumbled." years and years. I´m not proud of my past behavior."
Vicki sighed before she questioned." Dose this sketchy felling every go away?" She moved her fingers to her temple as she continued."It´s like i have a massive hangover. This daylight thing is a bitch." Kicki suddenly stood up from the table." I need more blood. Where´s your bathroom? I have to pee." She looked over at Stefan in confusion." Why do i have to pee? I thought i was dead." Vicki said as she wuickly left the room.
It was silent for a moment before Stefan stood from the table and said." "I´m gonna go, uh, I´m gonna get her some more. All right. I will be quick." He said before he left the room.
As soon as Stefan was out of the room, Vicki was right back." False alarm." She called out." My body´s feeling really funky. It´s good funky, but it´s weird." She said before she made her way to the dinning room table and picked up her cell phone.
Elena looked at Vicki as she questioned." Who´re you calling?"
"Jeremy." Vicki answered.
"Vicki, you can´t see Jeremy anymore." Elena stated as she stood up from the dinning room table.
"Oh, come on, don´t you start. I´m gonna see whoever i wanna see." Vicki told Elena.
"Vicki, you could hurt him." Adelaide told Vicki as she tried to help Elena out.
"I would never hurt Jeremy." Vicki stated.
"I know you believe that you would never hurt him, but the blood lust could control you. I think you should learn to control yourself before you saw Jeremy again." Adelaide told Vicki.
But Elena decided ruin everything."Your gonna have to let Jeremy go." Elena told Vicki.
"Oh, really." Vicki growled at Elena." How long have you been preparing the you´re not good enough speech? I´m assuming it predates the whole vampire thing." Vicki commented.
"All I´m saying is that Jeremy is not getting involved in any of this. I mean it, Vicki." Elena told her.
"Or what?" Vicki questioned with a grin. She started at Elena before pushing her up against the wall as she held Elena tightly by the neck.
Adelaide ran towards Vicki and tried to pray her hands from Elena´s neck, but Vicki used her new found straight and pushed Adelaide across the hall.
Adelaide groaned in pain as she watched Vicki held her sister up against the wall. "Let´s get one thing straight, you littel bitch. You had my brother whipped for fifteen years, and than you dumped him. When i look at you, that´s all i see, just so you know."Vicki told her.
Adelaide pulled herself up from the ground, she knew she need to do something to get Vicki´s attention off Elena. A though came to her. She knew what she was about to do was dangerous and stupid, but she didn´t it anyways." Jeremy is just using you, just like Tyler.
"Oh, boy." Adelaid whispered to herself as Vicki pushed Elena away, and before she realized what were happening she was slammed into the wall like her sister.
"Jeremy would never use me, he loves me." Vicki yelled." And Tyler he..."
"He dosen´t." Adelaide said with a grin.
"And you think he loves you? he cheated on you, with me." Vicki reminede her.
"That might be so, but he still loves me and he will never..." Adelaide stared into Vicki´s eyes as she spoke." Love you."
Vicki squeezed Adelaide´s neck a littel more before dropping her and she quickly left the room.
Adelaide gasped for breath once Vicki had finally let go of her, and she looked over and saw Elena holding onto her neck." Are you okay?"
Elena nodded her head before swallowing a few times and helped her sister off the floor." Why did you do that?" Elena questioned.
Adelaide shrugged."I had to do something, she was hurting you." Elena wrapped her arms around her sister tightly, needing to know if Adelaide was okay.
Finally, Stefan came back into the room and he sees both sisters holding onto their necks and he questioned." What happened?"
"She threatened me." Elena told him, and Stefan quickly moved the two girls outside on the porch.
"She´s on the edge." Stefan explained." Imagine every sense in your body operating at super speed. I mean, she´s uncomfortable in your own skin and then when you throw in her other issues..." Stefan trailed off.
"How long until she settels? Hours, weeks, days?" Elena questioned.
"Stefan shook his head." There´s no rule book for how long it could take.
"Well how long before she learned to control it?" Adelaide asked.
"A while, but i didt have anybody to help me. I had to do it on my own." Stefan explained." The thing is, it´s hard to resist certain people, especially when you´re new, it´s difficult to separate your feelings. love, lust, anger, desire. It can blur into one urge, hunger."
"What does that mean?" Elena questioned.
"What Stefan means is that Jeremy can´t see her. She could hurt him with out realizing it.
Stefan nodded his head in agreement.
"Our worse." Elena mumbled.
"I´m not gonna let anybody get hurt." Stefan promised.
Elena looked away from Stefan eyes and looked towards Adelaide as she spoke."We should go."
"Elena." Stefan pleaded.
"Stefan, there´s only so much i can take." Elena stressed before she walked towards her car. Adelaide gave Stefan a small smile before she followed after her sister.
