I was supposed to write the next chapter of my other fic, but I had way too much fun writing this one. This time I won't make any promises.

The time for the Entrance Exam has come. 'And I can already see Main Character-kun' Just as Maeve was entering U.A's premises, she could see none other than Midoriya Izuku, this world's "Main Character". 'Aaaand he tripped…' As it happened in the Anime, One for All's Inheritor tripped just as he was about to take his"First step into becoming a hero!", but was saved by none other than 'Cute girl spotted! Uraraka to the rescue!'. The two entered a conversation if it can even be called that, since Mutter boy did not utter a word.
After witnessing the iconic scene, Maeve kept walking into the building, passing by the stunned protagonist.
Following the directions in the building, the Rune user arrived at the room where the written exam would take place. There was still some time left, so she decided to see if she had everything ready.
The practical exam did not ban support items (though they had to be somewhat related to the quirk, or you had to be someone with a non-combatant quirk), so she brought a bag with 3 lead spheres inscribed with the runes for Fragarach, 2 markers, a pair of non-prescription glasses inscribed with Opila, and a pair of gloves inscribed with the runes Ehwaz, Sowilu, Berkana, and Hagalaz. Apart from that, she had a set of clothes in a separate bag for use in the exam, those were also inscribed with multiple runes.
Looking around the room, she noticed some familiar faces. Way in the front, there was the frog girl Tsuyu Asui 'Cute girl #2 spotted!', In one of the corners, there was a speech bubble 'I'm pretty sure that's one of the class 1-B students… how does he eat?'.
"The written exam is about to start!" shouted one of the examiners who seemed to be a student.
Taking deep breaths, Maeve held up her pencil. 'Here's hoping the exam isn't that hard,'
'That was less nerve-wracking than I thought… I guess it makes sense, I already knew most of the things in the exam, not that it wasn't hard' Maeve thought.
Right now, she was making her way into the orientation for the practical exam.
Entering the room and taking a good look, she noticed more of the main cast 'Bakugo and Midoriya are seated together… Is Midoriya a masochist? Hmm, there's Vine girl… Is she praying? There's Jiro, Ojiro, Koda… yeah, pretty much everyone that isn't a recommended student.'
"Hey, Maeve! Come sit here!" Shouted Kirishima, trying to get Maeve's attention, she responded with a peace sign.
"Yo," Maeve said, then proceeded to bump fists with Kirishima.
"Are those tattoos?" Asked Kirishima, looking at the back of Maeve's hands, they were inscribed with the Ehwaz, Sowilu, Berkana, and Hagalaz. After discovering that she could activate runes written by others, as long as she touched them after, she finally decided to get tattoos.
"Yeah, they are for my quirk, It's kind of a pain having to rewrite them all the time, so I opted for a more permanent solution," Replied Maeve. "Are you ready for the practical exam by the way?"
"Yeah! Though I'm not so sure about the written exam…" Said Kirishima with a sigh.
"You'll do good, don't worry man. Even if it's not enough to pass, I'm sure you'll do great in the practical." Maeve reassured.
The lights in the room start to light up, and the screen at the front of the room turns on and shows the logo of U.A. High School. In front of the screen, there is a man in a mostly black outfit with shoulder pads, a red belt, long blond hair styled in an upward spike, and a directional speaker obscuring his neck. 'That's… Present Mic was his Hero Name, right?'
"For all you examinee listeners tuning in, welcome to my show today! Everybody say "Hey"!" The Voice hero said.
"..."
"What a refined response,"
'I actually kind of wanted to respond… but it's so embarrassing!...' Thought Maeve with a light blush
After another attempt at getting a response out of the audience, and some Fanboying and mumbling from a certain Broccoli, Present Mic proceeded to explain how the Exam would work.
The exam would be separated into 7 Battle centers from A to G 'I got E it seems.', and it would consist of a ten-minute mock urban battle against robotic "Faux Villains", There would be 3 types of villains that give from 1 to 3 points, without counting the fourth "0 pointer" that is basically a massive obstacle.
'I wonder if I can defeat it… Fragarach may do the trick but it may be too tiny… Though if I can get the help of someone with a Size quirk…' Maeve stealthily looked to her left, There, a girl with black hair in a Bob was sitting, Yui Kodai. A mostly unimportant character from the future class 1-B, apart from her role in the Joint Training arc, she had the ability to change the size of inanimate objects with her quirk, aptly named "Size".
