chapter twenty

The past few days had been hectic. Though the Winchesters lives always were. Lillian had gotten a call from Dean that Bobby was in the hospital. Dean had told her that Bobby had become possessed by the demon they had unfortunately come to know as Meg. During a fight he stabbed himself trying to protect Dean. Unfortunately, now Bobby is paralyzed from the waist below.

When she heard of the incident her face went pale. Sometimes she forgets how fragile humans are. Once the shock wavered, she was struck with guilt because she can't heal him. Not if she wanted her cover blown. Her only option was to have Cas do it. He had to heal him.

As their luck would turn out, heaven cut off Castiel's powers for disobeying. He couldn't heal him. Lillian didn't even know that was a thing… heaven cutting off angels from using their grace. She always thought they could use their power as freely as they chose to considering her father does and he's been in hiding.

Lillian stayed in Sioux Falls so she could keep Bobby's house nice and tidy when he was ready to come home. She stopped by the hospital everyday to keep him company. Even when he wasn't in the mood to see anyone she would pester him and try to lift his spirits. She felt guilty not using her powers on him but she wouldn't. She couldn't. She could hear her fathers voice ringing around in head reminding her how dangerous it is.

While the female Winchester was on Bobby duty, Sam and Dean were helping another hunter with a case. Rufus, an old friend of Bobby's, thinks his town is under attack so the Winchester brothers are helping him out. While the trio of siblings had split up, Castiel had also left to go on his own mission to find God. Castiel thinks that by finding God he will find an answer on how to stop Lucifer and cease the destruction and chaos in the world. Before Castiel left, with a touch to the forehead, he seared Enochian sigils into all three of the Winchesters rib cages to hide them from all angels and archangels. Castiel assured Lillian even though she's a nephilim they should still work when she isn't warding herself from others.

Currently for Lillian it's around the end of the day and she's just pulling up to Bobby's house after her visit with him. She shut off the engine of her car and sighed to herself as she opened the door to head towards the front of the house. She held the key to the keyhole about to turn it when she dropped the keys abruptly as her head was pulled back gently. Lillian picked up the keys and held the back of her head as she turned around confused.

"…what?" she whispered to herself.

It wasn't a hair grip and tug sensation. What Lillian was experiencing was more like a physic pull. Her mind and body was being drawn someplace. This had happened to her over the course of the past week. Though not like this. She hadn't experienced it so intense where it felt like a wave of energy was dragging her someplace. Trying to lead her somewhere. Oftentimes when she felt it, it was more like a mental pull. As if her mind was telling her, urging her to go somewhere. Go where the universe was begging her to be.

As she scanned the yard and saw no one, Lillian quickly unlocked the front door and headed inside. She slammed the door behind her and locked all the locks securely. Taking a step back she leaned against a bookshelf and took a shaky breath to herself.

Later that night Lillian sat at the kitchen table alone with a beer in hand and solitaire laid out in front of her. It was later in the night but not too late, around 11pm, she still had her clothes from the day on. Procrastinating going upstairs to get changed out of them. She kept starting a new game of solitaire and telling herself, I'll get changed after this next one. Which eventually turns into 15 games more.

Eyes squinted and engrossed in her game, everything felt peaceful in Bobby's empty house. Which surprised her. She thought she would feel unnerved with it so empty. As she fidgeted with a beer cap and debated her next move, Lillian felt it again. The pull. This time it not only came from her head but it came from her chest. It was heavy and alluring.

She finished her beer and slammed the empty bottle on the table as she stood up frustrated. Her eyebrows were scrunched together in anger as she made her way towards the door. Lillian walked out into the dark of the night and stood at the end of Bobby's driveway. She had enough of whatever this feeling was. She's not going to give into it but, she most certainly will find out the source of it.

Closing her eyes she took a deep breath. She focused on the pull and everything it made her feel. She didn't understand any of it or what it meant. She wasn't even sure if it was a place but she focused her mind on all the energy that is pulling on her entire being and flew herself away towards it.

