Mineta's face hurt, and that was putting it mildly. He pressed an ice pack against his swollen cheek as he laid back against the cot in the nurse's office. The boy that had slammed his fist into Mineta's face had used his strength enhancing quirk to make it hurt more. Two streams of tears flowed down his swollen cheeks, with the salty water causing the right side of his face to feel cold as it touched the ice pack.
"This is your fault for trying to look up that girl's skirt, you know." Nurse Suki, despite what his name meant as he was an extremely muscular man, said as he sat in the chair beside Mineta's cot. He was reading a newspaper, and up until now, had been silently flipping through its pages. "You should stop being a pervert."
"I wasn't trying to look under her skirt, I dropped my pencil." Mineta forced through his salty lips. The excuse was true this time, he had been in the middle of a test when he leaned under his desk to grab his fallen pencil. The girl that sat in the desk in front of him had assumed otherwise, which led to her boyfriend going to pound town on Mineta's poor, handsome face.
"This is the third time this month." Nurse Suki said dryly, which made Mineta flinch ever so slightly. Those other two times he had been trying to get a better look at his classmates legs and cleavage. The stupid uniforms did their best to hide their heavenly bodies! "And that's not even counting the rest of the school year. I'm tired of seeing your bruised face in here."
Mineta remained silent, he couldn't think of any way to defend himself after everything he had done. His Mom didn't even bother coming to check up on him, telling him over the phone to take responsibility for his actions. It was a force habit really, he had started at a young age, following in his Father's example.
The bell ringing pulled the purple haired boy out of his thoughts. He sat up slowly with a low groan.
"Go home and think about what you've done." Nurse Suki stood up from his seat. "At this rate, you'll never make it into UA. I better not see you here next week or else!"
Mineta nodded, keeping the almost melted ice pack pressed against his skin, which was starting to match the color of his hair. Getting into UA was his dream, getting to become a pro-hero and meet sexy heroines! That would be the best way to find happiness.
"Yes sir." Mineta said under his breath. He jumped off the cot with a wince, and grabbed his backpack which sat on the ground in some dusty corner. After grabbing his phone and headphones from a hidden compartment on the inside and sliding it into his pockets, Mineta swung it over his back. He left Nurse Suki's room, ignoring the stare that was directed to the back of his head.
The only satisfaction the young pervert had was getting his attacker suspended for using his quirk on a fellow student, no matter the reason. The bruise on Mineta's face sadly stole any petty happiness he could have gained.
Nobody gave him a second look as he quietly slipped out of the school.
The streets were full of students that wore the same uniform as Mineta. Groups of them banded together, beautiful and bodacious girls, and guys that wished they were as handsome as Mineta. Nobody ever wanted to walk back to their neighborhood with him. He was used to it by now, and it looked like it was about to rain anyways. Walking with others would just slow him down.
Mineta slid his headphones into his ears, playing a random American song. He liked to listen to them to help practice his English, which would help make some hot babes swoon after him with just a few words.
"When you were here before, couldn't look you in the eye." The American singer sang, their voice sounding like a low mumble. "You're just like an angel your skin makes me cry."
Mineta puffed his chest out as best as he could since even just smiling hurt. There was a group of girls that took up the entire sidewalk, and were walking slowly without a care in the world.
"You float like a feather." The singer sang slowly, the minimalist instruments playing in the background. "In a beautiful world."
Mineta's eyes unconsciously drifted downwards. They all had nice legs, and calves, except the one girl who was built like a square. Literally, her quirk made her look like a literal block, she was nice, but she wasn't Mineta's type.
"I wish I was special." The singer sighed, his voice sending a shiver down Mineta's spine as he passed the group of girls. They had parted, forming a path so that he could walk through unhindered. He tried winking at the blonde one, but it must've looked more like a blink thanks to his bruise. "You're so very special."
The blonde grabbed her Square friend, whispering into her ear, probably about how cool Mineta was. The band's guitar came to life with a distorted cord, sounding like a thunderstorm. The rest of the band joined in, creating a symphony of rock. Mineta saw them point in his direction out of the corner of his one good eye, using their free hands to cover their mouths.
