Jacques captures and tortures Jason.

"Wake up!"

Jason was shocked awake and looked around, his visor had be removed somewhere between the attack at his and Weiss's reception and now, but he could see, and that was his biggest advantage.

"Who's there!?" He asked.

"I see that without that visor you're blind."

"Jacques?!"

"Yes! And I'm going kill you for taking what is mine!"

"Weiss!?"

"NO! My company!"

"You lost your company because you got greedy!"

"NO! You took my company from me, and I will rip everything you care about from you!"

Jason tried moving but felt his arm restrained. "Where am I!" His shout reverberated through the air and showed him that he was hanging in the air from chains, one on each limb and a collar around his neck chained to the ceiling. The chains were connected to a Lightning Dust Generator.

Finally, he saw that he was in the Atlas Dust Mines.

"You Are somewhere that no one will ever find you!" Jacques laughed. "I will torture you for taking my company, kill you, and be on my way, and before you try using your Semblance, don't! I Cut off Your Aura, therefore cutting off your Semblance."

"Good luck!" Jason yelled. "Better people than you have tortured me, and I haven't broken yet."

"That's because they didn't have my resources." Jacques boasted.

"What resources?! Last time I checked you're so broke you'd sell your wrinkled old dick for a candy bar!"

Jacques pressed something and the generator whirred to life sending electricity coursing through Jason's body.

Jason didn't know how long Jacques shocked him, but when he stopped screaming and was able to get his breathing under control, he felt that he'd lost control of his bowels and bladder and had soiled himself.

"Okay, okay." He spoke. "You humiliated me. You can let me go now."

"Not until I've ripped everything you care about away from you."

Jason thought about that. There was a lot of stuff, people mostly, that he cared about, but the less Jacques knew, the better.

"Since I've got you here. I'd like to make some compliments."

"You think you're in charge here!?" Jacques asked.

"No," Jason said. "You are. That's why I have complaints. First off. You were a terrible parental figure. You're nothing more than a waste of seed. Weiss would have been better off if Willow was able to reproduce asexually.

And another thing! You broke Weiss, something I will never forgive you for. It's not fair what you did to her. Her light was bright and blue, but that didn't matter to you. You took her heart, the heart of a ten year old girl, and made her grow up too fast!"

Jason stopped to take a breath and Jacques hit the button again, shocking him, holding it longer than last time.

When Jason came to, he wasn't sure how much time had passed, but it had been a while.

"Any other complaints?" Jacques asked.

"Yeah." Jason croaked before clearing his throat. "This is the worst hospital I've ever been in."

"Hospital!?" Jacques snapped.

"Yeah. This Place is Somewhere I don't want to be, with terrible service, and the food is shit."

"You still think this is a game!"

"Kind of. You're Just a terrible sore loser."

"Why... you!" Jacques blustered.

"Now, where did I leave off. Oh yeah. Growing up Weiss had to look at your ugly ass face. That's enough to give anyone nightmares. I'm just glad that you took my visor so I can't see your nut sack of a face."

Jason could hear Jacques gritting his teeth and knew that he touched a nerve.

"I bet you have to pay people double to have sex with you."

Jacques hit the button and Jason blacked out.

Jason came back to consciousness with the taste of copper in his mouth.

"That was clever." Jacques Said. "Trying to get me angry enough to put your visor back on. Clever."

"Actually no." Jason wheezed. "It was dumb. There was a fifty percent chance that you'd have put my visor back on. Sorry, but I don't want to look at Jacques syphilis."

Jacques grit his teeth again and Jason heard something break.

"Now. Where was I? Oh right. You may have put Weiss through hell, but you won't be able to break her. She's got the heart of a lion and a forge in her soul. You're Not Breaking her. You on the other hand, even pregnant she could beat your ass up one wall and down the other. I'd watch and eat popcorn while she did it. Speaking of Weiss, do you know what time it is? I'm supposed to pick up Weiss and either sing a song or pick up the tab. I'd much rather pick up the tab than sing, not because I have the money, but because I hate singing. Unless it's the "Jacques Syphilis song." Here, let me try." Jason cleared his throat and donned a gravelly voice that he made sound like an old guy: "All I want is money, more money, money, money, money! I need money. I need to live comfortably for the rest of my three year life. I already have billions, but I need more, more! More I Tell you! I would sell my family for money if I could get away with it! Money, money, money!"

Jason cleared his throat. "So, how did I do?"

Jacques hit the button and Jason blacked out again.

Jason woke up and realized that he was crying, only it wasn't tears, from the smell of it, it was blood. He couldn't take many more shocks, two, maybe three. He needed to let Jacques "kill" him.

"Welcome back. Are you ready to stop acting like a child?"

"Do you sell opera glasses?" Jason asked seriously.

