He slowly opened his eyes to see Shu sitting on the side looking at him. "Sorry, Shu… I got sick because I didn't stay here as you told me to…" Aichi apologized weakly.
"If you hadn't come, we would've fallen down… thank you, Aichi," Shu said while looking at Aichi.
"I'm glad I got there in time," Aichi responded with a smile as tears ran down his face. He turned and rubbed his eyes weakly. "I was so scared… if something had happened to you…" he cried.
"I'm fine because you saved me. So don't cry and get some rest," Shu said reaching in to touch Aichi's forehead. It was still really warm. "You're still burning up, I'll get a wet cloth for you," he said after touching his forehead and comparing it to Aichi's. He turned to leave the room, but Aichi caught and held onto his shirt before he could.
"I just need you to be with me…" Aichi said weakly.
Shu smiled and turned back. He pulled a chair closer so that he could comfort him. "Alright, I'm here. I'll be by your side," he agreed softly. He smiled and closed his eyes to sleep.
Soon there was a knock on the door and the door slowly opened. It was Daina and he gestured Shu to come with him. Shu slowly and quietly got up from his seat and left the room. "How is he?" Diana asked.
"He just has a high fever," Shu answered as he closed the door quietly behind him. "I'm going to find someone to look after him while I'm gone. He usually gets himself into trouble after he wakes up," he informed before looking for someone close by. A maid walked by to change the sheets in everyone's room. "Excuse me!" He called. The maid turned.
"Yes, master Shu?" She responded with a bow.
"There is a boy with a fever in this room. If you would look after him while we're at our training session, that will be very helpful. He tends to get startled when he wakes up, so when he wakes up, please call for me," Shu explained.
"I will ask one of the nurses to look after him," she agreed.
"Thank you," Shu thanked before they went their separate ways.
While Shu was gone, Aichi was having a nightmare. Aichi found himself sitting on the bleachers of a gigantic coliseum. "Where am I…?" He asked to himself while looking around. There was no one around him, all he could hear was echoing footsteps. He turned to the noise and saw Shu appear and walking to the stadium. His hair was longer and he was wearing a white jacket with a black undershirt and black pants.
"Shu!" Aichi called while running to the railing. Shu didn't turn to him; instead, he got into position to launch. "Shu…?"
He launched his Beyblade and the entire stadium burst into flames. Aichi covered his eyes and when he opened them again, he was standing right in front of Shu who was looking down on him with deep evil eyes. "Shu…? What's wrong?" Aichi asked while approached him slowly.
Shu knocked him away and he was pushed into the darkness that bound his arms. Shu turned and began to walk away. "Shu! Wait!" Aichi cried as he struggled. "Come back! Don't leave me!" He shouted before he was engulfed in darkness.
"Master Aichi…!" It was a muffled voice. Aichi looked around. "Master Aichi…! His head is getting warmer! What do I do?! I need a doctor!" A female voice cried panicky. He heard footsteps and the door opening and closing.
Aichi opened his eyes panting. He felt his head was really warm and he had a big headache. "Shu… where are you…?" Aichi muttered as a tear ran down his face. He couldn't see Shu anywhere around him. "Shu… Shu…!" Aichi repeated with each cry getting a little louder.
A doctor ran into the room and saw the state Aichi was in. At that point, Aichi was already so weak that his cries were almost too quiet to hear. "Shu…" he muttered.
"Doctor, please do something!" The maid cried.
"Shu… Shu…" Aichi called before starting to fall unconscious. He heard the door slam open. The sound was muffled, but he heard someone shout, "Aichi! I'm here! You'll be okay!"
"Shu…" Aichi muttered one more time before fainting.
When Aichi woke up again, it was morning and Shu was sitting on a chair beside him. "Aichi! You're awake!" Shu shouted relieved.
Aichi nodded his head. His head wasn't warm anymore and his headache was gone. "Are we going home today?" He asked sounding excited.
"You want to go home that badly?" Shu responded with a chuckle.
"Your mom might be worried when she heard about the storm," Aichi explained. He got up from the bed and Shu touched his forehead.