Adelaide made her way into the kitchen with her sister walking slowly behind her. She saw Jeremy on the phone, she only got his side of the phone call." You gotta call me back Vic. I don´t get it. What´s going on with you? Just...Call me back." Jeremy said before ending the call.
Adelaide didn´t like the fact that Jeremy was looking for Vicki, she was too dangerous to be around right now. Adelaide smiled at her brother as she spoke." We should all hang out to night. Have some fun, just the three of us." Jeremy look at her weirdly, she explained. "The school is having a halloween party to night."
"Cool..sure. sounds fun. Can´t wait." Jeremy said.
Adelaide sighed before she looked towards her sister for help as Jeremy started to walk out of the kitchen.
"Jeremy wait." Elena called out." I know you´re upset about Vicki. I heard she called matt. But you can´t be with her." Elena explained." She needs to get better. The best thing you can do for her is to let her go."
Adelaide shook her head. Of course leave it to Elena to say something to make Jeremy mad.
"What dose that even mean, let her go?" Jeremy questioned as he looked at Elena with frustration written all over his face."Oh, sure. Since we´re such experts on letting people go, right." Jeremy questioned.
Elena turned to Adelaide for help, but Adelaide shrugged just shrugged her shoulders. She was not going to get in involved in his conversation.
Elena sighed and looked at jeremy." I know you may not see it, but trust me Jer. It´s for the best."
Jeremy made his way towards his sisters as he spoke." Look, for months after mom and dad died and you beeing in coma, i felt like crap, like nothing really ever mattered crap. Now all of the sudden , i get these moments and things started to feel just a littel bit better, and Vicki was in every singel one of them." Jeremy sighed as he turned towards Adelaide." I know she hurt you and for that I´m truly sorry Addy, but keeping her away from me is not for the best. Trust me.
Jeremy stomped out of the room heading up to his bedroom. Elena sighed and looked towards Adelaide sadly. Adelaide smiled back at her sister as she stated." Don´t worry about him, when the time comes, we will be there to protect him. Adelaide look at Elena and smirked." Now get ready, we have a holloween party to get to." Elena chuckled as she followed her sister out of the kitchen and they made their way upstairs.
The Gilbert siblings made their way through the loud crowd of scary and funny costumes that filled the fields ouside of Mystic falls high school. Elena and Adelaide headed straight towards the building, where the pary was happening, when the sisters suddenly heard screams from behind them. The sisters say Jeremy scare a couple of kids. They both chuckled as they made their way up the stairs of Mystic falls high school where Matt was standing.
"You went with last year´s costume too, huh?" Matt asked with a smile on his face.
"Yeah." Elena nodded her head as she looked down at her costume." I didn´t know i was comming until a couple of hours ago." She explained.
"Me either." Matt commented before he looked towards Adelaide." Hello tinker bell. You gonna make my whish come true." Matt asked with a smirk.
Adelaide fake gasped." Matthew, there are littel kids here.
Matt chuckled at his friend before he turned towards Jeremy in confusion." And you´re going as...You?"
Jeremy rolled his eyes before he walked away from the three of them. Elena sighed as she explained to Matt." He´s not talking to me right now. we got into a fight."
Matt nodded his head." Yeah, i got into it with Vic too, when she go home. I´m trying not to smother her tonight, but a part of me didn´t wanna let her out of my sight."
Adelaide looked over at Matt in shock as she questioned." Vicki is here?"
Matt looked to Adelaide and nodded his head." Yeah, you can´t miss her, she a vampire." Matt chuckled.
"Of course she´s a vampire." Adelaide mumbled as she turned to sister.
Elena rolled her eyes before she began to look around in worry." Where is Jeremy?"
"Elena, what´s the matter?" Matt questioned in confusion.
Adelaide looked around the party and couldn´t find her jeremy anywhere." Sorry, Matty. We have to go." Adelaide said before she took Elena by the hand and pulled her through the crowd and the sisters began to look for their brother.
Adelaide held Elena´s hand tightly, not wanting to let another siblings out of her sight with a vampire running around the party. They looked eveywhere and they still couldn´t find Jeremy. Adelaide pulled Elena to the side, and she pulled out her cell phone. She texted Stefan to come and find her and Elena.
"Thank god." Adelaide sighed when she saw Stefan heading staright towards them a few minutes later. She saw Stefan had Vicki by the arm.
"What´s the matter?" Stefan asked as he looked between the two sisters.
"We lost Jeremy." Elena told him.
Adelaide nodded her head as she spoke. "We looked everywhere and i got worried so i called you."
Before Stefan could say anything, Matt came up to the group and questioned." What´s going on?"
"Uh, everything is fine." Stefan told Matt.
