Very Short Chapter. I Think I Know How To Expand The Story After This Though

Chapter 7: What Are Those?

Hospital

"Where am I?" Helga asked, laying on the hospital bed.

She looked around while listening to the conversation between Olga and the doctor…

"After all the IV medications we've given her the past few days, it's not safe to give her anything for the amnesia. In this case, the safest thing to do would be to take her home. She didn't take too great a fall, so this should only be temporary."

Olga whimpered, as she listened to the nurse's advice. This wasn't how she wanted to become closer to Helga. "Okay then."

Helga's House

The girls arrived home (an unfamiliar place to Helga). Olga came around to the other side of the car to help her out, when her younger sister immediately headed for the street.

"Baby Sister! No!"

Olga jerked her back onto the sidewalk and screeched "You can't go into the street baby sister! Come inside with me."

The two entered the house, to see Bob and Miriam in the kitchen. "Finally! You're home."

"Yes, but she does have amnesia." Olga sniffled, while Bob smacked his face "For crying out loud! How could they not fix her when you were there?"

Tears began to form in Olga's eyes, still feeling responsible for what had happened. "They didn't think it was safe to give her anything else."

"So what are we supposed to do until then? Are we…"

Bob scowled before hearing a knock at the door.

Knock! Knock!

"Mother Goose! Who could that be?!

Bob opened the door to see Arnold standing there. Before he could say anything, Bob snapped "What do you want kid?"

"I was just wondering if Helga had made it home yet?"

"Yeah she's here. She doesn't remember anything though. Like the surgery wasn't bad enough to begin with!" Bob complained.

Arnold frowned, welcoming himself in, after seeing Bob turn his back. While Olga was crying in the kitchen, Arnold saw Helga wandering into the living room.

"Those are cards the class made for you." Helga heard from behind.

The confused girl turned to see the blonde boy standing behind her, pointing to the decorative pieces on the couch.

Seeing Helga holding the cards upside down took him back to the day he was helping her with her geography homework.

Technically, to bring someone's memory back, the best thing to do is bring up things the person would normally recognize.

Helga had been in the hospital the past few days however. Arnold felt it may be best for her to just go upstairs and rest.

"Here, I'll show you where your room is."

Bedroom

Arnold opened the door, ready to pull the covers back for Helga. When he turned around, he saw Helga looking to see what was inside her closet.

"He looks like you!" the confused girl said, while pointing at the most recent shrine she had made of her boyfriend.

Arnold began to blush, knowing she probably wouldn't like the idea of him being in there. "Uhh yeah. Let's get you to bed."

After getting her under the covers, Arnold sat beside her on the bed, running his fingers through her hair.

A desolate look remained on his face, knowing Helga had been through a lot in just the past few days. The only good that could come of this would be her not remembering the time she was spending with Olga.

Arnold decided to place the get well cards the class had made for her in the drawer of the table beside her bed.

At that moment, Olga walked in to say "Let's get your hair washed baby sister! I've got the sink set up for you!"

Arnold looked at Helga resting her eyes and replied "You know what Olga, maybe you should save that for tomorrow. She's had a rough day. If she gets some sleep now, her memory might be back in the morning."