"You had a high fever last night. It seems like you're fine now, but still take your medicine, okay?" Shu said before taking his hand off. Aichi sat on the side of the bed as Shu packed up their things.
"Shu, I want to learn how to battle just like you do," Aichi said with resolve.
Shu turned to him surprised. "Where is this coming from?" He asked.
"I was thinking about how strong the person inside of me is… I had to rely on him a lot so I want to learn how to fight on my own," Aichi explained while fiddling his fingers.
Shu smiled. "Alright, I'll teach you seriously when we get home," he agreed before turning back to continue packing.
Aichi looked excited and got off the bed to help Shu pack their bags. "Thank you, Shu," he thanked with a smile.
"I'm not going to go easy on you, okay? You will need to work hard," Shu warned.
"You know me the best, Shu. You'll only tell me to do something I can handle," Aichi responded confidently. They soon finished packing up and walked outside of their room.
"Good morning, master Shu and Aichi," the butler greeted.
"Thank you for giving us medicine and letting us stay for an extra night," Shu thanked while holding onto Aichi's shoulder. Aichi bowed his head.
"There is no need to thank us. You were the one who saved master Wakiya when the bridge broke. It was the least we could do," the butler responded. "As a thank you from master Wakiya, our private helicopter will take you to school today and we have already contacted your mother to take your school things to the school," he explained with a smile.
"You really didn't have to. We could have just taken the train," Shu responded with a nervous smile.
"As I said, this is for yesterday. Now follow me, we have prepared breakfast for you," the butler said before guiding them to the dining room.
"Masters, I have brought your breakfast," one of the maids informed them. Aichi and Shu looked at the cart that she was pushing.
"Pancakes!" Aichi cheered excitedly. The maid smiled and placed the plates on their table.
"Thank you for the food!" They said together before eating.
"If you need anything, please call me," she said before leaving the room. When she closed the door behind her and released all her emotions. "They look so cute together!" She squealed from the cuteness.
"Shu Kurenai is so responsible and that boy is just so adorable!" The other maid agreed.
When they finished their food, they were guided to the yard where the helicopter was waiting. Aichi looked up amazed at the sight.
They got inside and the plane took off. "Wow! We're so high up!" Aichi said amazed. He was basically out of his seat looking out the window. He was startled when the helicopter shook a little causing him to fall forward.
"Hey! Be careful," Shu scolded seriously as he caught Aichi.
"Thank you, Shu! Look! We're in the clouds!" Aichi commented happily. He was too excited to notice that Shu just scolded him.
Shu gave in and smiled. "At least sit on your seat with your seatbelt while looking out the window," he said before making Aichi sit down on his seat.
It didn't take long for them to reach their destination since they were on a plane. Aichi and Shu walked out of the helicopter with all their things. They landed on the roof of the school and Shu's mom was right outside with their school bags. "Mom, why are you here?" Shu asked.
"I got a call to come here with your school things," she informed while she was putting the backpack on Aichi. She knelt down to Aichi's height and put her hand on his forehead. He looked at her shyly and blushed a little. "Good… your fever went down. I was worried when I got the call," she commented. It wasn't hot, but his forehead was a little warm.
"He just needed some rest," Shu responded before taking his backpack. He walked to Aichi and held his hand. "We should head to class, the bell is about to ring," he said.
"Okay, you're right. Take care of Aichi, Shu," she responded with a smile before putting a hand on each of their cheeks. She had a warm smile when she looked at her mature son and the shy childish, Aichi together. "Alright, get to class now," she said before waving them off.
"Right… bye, mom!" Shu responded with a smile before walking off holding Aichi's hand. Aichi turned and waved. After he saw, her wave back, he smiled before turning to follow Shu.
"Aichi, are you really feeling okay? You could go home with mom if you don't feel up to it," Shu asked worriedly.
"I'm feeling fine!" Aichi assured with a smile. He ran and pulled on Shu's hand which made him follow. "Let's hurry, Shu!" He said while laughing.
"There is no rush, we can take our time," Shu responded. He was trying to calm him down, but he didn't stop. Aichi turned and walked backwards happily. He didn't notice that someone was behind him and he bumped into them. The impact made him fall backwards where Shu caught him.
