Chapter 13

"It was kind of your parents to let us live here." I said. It had been six moons since I had shown up and stayed with Manta Ray's family. Ray's mother, Baluga, found a cave near their cave a couple of days ago and insisted that we should live there. So we would have more privacy.

"Yah, I just hope Queen Coral won't be mad at me. You know, I quit and left Riptide in my place." Ray chuckled.

"She won't." I replied. "There!" I said as I placed our egg in a little nest. "Now she has a home."

"But what if HE is a big strong seawing boy?" Ray chuckled.

"Because I can see the future." I smirked.

"Ok, have any of your visions show what our kid looked like?" Then I stopped.

"Well, no." I said. "But, there was a vision where we had two eggs." I added. Ray opened his mouth when suddenly a crash came from outside. I ran outside and looked around. Then a Sandwing flew through the trees. The dragon looked familiar. "Sandstone?" I asked. The dragon turned. She was covered in cuts and blood. She had a pouch around her neck.

"Dewdrop?!" I ran up to her and gave her the biggest hug. As soon as we were done sandstone looked at me. "You got to hide me." She said, gravely.

"Ok, follow me." I said taking her to my cave. "Ray, This is Sandstone. Sandstone, this is my mate, Ray." I replied.

"Hi." Ray said.

"These cuts are bad." I said, looking at Sandstone's cuts. "Ray, could you head to your parents and grab-."

"Already on it." He replied, heading out the cave. "Now, what's going on?" I asked.

"Burn." Chills went up my spine. "She is after me."

"You can stay he-."

"No." She interrupted. "Eventually she will find me and I don't want anyone with me. I don't want any other dragons getting hurt."

"But," I started.

"I've come to drop off my egg." She handed me her egg and the vision came back. Her egg was the second. "My mate died to protect me from Burn. Now I will do the same. I don't want you, your family, or my child to die."

"Sandstone.." I mumbled through my tears.

"Goodbye Dewdrop." She said as she flew out the door.

"SANDSTONE!" I cried. "I'm not losing another friend!" I thought as I ran after her. But I was too late. "No.." I thought. Up in the air were two dragons. Burn, stabbing Sandstone in the back. "NO!" I screamed. I sobbed, clutching her egg close to my chest. Ray came up to me and put a wing around me. The egg rattled in my talons.

"Let's go inside." He said. He and I walked into our cave. I put Sandstone egg next to ours where it cracked. I gasped. Out of the egg came a little sandwing with stars along her neck and next to her eye. She yawned then fell out of the egg. I chuckled. I picked her up. "Hello, Cobra." As soon as I said her name, visions flew in. In one, she was an adult. The other was her bowing to Queen Thorn, becoming a royal guard. I blinked and hugged her close. Ray came over and joined in the hug. It was my old vision.