She opened her eyes again and she was in a small town. Lillian had no idea where she was. There wasn't a sign up where she was standing. The town was dead at this time of night so there was no one to ask. Shrugging her shoulders at the situation she walked through the dimly lit town to look for clues.

As she walked she realized where she was standing the feeling was so strong. Wherever she flew herself had the core of this feeling hidden away somewhere and she was going to find it. The feeling she felt standing there was almost as if a magnet was weighing her down, but not in an uncomfortable sort of way. Whatever it was that was pulling on her is definitely close by.

Squinting her eyes in the dark she read the sign up ahead that read she was coming close to a park. Lillian continued walking until she entered the extremely dim lit park. Walking until she came upon a bench nearby a streetlamp. She sat down while hugging her jacket to her tighter.

She sat on the bench with one leg crossed over her other and tapped her foot in the air. There was a comfortable silence within the night. The only sound to be heard was crickets chirping throughout the park. Lillian closed her eyes slowly as she took in a deep breath of fresh air, enjoying the moment of peace. As she exhaled she moved her eyes to scan her surroundings of the park. Looking at the nature around her as best as she could with it being so dark.

Her eyes glanced from the corner of eyes to the left and she noticed there was a man sitting on the bench adjacent to hers. Still looking without turning her head, all she could see was a blonde blob. I wonder who would be out here at this time of night? Lillian wondered to herself, considering this small town seemed very conservative.

She turned her head slightly to the left to get a better look at him. She hoped he couldn't see her peeping at him. When her eyes adjusted onto him at the awkward angle she was staring from she felt her blood run cold.

Lillian saw the side profile of the blonde stranger with striking blue eyes sitting lazily on the bench next to her. She also saw the face that lay beneath that one. An angel. She did not know the name of the breathtaking angel that sat a few feet away from her and she didn't want to. This can't be a coincidence.

She hastily got up from her seat and started walking back towards where she came from. As she walked the pulling sensation came back, trying to draw her in. She felt like she couldn't escape it. Lillian had a skin crawling feeling and felt like she was being followed. She couldn't leave town though, not until she finds out what brought her here. She didn't expect any angels to be around though…

As she was walking she made a sharp left turn. Then another left. Then another. Lillian still could feel herself being followed by someone. She backed against the wall of a building and hid in the darkest area. Awaiting the arrival of her night stalker.

Eventually Lillian heard faint footsteps approaching. As soon as they sounded a few feet away the adrenaline rushed through Lillian as she flew out of the dark and appeared behind her stalker, pushing him against the wall with all her strength. She had to hold him against the wall by pinning him in place with her arm in the middle of his back and her chest pushing him down. She's much shorter in comparison but she's more than physically capable taking him down.

His head was turned to the side and she saw he was the same blonde angel from the bench earlier. "Feisty, aren't you?" the angel spoke first. Lillian scrunched her eyebrows up in anger and confusion.

"Who are you? Did the host send you?" Lillian demanded answers.

The blonde angel's shoulders started to shake as a low rumble of laughter emerged from him. Lillian pulled out her angel blade her father made for her and pointed it towards his back. She snatched his hand that was resting on the wall beside his head. When she grabbed it she had a weird feeling but ignored it and continued to yank his arm behind him in an uncomfortable position as she pointed the blade towards his neck.

"You think this is funny?" She spat.

The laughter cleared from his face. He looked at her as he felt her body pressed against him. It wasn't a comfortable position, but he loved having her against him. He also hated it and he hated himself for it. "No, I think your question was ridiculous."

"Who are you?" She repeated as she moved the blade under his eye. "Why are you following me?" She flashed her red eyes at him fed up with not getting any answers.

He smirked at her and flashed red back her, "Lucifer."

The anger in her face left and there was only confusion. Lucifer? The Lucifer? Why is he here…? In this small town of all places? Why hasn't he tried to kill me?! Why is he following me? Why-

Lillian's thoughts were cut off by Lucifer spinning their bodies around so he was the one pinning her to the wall. She was so confused and caught up in her thoughts she didn't realize that her grip had loosened on him. He was holding her wrists back next to her head. Lucifer was insanely close to her. Lillian felt caged in. She could feel his cold breath on her.