"Hey! Watch where you're going stupid brat-" the girl Aichi crashed into shouted before seeing Shu. "Shu Kurenai?! I'm so sorry! It was my fault!" She cried while bowing formally. She believed that Shu was the one that bumped into her.
"No, it wasn't your fault. I'm sorry for 'him' crashing into you. He wasn't watching," Shu responded while looking down at Aichi who had slid behind him shyly.
"This little guy…?" The girl asked while squatting down. Aichi just hid further behind Shu.
"Aichi, apologize, it was your fault," Shu ordered in a serious tone.
Aichi peeked his head out a little and mumbled, "I'm sorry" quietly.
The girl was kind of confused on why Aichi and Shu acted like that. "So… is he your…?" The girl thought out loud.
"He's my little brother. Well, we aren't really brothers, but we are basically brothers," Shu answered while reaching behind him and patting Aichi's head. "Anyway, that isn't important. Are you hurt anywhere?" He asked the girl which made her blush.
"No… I'm perfectly fine!" The girl answered before stretching her legs in front of him. "Is the little guy alright?" She asked while trying to look at Aichi.
"He's fine," Shu answered before looking at the time.
"Shu… I was wondering if you would teach me how to beyblade…" the girl said nervously while blushing.
"Okay, I'll do it as a favour because of what happened. Meet me at the roof at lunch," Shu agreed before walking off while holding Aichi's hand.
"Sorry, Shu…" Aichi apologized sadly.
"You shouldn't be saying sorry to me," Shu responded with a smile. They walked inside their classroom right before the bell rang and walked to their seats. Class began when the teacher walked into the classroom. It was a math test period and Aichi was the first to finish. When Shu was done, he turned to Aichi to see that he looked to be sleeping. He took out his book from English class started reading.
When the bell rang and the teacher collected all the tests, Shu walked to Aichi to wake him up. "Hey… Aichi. We need to go to our next-" he said before noticing his face was red and his breathing was heavy. "Aichi? Hey!" He called as he touched Aichi's forehead. It was burning hot again.
"Shu, what's-?" Valt began saying before seeing how concerned Shu looked.
"I'm taking him to the infirmary," Shu informed before carrying Aichi up from his desk. He ran to the infirmary panicked, when he got there, the nurse was startled since Shu didn't knock.
"Take him to the bed," the nurse said while directing Shu to the bed closest to her. Shu placed him down and tucked him in. The nurse began with checking Aichi's temperature.
"He should have went home…" Shu said quietly.
"Go to your next class. I'll call his parents and have them pick him up," the nurse informed after reading 104 degrees fahrenheit on the thermometer.
"Okay. His name is Aichi Sendou, so make sure he gets home," Shu responded before he began to walk away. Aichi slowly opened his eyes and reached out to catch his hand before he left. Shu turned back and saw Aichi holding his hand tightly.
"Shu…" Aichi muttered weakly. Shu sighed and knelt down beside the bed.
"I'll stay here until you fall asleep. Don't be scared," Shu assured while brushing away the sweat from his forehead. The nurse looked at them for a while before turning and dialing a number on the wired phone on her desk.
"Hello, can I get the phone number of Aichi Sendou's guardians? He is quite sick, so he needs to go home," the nurse explained. The person on the other side of the phone responded and she wrote down the phone number. "Thank you," she thanked before hanging up and dialing the first number they gave her.
"Hello, Ms. Sendou. Your son got a very high fever, would you come pick him up?" The nurse asked as she turned to see Aichi asleep, but still holding onto Shu's hand with a weak grip. Shu slowly and gently got up and made Aichi let go of his hand.
There was a short small giggle from the phone before her voice began getting filled with concern. "Yes, I will be there to pick up my son," the woman on the other side responded.
"Okay, thank you," the nurse said before hanging up.
"Thank you, nurse. I'll be going to class now," Shu informed with a bow. The nurse nodded and he left. It didn't take long for Shu's mom to arrive.