How does Maeve remember Yui Kodai, a character with barely any presence in the story, when she can't remember other 1-B students apart from Itsuka Kendo, Tetsutetsu Tetsutetstu, and Neito Monoma you may ask? Because she is into Kuuderes of course. 'Also she is really pretty… hehe' Maeve thought, with a smile and a tiny blush.
Absolutely head over heels as you can see.
Maeve stealthily looked to the left, at the card that Yui had in her hands. 'Examinee number 2003… Test Location: Battle Center E! Nice!... Now the problem is starting a conversation… Umm… I-I'll do it later…'
Wimp.
"I got Battle Center C, What about you?" Asked Kirishima.
"Battle Center E, Good luck to you, Kirishima"
"Good luck to you too, Maeve," Said Kirishima. They high-fived and went into the changing rooms.
Because of her circumstances, Maeve went into one of the bathrooms to change. Doesn't matter that she is a girl now, she still was once a straight man, hence now is pretty much a lesbian.
She changed into a pair of black track pants, a black hoodie (both inscribed with Dagaz for some nice airflow), a pair of cheap sports shoes, a pair of black gloves, a bag with three lead spheres for Fragarach, and glasses with Opila. After that, she searched for the bus and entered it.
"Holy shit that's a massive door"
Maeve was currently waiting in front of the entrance for the exam to start. Looking around she could see some familiar faces, Apart from Yui Kodai there was Itsuka Kendo, a floating set of clothes that she could identify as Hagakure Tooru, Mezo Shoji, Hanta Sero, and a girl with horns that Maeve was sure was also from 1-B.
'I'll stay at the back of the pack and use Algiz to leap over everyone' Recently she discovered that while using the "Shoot" Algiz rune on footwear, she could "Shoot" herself really high in the air, as such, she decided to use this to get ahead of everyone else. 'I should make a jumping rune later, I absolutely forgot about that, Algiz may be a bit unreliable for this usage…'
While everyone was distracted talking to each other, the doors opened. "Okay, start!"
Taking that as her cue, Maeve activated all of the runes on her foot and shoes, then getting into position, activated Algiz. "Huup!" The force of the leap cracked the floor a bit, and she leaped into the air. She analyzed the ground and found a single Faux Villain worth 1 point close to where she would land, as such, she prepared for a kick that would destroy the villain in a single kick. "Haaah!" The Robot exploded into pieces and the landing was perfect. 'That's 1 point'
Looking around, she found another two 1-pointers and one 2-pointer, and she started running in their direction. "Target Acquired. Prepare to die!" One of the Villains said before she delivered a punch in one of its arms, then kicked it in the face, destroying the Faux Villain, Without stopping, she repeated the process with the other 1-pointer.
The 2-pointer, which looked like a spider-scorpion hybrid rapidly approached Maeve, but she leaped back, and with the help of Algiz, shot herself straight into the robot with her hand in a punch and punched it in the face. '5 points right at the start, amazing'
By this point, the other contestants finally got out of their stupors and ran into the city. Deciding that it was not worth it to stay too close to other contestants, she used Algiz again to shoot herself, going through a 1-pointer and leaving her close to a single 3-pointer, which she defeated after some struggle.
"Eight minutes left!"
A distance back, Maeve could see how Yui approached the Robots and shrank them before stomping on them. 'She seems to be doing great… shit I should ask her to help me with the Zero-pointer… but how do I bring it up…' she thought while destroying another 1-pointer, making it 15 points.
Just a couple of meters ahead of her, Maeve saw how one of the Examinees was about to be attacked by a 2-pointer. Activating Algiz, she shot herself straight into the robot, destroying it. "T-Thanks…" Said the examinee. "No worries man, keep going" Maeve responded, helping him stand up, then she used Algiz again to leap into the air and search for more robots after making sure he was okay.
"Six minutes left!"
–Observer room for recommended students–
In the room, there were Shoto Todoroki, Momo Yaoyorozu, Setsuna Tokage, and Juzo Honenuki. These are the people who entered U.A. through a special recommendation,
'There are some strong quirks there…' Momo Yaoyorozu said, looking at Bakugo on the screen, he was tearing through multiple Faux Villains with ease. 'Quite wild though… But that girl at the start, leaped through all of the examinees just as Present Mic initiated the exam… she was totally prepared for something like that. Is that a strength quirk? But I'm pretty sure I saw her use some fire at times… Also, what's with that bag?' she thought, looking at the bag that Maeve was carrying 'Is it some kind of support item? Oh.. She is using it… are those… spheres? Lead spheres?'