"What!?"

"Opera Glasses, do you sell them? I need them to watch the opera."

"Why would you need Opera Glasses in the Mines!"

"To. Watch. The. Opera." Jason enunciated. "Are you deaf? Do I need to speak up?" Jason took in a deep breath and lowered his hearing down to the lowest hearing he could. "DO YOU SELL OPERA GLASSES FOR THE OPERA!"

The mine shook with the vibrations of Jason's shout and Jacques fell to the floor. Jason swung in the air by the chains.

"Don't do that!" Jacques shouted. "You'll collapse the mine in us!"

Jason knew how thick the rocks were. Him collapsing the mine on them wasn't as much of a possibility as Jacques thought it was.

"So, is that a no?" Jason asked.

"A no for what?!"

"The Opera Glasses? Do you have them or don't you?"

"NO!"

"Then why the hell did you bring me to the opera!?"

"I didn't!"

"Then why did you say that you did!?"

"I didn't!"

"Oh! So, you're calling me a liar now?"

"WHAT!?"

"Just push the button again!"

Jacques did so and Jason passed out.

Jason woke up in a room. He looked around and realized that it was his old bedroom when he was growing up.

"AHHH!" A much younger Jason shouted, waking up from a nightmare that Jason could barely remember now.

Clifford came running in, and Jason thought it was odd how the Cliff from this... whatever, looked the same age as the last time he saw Cliff.

"Master Jason! It's just a nightmare. Should I call Dr. Thompkins?"

"No!" The younger Jason snapped. "No! She'll make me do things!"

"She could help." Cliff urged.

"I said no!"

Clifford sighed before he grew concerned. "Master Jason? I could show you how to make a Mindscape. At least you could get some sleep."

"How do I do that?"

"Calm your mind and imagine a place that you feel safe."

"Loki's hideout!"

"Okay, okay." Cliff soothed. "Imagine Loki's hideout. Imagine it perfectly and think about it. Think about it until it forms inside your mind."

"How long will that take?"

"As long as it takes, I'm afraid."

Jason snapped back and looked around. He was bleeding from his ears now. He didn't think he could take two more, so he hoped that Jacques would leave after he did kill him.

"Where do you get off telling me what to do!" Jacques demanded! "Do you think that you're the one in control here!?"

"Actually, yeah." Jason croaked out. "I've been playing you since the very beginning. I excel at being annoying. Just ask Weiss."

"I'll show you who's in charge!" Jacques roared. "Without your Aura you're nothing! You don't have your Aura! You don't have your Semblance! I have my Aura! I have my Semblance! I'm the one in charge here!"

"Just keep telling yourself that Jacques Syphilis."

Jacques grit his teeth and went to press the button. "You want me to press the button, don't you."

"If it will get me away from you for five minutes, hell yes!"

"You think you can disrespect me like that!"

"No. I know I can, and you're going to push the button again."

"Why!"

"Because. You need to be in control, and even though I'm in control you think that by pushing the button it will give you control, plus, I'm really annoying. You want to kill me, you want to kill me and go check on Watts."

"Oh Yes. I can tell him to rip that... abomination out of Weiss, so I can hand her off to Marigold."

"Wait! What!" Jason said.

Jacques pressed the button and Jason passed out again.

Jason was on the streets shortly after Shiera was murdered.

He was walking around when he saw something lying on the streets. It was a dog that had been injured and was dying.

"I can make the pain go away." The much younger Jason said.

The dog looked into Jason's eyes as if begging him to end its suffering.

Jason looked at the dog and put it out of its misery.

Jason was now bleeding out of his nose, but he couldn't worry about that.

"I think you unlocked some repressed memories with those last two shocks." He spoke. "I'm not saying it was a bad gift but try harder. Now. What did you say about Weiss?"

"I'm going to rip that abomination out of her and give her mutilated body to Arthur Marigold!" Jacques said.

"That's what I Though you said, and what did you say about your Semblance?"

"It nullifies the Semblances of those I look at, except my family. It doesn't work on them for some reason, but it works on you."

"Then I have just one more thing to say."

"What!"

"Don't let your Aura drain." Jason said in a voice that froze the marrow in Jacques bones.

"Why!?" Jacques demanded, trying to hide the fear in his voice.

"Because the second Your Aura dies, im going to kill you."

"I won't let you!"

"You don't have a choice! You can threaten me! You can threaten my company! But the second you threaten Weiss or our child... LET'S JUST SAY SOMETHING INSIDE ME WAKES UP! I know Weiss! She's strong, stronger than me, and I won't let you hurt her! She is a Lioness and will protect our child, but me! I'm something more sinister! I'm a beast or a monster! I'll kill you for even thinking badly about Weiss! Now! Tell me! How much Aura do you have left!"