"Ms. Sendou, you arrived," the nurse said while holding her hand out for a handshake.
Shu's mom giggled a little again before shaking her hand. "My surname is actually 'Kurenai'. I am Aichi's temporary guardian," she informed with a smile. She turned to Aichi who was still sleeping in bed.
"I have given him some antibiotics and his fever went down. It is best if he goes home to rest," the nurse explained.
"Okay, thank you," Shu's mom thanked before walking to Aichi to wake him up. "Aichi, wake up, we're going home," she informed gently. He slowly opened his eyes and looked startled after noticing that Shu wasn't beside him.
"Where's Shu?!" Aichi cried while looking around frantically.
"Sh… Aichi… It's okay. Shu is in class right now, we shouldn't bother him okay?" Shu's mom said calmly as she pulled him into an embrace. He soon calmed down and whispered, "I want to see Shu…" in her ear. She sighed as she released the embrace. "Ms. Nurse, can you have my other son, Shu bring his things here?" She requested.
Suddenly, Aichi's behaviour around Shu made a lot of sense. "Oh, yes!" The nurse answered. She took her phone and called the announcement room. "Please call for Shu Kurenai to come here with Aichi Sendou's things," she requested.
"Shu Kurenai, please bring Aichi Sendou's things to the infirmary," the person announced.
Aichi laid in bed patiently waiting for Shu. When he heard footsteps at the door, he got excited only to be disappointed when he saw Valt open the door. He was holding Aichi's backpack in his hands. "Oh! Shu's mom! Shu told me to bring this here for him," Valt informed. He looked at Aichi to see that he was really sad and got confused.
"Thank you, Valt," Shu's mom thanked with a smile while patting Aichi's head. "Tell Shu, Aichi said, 'bye and see you at home!'" She added before pulling the backpack over her shoulders and lifting Aichi up.
"Okay!" Valt answered before running off.
"Let's go home, Aichi. Say thank you and bye to the nurse," Shu's mom said.
"Thank you, bye," Aichi thanked shyly.
"You're welcome. Next time, don't come to school when you're feeling unwell," the nurse responded while waving. They left and Shu's mom carried him to the car. Aichi put on his seat belt and looked up at the window of his classroom before driving away.
When they got home, Aichi was already asleep again. Shu's mom carried him out gently and went up the elevator to their apartment. She gently placed Aichi on the bed so he could sleep comfortably. She left the room to make some rice gruel for him.
When Shu returned home from school, he noticed that his mom wasn't there. "Mom?" He called. He walked into the kitchen and saw a note.
"I had an emergency meeting. I'll be home soon, Mom." Shu sighed and walked to his room door. He slowly opened the door and walked inside slowly.
He saw Aichi under the covers. "You're awake. Are you feeling better?" He asked while standing at the side of the bed. He knew that Aichi was mad because he told Valt to bring his backpack to him. He didn't get a response so he sighed and sat on the bed. "Aichi, I didn't go to you because I knew you wouldn't leave if you saw me," he informed.
Aichi still didn't look at him, so he sighed. "I'm going to do some training, so get some rest," Shu said before getting up and leaving the room.
A little while after Shu left, something entered the room Aichi was in. He walked up to the unconscious Aichi. The person had rope with them and leaned in to Aichi. Suddenly, Aichi began glowing and he changed into the older him. He opened his eyes and saw the man standing over him. "Who are you?" He asked while getting up into a sitting position. He felt weak from just awakening, but he was ready to put up a fight if he needed to.
"Aichi Sendou… I would like to ask for your cooperation for my experiments," the man requested.
"I cannot do that. I would have to leave Shu and my other self wouldn't want that," Aichi responded.
"And if I were to be able to get Shu Kurenai's cooperation?" The man asked with a smirk.
"My other self would follow Shu anywhere. If you are capable of doing that, I won't stop him from wanting to follow," Aichi answered with a smile.
"This must seem like just a game to you," the man commented.
"No, mistakes make people grow," Aichi responded.
"So I can believe you will keep your word on this?" The man asked.
"Of course. You have my word," Aichi answered
"I will hold you to that," the man said before disappearing. Aichi felt a familiar energy left after the man disappeared.