"I told you to quit bothering me." Vicki yelled at Stefan as she pushed his arm off her. " Matt, he won´t leave me alone." Vicki cried out to her brother.
"You need to back off, man." Matt commanded.
"Matt, it´s okay." Elena tried to tell him.
"No, it´s not okay." Matt told Elena before he walked closer to Stefan and questioned in anger." What is your problem?"
"Stefan, she´s gone!" Elena yelled before she grabbed Adelaide´s hand and began to run through the crowd, looking for their brother.
Adelaide somehow got separated from Elena, but she knew that Elena would be okay because Stefan would not let anything happen to her. Adelaide looked everywhere in the building going through the back door, but before she could walk through it, she was being pulled backwards and up against a wall. Her eyes widened when she saw who had pushed her up against the wall.
"Tyler, what´re you doing?" Adelaide questioned in confusion.
"What the hell did you say to Vicki?" He questioned with anger.
Adelaide rolled her eyes before she spoke." I don´t have time for this." She said as she tried to walked around him, but he pushed her back against the wall." Make time." He growled.
Adelaide smirked before she spoke. "Screw you." She said kneeding him in the groin, making him fall onto his knees as he groaned out in pain. " Asshole." Adelaide mumbled as she wallked back the way she came.
Adelaide had been walking around the parking lot for a few minutes when she heard her brothe yell out in pain and she took of running towards her brother.
"Vicki!"
Adelaide saw Elena and Jeremy running back towards the school, and when Elena went to open the door, Vicki came out of nowhere. She pushed Jeremy to the ground and she was about to take a bite out of Elena." Nooo!" Adelaide yelled as she pushed Elena out of the way.
"You!" Vicki growled out before she grabbed Adelaide and latched onto her neck, and Adelaide screamed out in pain as Vicki´s pushed her fangs further into Adelaide´s skin.
But suddenly, the pain in her neck was gone, she looked up and saw a broken plank thrusthed into Vicki´s heart." Oh, god." Adelaide took a step back in shock as she watched Vicki´s skin starting to fade into a grey color and a few second later Vicki fall to the ground.
"Vicki!" Jeremy yelled out in shock." Vicki! Vicki!" Jeremy tried to get closer to Vicki,but Stefan held him back.
"Get him out of here!" Adelaide commanded as she looked towards Stefan.
Stefan started at Adelaide for a moment before he nodded his head and forced Jeremy away from a very dead Vicki.
"Why did you do that?" Elena questioned as she looked towards her sister.
Adelaide held her hand onto her bleeding neck as she turned to looked at her sister." I pushed you out of the way because you´re my sister and i couldn´t let you get hurt.
"You got hurt!" Elena yelled.
"I would died before i would let anything happening to eaither of you." Adelaide told her sister before she leaned her head against one of the school busses. She was so tried with everything that had happened to day, she just wanted to crawl into her warm bed and sleep for a year.
"You should go. I got this." Damon told the two girls once he got closer.
"You did this!" Adelaide grolwed out as she turned towards Damon." This is all your fault!" She said as she took a step towards him, but she stopped as she began to feel weak, but she wasn´t going to let anyone know that, But Damon had caught one and he pointed his finger at her." You should got off your feet, before you faint.
"She´s dead!" Adelaide yelled as she pointed her finger down at Vicki.
"You comfuse me for someone with remorse." Damon told Adelaide as he looked down at Vicki.
Before Adelaide could do anything, Elena moved closer to Damon and in anger, she pushed against his shoulder, but all she got was angry vampire, but she didn´t care, so she slap him, but Damon quickly caught her arm." None of this matters to me." Damon stated." None of it."
"Elena, stop." Adelaide said as she pulled her away from Damon.
Elena looked at her sister with anger as she spoke." This is all his fault! It´s his fault that you´re hurt and bleeding."
Damon´s face hardened as he Adelaide´s bleeding neck." You need to leave." Damon commanded." Your wounds are bleeding, you need to leave, now!"
Adelaide grabbed Elena´s hand and pulled her back into the party so they could get to her car. The two girls were almost out of the school when Matt suddenly called out from behind them.
"Elena, Adelaide! Have you seen... What happened to you?" Matt questioned when he sees something red all over Adelaide´s neck and dress." Whoa... What happened?" He questioned.
Adelaide looked down at herself in confusion before her eyes widended. She had blood trailing down her neck." Oh, that´s nothing, it´s fake." Adelaide looke over at Elena, who were looking down at the floor." I´m going to take Elena home, she´s not feeling so well."
The two girls turned and began to walk away, when Matt suddenly called out." I can´t fine Vicki. She totally bailed on me."
"Sorry, i haven´t seen her." Adelaide told Matt before she and Elena made their way towards her car.
"I hate lying to him." Elena told her sister as she got into the car.