She finally spoke up after his reveal. "What do you want from me? Why are you following me?" When she spoke she sounded more angry than intended.

Lucifer's icy blue eyes stared down into Lillian's green ones. He took his hand off of one of her wrists and held the side of her face as he spoke. "I don't want anything from you."

She held onto the wrist of the hand that was holding her face. Still confused as ever. "What? You aren't making any sense. Why are you here with me then? Do you know who I am?" Her eyes went wide with fear. Does he know that she's a Winchester? Or does he know that she's a nephilim. That she's Gabriel's daughter? If he knows then he could want her for malicious purposes or he could want her dead too..

As she stared deep into his eyes and the longer she touched his frozen like skin she felt drunk off of him. It was an odd phenomenon. She doesn't know who he is personally but she feels like she's known him a long time. Like they've met before. Lucifer felt familiar to Lillian in a deep sense. Which is scary because it's fucking Lucifer and she should be screaming in the other direction. Though as they were frozen in place staring at one other she realized she was being pulled towards him. She wiggled her other wrist free from his hand that was against the wall and placed it on his face. As she touched him she felt a warmth. Which is ironic because he is so cold to the touch. It was like two magnets being drawn together. There was something other worldly about when they touched one other that was unspeakable.

"Do.. do you feel that to?" Lillian asked quietly as she moved the hand that was on his wrist to be in his hand.

"Yes." He admitted even quieter.

"What is this? What does this mean?"

Lucifer shook his head. "I couldn't tell ya. I have lived a very, very long time and I've never seen anything like this happen."

They sat in silence for a few more moments just holding each other and enjoying the silence. Then it fully sank in for Lillian what is going on and who she is with. "What are you going to do to me?" She asked looking up at him, frozen in place.

"What do you think I'm going to do to you?" Amused by her sudden fear but concerned because fear from her is not what he wanted.

"I don't know.. Your Lucifer, the Dark Prince. I'd expect you to be unpredictable."

He sighed and brushed her hair back out of her face. "I already told you. I'm not going to do anything to you. I wanted to see you again."

She was relived that he wasn't going to try anything but still suspicious of him because he could easily take his word back. Though she knows he's telling the truth for now. She squinted her eyes at him, "What do you mean you wanted to see me again?"

Lucifer was mentally kicking himself. Sometimes he had a habit of speaking too much. "It doesn't matter… It's getting late. Shouldn't a young lady such as yourself be getting going? It's dangerous out here."

Lillian took a mental note to not forget what he's trying to avoid and rolled her eyes. "You know it wouldn't be as dangerous if there wasn't an apocalypse going on at the moment" she deadpanned.

He stepped back and shook his finger at her. "Oh hoo alright! You got me with that one." Lillian looked at him with her arms crossed and the serious expression never leaving her face. "Geez really not happy with the end times huh?" Lucifer said.

"This is my cue to leave now." Lillian said while flipping her hair back behind her as she walked past Lucifer. As she was leaving he grabbed her arm.

"Wait!"

"What?" Lillian turned to look at him.

"I don't really want to kill my brother." Lucifer confided in her.

"Why are you telling me this? We don't know each other Lucifer. You are in the midst of destroying my home, my planet, as we speak. Why would I listen to a thing you have to say? I'm a hunter. I should be killing you right now."

"I know I can trust you…" Lucifer started. His deep voice sounded slightly desperate. "…and I know you can trust me. Which I know doesn't make any sense speaking aloud. You can feel it." He grabbed her roughly and pulled her towards him. "It's why you came here. Something inside of you was calling out to you, to bring you to me. We are meant to trust each other." Lucifer said the last part quietly. He felt disgusting speaking this sincere to another person. It had been way before the cage since he last way able to trust another.

Lillian gave him a small nod in acceptance towards his words and wrapped her hand around his. She doesn't know why she is going along with what he's saying. She hopes it isn't one of his devil tricks, she knows she's smarter than that. Something inside of her tells her that she needs him.