"My Vanguard, what are you doing?" Blaster Blade asked sounding concerned.
"This issue isn't world ending. Also, this might be good for Shu," Aichi answered before laying down and closing his eyes again. "Blaster Blade, can you transfer some of my power to this boy? I think that seed that Void planted in me weakened him too much," he ordered.
"My Vanguard, the boy's spirit can't take it," Blaster Blade responded.
"The seed took some of his capacity away. Now that it's gone, it shouldn't be an issue if I give him a little more," Aichi assured before falling unconscious. His body changed back and his fever was gone.
A few minutes past and Shu's mom returned home. She first walked inside Shu's bedroom and put her hand on his head and found that the fever was completely down. She smiled and brushed his hair. "Looks you're going to be fine…" she said relieved. She left the room and began preparing dinner.
Once she was done cooking, she went down to the basement where he knew Shu was training. She saw her son sweating and practicing nonstop. "Shu, dinner is ready," she informed while ruffling her son's hair with the towel.
"Okay, mom! I'll come up in 10 minutes!" Shu responded while brushing his mother away with his hand.
"No… Now!" His mother growled intimidatingly. Shu jumped and picked up Spriggan. "I need you to wake up, Aichi. I'm sure you're the first person he wants to see when he wakes up," she explained before heading up with Shu.
"I think I'm the last person he'd like to see," Shu responded with a sad smile.
"Well he's been calling your name in his sleep for about an hour now," she informed with a sigh. They soon got back to the apartment and Shu walked to his room nervously. When he got to the door, he heard it.
"Shu… Shu…" Aichi's voice repeated inside the room. Shu then opened the door and saw Aichi sleeping inside. He was holding Blaster Blade in his hand. "Don't go…" he muttered.
Shu looked at him worried and put his hand on Aichi's head. "Aichi, wake up. Dinner is ready," he whispered. Aichi slowly opened his eyes and saw Shu in front of him.
"Shu!" Aichi cried while hugging him tightly.
"Aichi, what's wrong?" Shu asked nervously.
"Shu… you were evil… you locked me in a cold… lonely place… I was scared…" Aichi explained while crying into Shu's shirt. Shu looked at him sadly and hugged him back.
"I will never do that to you," Shu assured gently. "I'm sorry about today… I shouldn't have left you alone like that…" he apologized while brushing Aichi's back to calm him down.
"Can I stay with you from now on?" Aichi asked.
Shu sighed and used his hand to ruffle his hair. "I'll stay with you from now on," he responded with a smile. Aichi looked up and smiled happily.
"You promised!" Aichi said.
"How about we go somewhere after school tomorrow?" Shu suggested.
Aichi looked at him confused. "Go somewhere?" He wondered curiously. "Where?" He asked.
"That's going to be a surprise," Shu answered. Aichi smiled and nodded. They walked outside of the room together and saw that Shu's mom was waiting for them at the dinner table. "Sorry it took us so long, mom," he apologized.
Aichi bowed his head as an apology too. His mom giggled before saying, "you two had to make up. I'm glad you two are back to normal."
The next day, after school, Aichi and Shu took the train to somewhere. "Shu, where are we going?" He wondered while looking out the window amazed.
"I was thinking of going here alone, but I promised not to leave you alone again, so we're going together," Shu explained while sitting on the seat calmly.
When they reached their stop, they got outside and looked up to see a huge mountain. "Shu… how are we going to get to the top…?" Aichi asked while looking up the mountain.
"We'll have to climb it," Shu answered with a smile before taking Aichi's hand. "Come on. We'll go slowly," he said before they began walking. The mountain was pretty steep, so Aichi was pretty scared. To make sure Aichi wouldn't fall, Shu would stand behind him as he went up first. When they were about halfway up the mountain, Aichi was too tired to go on.
"Shu… I'm tired…" Aichi cried while panting.
"Hey! Shu! I heard that you were coming by!" A familiar voice shouted from above them. Aichi and Shu looked up to see Xander walking down to them. "Oh, the little guy is with you again!" Xander commented.
