[ ~ Chapter • Start ~ ]
Both Ainz and Kentarou were now near the Archfiend's castle, as the sky above it emitted was filled with dark clouds that seem to make it look far more intimidating than it was supposed to be.
They did come across several Monster Soldiers and Captains, even stranger ones that they both defeated or killed.
It mostly didn't matter to Ainz, however. He only wanted to see how this would end, before he truly begins his adventure around this strange world.
And casually, they approached the massive castle with Kentarou feeling quite dull and tense, something Ainz had noticed at the start.
There was fear inside Kentarou's heart, but if he wanted to save Miki, then he knew he needed to enter the castle.
So he kicked the door to the castle, but it didn't budge yet. He kicked it again, and again, but there was no effect. Well, that was until he found a doorknob that allowed them to open the doors.
"Fuuu..." Ainz let out a grumble, yet it only came out as a disappointing sigh, making Kentarou feel embarrassed immediately.
Once they entered, there was nobody inside the Castle. So they only had no other choice but to inspect and find out where the "boss" was.
"Shame... this castle is pretty good looking, I daresay." Ainz suddenly spoke as he glanced at the paintings and the walls of the castle they were in.
"Yeah..." Kentarou replied, agreeing to his words, as they looked at two paintings on the wall.
One of the paintings depicted a woman who appeared to be in her twenties; she wore a black dress that covered most of her body, and above it was a robe of black and gold that resembled the one worn by Ainz, while six elemental orbs between the extensions of her cape. Her long green hair fell down her back, and her golden, almost expressionless eyes coldly gazed upon those who observed her. There was a beautiful signature with the name of the painter, who was "Aizel", which made Ainz feel a little more interested of whoever this painter was.
Kentarou even felt like blushing, but due to his loyalty in loving his childhood friend, he shook himself of such thoughts. And he was almost about to leave, until he noticed Ainz still gazing at a few women illustrated on the paintings, painted by the same person, too.
Most, if not all of the paintings here illustrated a certain woman or girl, and even Ainz can't help but feel quite amazed by them all, but...
"Sir Momon! Let's move already!" He spoke, brining Ainz out of his thoughts while the disguised Overlord only realized something.
'... Not to sound estranged here, but is she a hardcore roleplayer? Umu, did I have any fans?' Ainz speculated, shaking his head in the process. '... Those are possible.'
They moved further and further into the castle, finding no traces of monsters around, and even Ainz took some of the items that looked quite useful outside of Kentarou's sight.
For a long while, Ainz thought of using [Bless of Titania] to get him to the end of the castle where the "boss" resided, but it seems like they had already entered the room.
And there, Gai had waited, looking more like a madman, glancing mostly at Ainz while regarding Kentarou as a mere weakling.
"I've been waiting, you two." Gai spoke with a regretful sight. "But sadly, the pink haired girl is already the new Archfiend, and you can't do anything to it anymore!"
Kentarou's eyes widened, taking a few steps back as if he had lost control over his body. His teeth clenched, and his fists were becoming whitened due to the pressure he was putting into it.
"Haaa!!!" Kentarou yelled, immediately charging towards Gai and thrusted his katana's tip towards the two-faced person.
Only to find out that there was an invisible force that was protecting the former Archfiend, which prevented Kentarou's sword from going further. (*1)
Kentarou tried to attack him again, and there was still mo change in results. No matter how much he tried, he couldn't damage the former Archfiend.
Well, that was until he was grabbed on the neck and slammed to the ground, before being lifted up and slammed back down, then being thrown to the air.
With cruelty, Gai had proceeded to blitz the Japanese teenager's ass right there and then before Ainz decided to interrupt him by punching Gai's face.
But, the former Archfiend dodged without problem, as if expecting him to do that.
Either way, Gai had begun to grin for the rest of this battle as he immediately focused on attacking Ainz, who unsheathed Nikkou as it once again tried to electrocute him.
Aside from that, Gai commented on how Nikkou was still refusing to accept Ainz as her wielder, even though he could wield the weapon just fine.
Even though Kentarou had become stronger, he was still very weak, even as he saw the blurred figures and the rapid sparks that came from their clashing. And Kentarou immediately began to faint, once more.
One clash broke apart the floor, another destroyed the windows near them, and the next ones promptly had Gai parry Ainz's slash and cut the Overlord's armored abdomen open.
It was immediately noticed that there was no blood coming out of the wound, but only a red orb.
"A Toushin? You shouldn't exist in this time, but this challenge is becoming more interesting!" Gai commented, yet Ainz only thought of something else.
" [Summon Angel 4th] !" Ainz casted the spell, though... The angels he expected to summon were not what he knew of. "... huh?"
He summoned a large group of angels that looked more like those high levelled NPCs, or maybe even some low ranked Valkyries, wielding swords and shields, and even having wings that allowed them to float and maybe fly, too. They all looked different from each other, too.
Their appearance actually surprised Gai, who immediately became far more careful with his opponent.
"Not a Toushin then... who even are you?!"
"Me? There is no need to tell you. I am only here because you are needed to be... expunged from this world." Ainz replied, already knowing what to say, as planned by him.
The angels, hearing him, immediately took positions while they looked at Ainz.
"We are 6th Rank angel knights, ready to serve you!" One of the angels said to Ainz, allowing him to know what rank they are, even though they are... of a possibly higher rank?
It was going to confuse him soon, though he needed some clarifications later.
"Give us your orders, master." And another asked, before Ainz responded by pointing at Gai.
"Assist me." Ainz commanded, and the Angels immediately followed.