Jacques looked down at his Scroll and saw that his Aura was at 1%. He took off Running and as he did, his Aura faded and Jason's Aura came crashing back to him, healing the majority of the damage he'd taken.

A shadow appeared and from the shadow, a dog summons appeared.

"Sick 'im!" Jason shouted.

The Dog Summons chased after Jacques, jumped, flew through the air, and tackled Jacques before ripping his throat out.

Jason was about to pass out so his body could recover when he felt Weiss's soul beg him to hurry. He gripped the chains that held him and pulled, ripping them out of the wall and landed in a three point landing. He disappeared into a shadow and appeared outside a building. Why hadn't he appeared outside of Weiss's shadow? Did he have a maximum range? Was it Because he was exhausted from the torture? Questions for later. He kicked open the door and said: "Weiss. I'm here. Do I need to sing a song or pick up the tab?"

"Just get in here." Weiss said, sounding exhausted, and relieved.

"WEISS!" Jason shouted, running in and saw Weiss on the floor in the center of a summoning circle with hundreds of grotesque looking arms around her. He walked forward and knelt down next to Weiss.

He realized why he'd seen Cliff explaining the mindscape. His mindscape had the ability to slow time, eight hours was the equivalent of six months which meant that his Mindscape was nearly 548 times faster than reality. Which meant that one second was about nine minutes so seven seconds was about an hour. Which meant that one minute was about 23 days inside his Mindscape. That should be enough time for Weiss to recover.

He picked Weiss up and they disappeared into his mindscape. When they arrived, he made a very important discovery. "I thought I got rid of you." he said, looking up at his mansion in Vale. To the right was Loki's hideout, his original mindscape. To the left was a simple cabin in a thicket.

He took Weiss to the cabin and laid her on the bed. He felt agony, looking down at her bruised and battered body. She shouldn't have had to endure such brutality.

"Watts better thank the nonexistent Brothers that you were the one to kill him. If he were still alive, I would kill him slowly, so slowly that he'd think he was in hell only to end up in hell after I'd killed him, and he realized that he'll was a nicer place."

'Drama Queen.' He felt Weiss's soul rib him.

Jason took off what little clothes she had and began wiping the sweat from her body before he washed it as best, he could.

He worked her into an oversized night dress and allowed her to sleep.

'You should sleep too.' Her soul said.

Jason realized that he was still wearing soiled clothes. "Heh." He gave a watery laugh. "I guess you can take the boy out of the street, but you can't take the street out of the boy."

He walked to the bathroom and showered like he'd not showered in a long time, scrubbing every inch of his body under scalding water, and keeping his sense of touch on full. He deserved to feel just as much if not more pain than Weiss.

"Ya know!" Dr. Quinn said, her obnoxiously loud accent breaking through his thoughts. "Self-Harm ain't gonna undo what Watts did ta Weiss."

"No, but it'll make me feel better."

"Wow. I'm not sure what's more pathetic. The fact that you're a MEGA Drama Queen, or the fact that you could actually be the Dark Mother's spawn."

Dr. Quinn backflipped away from Jason's grasp and pirouetted out of the way of his shadow arms. "Touched a nerve, didn't I?" She smiled an almost evil smile.

"Don't ever compare me to those monsters again!" Jason snapped.

"Then stop actin' like One!" Dr. Quinn snapped back. "I'm an illusion! You summoned me buddy. Subconsciously You knew that you needed help, and I showed up! Don't get pissed at me for tellin' you what you're already thinkin'!"

Jason sighed. He knew that she was right but hated that she was. He walked back into the shower to finish.

"Hey! Ya know that you kinda shit yourself, right?"

Jason flipped her off and closed the shower door behind him.

"No thanks! I've got Ivy, and she's way prettier than you, and probably fucks better too!"

Dr. Quinn disappeared and Jason showered in peace.

When he finished showering, he toweled off and crawled into bed next to Weiss.

'You shouldn't beat yourself up.' Weiss's soul scolded him gently. 'It doesn't help anyone, and plus. How would you feel if I hurt myself every time you got hurt.'

"Don't do that."

'Then why do you!'

Jason realized what she meant and decided to stop. "Okay. I won't do it anymore."

'You know that I'll know if you break your promise right, and that will just hurt me.'

Jason made a vow that he wouldn't.

Weiss's soul caressed his and the two fell asleep.

Weiss spent the next 22 days in a coma, leaving Jason to worry. To keep himself occupied he walked around his Mindscape. It seemed that he had a lot of catching up to do.

He was looking up at his mansion and was shocked by the fact that it was still around, Loki's hideout too. He wasn't sure how.

"It's because this is not Your mindscape Master Todd." Cliff Said.

"What do you mean it's not?" Jason asked.