"But I'm a creep. I'm a weirdo."
Mineta's breath got caught in his throat, feeling the glares that were being sent his way. What was he thinking? There was a reason why nobody liked him in school, or didn't want to be his friend.
"What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here."
Mineta's pace sped us as he tightened his grip on his backpack's strap. Maybe the song's lyrics rang true, even he knew what it meant with his limited English.
"I don't care if it hurts." The song returned to its earlier slow melody.
Nobody wanted to be friends with a perv. Mineta balled his free hand into a fist. Nobody believed that he could actually make it into UA. Everyone laughed at him.
"I wanna have control."
Were they right? Mineta's quirk wasn't that strong, and while he was one of the smartest students in class, UA had one of the hardest physical entrance exams in the country.
"I want to have a perfect body. I want a perfect soul."
Maybe they were right. Mineta bit the inside of his cheek, which sent another wave of pain through his nerves to the ends of his body.
"I want you to notice, when I'm not around."
Mineta's stomach growled softly. He should get something to eat before he went home, since Mom was probably cooking something he didn't like as his punishment. There was a corner store that had good instant ramen up ahead. Just thinking about it made his mouth water. Yeah, that sounded like a good idea.
"So very special, but I'm a creep-"
Mineta pulled his headphones out of his ears just before the chorus of the song started again. It made him wish he wasn't as fluent in English as he was.
"Welcome." The bored convenience store worker sat on a small stool behind the counter. He looked like he was a few years older than Mineta, and was much taller and skinnier, as if someone had literally stretched his bones. The worker's eyes were drawn to the television screen that was in the corner, attached to the wall where it met the roof. That was disappointing, the cute worker that usually worked around this time wasn't here.
"Please welcome our musical guest of the day, Weiss Schnee!" The television host, a man with the head of a panda bear announced. A pretty girl with white hair appeared on the screen, a heavy guitar strum blared from the old speakers.
Mineta didn't say a greeting as he walked towards the back where the fridge was. After grabbing his nice cold drink to replace his now melted ice pack, and favorite bowl of instant ramen, Mineta made his way to the counter.
"They see you as small and helpless, they see you as just a child, surprise when they find out that a warrior will soon run wild." The white haired girl sang, her voice sliding its way into Mineta's ears.
"Will that be all?" The worker didn't even look in Mineta's direction. His eyes looked like they were attached to the television.
"Yeah." Mineta sighed. He followed the workers' gaze to the television. This Weiss Schnee was pretty enough, unnaturally so even as she glared at the two of them through the screen. She held a guitar in her hands.
"Prepare for your greatest moments, prepare for your finest hour." Weiss Schnee sang passionately, causing Mineta to forget about his food. "The dream that you always dreamed is suddenly about to flower!"
Mineta felt his eyes start to water, but not from pain. Someone believed in him! It was like this song was made just for him just as he was questioning his own resolve!
"We are lightning. Straying from the thunder!" The camera zoomed out, revealing the rest of the hand, but that didn't mean Mineta lost concentration. His eyes were stuck on the white haired beauty. "Miracle of ancient wonder!"
Mineta released the breath he didn't know he was holding in. She started singing faster and harder. "This will be the day we waited for, this will be the day we open up the door."
That's right, he wasn't going to give up on his dreams. Mineta gritted his teeth as he cried for the fourth time that day, his tears ending up in his mouth.
"I don't wanna hear your absolution, hope you're ready for a revolution?"
Mineta was going to apply to UA, and he was going to be a Pro-Hero! It didn't matter if his family or classmates didn't believe in him, Weiss Schnee did!
"Welcome to a world of new solutions! Welcome to a world of bloody evolution…in time, your heart will open minds, a story will be told."
Mineta wiped his eyes with the sleeves of his jacket. He would have to watch more of her videos when he got home.
"And victory is in a simple soul!"
"That'll be two thousand yen." The worker said, finally remembering that he had a customer. Mineta wasn't paying attention anymore, staring at the white haired girl that continued to sing her heart out.
"She's gorgeous, just like a goddess." Mineta said absentmindedly, even her scar appeared to enhance her beauty.
She was his goddess.