"Me too." Adelaide said as she turned towards her sister and she sighed as she saw tears in Elena´s eyes. She leaned over and squeezed her sisters hand before making her way out of the parking lot and towards their house.
once she pulled up to the house, Adelaide quickly got out of the car and hurried around the car, and linked her arm with Elena´s as they slowly made their way towards the stairs of the front porch. Elena was using her sister to hold herself up as she leaned against her. Adelaide looked up when she got onto the porch,and she saw Stefan standing there waiting for them." Where is Jeremy?" Adelaide questioned.
Stefan poined his head towards the door as he spoke." Inside."
Adelaide nodded her head before pulling Elena with her as she made her way upstairs towards Jeremy´e room. They saw him sitting on his bed with his knees to his chest as he sobbed. Adelaide walked towards his bed and sat down next to Jeremy." Do you understand what happened to night?"
"No." Jeremy cried."I don´t understand. I mean, i know what i saw, but...I don´t understand."
Adelaide grabbed his hand as she looked towards Elena, who was standing beside her before she turned back to Jeremy and spoke." She hurt Elena, she was going to kill me."
"Now she´s dead." Jeremy stated." She´s dead."
"I´m so sorry, Jer." Elena said.
"Make it stop. It hurts." Adelaide turned towards Elena in despair at her their brother´s pain as Elena tried to comfort him." Why dose everyone have to die on me?" Adelaide pulled Elena and Jeremy into a hug and she spoke." Elena and I aren´t going anywhere, Jer."
After a few more minutes, Adelaide made sure that Jeremy was okay before she and Elena made their way back outside to Stefan.
"Are you okay?" Elena questioned as they walked out on the porch.
"I wanted to help her. But instead..." Stefan trailed off before asking." How is he doing?"
Adelaide sighed." He´s a mess. He won´t survive going through another dead."
"What can i do? I want to help. I will do anything." He stressed as he looked between the sisters.
"Can you make him forget?" Elena suddenly questioned.
"Elena." Stefan trailed off.
"Stefan, please. I don´t know how he will ever get pass this. I just want him to forget everything that happened." Elena begged.
"If i did it, there´s no guarantee that it would work, because of who I´m ." Stefan explained."Because of how i live. I don´t have the ability to do it right."
"I can do it." Damon said from behind them." If that is what you want... i will do it." He stated as he started at Elena.
Elena looked towards her sister, to see what her thought. Adelaide looked towards her sister for a moment before she turned to Damon." Do it."
"What do you want him to know?" Damon asked.
Elena turned towards Damon and spoke." I want you to tell him Vicki left town and she´s not coming back. That he shouldn´t look for her or worry about her. He´s going to miss her, but he knows this is for the best."
Damon nodded his head before making his way into the house and towards Jeremy´s bedroom. Adelaide looked towards Stefan and Elena and she spoke." I´m going inside." She quickly made her way back inside the house.
Adelaide didn´t know how long she had been staring at the box in front of her, when all of the sudden someone knocked on her bedroom door, and she quickly hid the box behind her pillow." Come in." She called out and the door opened and she was surprise to see it was Damon.
"Is it done?" She asked and Damon nodded his head.
"Thank you."
Damon was about to leave when he spotted the box that was half hidden way behind a pillow. He knew that box. It was the box, he had made as a birthday gift for Elisabeth." Why do you have it?" Damon questioned.
"Have what?" Adelaide questioned.
"The box."
Adelaide turned her head to see the box was half hidden behind her pillow, she sighed as she took the box and placed it in front of her." Sheila gave it to me. She said it belonged to me." She explained.
"it belonged to Elisabeth Pierce. But you already know that, don´t you?" Damon questioned as he saw the wide eye look on her face.
"You knew Elisabeth? How?" She questioned.
"When you decide to open the box, come find me." Damon said before he turned and walked out of her room, closing the door behind him.
Adelaide stared at the door for a few second before she looked down at the box. She took a deep breath before she opened the box and looked inside it. She reached her hand down and pulled out a few pieces of folded up papir, and as she unfolded them she gasped when she saw a drawing of two very familiar faces. It was Damon and Stefan. She quickly unfolded the next one and it was a drawing of a blond-curly haired man. When she unfoled the last piece of papir, tears fall down her cheeks. It was a drawing of a brown-haired man with brown eyes." Elijah." She wiped away the tear that had falling down her cheeks with the back of her hand. Also inside the box laid a few pieces of very old looking jewelry, out of all of the jewelry what really caugh her eye was the silver ring, she picked it up and saw it was ingraved. she took a closer look and spoke out loud." Always and forever. She quickly placed the drawings, and ring back inside the box and closed it before she hid the box under her bed. she laid back down on her bed with the drawing of the man close to her chest.