"When I instructed you to build your mindscape, I was unaware of your Semblance, Penumbra Barrage. I thought I'd instructed you to create a mindscape, but what you did was use Penumbra Barrage to create a Shadow Realm for yourself. It's quite similar to a Mindscape with the exception that you can bring people into a Shadow Realm, not a Mindscape."

"I let Loki inside while at Beacon."

"Yes, but it was a Shadow Realm That you let her into, not a mindscape."

Jason thought about that. "I see."

"Yes. Should there be anything else Master Todd?"

Jason wanted so desperately to hear the words that he wanted Cliff to say, but it wouldn't be Cliff, it would be him making a shadow clone of Cliff say the things that he wanted to hear. He closed his eyes and tried to keep the tears from escaping. He'd never be able to hear what he wanted Cliff to say.

"I am proud of the man you've become." Cliff said. "You have been dealt a bad hand and managed to claw your way to the top. Are you a perfect man? No, no one in this world is perfect, but you are a good man."

Jason lost his composure and fell to his knees, sobbing. It was what he wanted to hear, and Cliff, not him, but Cliff, had said it.

Jason decided to train his new Semblance that he'd used to summon the dog. It was almost like Weiss had given him a portion of her Semblance through the soul bond. He wondered if he'd given her anything?

He focused on summoning the dog and before he knew it, a white dog had appeared from the shadows.

He knelt down and held his hand out toward the dog who padded over and sniffed his hand. The dog sat and panted at him.

"So, you feel no ill will towards me for killing you?"

The dog sneezed and shook its head.

Jason scratched the dog behind the ears and the dog panted happily.

Jason and the dog walked around the Shadow Realm, the dog padding alongside Jason's heel.

"I guess that you need a name." He spoke.

The dog looked up at him and seemed to give the equivalent of a doggy shrug.

"How about 'Dog'?"

Dog whined.

"Sorry, I'm not very Good at names."

Dog huffed.

They walked until Jason walked into the cabin and sat next to Weiss's side of the bed, Dog laying at his feet.

Jason took Weiss's hand and begged gods he didn't believe in to help her come back.

Jason spent some time sparring, trying to keep himself honed. He didn't know what the others had in store for his friends and family, but it couldn't be anything good.

He jumped through Shadow Clones oh himself to travel and had weapons shoot out of his shadows, the shadows of his shadow clones, and his shadow clones themselves before catching them, swinging them, and throwing them back at his shadows to absorb them.

He absorbed weapons into the shadows of his clothes and pulled them out. He threw Weapons into shadows and had them launch out of the shadows in his clothes.

The next thing was tricker. He'd need a lot more practice. He was trying to make stocks and pillory out of the shadows, but he wasn't having much success.

Finally, it was day 23, and Weiss was still unconscious. So, Jason bathed her, washed her, pampered her. He brushed and styled her hair into a ponytail and painted her nails with clear nail polish.

He applied a thin layer of makeup and dressed her in an outfit.

When he was done, he picked her up and they stepped outside his Shadow Realm.

Weiss opened her eyes and crashed into Jason and started crying.

"If you hadn't, I would have." Jason said."

Weiss just sobbed louder.

Hey." Jason soothed. "It's okay. You're okay Now. You're Safe."

"I was so scared!" She sobbed. "I thought he was going to take the baby! I was so scared I was going to lose you both!"

"Hey, hey. You're okay. We're okay. I'm okay, the baby's okay." He took her hand and held it to his face before holding it to her stomach so she could feel the baby. He knew that she could feel the baby she was carrying, but he thought that the situation called for redundancy.

She kissed his cheek causing him to chuckle.

He looked over at what was left of Watts. "So..." he said. "I see that you fisted Watts to death. Top marks."

"Jason!" Weiss snapped. "He was about to sexually assault me! Of course, I killed him!"

That caught Jason off guard, and he grit his teeth. That bastard had not only tortured Weiss, but he'd tried sexually assaulting her. "Weiss. I'm sorry. I didn't mean..."

"I know!" Weiss snapped. "Where are the others?"

"I'll find them." Jason said. "But first..."

They went outside and Jason looked at the building. Now was as good a time as any to see if his threat was empty. "I threatened Ironwood I would do this..." he explained. "...now it's time to see if it was an empty threat."

"What are you talking about?" Weiss asked before Jason dropped the building into a shadow and threw it at Atlas.

"Good to know it's not an empty threat." Jason said, taking Weiss's hand, and pulled her towards the other side of Mantle.

"Jason! What was that?"

"I threw a building." Jason explained. "I threatened Ironwood that if he threatened you or the baby again that I would throw Atlas. I didn't know if I could, but that proved that I could. Now let's go save our friends."

"Okay." Weiss said as they ran for the other side of Mantle.