–Mock City–
Maeve pulls a lead sphere out of the bag and activates it, A blue energy is emitted by the lead sphere and Maeve's right hand, projecting three short blades at different points in the sphere. 'Berkana, Sowilu…' With force, she punches it, sending it spinning toward four 3-pointers, cutting them in different ways. "That's 33 Villain points," Maeve said, cleaning some sweat accumulated on her forehead.
"That should be enough to let me enter U.A., considering that I should have some rescue points from the 4 people I saved" She then proceeded to grab the lead sphere, activating it again, this time morphing it into the form of a small shield to protect herself from the attack of a 3-pointer, then punching the shield to send back the robot before using Algiz to approach the robot and punching it. '36 Villain points'
"Four minutes left!"
–Observer room for recommended students–
"It's not a strength Quirk?! What are those spheres?!" Said the rich girl.
"What do you mean? Which screen?" Asked a man with exposed teeth, Juzo Honenuki.
"That one right there. Is that part of her Quirk? I was sure she had some kind of strength quirk since she tore through the robots with ease, and her hands and feet were glowing blue, but then she set fire to one of the robots, then she started throwing around those spheres! I don't know what kind of quirk she has…" Said Yaoyorozu.
In the screen, it could be seen how Maeve was attacking four 1-pointers with a mix of punches, kicks, and a sphere that had thick spikes across its surface, coupled with movement that while not that of an expert, was enough to let her evade most if not all of the attacks thrown her way.
"I would think someone like her would enter with a special recommendation…" Said Juzo.
Two 2-pointers were rapidly approaching her position, before they could get to her, a spearhead and a handle appeared on the surface of the sphere. "A spear?!" Honenuki, Yaoyorozu, and Tokage said in unison, while Todoroki watched with interest.
–Mock City–
Using Algiz to propel herself, Maeve impaled one of the 2-pointers, then she lifted the spear with the robot still impaled, and slammed it into the other robot, destroying both of them. "44 Villain points… hmm, the spear is kind of hard to use…" Maeve said, holding the spear on her shoulder and looking around. "How about a sword? Double swords? It should be worth practicing using these weapons to couple my hand-to-hand combat."
A rumble ran through the earth 'Is that the Zero-pointer?' A massive robot appeared, holding two buildings and proceeding to destroy them 'Holy shit'. A mob of people started to run in the opposite direction, some falling behind 'They won't be able to run in time! Where is Yui?' Looking at the people falling behind, there was Yui Kodai at the back, who seemed exhausted 'Ok… now or never!' With Algiz, she leaped into the air and landed close to Yui "Hey! You have a Size Quirk right?" Asked Maeve.
"Two minutes left!"
"Umm… yes… Why?" Said Yui in between breaths.
"There are way too many people falling behind, I need your help to save them,"
"But i… Can't approach the robot" she said.
"No worries, I just need you to enlarge this," Maeve said, pulling one of the lead spheres out of her bag.
"What are you gonna do?" Asked Yui.
"You'll see, just do it. We are wasting time" With a nod, Yui touched the sphere.
"I'll approach the robot, I'll tell you when to activate your quirk," Maeve said, then used Algiz to approach the robot. It noticed her and proceeded to attack her, but because of the size, the attack seemed slow. "Now! As big as you can" Maeve said, throwing the sphere into the air to make sure it doesn't hit her. The sphere then enlarged.
"Answerer" That Which Comes Later Cuts First.
The sphere levitated on top of Maeve's fist, and it started to shine. a ring appeared out of nowhere and circled the sphere, and then, a massive sword sprouted on the surface of the sphere, a strange blue energy enveloping the weapon of Celtic Mythology. Maeve got into position to hit the backside of the weapon, and a pattern with multiple runes appeared in between her fist and the sphere.
The robot's attack was about to reach Maeve, Normally this would have spelled her demise, but… just as it was about to reach…
Maeve punched the weapon with all her strength.
"FRAGARACH!" Gouging Sword of the War God.
The robot seemed to move its arm back.
A massive blue ray pierced through the robot's arm, shoulder, and a bit of the torso. Then it proceeded to fall back and explode from the attack.
"...Holy shit," Said one of the examinees that stayed in the back, watching how the robot exploded and the lights on its head turned off.
Yui watched with wide eyes the same thing. "...!" Maeve had a big part of her clothes completely destroyed, leaving that part in only her sports bra, and seemed to stagger. Yui ran and grabbed her before she fell on the pavement.
"Hehe… So that's how it works… There is a bit of kickback but it's not that bad… It uses too much juice though… I'm sleepy… Ugh everyone can see my sports bra… that's embarrassing…" Maeve seemed to notice who was holding her. "Hey… can you take care of me for a while? I'm about to pass out… Maybe a lap pillow?" She asked.