Aichi was a little scared, so he held onto Shu tightly. "You remember Xander, right Aichi?" Shu said as he put his hand on Aichi's shoulder.
"I was scared for the little guy. I'm glad you're alright!" Xander said while lifting Aichi up high which startled Aichi. He placed him on his shoulder before starting to climb again. "Shu! How about we race to the top?" Xander asked enthusiastically.
"I'm not Valt, I'm not really interested in competing about everything," Shu declined with a smile.
"Did you hear that? Shu is too scared to accept the challenge," Xander said to Aichi.
"Shu isn't scared of anything!" Aichi declared with confidence.
Xander laughed and began playing around with Aichi. "Looks like you have a loyal kid beside you, Shu," he said.
"Aichi is my younger brother, of course he would be," Shu responded with a smile as they began walking again.
"Younger brother? I see… How about we have some fun then, Aichi?" Xander said before starting to run which startled Aichi again. "Don't worry, I'll hold onto you tightly," he assured before climbing quicker. Shu smiled while watching Aichi having fun. "Shu! Are you coming or not?!" Xander shouted from pretty far up. Shu started walking again at a quicker pace.
They soon reached the top and Aichi was let down. "I better get back to training. The trainees aren't going to train themselves," Xander informed.
"Thank you for the help, Xander," Shu thanked with a serious face. He put his hand on Aichi's shoulder and looked at him. "You should thank him too," he said.
"Thank you," Aichi thanked while bowing his head.
"Come by the training room after you're done," Xander said before running off. Aichi turned to Shu who held his hand.
"I'm just here for a check up on my shoulder. After the match with Valt and you disappeared, Xander brought me here to recover," Shu explained. He walked to a house and knocked on the door.
"Come in," a voice inside said. Shu opened the door and entered with Aichi. "Shu, you got here right on time. I see you brought your friend with you," the doctor inside commented while turning his head to see Aichi hiding behind Shu.
"He's my little brother, Aichi," Shu corrected while turning his head to see Aichi. "He's a little shy," he informed after thinking that the doctor might have thought Aichi didn't like him.
"Oh! Is he the boy you were talking about?" The doctor asked.
Shu smiled and said, "he is."
"I see. Can I have you sit here, Shu?" The doctor asked while walking over to the bed near the window. "Aichi, you can just sit on the couch over there," he said. Aichi was hesitant to leave Shu's side and just held onto him.
"Aichi, I'll still be here. I'll be right in front of you," Shu said before taking Aichi to the couch. He lifted Aichi so that he would sit on the couch. Shu then walked to the bed, took off his jacket and sat on it. The doctor sat behind him and started checking Shu's arm.
"Any pain?" The doctor asked.
"No." The doctor began to move up Shu's arm up to his shoulder.
"Alright, let's see how your shoulder healed," the doctor said before feeling around Shu's shoulder. "The swelling went down a lot. I still feel some tension…" he commented.
Aichi was watching worriedly and Shu was able to see his face turn bitter as the doctor began being rougher with him. "It doesn't hurt anymore," Shu said while trying to hurry up the examination.
"How about here?" The doctor asked before touching a certain spot with his thumbs. That spot made Shu flinch.
"Shu!" Aichi cried after getting up from the couch.
"I'm fine. It only hurt a little," Shu assured. The doctor knew that he didn't want Aichi to know about the severity of the injury.
"At this stage of your injury, you'll be able to continue your training, but don't push yourself too hard," the doctor informed.
"But Shu has a team tournament coming up…" Aichi said sadly.
"Shu, you can't participate in this one. If you skip this one, then you will be completely healed for the individual tournament," the doctor informed. He stood up and handed Shu his jacket so that he could put it on. "Shu, if you listen to my advice, you will be going into the individual tournament at your full strength. I hope you think it over," he repeated.
Shu walked to Aichi and patted his head. "Shu… you should drop-out of the team competition," Aichi said concerned.
"I'm fine. Plus, the team needs me," Shu responded.
"Maybe if I take Shu's place in the team… No… I can't measure up with Shu's skill…" Aichi thought sadly.
