Chapter 8: LoZ Twilight Princess part 7
Inside the Snowpeak ruins Link and Midna found a sick female yeti named Yeta, her husband yeto was the yeti they had met before and was making her soup to help her feel better. Yeta gave them directions to the mirror they were looking for that they could navigate to with a mix of hylian, wolf form, and cannons, but she was too sick, and messed up, the first location was too an Ordon Pumpkin, the second was to Ordon Goat Cheese guarded by a monster that carried a heavy ball and chain, that Link took for his own use afterwards, the weapon heavy enough that swinging it had the same force as a cannonball. In fact it was heavy enough that only hagrid of the hogwarts faculty could carry it without magic. Luckily the third location had the key, unfortunately it ended up with the mirror possessing Yeta into Blizzeta. Luckily the ball and chain was powerful enough to free her, and Yeta and Yeto hugged each other with so much love it became physical.
Afterwards Link and Midna headed to Faron Woods, and used a golden cuccoo Rusl called to get back to the sacred grove, after another playdate with Skull Kid. Once there Link temporarily placed the Master Sword back in the pedestal opening a portal in the back of the area.
"That's another one." Midna noted after they went through.
"Another what?" Link asked.
"We are in the past." Midna said. "Including the method we just used that makes 8 methods of time travel I know about, from reading about them in the Twilight Library"
"8 methods?" Link asked curious.
"The first is the gate of Time used by the first hero to go thousands of years in the past. And return." Midna explained. "The second are the time shift stones which are mobile stones that when hit sends the area around the stone into the state it was thousands of years ago. Third is the master sword which sent the hero of time into a seven year slumber, when he was deemed too young, and afterwards could be used to travel 7 years back in time to his younger body when he needed to do something with his younger body in the past. Fourth is the Ocarina of time which can be used to play the song of time, to slow down, or speed up the flow of time, or to travel back in time to a specific point in time. If you know how. The records we have said this was used by the hero of time safely, but when the princess of the time tried to use it after his quest was over she messed up and caused time itself to break, and the gods had to personally intervene by creating 3 seperate timelines to stop the destruction of everything from time breaking. It was felt even in the Twilight realm. Anyway the fith is using the Ocarina of time to play the song of double time which lets you warp into the future at any point within the next three days if you are skilled, or 12 hours in the future if not. The sixth is used by the hero of labrynna, a country near Hyrule in times of need, and is called the Harp of ages which can be used to travel four hundred years in the past and create time portals on the ground that allow anyone who steps on them to travel between the present and the past. The seventh is less obvious time travel, and is used by the hero of Holodrum, another country near hyrule in times of need. It is called the Rod of seasons, and change the seasons of an area from Spring, to summer, to fall, to winter, to spring and so forth but only in the area it is used in. Changing seasons is technically changing the time of year so it counts. And According to the records the master sword was protected by the door of time, and now I know it is called that because it is time travel method number 8. Still while we are here be very careful. We do not want to cause another incident like the princess from the hero of time's era."
"Right." Link said agreeing, he then temporarily placed the master sword back in the pedestal again, this time summoning stairs made of light to the temple. Behind an illusioned door. Though before they could get up they had to avoid Ooccoo a being that looked like a chicken with a human head that ran up past them, having arrived through the door of time. As they entered the temple of light.
Meanwhile at Hogwarts
Dumbledore and his staff continue observing Midna and Link's quest and they're shocked to see a good natured Yeti.
they then see Link collect and use the Ball and Chain which is a weapon that is used like a shotput that's seen in the muggle olympic games and are shocked that Link can throw it without getting winded.
when they see Yeta and Yeto show they affection for each other Dumbledore says " this is just one more example that Love has a power unrivaled by any other emotion." and his staff agree with him.
when they hear that Hyrule has eight methods to manipulate time itself they are shocked and appalled that the Princess of the era of the Hero of Time made such a massive mistake and are worried why there haven't been any time paradoxes due to meddling with time.
Din answer that question with " anyone here heard of Dalton's law of thermodynamics?"
Severus says "I have it can be summed up to energy not being able to create or destroy but can be transformed into something else."
Nayru says "that's a good summary and the reason it matters in this case is that the Hero of Time for example was going from his child body to his adult body and back again with the Master Sword and its pedastal as a catalyst. so he couldn't risk a time paradox at all."
Farore then said "the Princess of the Hero of Time's era did cause a time paradox but my sisters and I along with the pantheons you're familiar with like the greek olympic gods such as Zeus, Hades and Poseidon fixed it by allowing three primary timelines to co-exist. there's a timeline where the Hero of Time died before he could save Hyrule called the fallen hero timeline, this timeline we're in is called the child timeline where upon being returned to his child body and putting the Master Sword to rest warns the Hyrule royal family of Ganondorf's true intentions and he's sealed via the Mirror of Twilight. and the adult timeline where the Hero of Time defeats Ganondorf and the latter is sealed in the Sacred Realm."
with that said they go back to watching Midna and Link's quest to save Hyrule.

Next Time: Link and Midna do everything there is to do in the Temple of Time and make their way to the final Mirror of Twilight shard in the Sky Temple.