Yui seemed a bit taken aback by the request but still agreed. "...Ok, just rest for now," she said.
"...Nice" Maeve said, before passing out.
Yui sat on the ground in a seiza position, and carefully put the sleeping Maeve on her lap. Then she looked at the now-destroyed Zero-pointer.
"Mm… What a weird person," Yui said with an almost unnoticeable smile.
"One minute left!"
–Observer room for recommended students–
Yaoyorozu, Honenuki, and Tokage looked mouth-agape at the scene.
Juzo was the first to break the silence. "I really can't figure out her Quirk… Strength? Fire? Weapons? That?!" He said, pointing at the destroyed robot. "What is it?!"
"I really don't know…" Said Yaoyorozu.
"I just hope she is in the same class as me," Said Tokage.
"Same," said Juzo, Yaoyorozu shared the same sentiment.
In another one of the chairs, a bicolored-haired young man looked at the screen in silent interest.
"Oh, look! That kid over there also defeated the Zero-Pointer!"
–Observer room for faculty–
A man with blond hair observed the screen with a mix of pride and fear. Pride because of the feat the young man, his successor, just accomplished. Fear because of the abilities one of the examinees showed, which looked like multiple quirks. "Is she…"
~4 Hours later~
Maeve currently lay in her bed, looking at the ceiling, worries in her mind.
It wasn't that she thought she might not pass, it really wasn't. If anything, she was sure she passed with flying colors, with all the Villain points she accumulated and the rescue points, of which she still did not know how they were counted.
It was another reason that had her worried… or embarrassed really. "WAAAH I REALLY ASKED HER THAT AHHHHHHH!" Maeve said, falling off her bed and proceeding to roll around her floor. 'I was way out of it dammit… hopefully, she doesn't think I'm a creep.' she said, the biggest blush of her life on her face.
"..."
"..."
"I wonder if she did it… he… hehe"
That may make her think you are creepy.
~1 week later~
Maeve was currently writing ideas for new combinations and runes for her quirk when a knock was heard on the door. "Hm?" She stood up from her chair, walked to the door, and opened it. "Yes?"
"Delivery for Miss Brennan from U.A." The courier said, giving Maeve an envelope with the U.A. logo. "Oh, thanks!" she said, taking the envelope.
"Have a good day and good luck" Said the courier, Maeve just gave him a smile and nod.
Sitting on her chair, she opened the envelope. When a device fell to the ground, it proceeded to project a holographic image with All Might in the center. "I am here as a projection!"
"AHH! I forgot about this… that was a scare…" Said Maeve, startled.
"You may ask why I'm the one presenting your results. Well, that is because from today onwards I'll be teaching at U.A.!"
'Already knew that' thought Maeve.
"Now, I will now show you your results in the Practical Exam." All Might said, then on the screen appeared a list of the top 10 examinees.
1.- Maeve Brennan - 44 Villain - 70 Rescue
2.- Bakugo Katsuki - 77 Villain - 0 Rescue
3.- Eijiro Kirishima - 39 Villain - 35 Rescue
4.- Ochaco Uraraka - 28 Villain - 45 Rescue
5.- Ibara Shiozaki - 36 Villain - 32 Rescue
6.- Itsuka Kendo - 25 Villain - 40 Rescue
7.- Tenya Ida - 52 Villain - 9 Rescue
8.- Izuku Midoriya - 0 Villain - 60 Rescue
9.- TetsuTetsu TetsuTetsu - 49 Villain - 10 Rescue
10.- Fumikage Tokoyami - 47 Villain - 10 Rescue
"..."
"... F-first place?! Wha… HUH?!" Completely mind-blown. "That many Rescue points?! How do they even work?!" She was astonished, but most of all, she was concerned. Why you may ask? Because Fate, the bitch she is, may use this as an excuse to put her in class 1-A.
Wearily, she looked at the card that came in the envelope. It came with basic information about the school and a welcome, but below all that, it showed her classroom and class in particular.
Dread, that's what she felt looking at the cursed letter. She could already see her death, maybe at the hands of the Nomu at USJ? Or disintegrated by Shiggy's quirk? Whatever it may be, it would not be pretty. 'I-I should at least try to get a kiss out of Yui before my death…'
"1-A…"
"Congratulations on getting first place on the Practical Exam, Young Brennan! This is your Hero Academia!"
Her death will not be pretty.

Maeve is in Class 1-A! What a surprise, right? No one expected that.
The next chapter is the Quirk Apprehension test and other things.