Shu saw how sad Aichi looked and held his hand. "Let's go see Xander at the training room," he suggested gently. Aichi nodded his head slightly. "Thank you for your time," he thanked while Aichi bowed his head.
"Shu, make sure to come by one more time before the individual tournament," the doctor informed.
"I will!" Shu agreed before walking outside. They walked to the training room and saw Xander practicing with his team.
"Shu! What did grandpa say?" Xander asked after noticing them walk in.
"He gave the okay to battle in the tournament," Shu informed before walking inside.
"That's great. We are doing some battles to determine who the last member of the team will be," Xander explained while watching a match.
"Team?" Aichi asked Shu.
"Xander is a very strong blader and qualified for the national tournament, so he is allowed to compete in the team competition like us," Shu explained.
Aichi thought a little and nodded. He tapped on Shu's shoulder which signaled him to kneel down a little so that Aichi could whisper in his ear. "I want to join too," he whispered.
"Really? But this is for the team, what if you win?" Shu asked jokingly.
"Why not let him join? We have an odd number of participants anyway," Xander agreed. Aichi looked at Shu excited.
"Xander, he is pretty good," Shu warned.
"I'm sure he is. Your match will be after this one," Xander responded before turning to the battle which was just about to finish.
"Let me take your backpack," Shu said before taking off Aichi's backpack for him. Shu opened Aichi's backpack and took out his launcher and Blaster Blade.
"I'll do my best, Shu!" Aichi cheered with a smile before taking his launcher and Beyblade from Shu.
"We have a last minute challenger. So we will have one more battle for this round," Xander informed before turning to Aichi who held his launcher shyly. He walked up and shook his competitor's hand who was much bigger than him weakly.
"I hope we have a good battle," Aichi said nervously.
"You too," his opponent agreed. They both walked to their side of the stadium and got into position. Shu was watching Aichi's stance carefully and saw that he improved a lot.
"First battle!"
"3! 2! 1! Let it rip!" They both launched. Blaster Blade was really fast and circled inwards while his opponent's Beyblade went to occupy the centre.
"Blaster Blade, Burst Blaster!" Aichi declared before Blaster Blade made contact. When he did, his opponent was knocked up into the air and burst.
Everyone looked at Aichi with surprise. His technique was pretty good and his Beyblade was so strong. "Looks like you weren't the only one training, right Shu?" Xander commented while putting his hand on Shu's head.
Aichi picked up his Beyblade and his opponent holding his hand out. "That was a good battle," he said with a smile. The boy looked at Aichi and stood up.
"Right," his opponent responded before shaking Aichi's hand. Afterwards, Aichi walked to Shu's side excitedly.
"Shu, I won," Aichi cheered seeking praise from Shu.
"You improved a lot," Shu praised with a smile before ruffling Aichi's head.
Shu watched the fights Aichi was in closely and everyone was surprised to see that Aichi won the competition. "Wow! Kid, you're amazing! Welcome to the Sword Flames team!" Xander exclaimed before lifting Aichi up and raising him up in the air.
"Mmm…" Aichi muttered nervously. Everyone's eyes were on him which made him blush and shy away from everyone's eyes. He looked over at Shu who was smiling and clapping for him which made him smile a little.
"You trained your brother pretty well, Shu," Xander praised before letting Aichi down in front of Shu.
"Oh! He is Shu's brother! That makes sense now!" People began to talk among each other.
"Wouldn't be interesting if we run into your team in the competition, Shu? You better decide to fight in the battle and we'll send little Aichi out to fight you," Xander said while putting his hand on Aichi's head and ruffled it.
"It's a promise then," Shu said before holding his hand out for a handshake to Aichi.
Aichi smiled and shook Shu's hand. "The first battle between our teams will be the two of you then," Xander announced confidently.
"Xander, we'll be leaving now. It will be dark soon," Shu informed before holding out Aichi's bag so that he could put it on.
"Alright. Aichi, make sure to come here to practice over here every weekend," Xander informed as he lifted Aichi to sit on his shoulder. "I'll take you down the mountain," he said before walking out with Shu.
